I just found this video and thought to myself it’d make a lovely first page in my sketchbook, and low and behold I get to the end of painting and find that you’ve made the same suggestion. :) Lovely tutorial - thank you!
That’s what they say about “great minds think alike!!”
I came back again to see this beauty and listen to you talking about flowers and bees and butterflies 🦋
So nice of you, thanks so much!
What glorious pumpkins! The layering of colors is fascinating as well as using the watercolor brush. Need to get one. Years ago I grew pumpkins with very young children in my backyard during my daycare days. They loved watching the blossoms turning into little green orbs and grow and grow and changing colors. Finally we went into the garden together, each child choosing and picking a pumpkin to take home. Sweet memory. My youngest son had just celebrated his 3rd birthday. Watching you bring pumpkins to life is a gift. Thank you.
Hi Diane, I've returned to several of these older videos as they speak relaxation and quietness to my soul. Im so glad they are still available. Thank you. A real delight.
You are so welcome and they will always be there to be watched. Things change over time but I hope I have kept the same mood throughout (more or less!)
Dear Diane, I just love how you arranged this composition coming from all sides like this, and, of course, the subject matter. Fun!
This was a delight to do. Thanks for all the encouragement.
Our pleasure!
I just wanted to let you know your joy for painting, making watercolours look effortless, and willingness to experiment are an absolute thrill!!
Thanks so much for that comment, much appreciated!
These are very pleasant and natural colors. Wonderful effect.
Sooooo relaxing watching you paint your lovely composition and the music, wow, so relaxing and calming almost dozed off!!!!!! Again, you are a winner all the way around!!!!!❤️
My pleasure 😊
Im not even into painting but your energy calms me down, thank you for posting those videos xx
You never know, you might be tempted soon! So glad you are enjoying the videos!
We have wild and cultured blackberries in the States. I used to love picking them along the woods as a child.
Good to know. I was wondering about that. We still pick them here in France but last summer it was too hot for them to grow properly. Very unusual. Happy new Year!
I love your style and your paintings are so beautiful! I am learning much from you-thanks and keep on going
Beautiful! 🌱🌿☘️🌾🍂🍁🌼💛🧡🤎💚❤️
Absolutely lovely and very inspirational. Love the critters!
Glad you enjoyed it!
Hello Diane, like some of the others wrote you are very calming to listen to. I love the background of the music gently playing, the birds singing and on some of your other videos your rooster crowing! I only have birds out in the yard which I love the bird song. I love to watch you paint it is so relaxing how you go about it sharing this and that…Teaching us about the use of watercolor and mixing colors. This painting is just absolutely beautiful! It is interesting the way the colors change when they dry. I also love what you share as you are talking, like the acorns growing in a field ….I didn’t know they would re-seed…. And then you were talking about the berries nearby your studio. You must live on a beautiful piece of land around you. I appreciate your videos and all that you do in them please keep teaching and painting for us!! I often wish I was there in your studio in person teaching and talking with me. That would be a little hard to visit because I live in California lol. Thank you Diane. ✍️🤗🌻❤️
Hi Kimberly, thanks so much for your lovely message. I'm so glad you enjoy the videos and that you find them interesting and helpful. I wish you could visit too, and enjoy the peace and quiet of our corner of France! Thanks again for all your support and I wish you many hours of happy painting!
Magical and quietly charming!❤️
Yes I have problems with mould too so had to stop gardening quite a few years ago. Still, I love painting and drawing nature so art has more than made up for the gardening!
Hi Anne and thanks so much for your comment. You're the first person I've heard from who has a similar problem. Sorry you had to give up gardening. As you say though, painting is a consolation x
@@DianeAntoneStudio Hi. Think I much prefer the drawing/painting. Much less exertion! 😂. Just trying to paint a Grey Wagtail as we speak. Saw my first and only one along the river recently. Such a treat!
Thank you for this wonderful tutorial. I really enjoyed this and painted along. I actually added ink to all of the painting.Thank you for sharing your artistic talents with everyone.🥰🦋
You’re so welcome and thank you ❤️
Hey! You have such a beautiful style. Love your colour palette. My favourite subject ,I always return to similar subjects. Thank you 🐌🐜🐝🦔💐
Thank you so much! It sure is a popular subject! More coming today!
Beautiful thank you for sharing Diane.
Love your voice and the very soft music. This is just lovely. Mine did'nt turn out the same as I had to switch colours, chiefly the Qunacridone gold. Just ordered a tube! So generous of you to share the drawing templates for free. Thank you
Oh thank you! You're very welcome!
Loved the poem by John Claire. Thankyou for the lovely vlog.
Thanks so much Jenny, thanks for looking at some of the older videos, greatly appreciated x
Goodmorning Diane,
I just woke up, watching your video and almost fell asleep again….. 😉
The music, your calming voice, birds singing, watching you drawing…………………
Thank you for this wonderful video!
Have a nice day, stay safe and sound 😘
😊 thank you, so glad you are enjoying it!
I love your work. So gentle and sweet. The colors are beautiful.

Thanks so much for your lovely comments Yasmin x happy weekend to you too! 😊
I have wild blackberries in my back yard. They are all over this area of Northern Caliofornia in the foothills.
We have Huckleberries, a wild Rocky Mountain blueberry, enjoyed by humans and bears alike.
Beautiful! You have done another gorgeous painting.
Thanks Cathy! Much appreciated!
I love painting little cards !❤ i think it's better for me than scetch booking. For now anyway 😊.
Yes, I can see the attraction!
Thank you for once again sharing something so lovely!
You're so very welcome!
Totally fascinates me to watch you draw and then paint! What you did today is beautiful!❤
Thank you so much 😀
Certainly a lovely and subtle eye pleasing garden painting. I will relax and try this. 💖
Excellent Teresa! No stress with this painting!
Love this whimsical painting! 👍
Thank you so much!
💐 thanks for sharing your lovely art and painting
Thank you so much 😀 my pleasure!!
I learn so much with every video you share with us. The colors worked beautifully. I really enjoyed to drawing process. I feel as if I can draw most of this after watching you. We got several lessons in one. Thank you Diane!
I'm so glad! You will definitely be able to do it. No problem!
Beautiful! I want to paint it too! You are so talented and I love listening to your calming voice. 👏👏👏
Thank you so much 😀
Beautiful Diane! Thank you!
We have blackberries in the states, including wild ones. I just canned 11 pints of blackberry preserves!
So pleasant to watch. It made me want Fall to arrive faster. It's my favorite season!
Mine to. Except that's when my birthday comes around!
Love it!! really like how you mix the colors and end beautifly, Thanks Diane!!
Thanks Adela, muchas gracias!
The colors in this piece are absolutely stunning. Thank you so much for sharing your process with us and making us feel like we can actually do it. This is a lovely, lovely video start to finish. Well done. 💜
Thanks Kristina, so much appreciate your comment... Really great feedback, thanks again xxx
Love your videos Diane they are so relaxing and look easy enough for us to paint along even if they're not🤭🤭. You asked if Americans have blackberries then started talking about black currants like they were the same fruit...except they arent, just wanted to clarify that for folks, but they are both yummy and full of Vit C. We have wild blackberries in Oz but sadly most shires and farmers classify them as a weed instead of a food source and habitat and spray them, you have to be quick to get the fruit. Love this painting and hope I can do it justice. Thankyou 🙏🤗🦘🦘
Yes, I often say the wrong words! Blackcurrants in the garden, blackberries in the wild!
Lots of wild blackberries here in Oklahoma, USA. Love them just not their thorns!
Just absolutely beautiful....thanks!!!
Thanks so much for your comment!
Wow...everything you paint turns to magic! This is stunning. I enjoyed painting this alongside you and enjoyed the music. I was so relaxed I had to stop halfway through for fear I'd fall asleep :) Another thing I really enjoy is listening to your animal stories like how the little kitty showed up at your home. Lucky kitty to have landed on your doorstep. Is that an owl that I'm hearing off in the distance? You have a little plot of paradise! If you're ever out of ideas as to what to paint, I'd love a tutorial on oak leaves and acorns. Mine didn't turn out so well :) Thanks for yet another fantastic tutorial.
Thanks Carolyn for another beautifully thoughtful comment. Much appreciated! I think that bird was a woodpigeon but it could have been an owl as we do have them nearby and some of them do call during the day! More animal stories coming up!
My 162 th. I am sorry for your husbands tinnitus. I know it can make you angry ,but that makes it only worse ( for him and his network of people). My program of 12 weeks is to let go of control and embrace acceptance. Tinnitus while not go away and instead of fighting it or " run away" - which isn't possible it integrates more , it may be there but it doesn't affect you so much any more. You where very lucky to get rid of it, me is told there is no treatment to "heal " it. ❤ I really thank you for your love.
And I did enjoy your painting. 😊 . I will try to take this idea into an placemat. Thanks for being a friend😊❤
Thanks Wim and I really appreciate your support and enjoyment of the channel - it means a lot to me as you know xxx
So pretty. I chuckled because when you said August I thought of "All's well that ends well". But that depends upon where you live. We are in the throes of summer here.
Jolly hot here today too! But the blackberries are turning black!
Well done!
I love this ❤
We have native blackberries growing wild in Vermont (New England) USA. I have them here on our little 1.59-acre place,
Wonderful painting!
And……..I’m still awake 😉
Lovely, with a nice variety of plants etc….going to have to get my water brush out again
Thank you Linda!
Lovely! Even though it’s winter here. I use a syringe and needle to fill my water brush…retired nurse. However, winter in Cape Town is beautifully green and many things are in flower so I should be able to find things in my garden to do something similar.
Thanks so much for your comment Deirdre. I haven't got a syringe so I just put the body in water and squeeze gently until all the air bubbles finish coming out. Hope you enjoy doing the painting! Glad you are enjoying the channel!
Such a wonderful calming video.. cheaper than therapy.. ; )
You're so right. More effective too probably!
I love watching your painting at double speed…so nice! Just brilliant!
I do that when we are editing. It's hilarious! Chipmunk Time!
@@DianeAntoneStudio exactly! 🐿 when I had time I got to watch it at normal speed and learned so much. I think the bees I’m painting look pretty good now. Thank you so much for teaching us!
This is so pretty. Just love the relaxed nature of it. I’m not seeing a sketch for it- is there one available? Thank you for such wonderful watercolor projects. I just love your work and your channel.
Yes blackberries grow in US both wild and domesticated. I wasn’t allowed to pick wild because chiggers would attack me with bites. No one else got bitten! They were worse than mosquitoes!
Awesome
Gorgeous for my journal
So glad you enjoyed it!
I love our fall colors. Bright and muted, but muted could be my favorite. I may have missed you saying, but how did you get the granulated look in the oak leaves? This painting is just beautiful. Thanks ❤️
I didn't do anything special to get granulation in the leaves, it was just the combination of Quin Gold, Olive Green and maybe a bit of Sepia ...
@@DianeAntoneStudio thanks
Another beautifully done project. Another must do. If you decide what those grey things are let us know. At first I thought of japanese lanterns, but your color choice didn’t work in my probably addled brain...ours were orange, then turned a goldish/tan colour. Just pulled some black cap starts out of the herb garden this morning. They do grow wild here and the birds happily sow the seeds everywhere. In places I let some develop for snacking while out of doors! As always, a hugh thank you.
Ah, yes, I think artistic licence was at work there! I think I made them up! Chinese lanterns are reddish, aren't they? Orangey red?
Oh yes we have wild and cultivated blackberries here in the US. The wild ones are much more prickly to obtain.
Hi Diane, I know that you enjoy using the Kuretake watercolour paints…I would love to have a 48 colour set for myself…but I checked out Amazon for this set…and I am not seeing yet what you use…yours aren’t gloss, are they? ❤
No, they’re not glossy, it’s this set - Kuretake Gainsai Tambi 48 Color Set amzn.to/3zZX8Kn and I also have this one -
Kuretake Gansai Tambi Art Nouveau set amzn.to/3KkQxRl. Hope this helps.
Papery pods could either be 'swan plants' or 'love in the mist' or something else..
This was so soothing and relaxing to watch. I chuckled about the Ikea card. I guess I'm going to have to open an account now :p Will there be a sketch of this one on your website? Thank you, Diane!
I'll try to get a sketch of this one up, but it's a bit of a time-consuming one! Working on it!
I love this painting…I can’t find the sketch. Were you able to upload and I just can’t find it?
Thank you for your videos Diane, they are a treat!
Thanks!
Thanks so much Donna for your donation!

drawings?
Thank you so much ☺️ 💓
Our sketches are on our website here: dianeantone.com/free-downloads/ and also available on Patreon if you become a member.
Hi. I am watching this video and tried to find the sketch. Is there a sketch? Thank you.
Gorgeous! Do you have any drawings we can print off?
Yes, she has her website listed underneath her video dianeantone.com
Actually, I thought printable sketches were part of "subscribing" to this site. Couldn't find a reply to this question, but something I would really love to know!
Hi there, all my sketches are free of charge for you to download from my website which is at dianeantone.com If you have any questions please don’t hesitate to ask.
I love this ❤
