When we first immigrated to Canada, we bought one of those huge pumpkins for dinner and, as you say, discovered it's better for decoration or pumpkin mazes! Love the colours here, Dianne, and getting into the mood for Halloween, painting along with you.

My 146 th. In artclass I painted a pumpkin from my garden. It took me about three sessions - two hours each. The teacher criticized it by telling that the composition, the colors etc where good but that it looked like a oil picture. So it will be a challenge to paint it next autumn in your style. I just follow the playlist . Pumpkins from my garden - about 30 this year , most bottle pumpkins now are regularly on the menu. 😊wim

I live in Vermont. Our state tree is the Sugar Maple which grows wild all over the mountains and the lowlands. In Spring when the days are warming but the nights are cold, the sap is boiled in sugar houses all over the state, where the maple syrup is then bottled. We also grow lots of pumpkins in Vermont! They can be found in roadside stands, farms, and supermarkets.

Yes, I don’t know if you are aware that in America we have two types of pumpkins. One is indeed inedible and used for decorating, while the other is called cooking pumpkins and surprise, is used for cooking! They are very different. You have painted such a lovely picture!! Thank you!💕

Hi Donna, thanks very much for the info! Over here in Europe, we have loads of different types of pumpkins, gourds and squash, some of which are decorative and never get eaten! Glad you enjoyed the video and had fun painting it! I should try to paint some of those decorative ones at some point.

I love pumpkins and their many benefits. The transprant orange really set your pumpkins off. You did great on their sizing as well. This will definitely be a fun painting. Now for the benefits of good old pumpkins. Pureed it is great to help your dogs upset tummy. My Cattle Dog Cassie, approved! We keep a pumpkin pie during the colder months as their warming spices are great for Arthritis and general aches from Fibromyalgia. If pie isn't your thing then there is pumpkin bread, cookies and even soup. I have never had soup but am told it is really good. The newer thing is in different type of coffee. Not for me, but others love it. Thank you Diane for sharing important parts of our American culture.

Hi Ann! We have a freezer full of frozen pumpkin from last year's bumper harvest but this year won't be as good due to the very bad spring weather. I make soup with it all winter, often combined with courgettes and carrots - delicious! I used to make pumpkin pie when I lived in Canada! And yes, I've given it to the dogs if needed to settle their stomachs! In honour of the pumpkin, the very first product in our RUclips Shop is going to be a Limited Edition Pumpkin Mug - coming hopefully later today once YT have approved it!

What a beautiful picture! The colours are generous and harmonise perfectly. So warm and friendly...The picture evokes an autumnal mood and foreshadows the abundance that nature always gives us.
Thank you, Mrs da Vinci, though.... Antone is better, because, I think, da Vinci didn't really finish many paintings in his life, let alone with colours like this😬😁.

That’s hilarious Rosie! I never thought they would come back into fashion like that again. We used to have a white leatherette one. It was in the lounge as my mother liked to call it, otherwise known as the front room! The room we weren’t supposed to be in! And I seem to remember there was a black one in the other room! And we called them poofies - I wonder how John Lewis pronounce it!

    • @DianeAntoneStudio

Well, having lived in many different countries I would say that France is the best of the bunch, but that these days it leaves a lot to be desired! It's very peaceful where I am, in the middle of Brittany, and very old-fashioned. Not expensive here, but many parts of France are pricey. Everything is different now after Covid hit, and we are really quite cut off from people. So nothing really to be envious of!! Where do you live??
