Dearest Diane, when I first found your RUclips channel I believe that you had just begun making these wonderful videos. You had less than 500 subscribers. I was sooooo very new to watercolor painting and I fell hard for your painting style as well as your delightful and engaging personality. I was convinced that you could make me a fabulous painter too! I am thrilled to see today that you have over 16,000 subscribers and having read the comments I am made aware that I am certainly not alone in my fondness for you and your many talents. I just want to give a heartfelt Thank You for being so generous with your time and skills. I also look forward to seeing and hearing from you every day. You are sunshine! ☀️🧡💛
Hi dear Trina, thanks so much for your lovely message, which really made my day! You're quite right, this time last year we had about 100 subs and thanks to you and others who have supported the channel we have come a rather long way! I know we mustn't rest on our laurels, so there is still a lot of work to do to keep the channel running and growing, but knowing that you are succeeding in your quest to become an artist is great encouragement for me and Tamsin. We both really appreciate you being there and hope that we'll all be together for a long time to come. Much love from us both xxx
I want to be right under this tree reading a good book!!! Thank you, Diane🥰 You are so wonderful! I check every day for your videos; they are the highlight of my day ♥️
This is such a lovely comment. I couldn't agree more with everything you said. I want to be there too and I do the same. I wake up every day to search for another Diane tutorial. :)
Diane, I so enjoy watching you paint and the loveliness appearing as if by magic. I also really enjoying your verbal meanderings. I hope it's not a presumption, but, among all the artists I watch, I feel like we are/could be friends. It would be an absolute delight to meet you in person and have a cuppa. Of course, since I think tea tastes like used dishwater, I'd have to have coffee with some good stuff in it! Thank you for sharing your skills w us, whether we paint or not.
Hi Terry and what a lovely message! I’m sure we would be friends in real life, and wish it was possible to meet. I would join you in coffee as tea doesn’t work for me either, it’s just I can’t have toooo much caffeine in one day!! I’m only too happy to share what I can with everyone and I am so grateful that you have found me and enjoy the videos xxx
I just love the simple beauty of this painting. I’m sure it’s not so simple for us beginners but I’m going to give it a shot. Thank you for sharing Diane.
I was taught by Ron Ranson - not only was his the first landscape watercolor book I really studied but I was also fortunate enough to be taught by him in person. Extraordinary art myth-busting iconoclast.
Diane, this is such a peaceful little lake scene. I love how you created the reflections from the trees onto the lake. It's all jus so stunning! Thank you.
Thank you very much cheered me up after a bad week and loss of money but nevermind things can only get better learned a lesson worked on my home till I got it out of my system. So watching you paint this was calming
@@DianeAntoneStudio Thank you very much yes the week was bad but ended up with the return of money that I had lost so I have donated as a thank you for all the lovely sketches that I have downloaded from your site
Brilliant Diane how you can change the initial wetting into the sky. I couldn’t get the sky like that even if I tried lol. Thanks for a soothing ‘next episode’. Hope you sort your French ‘red tape’ ok xx
Simple and elegant little landscape. Love it. I especially like the way the tree was done using the small flat brush. Something new for me to try, thanks for showing that.
Nice little painting…I remember Zoltan Szabo…think he was Canadian..so many past artists would be amazed by the technology today..& RUclips artists tutorials
I’m glad that you have returned to the watercolor brushes for this video. I always love to watch your brush strokes and am going to try that technique for leaves! I’ve been working hard on my brush and paint techniques for 1 1/2 yrs, since I started watercolor during lockdown, and I don’t want to switch to watercolor brush and color sheets (except for travel convenience). Thanks 🤩
Don’t worry Wendy, I won’t abandon the traditional ways. I have given the new-to-me water brush and color sheets a good try out and now I know what they are and aren’t good for!! Glad you enjoyed this video!!
@@DianeAntoneStudio Dear Diane, thanks so much for your kind reply! Having said what I did, I want to also thank you for introducing us to the variety of media and techniques that you have done. I have learned a huge amount from you and am actually eager to expand my horizons. And you are, after all, doing tutorials for everyone in your ever-expanding audience❣️
Lovely! I love your style and the time you take to explain what you're doing and how. I have Szabo's books and many more current artists books. They are nice to refer to. Thanks. Have a good weekend!
Yes, I've got three of his, don't know how many more he wrote, and lots of other artists who have "taught" me over the years. Older books, I think, have better content than newer ones, strangely x
@@DianeAntoneStudio Hi, I would love to hear some of the books/authors works you've enjoyed over the years. Then we can look for them. I've noticed with the older books that I am distracted by the fading or maybe lack of brighter colors and then lose the techniques and effects. I have to redirect myself LOL. Thank you for responding. x
Love the loose painting and colors you picked . You are a great teacher. Thanks
amazing how beautiful such a simple landscape can be with careful attention to the tree and really let everything else be very quiet.
Thank you very much for your kind words Ramona, much appreciated.

Thanks Barbara! More landscapes will be coming up!
I love working with a flat brush. You really created wonderful marks, effortlessly! Such a peaceful scene for my favorite season.
The flat comes in handy for leaves especially. And you must try a hake!
beautiful...such a peaceful place that would be. Thank you for sharing.
Yes, you're right, it would be ideal for a nice picnic!
This is the second video I've seen of your fantastic work, Diane; I am HOOKED!!!! Thank you for sharing so much with us all.

Just got the boahong 100% cotton. I haven't used it yet. Fear of wasting it 😊
Hope you enjoy it! Maybe divide your first sheet up into smaller pieces and try out little paintings before you launch into one bigger one!
Looks like I could do this one. Maybe
Ha ha.
Of course you can!!
