We do get wrapped up in the supplies don't we? I know i'am guilty of that.. I want the best supplies i can afford... Sometimes i think i put more time and effort in the collecting than the painting and creating... sheesh.... Love the video Diane! Thank you! Hugs! deb
I feel you on the waking up early every morning, I have a lovely cat that says it is time to get up at 5:00 a.m. every morning. I do love her, but it would be nice to sleep in on the weekends. This one was real cool. I like the contrast with the dark color on the vase.
5.30-6am, is my normal get up time, love the morning and use that time to paint until Hubby gets up around 8a.m. If I don’t paint I love the time to read undisturbed, my bed time is usually 10 - 10.30 ish. Love this pot, will try this tomorrow morning, enjoying using my sketchbook, first one, nearly finished, not sure that I would share it with anybody but I am happy with my progress.
I agree with you, in the summer I really like the early mornings. Unfortunately my body doesn’t agree with my mind. I have spent too many years getting up at 7:30 to be able to easily change that. But I’ll keep trying!
Hi Diane from Tennessee. I love your paintings.,, all of them!! But these jar paintings are my faves. I love the one you shows in your sketchbook with the little yellow birds and this black one 😍. Thank you for sharing your talent!!
Another beautiful painting! The colors are so vibrant and I love seeing all the sweet and positive comments below. So many followers like me...always looking for another Diane Antone video :) xo
I look forward to seeing your videos everyday. I've only been watching you for nearly a year now and I am working on my first painting. You have been a great help in overcoming my fear of this medium. Love you ❤❤❤
I just found this video today! The teal was a great addition against the black, I think, and I can't wait to do my own. Thanks for everything you do for us. I so look forward to the new videos!
beautiful creation. I too love goreous pottery. Recently, I started collecting bits and pieces (garage sale finds. ha, ha.) of Italian Deruta pottery. Thank you for this awesome painting tutorial. Hope you are getting some sleep now.
Hey Diane 👋 I absolutely love this, the colors are so vibrant. Thank you for sharing with us. As usual you inspire me so much. Again, beautiful painting 😊💜
My mom had quite a collection of ceramic things. I’ve collected other things in my life…books, DVDs, CDs and stationery/art supplies and paper! I do love your pot, however. It’s a great pity South Africa can’t send rain your way. Our entire coastal area is flooded and Durban even experienced a tornado yesterday.
This is a lovely composition Diane I love the colours and the use of black paint. I really enjoyed how you did the negative painting on the jar you made it look really easy despite your tiredness. Thankyou for a lovely tutorial. X
Thank you, Diane, for helping beginners like myself feel it’s OK to try new methods. I love how approachable your projects are. I really appreciate the time I spend with you via your videos. ❤
Hi Diane, I started following you on RUclips a couple of years ago when you were using the little dishes for each of your colors. Then you introduced us to Vivia paints. I of course have purchased everything you’ve introduced us to, from Meeden, to Kuratake. My favorite though is Daniel Smith but it’s pricey. I just found my Viviva sheets in a drawer, and wonder if you’d do a tutorial on them again. I swatched out the colors and they’re so pretty.
Yes, that’s a brilliant idea! I had them out the other day and had intended to do a video soon using them so - thanks very much for reminding me! Probably coming up on Friday! Also, I’m going to be using my little dishes again soon as that really is my preferred way - but I do like to share other ideas when they come along, and seem like a good deal! Thanks for your comment, so glad you enjoyed the channel! (By the way, I wish I could afford Daniel Smith, but they are very expensive over here! Never any chance of a sale price!)
This is a charming and very colorful picture. I am glad to hear that everyone has a side which is not always mirror shaped to the other! I seem to always struggle for symmetry. Hope your doggie lets you sleep later tomorrow!!! You do so well with not enough sleep though!! Thank you for this demonstration. I love it.
I like painting details at times, but it took a long time to register why I did. It adds depth, but DOES NOT need to be photo-realistic, as I see it, thus am usually pleased with results. Love this vase..Thank you. Susan
Hello Diane, I am so very sorry about your interrupted sleep. I hear you and totally understand this. Actually Seth (energy essence channeled by Jane Roberts) recommends 2 shorter periods of sleep, instead the "8 hour" traditional "proper sleep". So basically some sleep at night and another nap during the day. Even though Seth highly recommended this and I have heard of mystics existing on very little sleep, I don't force my body to do anything like this. But, it all comes down to an acceptance of what is "right." I think the hardest part is to accept this idea as a "healthy" sleep and once you do this, the body follows suit. Personally, my sleep patterns are eratic because I get caught up in painting/creating and stay up half a night doing that... thus getting only a few hours of sleep at night... and so later on during the day, I take a long nap (sometimes for 3 hours).. We've all been throught this with our newborn babies.... Hopefully either your body will get used to getting up at 5 a.m. or your dog will change his routine. My sympathy....
That’s very interesting, and I can understand the benefit of an afternoon nap. I also like to be up early in the morning. I just think it’s too late in life for me to make changes like that. I’m one who thrives on routine, a regular bedtime, meals at the same time each day and activities divided into sections of the day. The older I’ve got the more I want this. That’s the only way I can get things (like the channel) done! Ruby took a turn for the worse and she had to be put to sleep, so that issue is no longer a problem. Thanks so much for your comment and your ongoing support xxx
@@DianeAntoneStudio Thank you for taking the time to answer all of my comments. I appreciate this. I am so very sorry about Ruby. I know that even though it was very hard for you , you miss her terribly and it hurts. Even though, she is at peace now, frolicking in the afterlife, it hurts and you miss her. So, so very sorry. You are in my thoughts. Hugs, Eve
Lovely! And the new website design is GREAT! Working hard to finish my second of four counted cross stitch Christmas stockings requested by my sister. Ugh. I miss painting but so very much appreciate you keeping me company and sharing your beautiful work which I hope to get back to working on soon.
Thanks so much! I keep the paintings filed in drawers labelled according to subject and year. And if anyone wants to buy them, I sell them for $50 each!
This is lovely! I’m going to get out my pitchers and jars. Do you ever have an issue with the black of your paint being different than the pen? Or did you do a matching test first?
Diane I really like this one, especially baby 🐥 🐤. I have done the greenhouse, and I had trouble doing the black walls. Do you have an ideas' what I can do.
I'm loving your videos! I wanted to mention something about your dog with dementia. I can really relate to this! If you find the CBD product and it works, make sure to let us know. :-) When our dog first got dementia, it was crazy. We tried a couple of prescriptions but they weren't helpful. Her anxiety quieted down, thankfully, so maybe that's an encouraging thought for you. :-) She still does annoying "bad doggy" things like eating our toilet paper and other things she never even did as a puppy. And she's still peeing in the house but fortunately knows to go on the puppy pads. Good luck with your dog! I know it's extremely frustrating.
Sorry I didn’t reply sooner but I got behind with replying to comments. Sadly we had to say goodbye to Ruby. She suddenly switched into a panic mode where she wouldn’t allow herself to be out of my sight - she was afraid her food supply would be interrupted - and she was just beside herself. We did try giving her the CBD but it didn’t seem to make any difference. Thanks so much for your kind words xxx
@@DianeAntoneStudio Oh my! We also had to have our dog put to sleep earlier this month. She had a large tumor on her liver and we knew it would be only a matter of time. It ended up fully rupturing and this last time she was just bleeding internally too much for it to turn around like it did the first time. My son is pretty devastated... she was really his dog. This is the hardest part of having pets.
I recommend your channel to all my friends who are interested in watercolour!

I'm guilty of this too. I am really painting now and having fun figuring out how to use all the stuff I have collected!
There’s no harm in having an interest in the different supplies, as long as you use them sometimes LOL!
I love the black background on the ceramic…exotic looking!

It was challenging to paint with black around the leaves, flowers and the bird, but it was great practice!
