Your whimsy and thoughts out loud as you paint is so inspiring. I’ve been stuck in the realism mode for too long, your channel has given me permission to just have fun with paint without the pressure. Thank you. BTW, I’ve been painting for many years, studied with a variety of workshops and teachers in that time, but feel my art has advanced so much through RUclips. I’m 76, not elderly yet (lol), but finally call myself an artist.
Thanks so much for sharing your thoughts Linda, it’s very thought provoking for me to see what you feel about the channel contents. I’m so glad it’s been helpful to you in finding your feet as an artist. Wishing you much more happy painting xxx
I hope this painting helped cheer you up a bit. In the video you said that you are not a real artist but you are a “dilettante.” A dilettante is a person who cultivates an area of interest without real commitment or knowledge. You are committed to watercolor and you have an extreme amount of knowledge so you do not fit the definition of dilettante. Therefore, you must be a real artist. :-) I call myself a watercolor artist or watercolorist all the time. Recently my husband was introducing me to someone and he said, "She is a watercolor artist," which made me very happy. No, I will never be Picasso but I know that others feel joy when they view my work. That's all I need.
@@DianeAntoneStudio Dear Diane you are both!! An art teacher and a beautiful ARTIST! And a communicator. Oh. That makes at least 3 things! But wait! There is at least 1 more. You make us all very happy and encourage us EVERY time we watch your videos! Much love to you!! ❤️🤗❤️🥰
I just had to paint today too. My boyfriend is very unwell in hospital. I went made making some backgrounds and tried my new mini gelli plate he got me for Christmas. I'd go nuts without art because I have anxiety and depression.
Hi and thanks so much for sharing and for commenting. I’m so sorry to hear that your boyfriend is sick. I hope he gets better soon xx You’ll have to let me know how the gelli plate works out, I didn’t know you could get mini ones and I’ve been wondering about trying one out for a while so a mini would be ideal. You’re right, we need art in our lives to keep us sane - I used to suffer from depression and have PTSD so art is also my saviour! Happy painting and keep watching - and may your boyfriend get well soon xxxx
I'm sorry for your friend who had the car accident. Thank God for you and your kind and caring heart. The leaf painting is beautiful. Thank you for sharing your talent and your warmth. Also, love that you rescued the bird.
Oh Diane. I wish I was your neighbor and friend. You are such a kind and caring person. I hope this day brings you joy and contentment. Thank you for lifting us all up with both your tutorials and your sweet and caring personality.
Thank you for being real and sharing your feelings - it helps others feel they can do it, too. I hope your elderly friend is okay and that you are as well. ❤
No, you are an artist! I call myself an artist, and I'm a beginner. I've had a piece auctioned for a wellness group. I don't call myself a good artist. But I am an artist. You are a fantastic artist. Affirm it. Own it! ❤😂
I’m so sorry for your friend. Aging makes so many things more difficult. The fact that you feel his trouble so deeply says more about your kind heart than anything❤And what you created in the midst of such unhappiness lifted others up…You are a gift.
Absolutely beautiful! Blows my mind that when God created the earth….He made soooo many different shades of green and blue and……well, I could go on and on….peace and joy to you from our Lord Jesus❤❤❤❤
I'm so happy you were able to help the little bird and you'll be there for your friend too. I'm sure he'll take great comfort in knowing you are there for him in his time of need. Thank you for sharing.
Painting is what helped me through my stroke, then a month later my husband's diagnosis of terminal esophageal cancer, caregiving, being his hospice caregiver because we made a promise to each other and and now the journey of finding out who I am without him as he was also my best friend and we almost made it to 40 years of marriage. So painting is my grace.
I’m so sorry to hear of your awful losses, there are no words. Wishing you a rediscovery of peace and joy as you paint through the worst of it. Prayers for you xxx
Not doing each leaf the same doesn't make you any less of a real artist. You are a wonderful, creative artist doing your own thing. Beautiful art today.
Definitely better with blues and greens…if I could only have two colors forever they would most surely be blues and greens! This painting should help to cheer us all a good bit!
Again it was a wonderful lesson in patience and understanding the positive thoughts painting brings. You do have a calmness to settle my mind. Love the steps to finish, creative joy which we all need. I love Kuretake paints, easy to use and the colors always spot on for me! Thanks for teaching, Karen Dirmish 0:30
You are a real artist, you are making things. Whether it is paint, clay, fiber, food, sounds, words...if you take what wasn't there before and make a "thing" you are an artist.
Thank you for a reminder that I don't have to over think creating art when my head isn't in the right place. This kind of painting is so therapeutic and calming, helping one to relax a little from stressful events in our lives. I do hope that the friend you mentioned, will be okay ❤
You are so welcome Wendy. I am beginning to think that all paintings should be done like this, without any forward planning, so there can’t be disappointment or stress!
I could see your mood lifting as you progressed. Creating for the love of it rather than feeling as if you must is a good thing. Save the production for a day when you are lighter of spirit. May I say you’ve inspired me to take up painting again after a few fallow years…..stay well.
Diane, it's November 5, 2024, and I am sitting here watching/listening to your video here. I am fighting tears. I am 73, single (not by choice), physically disabled, and struggle, living by myself. I have a Darling Daughter who lives in the state next over from me here in Georgia, USA. My 2 (indoors only) kittie boys and my art keep me company. These blues and greens are BEAUTIFUL!! I greatly enjoy watching/listening to you as you paint. I sooo enjoy whenever I get to hear the rooster. Listening to you and all your darling animals is verg comforting to me. Last night I followed your lead and dropped pretty colors into circles of water, and have a beautiful piece of painted paper to now paint leaves and "rough" roses. I will have to do this color combination now. Oh, AND you have inspired me to pull out various pens to also add "mark making" with them. Thank you for doing this channel. It is such a blessing to me. May God richly bless you and yours.
Hi there and sorry for the delay in replying, so I hope you get my message. Sorry that you are feeling lonely and that you’re struggling to manage. I’m so glad you enjoy the art and the animals and thanks for letting me know, because it’s very important to me and Tamsin that we are reaching people who need some support. We all struggle sometimes, but the least we can do is to share the love. Thanks for your kind words of blessing and I send you the same, and hope you see your daughter soon xxx
I actually really needed something like this today. Nothing really happened but this grandma was feeling a little bit sorry for herself. I thought for sure when we move into an apartment community for people over 55 that we would have some free time and be able to enjoy our lives finally after working in bringing up kids for years however with the way the world is today some of the kids can't afford to work and find daycare so now my husband and I are finding ourselves 810 hours a day taking care of a one-year-old and a three-year-old. No time for ourselves at the time we can't even make doctor's appointments or things that you have to do when you get to be over 65. So I was just feeling a little gloomy and very tired today and I wanted to pay but couldn't figure out what to put on the paper I think I sat down at the table for 5 times today but now I feel inspired to sit down and let Grandma's brain wander a bit through the watercolors
My dear friend…when we love…(family, friends, animals or other people in general) as you obviously do, we always pay the price of pain, grief, heartache. But without love, there is no life. Ideally, we would see only joy, kindness and compassion. However, we all know that isn’t the case. So all we can do is to keep caring and loving, and pray it makes a difference. Enough said. The painting is quite lovely. I’ll be sending healing white light to the precious bird and your friend as well. Tomorrow will be better.❤️❤️❤️❤️XOXO
I love it Diane! You made me smile with you painting and your chatting. Thank you and I hope everything looks a little better for you and your friend tomorrow. 🖌️🎨❤️
A sheet of paper is NEVER ruined by putting paint on it 🥰 Sure, you may not be happy with the outcome at times, but enjoying the process and relieving stress, anxiety, fear, what’re ever is nagging at you, is what’s important. Thank you for sharing this video Diane
Thank you Diane, not only for your beautiful art lessons, but showing us how important art is working through difficult life events! For that you can call yourself an art therapist! I truly value you!
Prayers for your friend. One can never "waste" watercolor paper. It's purpose is to collect paint. Very nice video, and always remember to smile - even for 1 second!!!
Thank you, Diane.....you are so sweet to include us in your deepest thoughts. I am just learning that I can use paints freely without a huge involved plan! It's a great way to develop style and focus without struggle and pressure. It works to center the brain.
It’s so difficult when people we care about have hard times. Thankful for the bumper sticker today: ART is the solution. It really is in so many ways. You are an encouraging watercolor artist. You’ve given me courage to call myself this ❤️ thank you. Praying for healing energy and positive vibes toward all.
My house backs up against woods and every year in the spring I have cardinals attacking their image in my study window so I have to do various things to stop them. At least I have no more stray cats living back there because now they live inside! I wanted to say something about your friend - besides being upset that someone was injuredin the accident, he may also. be worried about losing his license. I don't know what it's like there, but here in the states, if an older person is in an accident they look at you very carefully and sometimes make you take a driver's exam or classes. I'm 75 and have become very careful, not because my health warrants it, but because if I lose my license I'd be in a real bind. So he may be secretly worrying about that as well. No need to answer - you're busy making us all happy with your videos :-)
Hi Camela, you’re right, he is worried about that. I think he thinks he might be prosecuted and fined as well as losing his licence. He doesn’t have any money. He is really in a hole. But somewhere there must be a silver lining. I just said to him at least you weren’t hurt. Two years ago he did something similar and broke his arm falling off his motorbike. Time to slow down? Thanks so much for your kind comments xxx
Thank you, Diane, for this truly inspirational tutorial. You are providing healing and positivity every single day for all of us who follow you, and for all those you interact with personally. Your humility and patience are very touching. Thank you so much to you and Tamsin for brightening up the lives of so many thousands of people every day. Priceless! I hope that your sad things pass and that the rejuvenation found by painting leaves and nature themes will provide their own healing for you xx
Thanks so much Jane for your tremendously kind words of support. It means a great deal to both of us. I’m so glad you are enjoying and benefitting from the videos and it is my great pleasure to be able to share my paint splashes with you every day! Thanks again xxx
I loved reading everyone’s comments today… it gives me hope to know there are such kind people in the world because driving the freeways of Los Angeles makes me depressed!!! There are so many impatient, angry drivers! Thank you for sharing your emotions and painting with us… Saint Francis is smiling on your kindness to one of earth’s smallest creatures.
Isn’t it amazing Valerie! The world is certainly full of wonderful people, just spread a little too thinly to be seen above the racketing world around us. Good luck with the Los Angeles traffic. I’ve forgotten what real traffic is since living here in the middle of nowhere!
You are a 'real artist' ... very talented ... able to pull yourself through those unhappy and sad feelings with grace while creating beautiful, inspiring art as you simultaneously give love and care to a little helpless creature. That's a LOT ❤
New Subscriber here. I hope this helped make you feel calmer. This is what art can do for us. It takes us away from the day to day, and into a place of creativity, where we can lose ourselves. We all need that. I love what you have done here. I am learning all about watercolour, and what my style might be, and this is it. This is my style. Doodling. Anything goes. That's me. Please be gentle with yourself.💜
Thanks for the sub Ellie, and I really appreciate you taking the time to comment and share. I agree with what you say, and I wish you much joy on your watercolor journey. As you say, anything goes if it brings joy!
Oddly enough, I have doodled leaf shapes since I was a child..must be the need to connect with the living things for some reason...or maybe just because they just fall out of my pencil! The lovely soothing blues and greens are perfect for the doodling - it allows you to get out of your funk and just go to the place where the art comes from. Oh, and by the way, you have not ruined a piece of paper - it is now wonderful and brimming with life! HOpe you feel better - hugs!
I’m commenting at the end of the video. I love how this painting grew. It started out very sad and the more things you put on it, the more cheery it got. “Decorating” the leaves with the gold, and decorating the background and berries with spirals and more white, made it look more and more like how you paint when you are not sad. You ARE an artist, and an inspiring, teaching one at that!
Thank you for painting when you were feeling depressed. Yesterday when I started watching this video I was feeling very depressed as I have an injury of my knee and it wants to keep me from doing things I want to do. But I forced myself to get out my drawing and painting things and I felt better in the end. Listening to you as you did your painting, and talked about how you were feeling was healing for me as well. I hope you felt better after you did your lovely painting.
Oh, Diane! I'm so sorry that happened. It's so difficult to be in that situation and I understand your grief for your friend. I hope it resolves OK. Your art is beautiful and you are truly a 'real' artist! What beauty you created out of your concern for your friend!
What a fun painting! And pretty, too! FYI: A debutante, in the old south(where I live),was a young lady ready to be presented to society. Basically, her father was saying to the world that she was ready for gentlemen callers. 😉 Only the elite could afford to do so. I hope you're feeling better now. ❤️ You're such a dear one to be so concerned for your friend. Of course that doesn't surprise me a bit! I'm also a bit sad/depressed today...maybe I'll finally be able to break that page now.! 😉😊 Blessings to you & Tamsin! Much love, Jacqui ❤
Hi Diane 🌻 I hope things are looking up for you and your friends today, including the little bird!! Doing my best to send some healing energy. I love your work. You did so well composing today's painting while experiencing the sadness and upset over your friend's difficult situation (and the bird's, too). There are various ways to define art and what it means to be an artist. I love your work and how you share the process of creating nature inspired art. Thank you, too, for sharing some of your beautiful surroundings, animal family, and adventures. It's very kind of you!! You may not get to hang it in the Louvre, but it's beautiful, creative, uplifting, inspirational, and fun. How is that not art? Hugs🤗🐾💙
I hope sharing your sadness for your friend helps lighten your heart. He's lucky to have such a caring friend. I know your compassion will help him through the bad times.
❤ Diane…you are an incredible, creative, gifted artist! NO DEBATE on that!!! And you are much loved ❤and appreciated for who you are! I have been SO delighted in the last few videos to SEE you briefly! Thanks for doing that! I am giving you some warm teddy-bear hugs right now….❤❤❤! It would awesome to just have a cup of tea together…and have a heart-to-heart talk…… I really loved your painting today…..another framer! ❤
I LOVE blue & green ❗ Almost every day & night I watch your channel on my nephews tv & cell. - Just letting you know that I haven't stopped my interests in your whimsical painting!! I'm SO happy the birdie flew out to his home. - Thankyou for looking after it. You will be blessed for your kind heart Diane. 🕊💕
Thankyou Diane. You are so inspirational. At times I feel depression prying on me and then I use my nephews cell to watch and listen to you talk. It feels almost as if you are speaking to me. (I suppose in reality you are. :) Thankyou for being so kind! I pray that your days have lifted you upwards. Love, from Lily 💜 Bfn xo
I found you quite by "accident" and I'm so excited! Your voice is calm and clear and your pallete colors are amazing! I'm going to paint along with you. I also agree with your thoughts about creativity and mental health. Thank you in advance for the time you put into these wonderful videos. You are helping me! God Bless you
Diane, I love to watch your posts at the crack of dawn…I find them therapeutic and very inspiring Your voice is so calming, it enables me to understand the flow of the process without being focused on control, probably why I also love your loose watercolour of florals and your abstracts an neographics, and the whimsical animals and of course todays doodling. A huge thank you from this beginner….I went into a bookshop yesterday and found a lovely book of Katherine Mansfield of flowers and plants…that’s my Easter gift to myself , as I looked at the beautiful colours I could see how they could all be water coloured loosely….you cannot have too many books on colour-can you….waffles of a beginner 😅…Made a lovely card for an elderly friend-using colourful yellows oranges and pink which she adored…she’s 98yrs old, spritely and mentally sharp as a tack - texts on her mobile…reads constantly, doesn’t have time to be sleeping in her chair… ❤ thought I would follow your inspiration today and use several tones of the pinks red yellow and muted purples -something for her - A5 size-see what happens. I never thought I could do anything with anything with paints, gel pens etc, bc of you and an another elderly friend (86 yrs an ex teacher) I’m not afraid anymore, I can empty out my mind, letting go of control. Thank you Diane-have a blessed day… 💚🐈⬛🐕🐏🐝🐔💚 thank you for sharing your bird rescue…that’s what I love about you, your compassion for the animal kingdom…💕🦄 🥝
Hi Mary and thanks so much for your interesting and helpful comments. I had forgotten about Katherine Mansfield but I’m so glad you mentioned her. I think I’ll try to get hold of some of her books of stories. Such a shame she died so young. I can’t have too many books, that’s for sure, and Kindle is a boon as well! Instant gratification! So glad you are enjoying the videos and the loose work we do - it’s the best way to get over a block, and honestly I often think the random paintings are more beautiful than the carefully engineered ones! Thanks again and have a wonderful paint-filled day! Xxx
I loved your honesty about what you are feeling and going through… It was therapeutic for me to listen to you and watch as you created a beautiful piece. I’ve done a little watercolor many years ago and never got into it but I loved the background you created and then doodled on top. Perfect mix. I’m inspired to go back and play. My husband had a stroke and God knows I need as many distractions as possible.
So sorry to hear about your husband and I do recommend that you pick up those brushes again. It’s the only remedy I know of for those feelings of sadness and even despair. I wish you all the best xxxxx
I hope you got some relaxation from doing this gorgeous painting Diane. You are a truly aspiring and kind ARTIST who cares for all gods beautiful creatures with so much love. I was so happy to read that the beautiful little bird pulled through. I send you all my love and thoughts to let you know that i and many of your followers care for you very much as you give us all inspiration and creativity every day. Love to you all. Xx 🥰🐏🦮🐈🐓🪶🪺💐
Thanks for sharing your thoughts. It’s inspiring to listen to you work through a less than wonderful day - all while providing us with another wonderful video!
My heart is so sad for you and your dear friend. He is truly blessed to have such a wonderful caring friend. I do love this painting, the colors are especially gorgeous together. The Uniball silver pen works as well as the gold, if you like silver. I wish the white would flow as nicely!
I’m so sorry for your friend. It makes my heart sad that he’s experiencing this. Thank you for your wonderful videos and for being the real artist that you are. ❤
My husband passed away a month and a half ago. Watching you paint makes me feel better. Prayers lifted up you your friend and for you and all involved. 🙏🏻❤️
Thank you for sharing this. I, too, am experiencing some sadness with not one but several losses and unplanned changes in a very short time period. I’ve painted just a background of swooshes so far. Oddly, I went to lighter colors, but evidently that was what I needed to do. Just doing the background has already helped. I’ll start doodling later today. Perhaps on my lunch hour. Again, thank you. Art and music can express the things we cannot articulate. Isn’t that a blessing?!
Loved adding the white daisies with gold centers. Made me think of fire flies bringing you light. My heart is wurh you and your friend. I celebrated my 80tg birthday in September. Feel young at heart.
Hi Connie, I’m sorry, I never replied to this message from you last year! Hope you get this one! I was just looking back through last year‘s videos to see what I was doing this time of year with a view to doing something similar this year. Sending you best wishes and hoping you are keeping well. Love from Diane 😘
I think it is very sweet that you came to your studio and painted a lovely picture and shared with us! I'm sorry you had to experience such an awful day. Spring is finally here in the north and I for one thought it would never come. Getting the itch to get my hands in some dirt! Your studio is wonderful! Oh, that precious bird...I hope she (or he) is truly fine. Looking forward to your next idea. We used to sign off in the 70's: "Keep on keeping on!" cas
Well done! I hope a load of joy follows this time of problems and it lifts you up. So glad the bird recovered , due to your help. I started painting my kitchen today. It's a creamy yellow should look nice with the freshly painted white cabinets and shelves of blue and white Chinoiserie do dads. Two friends came Monday and rebuilt the built in garage cabinets that had come apart last fall. Their kindness really touched me. I'll just keep plugging along and eventually the list of repairs and improvements will all be crossed off my list. Take care ❤
Hi Deb, thanks so much for your kind comments. You have reminded me that my kitchen needs painting! REALLY needs painting! Yours sounds so pretty! The hassle of keeping things in working order gets harder every year, doesn’t it!. We have too much land and the house is too big, but the idea of moving makes me shudder!
@@DianeAntoneStudio I find "one day at a time, sometimes one hour at a time" works for me. I work until my lower back or now sciatic nerve says " that's enough" so I sit and wc paint for a while, usually watching your videos. 😊 Getting old is not for sissies.
No, it’s not. I have a bit of a back problem too, which means I can’t bend down and do things at ground level as easily as I would like. You have inspired me about the kitchen repaint though. It must get done!
Thank you so much 😀 I just rescued another one which had been blown over and stunned by the wind. We have very high wind gusts today. I think the little chap is ok. He tweeted a „thank you“ as he flew away!
I have the same issue with a white pen, while my gold ink runs smoothly. Loved the painting and the chat. Hope your friend comes through his sad ordeal and can heal emotionally. Sadly, it’s definitely a life changing experience. We will hope [with you] for the best response possible.🕊
Thanks so much for your kind words and thoughts. I think Graham will probably pull his horns in a little and cut back on some of his risky activities now. Not before time!
Dear Diane, Thank you so much for sharing your art journey. And how you deal with life’s ups and downs. It’s truly inspiring. Your watercolors are so lovely. God bless you in this journey for all the good your doing for your fellow man.
I'm so sorry about your friend and can't imagine what he must be going through. Art helps and hope it helped you❤. My mom passed away in December and I have slowly getting back into art as she loved the paintings, drawings and cards I would make her. This painting is beautiful and I loved the colors. I pulled out my acrylics last weekend and did an abstract of a peacock. The colors you chose reminded of it. I'm glad the bird recovered 💖🙏
I recently lost my mom as well, after a few hard years of caregiving, and finding my way back to creating by learning watercolor for the first time. Art is truly a lifesaver!
Oh, Diane, I’ve just come across your most beautiful channel and contained within, the most beautiful artistic expression. A serendipitous moment for me in ‘being guided’ from my spirit team to also find solace and creative expression through this beautiful medium. Listening to your anecdotes, your pouring out of what casts a (temporary) shadow over you, confirms in me that you are a fellow empath, feeling deeply the emotions of others, even the collective emotions of a world going through a shift in consciousness. Blessings and heartfelt thanks to you for sharing your talent. I am now going to take the much procrastinated leap into watercolour painting. From a fellow, and newly retired educator, Lee (in Australia).
Hi Lee, and a warm welcome to the channel and my videos! Thank you so much for your kind words and your supportive thoughts x Wonderful to receive your message which resonates deeply with my own feelings about the world and our place in it. It is indeed deeply concerning to see so many people suffering mental anguish and not knowing what is happening to them. The least we can do is try to assuage the pain slightly with encouragement into the world of watercolor! Please enjoy your watercolor journey and I look forward to your future messages as you take the plunge/leap!!! Very warmest wishes, and congratulations on your retirement. Well deserved I’m sure xxx
Very melancholy and sad and understandably so. Yet you still produced a beautiful piece. I hope the injured person will be ok. My heart goes out to your friend. I could not imagine the huge stress that would place on him, only to liken it to how my dad, who is 80 and not a frail 80, would react. The colours you chose, as you would know, are calming and I hope they gave you some sense of quiet. Odd thing happened just as your video finished a bird flew into my outdoor blinds! I think it just stunned itself and off it went again. Puss and I were sitting outside and we both looked up as we heard the THUD. I was glad to read your bird recovered. Take care of you x
Hi Sharon, thanks so much for your kind message. Glad your bird was okay, they can be silly sometimes! I think our paper hawks will keep them away from our doors now!
Dear Diane, I am struggling a bit emotionally now as well.............life does seem to throw curves here and there, unfortunately. I am sorry you are feeling sad, but I am glad you are sharing even your "bad" days with us. At least for me, it is a comfort to listen and watch you......I am not much of a doodler, but sometimes I just do your backgrounds or make cards from previous paintings. For sure, it does help to TRY to forget what needs to be done in "real life" and escape into painting...........so thank you for helping me with that. (and oh my goodness, you are definitely not just a dilettante!🥰)
Hi Tracy, sorry you’re in a sad place right now. It definitely helps me when I paint and I know it does the same for many others. The thing is not to get into a blocked situation. Thanks for your kind words, all we need now is a bit of sunshine, and boy do we need it! The worst March I can remember!
Diane, I am so sorry for the dark cloud hanging over you and your friend, we never know why things happen, especially in these past few years where the world has just gone crazy. I am in America and we are not sure from one day to the next what we will face with our current crippled administration. I stumbled onto your channel and am in awe of your various paintings, I just love the free way you paint, it inspires me to pick up my watercolors again. I am glad the little bird will be ok and the sun comes out tomorrow, we are all in God’s caring hands. Thank you for sharing, I love your channel❣️
Thanks Brenda for your kind words. Now the only cloud hanging over us is the weather, which is absolutely foul here in France! Hope you are having a good day, and sending you God’s blessings and my thanks for your support xxx
Sending healing thoughts for you and your friend. I have also had two horrendous days,I have tooth ache and I took an overdose of pain killers, landed up in A&E where I was assured it happens to the best of us and more often than we think, anyway 5 hours lots of blood tests later I was cleared to go home ,today was the emergency dentist who can't do anything until the infection in two teeth has gone, then I have to go to a specialist because I have feather roots? Uggg she did offer to show me the x-ray I declined that nightmare , so I'm staying in bed watching you Diane your lovely voice and paintings calming me down ,Bless you ☺❤
Oh dear Anni, what a nightmare! I hope you’ve got antibiotics at least to clear up the infection? I’ve had several years of tooth problems so I know where you are coming from, it is awful. Keep watching the videos!!! Sending love, Diane xxx
I just love the colors you used! So calming! Poor guy....he must feel so terrible and you have so much compassion for your friend, he is bound to feel it and be comforted by it. Poor little green finch! I sure hope she/he makes it. Love the green birds on your doors...that will work!
Thank you so much Jeanie, Graham is feeling much better now, and the greenfinch did fly away happily so things turned out ok! Really appreciate your support and comments xxx

Thank you so much!
Yes! Leaves and trees are peaceful, while birds and sunshine are happy!! Oh my, my hand shakes most of the time but painting helps…miracle maybe??💕
That’s certainly a miracle. We keep praying for everyone xxx
Thank you for being real and sharing your feelings - it helps others feel they can do it, too. I hope your elderly friend is okay and that you are as well. ❤
Thanks Jill, he’s going to be fine x
Your imagination is what makes your art so very special
Thanks Pat, when you can relax and let it flow you know you’ve found it!
This painting needs to be hung up! It’s lovely!
No, you are an artist! I call myself an artist, and I'm a beginner. I've had a piece auctioned for a wellness group. I don't call myself a good artist. But I am an artist. You are a fantastic artist. Affirm it. Own it! ❤😂
Oh, okay, LOL if you insist!!!!! Thanks NYtalk60!
I’m so sorry for your friend. Aging makes so many things more difficult. The fact that you feel his trouble so deeply says more about your kind heart than anything❤And what you created in the midst of such unhappiness lifted others up…You are a gift.
Thanks Donna, you’re too kind xxx
Absolutely beautiful! Blows my mind that when God created the earth….He made soooo many different shades of green and blue and……well, I could go on and on….peace and joy to you from our Lord Jesus❤❤❤❤
Thanks so much Carol X
I'm so happy you were able to help the little bird and you'll be there for your friend too. I'm sure he'll take great comfort in knowing you are there for him in his time of need. Thank you for sharing.
I hope so too! Thanks so much for your kind words x
Thanks so much 😊 for your kindness Christine xxx Really appreciate your words x
Definitely better with blues and greens…if I could only have two colors forever they would most surely be blues and greens!
This painting should help to cheer us all a good bit!
Again it was a wonderful lesson in patience and understanding the positive thoughts painting brings. You do have a calmness to settle my mind. Love the steps to finish, creative joy which we all need. I love Kuretake paints, easy to use and the colors always spot on for me! Thanks for teaching, Karen Dirmish 0:30
My pleasure 😊 So glad you are enjoying the videos Karen!
You are a real artist, you are making things. Whether it is paint, clay, fiber, food, sounds, words...if you take what wasn't there before and make a "thing" you are an artist.
Thanks so much Sandy, I agree with you x
Thank you for a reminder that I don't have to over think creating art when my head isn't in the right place. This kind of painting is so therapeutic and calming, helping one to relax a little from stressful events in our lives.
I do hope that the friend you mentioned, will be okay ❤
Ll
You are so welcome Wendy. I am beginning to think that all paintings should be done like this, without any forward planning, so there can’t be disappointment or stress!
I could see your mood lifting as you progressed. Creating for the love of it rather than feeling as if you must is a good thing. Save the production for a day when you are lighter of spirit. May I say you’ve inspired me to take up painting again after a few fallow years…..stay well.
Love that!
Awe! Prayers for you and your husband. I totally understand what you are going through. Hang in there!❤
Oh Debra, that’s a big burden to shoulder. I hope that a little painting session helped you relax for a while. Sending you prayers 🙏❤️
Thank you Posie, you make things better!
I love it Diane! You made me smile with you painting and your chatting. Thank you and I hope everything looks a little better for you and your friend tomorrow. 🖌️🎨❤️
i don’t think that we “do anything” to cause difficult things to cone into our lives. it just is life. keep painting..🌸
You are a dear friend for him. Bless you for caring for him and sharing his feelings.
A sheet of paper is NEVER ruined by putting paint on it 🥰 Sure, you may not be happy with the outcome at times, but enjoying the process and relieving stress, anxiety, fear, what’re ever is nagging at you, is what’s important. Thank you for sharing this video Diane
Please excuse my ironic humour! Thanks so much for commenting and for your support Erin!
Thank you Diane, not only for your beautiful art lessons, but showing us how important art is working through difficult life events! For that you can call yourself an art therapist! I truly value you!
You are so welcome Susan and thanks so much for your kind comments, I‘m so glad to be able to be of help sometimes xxx
Prayers for your friend. One can never "waste" watercolor paper. It's purpose is to collect paint. Very nice video, and always remember to smile - even for 1 second!!!
So true! I like that thought!
Thank you, Diane.....you are so sweet to include us in your deepest thoughts. I am just learning that I can use paints freely without a huge involved plan! It's a great way to develop style and focus without struggle and pressure. It works to center the brain.
Yes, you’re right, it is a very healing experience xxx
You ARE a real artist.
You are painting with no plan or agenda except for expression and with creativity and heart. I love what you have created!
Priceless! I hope that your sad things pass and that the rejuvenation found by painting leaves and nature themes will provide their own healing for you
xx
Thanks so much Jane for your tremendously kind words of support. It means a great deal to both of us. I’m so glad you are enjoying and benefitting from the videos and it is my great pleasure to be able to share my paint splashes with you every day! Thanks again xxx
Hey 👋
Thank you so much 😀
New Subscriber here.
Thanks for sharing! Really appreciate your thoughts xx
Thank you so much!
Thanks so much Deb for taking the time to share this. I really appreciate it, and I’m so glad that the painting session was helpful for you xxx
Thank you Diane, for sharing this. It is timely for me as well. Something really lovely and calming is coming out of your sadness for sure!
Thanks Renee!! So glad it helps!
You are definitely a real artist and obviously a very good person who cares deeply about your friends! Take care of yourself!
Thanks so much Linda!
Oh, Diane! I'm so sorry that happened. It's so difficult to be in that situation and I understand your grief for your friend. I hope it resolves OK. Your art is beautiful and you are truly a 'real' artist! What beauty you created out of your concern for your friend!
Thanks so much for your kind thoughts xxx
What a fun painting! And pretty, too!
FYI: A debutante, in the old south(where I live),was a young lady ready to be presented to society. Basically, her father was saying to the world that she was ready for gentlemen callers. 😉
Only the elite could afford to do so.
I hope you're feeling better now. ❤️ You're such a dear one to be so concerned for your friend. Of course that doesn't surprise me a bit!
I'm also a bit sad/depressed today...maybe I'll finally be able to break that page now.! 😉😊
Blessings to you & Tamsin!
Much love,
Jacqui
❤
One of my all-time favourites, Diane - I’ve returned to it often. Especially love the embroidered embellishments and the soothing colours!
Hugs🤗🐾💙
Thanks Susan, you make a very good point and I appreciate your support, it means more than the possibility of hanging in the Louvre!! Happy painting!
I LOVE blue & green ❗
Almost every day & night I watch your channel on my nephews tv & cell.
- Just letting you know that I haven't stopped my interests in your whimsical painting!!
I'm SO happy the birdie flew out to his home.
- Thankyou for looking after it.
You will be blessed for your kind heart Diane. 🕊💕
That is awesome! So glad that you are still watching the channel!
Thankyou Diane. You are so inspirational. At times I feel depression prying on me and then I use my nephews cell to watch and listen to you talk.
It feels almost as if you are speaking to me. (I suppose in reality you are. :)
Thankyou for being so kind!
I pray that your days have lifted you upwards.
Love, from Lily 💜
Bfn xo
How wonderful about the little bird, thank you for letting us know it recovered and flew away ...
Just beautiful! It reminds me of the dawn light breaking through. Very calming.
Thank you so much!
Your a real artist in my eyes. Love everything you create, it speaks to my Soul. ❤
Thanks so much, I really appreciate your support x
I found you quite by "accident" and I'm so excited! Your voice is calm and clear and your pallete colors are amazing! I'm going to paint along with you. I also agree with your thoughts about creativity and mental health. Thank you in advance for the time you put into these wonderful videos. You are helping me! God Bless you
Thanks so much Ada and welcome to the channel, so glad you found us! Have fun, that’s the thing, and happy painting!
That's really beautiful.
I hope it made you feel better.
It made me feel better.
It does!
Xx 🥰🐏🦮🐈🐓🪶🪺💐
Thanks so much Vivienne I really appreciate your kind words xxx
Thanks for sharing your thoughts. It’s inspiring to listen to you work through a less than wonderful day - all while providing us with another wonderful video!
You are so welcome! Thanks so much for your support!
Prayers for you and your friend... Hope all works out well. Love to watch you paint!
Thanks so much
My heart is so sad for you and your dear friend. He is truly blessed to have such a wonderful caring friend. I do love this painting, the colors are especially gorgeous together. The Uniball silver pen works as well as the gold, if you like silver. I wish the white would flow as nicely!
Thanks so much Lori, yes I have the silver but I always forget it! Time for some silver next time!
I’m so sorry for your friend. It makes my heart sad that he’s experiencing this. Thank you for your wonderful videos and for being the real artist that you are. ❤
Thank you so much Jean, I really appreciate your support. He’s feeling a lot better now, thanks to everyone’s good wishes I’m sure.
I really like this design - it would make a beautiful embroidered cushion.
Great idea!
I hope you feel better soon, I know I’ve had a rough week and you and your painting made me feel happier. Hugs!
Thank you so much!
Love the colours, love your honesty about your feelings!
Thank you so much!
Saying a prayer for your friend that things will work out alright.
Thanks so much xxx
My husband passed away a month and a half ago. Watching you paint makes me feel better. Prayers lifted up you your friend and for you and all involved. 🙏🏻❤️
I’m so sorry for your sad loss Catherine, nothing harder to bear. Thanks so much for your prayers, and sending likewise for you in your grief xxx
Our prayers and thoughts are with you and your neighbor, and a hug'!,,thank you again for your help getting me back to painting
You are so welcome and I’m so glad you have found the way back ❤️
Thank you for sharing this.
Sorry to hear you’re going through things too Pam, I hope it resolves soon. Art definitely is a blessing, one of the greatest, I believe. Hugs!
Thanks for painting the blues away 🎨
My pleasure 😊!!
Thank you so much!
I love your studio! You are so kind to help the little bird. I love your artwork!
Thank you so much 😀 I just rescued another one which had been blown over and stunned by the wind. We have very high wind gusts today. I think the little chap is ok. He tweeted a „thank you“ as he flew away!
This painting looks especially stunning turned vertical with the leaves pointing up. I love what you did here 💜❤️💜
I have the same issue with a white pen, while my gold ink runs smoothly.
Please, do more of these, all your work is beautiful as an artist. I love this style.
Thank you! Will do!
Diane you truly are a wonderful artist.
Thanks Rosie, that’s so kind xxx
Dear Diane,
Thank you so much for sharing your art journey. And how you deal with life’s ups and downs. It’s truly inspiring. Your watercolors are so lovely. God bless you in this journey for all the good your doing for your fellow man.
You’re so welcome Chris, so glad you are enjoying the channel!
Thank you for sharing your feelings and your work Diana!
There's a quote I like feeling so bad. It says:
This too shall pass. ❤
Love that quote!
It’s a lovely painting …., your beautiful Spirit shines thru
Thank you for sharing
❤
It's a lovely painting, and it was very relaxing to watch it unfold.
Thank you so much 😀
That’s lovely. I hope it made you feel better.
I hope you chased away your blues. This is fabulous! ❤
I did I think, and partly due to so many positive comments! Thanks for yours also! Xxx
So sorry for your loss of your mom Lavinia. That is so hard. I’m glad you are painting and creating again, it’s the only way forward in our world xxx
Ps What a beautiful exercise in mindfulness and reflection. Xx
I love the variety of the leaves with the gold pen!
Lovely colours…nature helps sooth the soul whether painting it or going for a nature walk
Thank you so much 😀 you’re right! Waiting for it to stop raining for the walk!
Painting, doodling even writing helps the mood😊Thank you for this video.
My pleasure Chantal, you’re so right! 😊
Just looking at this beautiful painting should make us all feel out spirits calming. Hope you feel better. Thanks for sharing your awesome talent.
Thanks so much 😊 xx
I love what you do always, be confident that you bring joy to a lot of people who watch you, thank you so much 💕
You are so welcome!
It is calming to watch your video and listen to your soothing voice.Hope the little bird is ok .

This project is quite wonderful. Art lifts me, as well. Thank you for sharing this with us.❣
Glad you enjoyed it!
Thankyou for taking care of the little bird❤. I enjoy your tutorials very much!
Thank you so much Tammy! 😊
You are a real artist and a good human.❤
Thank you Lynne!
You ARE a real artist-- I admire and watch almost every tutorial and still can't get it right when I try!
Thanks Fran, appreciate that!
@@DianeAntoneStudio I'm so glad your friend is feeling much better, and the little green finch did recover and fly away! Yay! Thanks Diane!
