Watercolour - experiments doodles

- Опубликовано: 25 мар 2023
- Hello,
Thank you for visiting the Creative Cove today!
Here is a fun video on using watercolour and ink pen. It is a slow relaxing process. Kind of like a adult colouring book.
Sometimes it is nice to approach things in a different way. I still use a loose approach but instead of trying to draw something specific I just have fun with texture and patterns.
The overall effect is quite interesting. It teaches you about balance and harmony in a composition. I really enjoy the process and I hope you do to.
Happy crafting!

love your doodles. i'm taking notes for new patterns -- i especially loved how you treated the circles 😉 . thank you so much for mentioning my channel and the Danish Painter, whom i didn't know. (this is my 2nd comment because i can't see the first one i wrote. if it's a duplicate, i apologize). wishing you a lovely and creative rest of the day!
Thank you and Thank you for all you do on your channel you have thought me a whole new approach to watercolour but most of all you have thought me to trust and enjoy the process. 😊
@@thecreativecove6898 That's what it's all about. Paint what makes you happy. I just started doodling, when I don't feel like just painting. It's just so much fun and imaginative- one can "doodle" anything.
I am to, so cool.
We’re here to learn, so anything you teach we’re going to love.
Hey CeeCee, I thought this was your channel for a minute or ten. Had me confused. Hope you are well and thank you for all you do.
I love watching you doodle. And thank you for NOT adding music; that's a deal breaker with me when I'm choosing videos to watch. I'm here to listen to your voice and the light sounds of the pen across the paper. CeeCee is great too. 😊
Hello from Saskatchewan Canada 🇨🇦
Thank you 😊 i agree however some videos i like just music. I think for me it depends on my mood and the kind of music thats playing. Lol
me too! Not fond of music... I like to hear your voice.
Ceecee is amazing. I go back and rewatch videos, when I’ve had a stressful day. Her voice is soothing and her art is calming.
I love your art! Everyone is painting flowers or landscapes, except you and ceecee. I love the free style of your work.
Thank you so much. She really does have such a calm demeanour that makes you want to just relax and paint. 😊
Love love love….the color pallet is wonderful. What fun
Love the way you talk us through the work slowly … so many people talk so fast and move so fast… such a pleasure to watch you work. Thank you!
Oh I love your doodles. What a great way to use up your paint palette color too. Putting just the water color splashes in your travel journal for long road trips or wait times in doctor offices are great ways to pass the time with a white and black gel pen. Thanks for the inspiration. Oh I love CC too! Her videos are amazing.
So you know… this is exactly what I needed. I’m taking a pen and ink class, and the final project is mixed media. I wanted to do something abstract, unlike most of the other students, but didn’t know where to start. I haven’t used watercolor before, so your video is perfect for me. It’s much less intimidating than trying to draw a scene or an object. Thank you so much! I love the rest of your videos also.
It's rare for me to watch a long form video all the way through unless coincidentally it's Cece. I loved seeing your process. I feel like you make it very accessible with the explanation of your process. And I would also say that I have never worked along with anyone, but in this case, I am going to gather some supplies and do that as I rewatch your work. Your finished results are so stunning, I would hang any one of them on my wall. I really appreciated your sharing your process and the explanations of why you're making the choices you are. Thank you so much for sharing this.
I can’t wait to try this!! So glad I found this video. Thank you!
I love the convergence of watercolor and zentangles!
Watching the patterns grow is inspiring and relaxing at the same time.
What a wonderful lesson you gave us! Thank you and please do this more often. Can’t wait to play.
This is a gorgeous technique! Love your watercolours too. It's like an meditation in art. Thank you.
Actually no, it is not tedious because I went to my art room and doodled a random watercolor like yours, dried it, and am following along with you as you doodle. I am creating a very similar work and it is very fun! I feel like I am with you and receiving individual instruction. The other day I drew along with you to make little mushroom drawings, then did mushroom "houses" like yours! So cute! I just love to follow you and create similar doodles. My birds were not so great, but I can recreate most of the ideas you convey. You make it so fun, and the results I use in my junk journals.
Awesome!!! This all makes me so happy to hear. Birds can take a little practice so don’t be to discourage with them. You just have to keep sketching and feeling them out and then suddenly you’ll be drawing all kinds of birds. Like I said some times I can draw no problem and other day not at all. I also mentioned I can’t draw people well yet so I just keep practicing. 😊
I agree 100% w everything you expressed so very well!. Plus, I just watched as I couldn't paint along in the location I was in & I was delighted by the whole video and All of your comments. I'm a beginner w water colors & I find I get stuck on on the starting point. This lesson got me past that; it was very FREEING, especially with the addition of the pens which gives it new dimensions . prior to watching your video I had a wonderful experience that opened me up in a way that allowed me to fully appreciate & fully benefit from your instruction in this video. I tried to paint a single, large blossom of a butterfly bush from my garden. I just let myself go and used blues, purples leaving white space, and I bloomed, pushed & pulled the colors- then used small dabs of yellow and red on the center blooms. I cannot say how excited I became-- I was truly present and learning as I observed how the paints melded, and the colors interacted. I was not just following a tutorial - I guess it was a state of flow. I experienced that again JUST Watching YOU PAINT! I can't wait to paint along with you as soon as I am able ( having a bad flare up of my arthritis in my hands). Thank you for this video - it has reached me in a remarkable way & I am truly grateful !😊❤
I am intrigued.. I cannot watch it now but I am definitely going to watch it tomorrow! Can you please list or tell me about the fine-point ink pens you use? Are they waterproof? I am brand spanking new to this!
With those colors and the circles it put me in mind of an old map. Which I love. I haven’t painted in a year and this would be great way to ease back into it.
This video came up on my list today. I loved it. This method just excites my heart and tickles my brain. I can’t wait to pull out my watercolors and get started. I draw, doodle and tangle and have done so for years. I don’t know why it never occurred to me to do it wit watercolor. Everything in it’s time. Thank you so much. 😊
Ceecee is the reason I stopped fearing watercolour and painting in general. She is so inspirational. Love your video ❤️🙏🏽
Love your chat throughout. I’m learning and don’t even realize because you chat, bring us back to learning, chat, bring us ba…. Great teaching style❤
These pieces look so delicious and intricate, but freeing. I’m definitely going to play with this technique. 🌸
This is my favorite thing to do with watercolors. Helps you be in the moment without perfection. Thank you for the amazing video and beautiful pieces! ♥
Thank You for this video. I came upon it again and realized it was one of the first influences I saw "seriously" using doodling and mark making. Sooo relaxing! It changed where I was going, informed choices, and lighted inspiration! You rock! God bless!
Thank you so much! Loving your channel! Just started doodling after having admired it forever! Your channel is so helpful in so many ways!! Glad I finally found you!! My mind is going crazy with the jj tag possibilities! For bright colors in tags I also like Susanne rose art on RUclips, I just like her color choices for some things. I am making a fairy journal and find that lots of styles will help with that! I especially like your fairy houses and mushrooms! You are helping me so much!!💕💕
Beautiful. I played around with watercolor and found out I could do all kinds of drawings over it. I was so thrilled. This technique is just great for those who are afraid of water colors. I hope they will try it. Thanks for sharing.
Great tips. Your color choices are key. I've started as a scrapbooker and I'm transitioning into alcohol ink and watercolor. Color combinations and patterns are what makes or breaks the project and you seem to have a natural gift for both! Thank you for sharing your talent.
Love watercolor doodles! Great instruction. Thanks for sharing.💕
Thank you 😊
The two girls who love the gold! You and Cee Cee. She got me started painting again after over 40 years! Glad to see you build up her work. Have fun! It’s just beautiful!😎
Thank you for filming throughout this piece in real time. I agree with previous comments about it being therapeutic to watch you and hear your thoughts as you work. The finished piece looks so much more complicated. Truly enjoyed and will watch again and draw along with you😊
It's so relaxing to watch you and don't mind the rambling. Love the way it coming all together. I definitely need to try it.
These are so intriguing! They remind me of an atlas with the flow of Klimt. The contrast of the structured black and the flow of the colors! They are just beautiful! Thanks for showing us the process.
Love your paintings! I learn so much by watching you and CreationsCeeCee.
Thank you so much for sharing❣️
This is very interesting. I plan to watch more of your videos and hope to try this technique soon. Thanks for sharing!
Yes! Love this demonstration. It’s going to get me going back to pen and ink with watercolor.
You have brought me back to the folio I put together over a weekend as part of my application for acceptance to a school of industrial design in the Toronto, Ontario, Canada area eons ago. I was accepted on the strength of that portfolio but not before a failed attempt to convince me I needed to consider fashion design! As I recall there were prerequisite guidelines which challenged me. What a delight both to create for my application and be accepted but also to stretch myself creatively. It’s been inspiring.
I love the idea of this project! I am totally inspired and can't wait to do this myself.
now, these are beautiful!!!not just "doodles", but, it has a form! thenx for showing!
I am definitely going to try this! Love doodling patterns, and it looks great on the watercolors. Thanks for the idea.
Such inspiration! Thank you for sharing and yes, would love to see content around balance composition. Love your artistic style and way of communicating.
I def will try this technique. Love the contrast of the loose painted watercolor background and the tightly controlled doodle patterns that add interest and definition to the piece. Thanks for sharing your expertise in such a lovely project!
Loving this doodling pattern! Can’t wait to try it! Looks so relaxing!
Thank you for doing your video in real time! I enjoyed watching you build your paintings and seeing ‘how you think’ when you’re working. Please continue to do your videos this way! If it’s to slow for anyone, they can use the skip function. Love your work!!!❤️
I like the long form videos. And I love your process. Thanks for sharing and please keep ‘em coming!
WOW....just now found your channel and I am SO HAPPY I did! Will watch every video today as I possibly can, and look forward to seeing more from you! Thanks! Keep painting happy!
I’ve only just found your channel but am already hooked! I’m pretty useless at painting but I can do this. You really are an inspiration to us wannabes who have no talent but who like to mess with paint, pens and pencils. I also find it therapeutic.
Hey, you dont need talent to be good at art! Not every artist is born talented - they just work harder to develop and hone their skill. You CAN do it, dont give up!
I am a kindergarten educator and we just introduced our littles to watercolor painting and the technique behind it. They loved it! Glad I have found you! I will start incorporating into my world of junk journalling! Have a wonderful day!
Thank you - I’ve been doing landscapes in Oil Paints for awhile now - but I LOVE playing with gouache when I’m painting outside in my sketch book - and have been experimenting with water color and drawing .. this is perfect and sooo much fun. I need some creative activities that I can use as warm up’s too .. before I place my brush on a painting I’ve been working on for hours the prior day .. I need to get warmed up - creatively !!
I love this! Thank you for your very inspirational video. I now know what I’m going to do with my new box of watercolour paints I was given for my birthday! I used to paint years ago and am very rusty - this fun approach is a whole lot less daunting than trying to paint landscape or still life! Thank you. 🙏
So relaxing to watch this. I definitely will be trying this
Amazing achievement Rachel, and well deserved 🎉❤. I love today’s tutorial, and another project that I haven’t made before. Can’t wait for the collaboration!
So glad to have stumbled across your videos. This is just so therapeutic. Thank you for making one of these.
I am enjoying your style…also enjoy Ceecee. Love your commentary as you create! Thanks for sharing.
I love watching you…..I’ve just completed a background using similar colours to you and I’m waiting for it to dry……
I usually do geometric shapes and ‘follow the shades of the watercolours.
I’ve learned loads from you. my real love is painting loose flowers and you have inspired me to try and doodle some flowers now. thank you x
I love your style of watercoloring, right up my alley. I have fone a lot of zentangle and i love that so will work perfectly with that. I learned too how doing lines and doodles helps you to draw. Have enjoyed your flowers and watercolor panes too.
Absolutely love this! can't wait to try it!
This looks so fun that it inspired me to pull out my watercolors and start prepping some sheets so I can add inkwork tomorrow! Thanks for sharing these techniques.
I love your style! I cannot wait to give it a try. It’s very soothing and calming to watch you work and color in!
It's not tedious! It's awesome! Thank you! I needed this. So fun and beautiful too!
YES I enjoy watching every video as I learn so much from watching. TYFS. Hope the house is coming along!
Sooo glad that I found you….. just the type of artwork I like to do for my card making. I follow Creationsceecee already and agree totally with you. Such inspiration. Thank you.
I'm going to try it! It looks fun and relaxing.
Love this! I have a page drying now and watercolored over a doodle page in my doodle book where I am doodling and painting over book pages. Fun!! Thank you for the inspiration!
Fun and informative video. Thank you…I love what you did.
Oh my goodness.. I'm new to painting and watercolors are my favorite. This is so fun to watch and I can imagine it is fun to do.! I can't wait to do these..! I just need to go purchase some doodle pens.!! Thank you.. I think I can do this without so much fear building up..!! jo
I loved this video, I didn't mind that it was all done in real time. I was painting, doodling right along with you...very relaxing. Something I will do whenever I run into a creative block. I also think these will make awesome backgrounds for some of my greeting cards! Thank you so much.
This video is everything I wanted and needed on this day. I’ve already been loving doodling in a zentangle sort of way but adding my new-found love of watercolor…icing on the cake. Thank you a bajillion times over for this video gift.
Thank you so very much
What a fab idea! Nice to see something different!
I have watched this again after following along with another of your videos. This time your mention of different geometric shapes made me this of something I learned in Neurographica. Circles represent safety and harmony. Squares represent solidity and firmness. Triangles represent energy and focus. I think that is why most of us like circles. Thanks for your videos.
I love what you've done with the watercolor painting!
Love this. Thank you for the inspiration. I love to doodle.
Love it! I love almost anything watercolor!
I love it!!! The colors and doodles, it‘s great! Thank you for inspiration! I will try it!
Love how these turned out!❤
I absolutely love this technique. I am going to use it with my art therapy clients. Thank you!
I absolutely love this. I'm going to give this ago. Thank you for sharing. Also, very relaxed watching you. X
Love what you do! Will definitely give this a try!!!
I am so glad I found you! I love doodling over abstract watercolor. I hadn’t seen anyone else use a uniball signo pen to draw black lines around where the water color changes shade. I love doing that. I found Ceecee before I found you. I also really enjoy Laura Horne. She does watercolor and acrylic and does mark making too. I’m also glad you don’t add music in. I like your pacing and appreciate all of your instructions and tips. I’ll be checking out the Danish Painter. Thanks for the recommendation.
Love circles so these doodles are my fave so far! Your videos have helped so much. I broke my left hand, so I've been training my right hand to art 😮 With this loose, organic painting style, and the imperfect-perfect doodling, it's really helping me! Great hand/coordination exercise that ends with art.
I’ve watched this video over and over again. I love this kind of doodling. Would certainly love seeing more of these types of compositions. I love your idea of exploring further “balanced compositions”….
This is just what I was looking for! Thanks for the lovely session.
This was such fun to watch. I'm a beginner and bookmarked it, so will try it in the future. I think metallic permanent markers would be beautiful on this.
I lovr this exercise of doodling. These are so interesting and mysterious when you look at the finished projects.. Yes I will definetly try this!! Thanks for the fun video. Hugs.
Great doodling samples and love CeeCee! TFS the inspiration!
I watched you yesterday and thought what fun so today I’m doing it again listening to you while I doodle. Love hearing you it’s like having a friend right here. Thanks so much!
Loving what you are creating with water colour. Just started playing with them and loss the time, just so relaxing. Great teraphy.
You are inspiring me so much! As soon as my shoulder heals a bit so I can hold the brush, in two months maybe, I’m trying this! Thank you so much for your talents!
You are awesome too...l love both you and Ceecee. I just started and having so much fun learning from both of you. Thanks so much for sharing. 🌿💕🌿
I absolutely love this idea! It's nice for when I don't have a solid idea and just want to lay down paint.
Love the doodle over your watercolor, I’m going to give it a try
Oh this is beautiful, and so very inspiring! Being the doodler I am, I can’t wait to try it. Thanks so much for the inspiration!
Bonjour 👋
Wouahhh comme c'est joli !
Merci pour la vidéo
Yesterday I was telling my boyfriend about your videos and how I love the fact there’re not edited. They’re organic, authentic and natural, which I feel is what the internet is missing. I always left your videos felling so inspired, thank you for that!
Hugs from the Atacama Desert, Chile! ❤
These are gorgeous! Can't wait to try it!
LOVE,LOVE,LOVE this technique..so much inspiration and so many ideas in my mind...I love your doodles..the colors you chose, everything about this..truly...Thank you!! xo

When I first saw your intro I thought holy moly. I wish I could create like that. I created along with you and because of your awesome tutorial. I was able to achieve a piece I like. Who knew. I am hooked. Thank you so much for your great instruction. Had a lot of fun. 😁👍
Ceecee is a favorite of mine as well. I love this tutorial and your style. Thank you for this.
