Kohler SV610-0212 engine
It takes a minute to diagnose but it is a nice, easy fix!
It is not the solenoid or the starter!

About Us:
My name is Martin. I have been repairing tools and small engines for almost 20 years. We operate a small engine repair shop in Illinois. We service / repair Briggs & Stratton, Kohler, Kawasaki, John Deere, Cub Cadet, Toro Tecumseh, Loncin, Honda, Craftsman, Husqvarna, MTD, Troy Bilt, Simplicity, John Deere, Exmark, LCT, Generac and many more brands. We work on riding mowers, walk behind mowers, snow blowers, zero turns, generators, pressure washers and much more. We normally repair about 3,000 pieces of equipment every year and look at many more that are beyond an affordable repair. Hopefully our videos will save you some money and give you the information you need to work on your own equipment or figure out the issue at hand.

Thanks I was having the exact problems and followed the video and it 100% worked and solved the ticking in the solenoid. Then started right up. Great easy to follow video where you dont need to be an auto electrician.
Awesome news! Great job. Really glad to help!
Very informative. Clear, and concise explanation. Helped my understanding. Thankyou Sir.
Thank you for watching!!
Great video, I had a hard time troubleshooting bc mine ended up being the power cable, it would show good voltage sometimes and other times not. Replace the power cable from battery to solenoid and everything was good to go.
Don't see that often but any bad wires could always be the problem. Glad to got it going!
IR thanks!
Bought a used Husqvarna just like the one in this video.
Your instruction got me a clean cut lawn.
'The Big H' was in need of some attention. Yes I got 'The Big H' running thanks to your detailed video.
But what do need I to look for?
Some common issues and repeat repairs?
Keep an eye on the sump/engine bolts, valve cover/head gasket and you should be good. Thanks for watching!
Great video. Best one on the matter, far as im concerned.
Glad to help! Thanks for watching!
Bad ground to frame is what I found today on one
Used jumper cables for fast tester
Clean ground to frame
Fixed in 15 minutes
I get this same issue a lot, especially on the ones that have the ground coming to the engine mounting bolt. This is so often overlooked by many!
Nice video I think you would have found the problem by using the voltage drop method . You would have found the drop at the positive terminal to the positive wire when you turned on the switch to start with the jump pack on the battery any drop more than .5 to 1 . All test can be done with the voltmeter with one lead with the other connected to the battery either positive or ground searching for the drop either side B+ or B- side Green crusty strikes again CHEERS
This is a little more complicated for people to understand in my experience but it definitely can be tested like this! Thanks for watching!
nice
Thanks for watching!
i am having the exact problem, and i started at the battery thinking it was dead, so i hook it up to my charger, and only after a few minute's it said it was fully charged. so i thought it could be the starter motor or the solenoid, so i replaced both, and still the same problem. so this hole time, it's most likely the battery. dammit why could i find this video before i bought new parts. O well, thanks for the help
I hope you get it taken care of! Thanks for watching!
@IndRepair well after going the mechanic shop and trying what you did expect taking the egnition module apart, it didn't work so i told the mechanic and he believes its the module, and thinks there is a recall on it but has to check to be sure.
Awesome! Did they get it all fixed up for you?
I've seen soooooo many problems with those Courage motors.... less problems with the 7000 series
That is for sure but the valve cover gaskets on the 7000 ugh just sell a gasket!!!
Engine sounds toasty. Always start with a good battery and solid connections or you will chase your tail.
That is for sure!
Zereoturn are better!😊
They normally are yes!
Maybe, unless you need to pull a cart or aerator...
