I worked for Buck at two of his stations. I grew up in the 60's watching the Buck Owens Ranch Show on KPHO-TV 5 on Saturdays. My dad introduced me to Buck, and I always respected and liked Buck. Shortly after my father passed away of cancer, Buck put on a show to benefit cancer research. Buck was a greater entertainer then a lot of the folks considered. Thank you Buck for the opportunity and the music you left behind. RIP!
Not a Travis Barker fan, don't know any of his music, but can say without a doubt he nailed it and he did it with enthusiasm. He didn't look anything like the other musicians, and I think it's great.
Travis Barker is part of a punk rock group called Blink-182, he is the furthest thing you would think of in regards to a country music and I absolutely love it. The simple fact that this man genuinely loves every single designer he touches just let you know that he has a true appreciation for the craft of drums. He in no way will scoff at anyone ask him to play on a track because he's seriously has the mind of an iPod. He'll listen to Hey William song One Moment and then a Buck Owens track the next and then go straight to Blink-182 and he loves all of it. People always say they love everything but country, Travis Barker literally loves everything including country. I will admit I laughed my butt off when I saw him playing because it was humorous to see a punk rock drummer in a country music tribute, but you know what I wouldn't have it any other way because it just shows you how far-reaching country is. I mean if Miranda Lambert's bass player can look like a punk rocker and still jam on country like it's nobody's business, why can't Travis Barker be there? I mean he literally looks exactly like the bass player from Miranda Lambert's band.
it was kind of wierd to see Travis on the drums...but its cool and nice to see how Buck Owens infuenced so many different musicians in alot of different genres..i mean you had rock, punk, and of course country musicians colaberating together to celebrate the music of one of the greatest of all time...Awesome performance

it's amazing to me how big names from other genres can come together and jam with each other in a tribute to someone they loved and respected and how people on the internet can just disrespect that. Buck Owens was great and everyone performing in this video did a wonderful job. also I always thought Dwight Yoakam could sound like Buck when he wanted to.
As a young kid I lived in San Diego and Bakersfield was a family joke because my aunt lived there. In 1980 I had to go to work in Bakersfield and it was a joke. I was there a month before I realized there were mountains near by , the dust hid them. What I did find were very nice people not at all assuming like the rest of SoCal, more country music than I could ever stand and the very best Mexican food on the planet. 40 years later it’s a big city, I haven’t been back but all of my memories are the finest of crazy people tubing on the Kern river, looking for snakes and just enjoying the hell out of life. Good for them!
Great Video! Very nice tribute to Buck Owens. R.I.P. Mrs. Buck Owens... This is what country music is all about. Not like this slick Nashville garbage sound we hear now. There's NO POP in my country....I'm just one of millions of true country music fans that feels this way.
