Does the mud need to be the same consistency as the pre-slope or is it drier?
Yes it is the same. If your previous result had sand you may need to put a little more water but not much and mix it mix it until it can be worked with.
Did you pick up the sticks from the wet side of the wall to your line when you were add the sand mud?....or you left them under the line ?
Yes only for the sticks that I need to be adjusted to the line. You should put mud under these sticks. You can also do it without it.

@@DavidM-ee2fz Follow exactly what I did. Take your time with the mud and make sure your maintain slope and if you do it on a concrete you must use modify thin set before you apply the mud:

You can buy the stick from Amazon or Floor and Decor. I bought the mortar from Floor and Decor but you can also buy it in Loews. The Mortar is manufactured by Mapei Company.

How many bags of mortar did you use on this shower pan?
I beilive 2 bags but it depends on the size of the shower.

what can of mortar you use for base
This is a special mud that contains 1 part cement to 4 part sand.
@@josephk9182 in other videos i see people using QUIKRETE 60-lb Sand/Topping Mix. Its $7 for a 60# bag. MAPEI 4-to-1 Mud Bed Mix 55-lb is $18 per bag.
Have you used the quickrete and would you recommend? also how many bags did this shower base take? ( if you remember) .Thanks for the great video!
@@nailher78 I used QUIKRETE products for other application. I am not sure if the QUIKRETE Sand/Topping Mix is 4 sand 1 cement. I believe is 3 to 1. You will need to call manufacture and ask. If it is not 4 sand 1 water you should add sand as needed. I used Mapei 4 to 1 and it cost $12 dollar. Price went up because of the demand.
Ive watched a ton of shower videos...youre the best although i wonder, did you put the line (40 mil liner) right on the plywood or did you pre pitch it before this video?
