Cheap Lazy Vegan I just found your videos and you're a life saver! I'm on a very tight budget and Vegan or even close to is usually out of my range but your advice is such a help.
Not sure who complained about only 5 days but clearly they don't meal prep. Most people who meal prep, meal prep for the work week and cook on their days off. So 5 days is standard.
Madie maybe so but the video title clearly says full week. I didn't even notice until you said anything but I can see how somebody would be pissed off that 5 days is equated to a full week. There's no point of making full week capitalized if it's not really a full week. Your point is still received though.
Aly Richardson I was about to say maafe is one I learned about this when I was looking up African recipes to try for my kids and I ran across maafe I thought to myself “blacks and Africans aren’t too different the only difference was the peanut butter” but the again I wouldn’t know if my grandparents or great grands ever made peanut stew or maafe it’s one of those things I will never know
Lol. I ended up staring at a tomato while making a peanut butter and banana sandwich for my son yesterday, thinking "Peanut butter and tomato? Why does that sound so good? I guess I have to try it." Anyway, it was really good. Nevermind bananas. And thank you for leading me to the tomato pb recipes that I was bound to be looking up.
Girl, you have the most perfect timing. I was literally sitting here thinking, "How the hell am I going to manage two weeks of food with a $50 budget?" These ideas will help immensely.
You can do another $20 challenge. But also use what you had leftover from the week before. For example: You had a lot of leftover black beans and lentils. So this week you won't have to purchase them. Now you have a little more for more fruit and veggies.
muther freaking creative! Not the most delicious looking food, but dude, when I was broke as fuck looking for anything to get me by, this would have been GODSEND. You fucking rock.
This was wonderful! We can free up at least $5 for another week's shopping by not having to buy staples such as beans, lentils, rice, and oats because there were some left over. There is the money you need for some fresh veggies and fruit. Thanks for the inspiration!
I'm not vegan, but THANK YOU for coming up with something feasible on a small budget. Every now and again I incorporate more vegetarian and vegan dishes in my repertoire, and I respect your resourcefulness. It's annoying when someone says something like "Vegan's not expensive! Okay so buy this $9 jar of almond butter to make this one dish." like, really??? Anyway this is great and has me inspired, thanks again.
What person would say "Vegan is not expensive" and then tell you to buy $9 of almond butter? that makes no sense. A jar peanut butter is $2-$3 for over 10,000 calories, and this jar can last weeks.
I agree with you that most people have spices on hand, so I wouldn't have been upset if you had included some in your recipes. I think the thing about this challenge that people like best is seeing what food you can get for a certain amount of money and how creative you can be with that food. I'm going to generalize here, but most people have pantry items that do not get purchased every week and are then incorporated into meals.
TIPS! (For if you don't have a food processor) If you put the pb in the bowl first and add in your liquid in steps while you mix it with a fork your mixture comes out smooth. 1.add on 2.add splash of liquid 3.mix 4.repeat steps 2 and 3 interchangeably until done (the peanut butter might seize up and become harder to mix. Idk why but it's done that to me before but just keep adding. Use water if you run out of your base or don't want to add to much of something like soy sauce, but want it thinner.) Also: Beans and lentils are easier to smash by hand when they're warm. (If you don't have a masher and your batch is too big to even bother trying to use a fork, use your hands!) (I've done it, it's not weird promise. These are back to basics my friends.)
I have IBS so it means no onion or garlic for me. I use some onion (or garlic) oil. You place an onion in a jar, and add oil. Place it in the fridge and use it for cooking. Give some onion taste without the abdominal pain it causes.
Ran over budget and was freaking out trying to figure out how to feed myself for the rest of this month until I remembered this video! I originally came to this channel years ago for vegan options without a budget in mind, but this is keeping me from going hungry this months and I'm very grateful. It's especially hard to figure out how to get in produce and vitamins so this was a lifesaver :)
Yes Please do another with more veggies & fruit!! Yes people usually have spices if not at least salt & pepper can be found at most dollar stores as a duo pack for $1!!
Dore Love Oh yes! I also buy raw black beans, pinto beans, sometimes navy & kidney beans there too... oh & canned coconut milk as well as some other items!
I noticed that you had a difficult time getting the peanut butter off the spoon. If you spray the spoon with cooking spray before scooping up the peanut butter it should come right out without having to scrape it out.
sure you got this message but on over night oats add milk night before meal to the one you'll eat and you can then make 7 jars. also if i use berries for oats i like to freeze until i add the milk.
Lithostoic hope you are doing well now! Hoping you have found your own form of stability and happiness, whatever that means for you. 🙏🏽❤️ sending love.
First Last Well, the goal is to do this all on a budget, so it makes sense to try to use the same ingredients if possible. Especially if you're cooking for only one or two people since most stuff comes in decent packs to feed more people than that.
😆😆😆 yeah, good point, well like most fast food companies, in example, Wendy's making chili out of the extra cooked hamburgers at the end of the night for a fresh batch of chili the next day. It's better for them to use it to make something else that's tasty that offers something a bit different than most places do and it's not failed their company yet, it's been a huge seller and there's little to no waste. At least with this food prep you aren't getting any SAND filler in the mystery meat like you do at Taco Bell.
Omg this was amazing!!!! I used to think I had to spend $100/week for a household of two and like honestly this food is more than substantial! This video proves that it's NOT expensive to be vegan. (Although I am vegetarian because I love eggs too much) I would love to see more Asian inspired vegan meals!!!!!
Five years later, and this video has inspired me to use what I've already got in my kitchen for the next week of eating. I've already got way more food stocked up than what was used in the video. I'm very grateful to have enough food. I'll be making overnight oats. And, I've got the Maple syrup... plus hemp seeds, plus flaxseed meal.
I'm really surprised with the amount of food you made! That was incredible how you managed to make so many different recipes with some ingredients. Congratulations! hugs from Brazil
You might not want to try this if you're going vegan for the first time. You'll definitely not be getting enough variety of nutrients since she couldn't get a lot of fresh veggies or fruits.
I've never risen from my chair before to start cooking a recipe I saw on RUclips, but those peanut butter oat cookies sounded so good and easy to make that I couldn't resist. They are in the oven now and I'll continue watching the video ;)
This is really cool!! Trying to get a job so I can afford my own groceries and finally go vegan. I'm part time vegan whenever I can afford it, but most of the time I have to eat what I can get. This gives me some ideas though since I already have most of these things in the kitchen! My favorite thing is buying a little pouch of taco seasoning and mixing it in with rice, beans, and veggies. Super easy and delicious!
This video should be called, "How to put Peanut Butter in Literally Anything" Lol. JK. Still super helpful and it can be adjusted to your own personal taste. I just hate peanut butter. 😂 And almond butter is like 7-12 US dollars per jar.
Shannel Ford I usually make my own, and it costs about the same for me when i buy nuts in bulk or by the pound. So i usually just wait for them to go on sale then i buy them and put then in the freezer.
Vannesa Garcia understand that completely. I usually find them for significantly less in bulk and it makes MUCH more. I am sure that depends on your area as well..also with homemade you know exactly what is inside your butter..burger
hey! I encourage you to try buying your products zero waste :) You can do this buy buying these products in the bulk food section, and using jars/ reusable baggies instead of the given plastic bags. Not only is it *cheaper*, but it’s also saving the environment!
Marie Johnson question about using your own jars/reusable bags, do most stores let you do that??? For bulk foods. I know they let you use your own grocery bags lol
Beesweetbeeyou yes at bulk barn they weigh the jars/containers that you bring in before your start shopping. Also many health food stores with bulk sections do this. If they don’t you can encourage them to by asking about it :)
Wow, Rose! That's pretty damn creative! I bet PB and Tomato tastes good! Sweet, salty and acidic....yum! I also 110% admire your commitment to the $20 only aspect; however, since most people aren't starting from scratch in their kitchens, maybe give yourself a little leeway next time? So, instead of actually having to spend some of the $20 on things you and most viewers might already own, like soy sauce and peanut/nut butter you could use it on fruits and veggies? Like a list of the ten most common spices/seasonings used. I think if you'd had nut butter, soy sauce, onion powder, garlic powder, Italian seasoning, chilli powder, cumin, cinnamon, curry powder etc as a list of staples in your pantry, you could have gotten even more variety out of these already creative and yummy meals! I've seen other videos that take this approach and it helps stretch that budget a little further. Great video as always! Thanks! ❤
Lara Pierce whenever I see these types of videos and the RUclipsr takes that approach, they get a lot of shit in the comment section from people who don't normally keep those things on hand.
I guess the RUclipsrs who use pantry staples can suggest their viewers could add one pantry staple a week or one staple every other week or something until they had a collection of staples. I do like that Rose stuck with starting from scratch.
Maddie Holt i used to eat more fats than carbs and rarely ever ate protein. i was incredibly overweight with those choices. since i decided to be vegan, i also decided to be more conscious about micronutrients and switched to a high carb, low fat diet and let me tell you, i dropped weight so quickly!! i know it’s different for everyone but i feel like the “carbs make you fat” narrative is just damaging.
Maddie Holt yes it had a decent amount of carbs but it also has a ton of protein and fat. So it’s balanced enough that it really shouldn’t cause problems because the protein and fat will give you lasting power.
Jess Personal The average working class person doesn’t have time to think all this shit out. Working class people work harder and earn less than most other people so they don’t have the time to worry about ethical consumption when they’re just trying to survive. Good vegan praxis means not being classist and dropping the politics of purity. How the hell do you expect your movement to amount to anything when you constantly alienate working class people by saying shit like this? Don’t take this as an attack or anything, I know when people cuss over the internet it makes it sound more intense than it needs to be but I’m not angry, I understand where you’re coming from. I wasn’t raised to think this way, I learned it because I needed to if I wanted to live in the real world and talk about veganism in the real world I needed to learn empathy and have an understanding of the circumstances and societal barriers that lead people to consume the way they do. Fuckin go watch mexie, she knows more about this than I do. Build solidarity with your working class family, friends and coworkers. Discourage elitism in your vegan social circles. That’s all u gotta do.
As a fellow Canadian viewer, really appreciate this since some of the things that they have in America is not easily available in my area since i live in a small town... Thanks for this meal prep video!
I like peanut as much as the next guy but dang girl lol. Thank you I'm new I'm trying to convert to being a vegan and I'm on a budget. This helped a whole lot. Keep up the great work😊
Rachel Lee -- can you make your own "sriracha" with peppers and garlic? I once made harissa with soaked dried mild red chilies, and it was out-of-this-world good.
I really liked this. I like my burgers, wings, etc., too much to ever give them up completely. However, I do need to eat a healthier diet and save some money. I plan to limit the amount of meat I eat on a weekly basis and make more meat-free meals.
Great video as always. Kale stems are edible; I use them in soups and stir fries sorta like celery. They take longer to cook than the leaves, so I strip the leaves like you do, then use the stems separately. In your meal plan they could be added to the frozen vegetables when you sautéed them.
I recently lost my job so I guess I'll be needing this video. I have no savings and only $130 in my checkings acc with no clear job in the near future. I actually want to die. But I'll try this first I guess.
i dont know whers u live, but see if they have a plasma donation center near u. they pay u everytime u donate and u can go twice a week. its how I've been buying groceries and gas for a few weeks now.
I just got laid off last week too friend, I'm very lucky to be getting unemployment. But since I've $8 bucks in the bank account I do eat like this. Save as much of that $130 that you can for as long as you can! I can make that little bit last me longer than a month in food.
Thank you so much for this! I bought everything but the soy sauce, peanut butter and kale (I hate kale so I got spinach instead) yesterday and I'm so excited to start today 💕💕
I just found this video and it was really helpful! I would love to see a slightly less low budget one. Assume you already have spices, syrups etc in your cupboard (as long as they're easy to get hold of and fairly inexpensive). Make the budget $30 or $40 a week. Not so much meal prep all at once, because I prefer fresher food, but maybe clips of how you cook and prep throughout the week. I would love to see that. If you have already made this video, sorry! I just found your channel! I'm going to go look for more of your videos now ➡️
this is amazing!! i’m trying to save money and i’ve been trying to transition back to veganism for like a year now, and your video is by far the best cheap meal prep :) you got so creative and these meals actually look filling and tasty :) i love how you approach it with a positive attitude as a fun challenge when many youtubers look at it as a struggle
You are the type of vegan I like. You help and explain how to meal prep and budget, rather than just sit and complain. I'll try to be vegan on this, and who knows I might keep it up longer. 💜💜💜
350 degrees F for around 12-15 minutes, flip half way. sorry, i should've been clear, I have the recipe instructions written on my blogpost (link in description box). thanks for watching, love
Yum, Yum and YUM..... I need to start meal prepping more! That is the key to eating right and saving money. Thank you so much for showing us all these easy and tasty recipes. I'll be busy in the kitchen again this weekend! My problem during this holiday season is my sugar intake from all the goodies. Meal prepping will hopefully help. Thanks Rose for all of your creative energy. You are so much fun to watch. Happy Holidays!
You can cook lentils in a rice cooker. About 3 parts water to 1 part lentils. Little less on the water. This will give you a consistency close to lentil soup. Adjust as needed.
Loved this! Lentils and beans that were left over could be frozen and used the following week; the cooked brown rice could be used to make rice milk. I'm glad to see there was a lot of past leftover because I definitely eat more than that. One thing I'm ignorant about, if anyone could answer is: what happens to the nutritional value of these meals after being frozen for a few days?
Wow! I'm impressed, your vegan cooking is simple for me to get started on a vegan diet but mostly looks so delicious 😋 inspiring cos thinking of going vegan for health! Thanks! Btw, I'm proud Canadian too 😉 even though living now in Greece!
Just super big thank you..I'm not a vegan, maybe someday. But I haven't cooked a single meal with meat in the past 5 months. This video is soooooo d**n simple. Subscribed and wait for more.
Maple syrup is suuuuper expensive where I live BUT I found an affordable alternative!! Coconut supar has a maple syrup flavour and is something like 50% fibre! I use it as a sweetener instead of maple syrup when I run out or can't afford the liquid sweetie 😉😍👍
Thanks for this video...I did almost everything today and it's really good and tasty... my daughter adores the lentils and beans patties... I adored everything...thank you so much 👏👏
Monique Jeffs most sugar is made with bone char. It's not listed as an ingredient but generally if the sugar isn't labeled as vegan you can be pretty sure it's not. I don't really know why it's necessary but i do know some sugar companies dont use it!
I stumbled upon the video and have been trying some of your stuff. I am impressed with how easy and fast your recipes are! You are quite inventive and have a knack for taste! Great job girl!
Well because of you I need to make bean/oat burgers so I definitely need one lol. Oh thanks for the recommendation (I've had a look and it's a bit out of my price range but thank you) And cheers for the inspiration as always. Your lipstick looks beautiful btw
Sooooo I've been watching your videos forever. I just moved to Israel and your videos are almost more helpful here. The kitchen I have is really small and I use a plug in burner top. Your recipes are so amazing and get me out of my tiny kitchen so fast! Ugh thank you for existing!
tip for the parchment paper; you can use a silicone reusable baking sheet to save money as well. you can use it for like 6 months so it's probably better for the environment as well!
star rabbit prince finally! Yes I'm super allergic like can't even have it on my skin or I break out in a rash and if I eat my throat closes but every vegan breakfast has banana in it! 😂
You can actually use it as an egg replacement, but i wouldnt replace more than one egg cause I feel it gets to liquidy then. Dont know if it works the same tho because I never tried it with bananas ( but I assume its more neutral in taste compared to bananas)
Ok. People can have differing symptoms of detox when they go vegan, so that might have been it - or not. Of course hard to tell just from a few words over the internet ;) Anyway, all the best!
I am having money problems AND I just became a pescatarian. You have blessed me with this vid! I seriously want to make all of this stuff. Like, today. xD
Hello, I am transitioning to vegan and you are a GOD sent! I just watched "What the Health" and have cut out meat, and am only eating fish, and plant based foods for the past 3 weeks. However, I have been soo hungry, have had low energy, and am losing weight. I want to be completely vegan by November but was feeling like, I don't know if this vegan lifestyle is realistic for me right now. You are showing me that veganism is possible and can be really enjoyable and filling! GOD Bless you! And your personality and uniqueness are Beautiful! Keep being you! I look forward to watching more of your videos and learning more from you! :-) People really need help making the transition to veganism, and you provide that guidance and insight! Thank you so much! :-)
I've been watching a lot of meal prep and vegan prep videos of late, but I gotta tell you...yours are best, the easiest, and what looks like the tastiest ones I see. Thanks, and you rock!
This changes my weekly diet expectation, along with improving my food budget by an embarressing amount of U.S. dollars! We are loving your content so much, thank you for taking the time! You Are Appreciated
loving this kind of video. To be perfectly honest Rose I haven't been able to relate to a lot of your food lately. Use to watch most of your videos while you were in England but not nearly as consistent since you have been back home in Canada. This though, I can relate. Thanks
Really enjoyed the video. I saw that you had a lot of food left over. A lot. It encouraged me to think about trying out the 20 dollar challenge. Loved your use of the bananas and sweet potatoes.
This is incredible! Love videos like this, you're very inspiring :) I'm still transitioning to vegan so videos like this are really helpful for inspiration!
In the US it's possible to buy some foods and at the dollar store ...... peanut butter, frozen veggies you just never know what they're going to have but the do not have fresh produce ☺
To make meal prepping easier on a budget, I don’t include condiments and seasoning in my budget only because I usually have those on hand. That way the next time you meal prep, your money goes towards the food and your recipes can be more versatile. Thank you for your videos. I love your good combinations.
as someone who is semi new to vegan eating and a plant based lifestyle i love your videos they have given me so many amazing ideas and recipes that i have recreated myself keep em coming much love from a canadian fan!!!
There are some really creative options here. I’m converting to veganism, and I don’t want to be discouraged by cost, boredom or difficulty. I also love peanut butter. Thank you!
Great job and thanks for making this video! To give others perspective, I usually spend $60-80 per week vegetarian with more fresh veggies and fruits, bread, treats. But I'm inspired to make some of your dishes. What food processor do you use?
ANOTHER amazing video??? Gurl u gotta slow down, my heart can only take so much😭😂❤️ seriously good. Cant wait to try this stuff. I love how u kept it simple but still made it creative and affordable. One of my favourite youtubers always. Love u and have a good day💓💓
I just discovered this channel and I'm so happy you have all Canadian stuff (no name brand) bc now it's so much easier to find reasonably priced stuff oml bless your soul this is my new favorite channel

Cheap Lazy Vegan Hey, love the video! What king of frying pan is that? I really like it
Totally took advantage and am currently listening to "You Are a Badass". Loving it!!!
Cheap Lazy Vegan I just found your videos and you're a life saver! I'm on a very tight budget and Vegan or even close to is usually out of my range but your advice is such a help.
I wish you had a printed version of your cookbook.
I would totally buy it

Sir Awesomeness yeah she should've said "work week" which is usually 5 days, Monday through Friday
Sir Awesomeness I think she was talking about her last meal prep video that was 5 meals. I don't think that title said a full week but this one did.
Madie exactly.
except, 14 main meals not including breakfast. 14/2 =7. so it is a full week
Adding peanut butter to your tomato sauce isn't weird. That combination is actually used in some west African dishes, one being Peanut stew.

RJ LaPlante YAAASSSS
Two weeks on $50 in Korea, and I'd be in trouble.
There is a web site ..too where u can type in what u have in ur fridge or pantry and recipes come up ;)
LaurensDesigns omg what is this magical site?
I can't remember...try google?
You can do another $20 challenge. But also use what you had leftover from the week before. For example: You had a lot of leftover black beans and lentils. So this week you won't have to purchase them. Now you have a little more for more fruit and veggies.

Yup

Veganism isn’t expensive. You’re doing it wrong. I’m broke as fuck, literally pennies to my name and I make do. Animals matter more.
@@bluebrrypie 😂😂 I love your username
Vegan eating, like any other way of eating, has a huge range of what you can eat. What do vegans eat? Everything. Just not animals.
I agree with you that most people have spices on hand, so I wouldn't have been upset if you had included some in your recipes. Onions are not necessary!? I couldn't be vegan without onions and garlic, or powders 😂😂
I need to meal prep tomorrow and I actually have most of these ingredients already! Boo yah! You're a life saver 🙏
k onions are DEF necessary for life but it was the one thing I felt like I could eliminate in this challenge! haha :)
Cheap Lazy Vegan That's Fair 😜😂
Cheap Lazy Vegan it sucks for me because my mom is allergic to onion and garlic which means I can't use that in any cooking T-T
I have IBS so it means no onion or garlic for me. I use some onion (or garlic) oil. You place an onion in a jar, and add oil. Place it in the fridge and use it for cooking. Give some onion taste without the abdominal pain it causes.

Beans are awesome
This is like Taco Bell - limited number of ingredients tossed all about for different combinations :-D

The peanut butter in pasta is genius. I recommend almond butter (its what I had in the cupboard) because it transforms the pasta.
Great tip Rose

I've never risen from my chair before to start cooking a recipe I saw on RUclips, but those peanut butter oat cookies sounded so good and easy to make that I couldn't resist. They are in the oven now and I'll continue watching the video ;)
Serving up 'ugly food' realness. much appreciated!
Wow this is awesome! I'm trying to do the 7 day vegan challenge and was stressing myself out with proportions. Thanks for making it look easy,!:)
This video should be called, "How to put Peanut Butter in Literally Anything" Lol. JK. Still super helpful and it can be adjusted to your own personal taste. I just hate peanut butter. 😂 And almond butter is like 7-12 US dollars per jar.
LOLOL yeah i went a little crazy with the peanut butter ahahah
I don't like peanut butter either lol and the price for almond butter is ridiculous lol
Vannesa Garcia Almond, cashew and peanut butter are all super easy to make! You also save alot of $$ and get more product!! 😊
The top ramen oriental noodles are vegan and if you add frozen veggies and less of the salt packet you feel less gross after eating it!
Hey Girl!! You out did yourself again!! This $20 food prep & the other $20 food prep = $40 of GOOD Food that will last quite a while!! Yaaay!!
I know they let you use your own grocery bags lol
i never see stores have open places where you can do that :( mine only sell the bulk foods in bags
Beesweetbeeyou yes at bulk barn they weigh the jars/containers that you bring in before your start shopping. Also many health food stores with bulk sections do this. If they don’t you can encourage them to by asking about it :)
Please tell me I'm not the only non-vegan here ...
+Last_Pineapple I'm sure you're not and even if you are, that's okay haha
Hi, don't worry, you're not alone x)
I'm just vegetarian ^^
Last_Pineapple I just call myself a part-time vegetarian/vegan. so you're not alone! she's an inspiration!
Last_Pineapple go vegan
Omnivore, here...with vegan/vegetarian tendencies in the Summer time when fresh fruit and veggies are readily available.
I just made the oatmeal cookies and they were fantastic. I added some chia, flax meal and wheat germ. 😊
'veganism is so expensive'
Jess Personal sorry but if i ate that many carbs i would be humongous.
It is if you want to eat tasty stuff and less work.
As a fellow Canadian viewer, really appreciate this since some of the things that they have in America is not easily available in my area since i live in a small town... Thanks for this meal prep video!
Grace Lee I agree, also from Canada. I love superstore
I love how she basically added peanut butter to everything 😂
She’s definitely my kind of person 😂
I think you lack peanut butter in your diet.
Amin Akhmadi 😂😂😂😂
🤣
..and soysauce
I like peanut as much as the next guy but dang girl lol. Thank you I'm new I'm trying to convert to being a vegan and I'm on a budget. This helped a whole lot. Keep up the great work😊
I don't know how you survived a whole week without garlic and sriracha
Rachel Lee omg yeah! Lol
I'm thinking she may have added some throughout the week ;)
Rachel Lee I'm eating while watching this and you reminded me I have Sriracha. So I thank you.
Rachel Lee or hot sauce the Hispanic in me needs some cochulla.I have to still have my eggs in my diet.
Rachel Lee -- can you make your own "sriracha" with peppers and garlic? I once made harissa with soaked dried mild red chilies, and it was out-of-this-world good.
Not vegan but I am cheap!
You aughta go vegan then, you'll save on hospital bills
Theladyoftheday me too
Theladyoftheday saaaaammmeee 😂😂😂😂😂😂
You’re halfway there! :)
Theladyoftheday 😂😂😂
I really liked this. I like my burgers, wings, etc., too much to ever give them up completely. However, I do need to eat a healthier diet and save some money. I plan to limit the amount of meat I eat on a weekly basis and make more meat-free meals.
I went vegan for 3 years but had a vegan cheat day because of those damn wings 😭😭 they're so good
Great video as always. Kale stems are edible; I use them in soups and stir fries sorta like celery. They take longer to cook than the leaves, so I strip the leaves like you do, then use the stems separately. In your meal plan they could be added to the frozen vegetables when you sautéed them.
Rose: "you can use as much peanutbutter..."Me: (finishes Sentence) "as your little heart desires :)"Rose: ... "as you want."Me: wait. What?
Bless your soul! I’m trying to buy some food on a budget.
yayyy : )
Cheap Lazy Vegan Thank you so much. You don’t understand how I’ve been trying to get back into a healthy lifestyle. You’ve gained a new sub. 🙏🏽💖
I recently lost my job so I guess I'll be needing this video. I have no savings and only $130 in my checkings acc with no clear job in the near future. I actually want to die. But I'll try this first I guess.
Yama Tama - everything will work out , I promise :) I will pray for you as well .
Yama Tama so sorry to hear that! Wishing you all the luck on finding something soon :)
i dont know whers u live, but see if they have a plasma donation center near u. they pay u everytime u donate and u can go twice a week. its how I've been buying groceries and gas for a few weeks now.
I just got laid off last week too friend, I'm very lucky to be getting unemployment. But since I've $8 bucks in the bank account I do eat like this. Save as much of that $130 that you can for as long as you can! I can make that little bit last me longer than a month in food.
U could donate blood or poop
5 days, i totally get it! like a schoolweek or workweek!
I love this. Am I the only one who finds "bean balls" funny?
Jonelija Hjellvik ha I thought so too!
Jonelija Hjellvik 😂😂😂 I did everytime she says it
They sound yummy to me!
I'm going to go look for more of your videos now ➡️
Dude, the fact that you can make this much food for $20 is mind-blowing!!!!! You are awesome!
this is amazing!! i’m trying to save money and i’ve been trying to transition back to veganism for like a year now, and your video is by far the best cheap meal prep :) you got so creative and these meals actually look filling and tasty :) i love how you approach it with a positive attitude as a fun challenge when many youtubers look at it as a struggle
You are the type of vegan I like. You help and explain how to meal prep and budget, rather than just sit and complain. I'll try to be vegan on this, and who knows I might keep it up longer. 💜💜💜
How long do you bake the cookies for? and at what temperature? I rewatched the video twice but still couldn't catch when/if you mentioned it :')
350 degrees F for around 12-15 minutes, flip half way. sorry, i should've been clear, I have the recipe instructions written on my blogpost (link in description box). thanks for watching, love
cooking these right now. Glad I found this comment
Lips are on point....but girl...HOW does your hair not get tangled up in the glossy gloss??? 👄💄👄💄
Smudgemom2003 Her lips clash with her hair, which is awesome, BTW.
You can cook lentils in a rice cooker. About 3 parts water to 1 part lentils. Little less on the water. This will give you a consistency close to lentil soup. Adjust as needed.
I love your random bursts of British accent 😂 Also, how do you cook your dry black beans? Do you soak them first?
YES omg i forgot to mention, I soaked them overnight first! :)
Cheap Lazy Vegan You can pressure cook them from dry, in 45 minutes.
No name= SUPERSTORE
fellow Canadian 👋🏼
I'm in love with you! how did you manage to make that many things with the same ingredients 😍😍
haha you gotta get creative when you don't have lots of money to spend! :) thank you so much
THANK YOU! This helps a lot, because I just started going vegan... sooo many tips and tricks :)
Maple syrup is suuuuper expensive where I live BUT I found an affordable alternative!!
Coconut supar has a maple syrup flavour and is something like 50% fibre! I use it as a sweetener instead of maple syrup when I run out or can't afford the liquid sweetie 😉😍👍
omg. i appreciate the casual atmosphere soooo much and i laughed thru the entire video. i love this!
Thanks for this video...I did almost everything today and it's really good and tasty... my daughter adores the lentils and beans patties... I adored everything...thank you so much 👏👏
did I see icing sugar as the 2nd ingredient in the no name PB... damn thats why that shit tastes so good T__T
LOLOL CARBS THO
Most sugar isn't vegan :(
How do you mean?
Monique Jeffs most sugar is made with bone char. It's not listed as an ingredient but generally if the sugar isn't labeled as vegan you can be pretty sure it's not. I don't really know why it's necessary but i do know some sugar companies dont use it!
Is this in America? Because i've never heard of this happeing in Australia. But thank you for mentioning it, I'll have to do some research
I stumbled upon the video and have been trying some of your stuff. I am impressed with how easy and fast your recipes are! You are quite inventive and have a knack for taste! Great job girl!
Damn I need to get a new food processor. I broke one a few years ago because of a "pitted" date that wasn't pitted and I've still not replaced it.
yes you do!! i can't live without mine! haha the one i have is great (food processor/blender duo) if you want to check it out - see description box
Well because of you I need to make bean/oat burgers so I definitely need one lol. Oh thanks for the recommendation (I've had a look and it's a bit out of my price range but thank you) And cheers for the inspiration as always. Your lipstick looks beautiful btw
I love how you keep it real & it's okay to be messy. I absolutely love your videos.
It really was a lot of food! 😱More than enough for one person👏
SO MUCH FOOD
Sooooo I've been watching your videos forever. I just moved to Israel and your videos are almost more helpful here. The kitchen I have is really small and I use a plug in burner top. Your recipes are so amazing and get me out of my tiny kitchen so fast! Ugh thank you for existing!
Mabye next time you could melt the peanut butter in the microwave so it mixes better?
tip for the parchment paper; you can use a silicone reusable baking sheet to save money as well. you can use it for like 6 months so it's probably better for the environment as well!
When you're allergic to bananas and all vegan recipes always have bananas somehow 😭
I simply dislike the taste of them.. but I feel you. I like to use applesauce instead :D not quite the same but cheap, sweet and delicious
star rabbit prince finally! Yes I'm super allergic like can't even have it on my skin or I break out in a rash and if I eat my throat closes but every vegan breakfast has banana in it! 😂
gowild marlena people say that they use the banana as an egg replacement, will applesauce do the same?
Jess I found a pancake video by Naomi king, she uses banana in it, but tells you how to replace the banana if you're allergic!!
You can actually use it as an egg replacement, but i wouldnt replace more than one egg cause I feel it gets to liquidy then. Dont know if it works the same tho because I never tried it with bananas ( but I assume its more neutral in taste compared to bananas)
Can you do yet another one of these? I really enjoyed this video and the previous $20 meal :)!
I am going. Egan for a month and I made your last meal prep and put them in the freezer
Rachel's Ark how's the vegan month going?
Not oo good. I have changed to vegetarian becasue i have gotten really sick being vegan.
What happened? What kind of sick? Maybe I can help...
I kept getting a cough and stuffy nose and as soon as i came off of it i was fine
In the US it's possible to buy some foods and
at the dollar store ...... peanut butter, frozen veggies you just never know what they're going to have but the do not have fresh produce ☺
love your food preps! and I don't even food prep LOL but I love your recipes because they're simple and delicious!
To make meal prepping easier on a budget, I don’t include condiments and seasoning in my budget only because I usually have those on hand. That way the next time you meal prep, your money goes towards the food and your recipes can be more versatile.
Thank you for your videos. I love your good combinations.
sorry if I missed it but how long do you bake the cookies and the sweet potato patties for and what temp?
350 F for an hour i think
as someone who is semi new to vegan eating and a plant based lifestyle i love your videos they have given me so many amazing ideas and recipes that i have recreated myself keep em coming much love from a canadian fan!!!
NEEDED this as a college student. Thank youuuuu!♡
Just wanted to say, you are very creative, meals look beautiful and yummy. I recently found your cheap meals, and love them. thank you for sharing.
Your lipstick is gorgeous! ❤️ What kind of lipstick are you wearing?!?
There are some really creative options here. I’m converting to veganism, and I don’t want to be discouraged by cost, boredom or difficulty. I also love peanut butter. Thank you!
Anyone know where I could get the same containers she has for the prep?
Mizzycupcakes costco :) idk if they're the exact same tho
Great job and thanks for making this video! To give others perspective, I usually spend $60-80 per week vegetarian with more fresh veggies and fruits, bread, treats. But I'm inspired to make some of your dishes. What food processor do you use?
ANOTHER amazing video??? Gurl u gotta slow down, my heart can only take so much😭😂❤️ seriously good. Cant wait to try this stuff. I love how u kept it simple but still made it creative and affordable. One of my favourite youtubers always. Love u and have a good day💓💓
UnicornArtistique😆 WHY ARE YOU SO SWEET!! thank you so much 😀
I just discovered this channel and I'm so happy you have all Canadian stuff (no name brand) bc now it's so much easier to find reasonably priced stuff oml bless your soul this is my new favorite channel
