I know you’ll probably not see this but PLEASE make more of these!! Stretching that money with soaring food prices is hard and you give so many amazing ideas!! ❤️
I saw it!!! I definitely want to make a lot more budget friendly videos cause seriously, it's so bad out there!
Yes please
Yes, please.
Yes it's getting so bad people are having to eat their emergency food supplies not because food is unattainable but because it's unaffordable. I'm lucky I'm ok and if you fry I will buy .Just playing lol
SuYeon here from the future, it only gotten worse.
hey girl please do more of this!!! trying to eat healthy but can't afford it 😭 i appreciate it! 🥰
totally!! thanks for watching :)
Just wanted to share something I made while drunk the other night. Easy burritos. Half a bag of frozen Potatoes O'Brian (or called Hash Browns with onion and peppers) A whole bag of frozen peppers and onions (fajita veggies), A can of Black beans and a can of corn. I also used some oil and minced garlic from a jar. SUPER easy. I have so much I'm going to freeze some. I'm not vegan so I had an egg and some cheese with mine, but for vegan you could leave that out and add more beans and avocado and greens, anything you want really. It was cheap and easy enough to make while drunk and crying. Oh yeah, I put spices and jared salsa in there too.
upcycling leftovers into new things is a budget stretcher. I just took leftover spanish rice and pinto beans and put in the food processor with crushed corn chips, oregano, cilantro, onion and garlic powder and some pickled jalepenos with their brine. Pulsed till blended (leave chunky for texture) and make into patties. Air fry 7-15 minutes depending on size and your fryer ( or bake). I served on a bun with cashew ranch and some roasted anaheim chili and lettuce. I do this bean/grain burger combo all the time with different varieties and spice profiles (soybeans and brown rice with green curry; white bean-sorghum and pasta sauce and italian seasoning, etc). And mushrooms of all varieties have gotten alot more expensive where I live (seattle), but button mushrooms still the least expensive of the varieties
More of this pleeeeease! Figuring out meals is the most dreadful part of being alive
I'm living in Cambodia and oyster mushrooms are pretty cheap which is amazing. On the other hand, canned beans (or any canned stuff) are so expensive and I relied a lot on canned beans before so oh well. You really can't have it all
Canned beans contain BPA. dried beans are better they take some time just get an instapot it's a very wise investment and cooking from dried always taste better and the beans are always softer.
omg that's amazing! I didn't know that oyster mushrooms are so cheap in CAmbodia!
@@mattdonalds7007 agreed I will definitely invest on that soon!
Free foraging! I always find oyster mushrooms in my local woods. As well as chicken of the woods, hedgehog, and chanterelle! 🍄💜
I just made the burritos and I cannot believe how amazing they smell!! I left one out to try, and holy cow - delicious!
I had the black bean rice burrito for lunch today and am finishing up the spaghetti dish for dinner. Sooo sooo good!
Oyster mushrooms are super super easy to grow and clone. You mix some water with some wood bbq pellets like making a dough, it becomes like thick mash potatoes of sawdust, then you crumble in some of the spores, then you jam it in a plastic bag, twist the bag up tight and then poke a few holes in the bag
Awesome recipes! I love the "squinchey" noodle sounds while you were stirring the pasta!LOL and yeah - nothing better than onion and garlic sauteeing together !Yum!
Oyster mushrooms are $6 for100 gms in Australia. I miss them so much.
Ordered groceries for $35 ($5 over) and I will be making these meal preps! Can’t wait 😛
This is an AWESOME video!!! I plan to make every meal...I'd love to see more cheap meal prep videos like this, please!
Mushrooms were so cheap when I lived in UK but are pretty pricey here in Germany. I love making a cheap cheesy pasta sauce blending a can of white beans with garlic, nooch, salt, pepper and lemon juice - super easy macaroni cheese sauce. Also loved using hummus for sauce then adding chickpeas for protein - eerm or more hummus? Love the recipes.
‘A little explosion never hurt anybody’ erm Rose?? 😅
Frozen spinach is the cheapest! Plus it ages less, so it's healthier and stores well. Field to frozen is my go-to, when it comes to most veggies and fruits.
Hey Rose! #teamcilantro over here! 😂 I love your budget friendly ideas, they seem pretty easy, deliciuos and abundant, these are hard times indeed. I live in México and oister mushrooms are also expensive here, I'll have to keep with the cremini too.
Rose, here in New Brunswick, at our local Superstore, oyster mushrooms are between $5.99-$6.99 for a package .
Hated onions as a child and I still do but I know the benefits of using them and so I do, but I cut them up very small to psych myself out lol. I hate peppers too. I cut them up small as well.
Oh hey, do you have Giant Tiger stores where your at? That would be a cool place to do a grocery haul from. They have good prices on fresh and frozen produce. And if you have one of the really big stores in your area, sometimes you can find tofu or vegan items. I live in NS but when I visit family in Ontario, I go there for some of my groceries. The Ontario stores are much bigger and have a larger selection of things then the stores in NS.
What a great idea! Thank you.
I love your recipes. They are so approachable. Great video!
Hi Rose, thanks so much for your videos, I've been following your recipes for a while and decided to go vegan this week 😊 I was watching another 4 day meal prep video and here in Australia (I use online shopping) the ingredients would have cost me $250. I thought you would have something better, and the food will only cost me just under $100 for this, I had to buy some pantry items so it would be cheaper for those who already have those items... anyway I just wanted to say thanks for making it easier for me to go vegan.
You need to come to Kennett Square Pennsylvania since there is a mushroom festival every year
your thai rice looks like my takeout 🥡 I love thai basil fried rice too, the flavor is amazing
Team cilantro all the way! That Thai fried rice looks amazing. Will definitely be trying
Your videos are always so much fun to watch. I've never thought of making a larger amount of bean burritos and freezing them. What a great idea! I actually make my own tortillas (a very easy recipe) and they are even cheaper than the store-bought ones, and tastier too. =)
my life is super busy right now and filling my freezer with burritos every week or two is literally saving me. 3 weeks ago I made tofu scramble burritos with muchrooms, spinach, pesto, and vegan cheese for half of my batch and my other half was black beans, frozen bell peppers, onion, salsa, and chili powder. Last week's batch was tofu, chickpeas, mushrooms, vegan sausage, and kale. They're the best way to use up stuff that needs using! I make 10-15 at a time and the actual time spent cooking is about the same as just making a couple burritos! Just takes longer wrapping to wrap them up. A+ highly recommend.
@@tungstensmum1491 thank you for the recommendation. I am going to make some of these and freeze them for easier meals.
Thank You for these videos and help. Please no use plastic and heat together it is super super toxic, please cut out plastic from kitchen.🫶🏼Much Love.
Thanks for your tips!
I agree with this entirely. I've been cooking only with cast iron ceramic or glass and stainless steel for years because those have been around for quite a while. Not too long ago they found out baby powder causes ovarian cancer. Meanwhile cast iron has been around for a good 1400 years if it does anything bad we know it by now. Plastic is just a little bit too new and we already know that microplastics shave off from it all the time.
I get my beans, rice & mushrooms at Costco. That's an easy delicious burrito. Pasta with hummus & tofu, rice dishes are yummy too.
Cremini and white button are very cheap in Poland (as Poland is one of the biggest mushroom importers in EU). Oyster mushrooms are also quite cheap therem. I live in Germany and I think those two are fairly priced here. Oil (every "cheap" vegetable oil) is extremely expensive in Europe right now. I mean 3-4 times as expensive as few months ago.
People who hate cilantro usually have a gene that makes cilantro taste like soap. It is genetics and they can not do anything about it 🙂
The think I like about budget recipes isn't just the value. These recipes usually have less ingredients and easier to find too,
love your hummus pasta and energy! can't wait for upcoming content
That hummus hack is genius!
Mushroom cost $3 to $5 in AZ
Found a whole, fat ladybug 🐞 in my “triple washed” baby spinach 😅
Now I always wash again lol
Mushrooms is extremely expensive where I live 'Lebanon '
I liked all the recipes. Nice presentation.
Visited Calgary (from Ontario) but timing just didn’t work out to visit your cafe! Maybe one day 🤭
I love onion flavor but HATE the texture of cooked onions. Its like halfway between slimy and crunchy and super outputting. I have to dice mine super fine when I add them to a dish.
Thankyou so much for your recipes. They all look so delicious. I can’t wait to try making them.
Especially cooked garlic. Reminds me of my Nana! She always cooked with a lot of garlic. Gotta get cheap again due to inflation.
I’m. Making this I love your videos and we just went to target to get some stuff for those. Also I tried your three ingredient burger recipe and it was so good me and my family loved it
Mushrooms are very expensive in my island
I would let me work out a menu sheet cause my blood pressure is always high maybe because of my thyroid
I like the flavor of onions, but hate the texture, so I leave them out. I sub onion powder or some type of onion seasoning mix.
All of those dishes look yummy!
Hey there! 🌱 Loving this Budget Friendly Vegan Meal Prep video! With the economy being all "F this," it's a relief to find some delicious, affordable options. Just $30? Count me in! Can't wait to try these tasty and wallet-friendly recipes. Thanks for sharing! 👍😄
Totally Team Cilantro!!!!!! 🌿
Vegetable oil is likely cheapest because it is the worst for our liver. Canola is a bit better. & Extra virgin olive oil or avocado oil much better. Anybody with liver issues or obesity should definitely stay away from vegetable oil. Worth the extra dollars to improve your overall health. 🤙🏽
I love Thai fried rice topped with basil. Delicious!
fun fact some people genetically have taste buds that cause them to taste a soapy flavour when they eat cilantro!
What a shame. Cilantro is the only herb that has been shown to pull heavy metals out of the blood.
Yes, that's me. It sucks!
haha yes i heard about this!! it really sucks!
@@CheapLazyVegan lowkey I think this applies to me but I still eat cilantro 🤷♀️
I used to find it tasted like soap but over time I’ve noticed it doesn’t anymore :)
Thank you-this is perfect 👍🏿.
Great recipes. Also, definitely team cilantro!!!!
New sub girl. Love your personality
All looked gorgeous, you have a gift xox
I have GERD and can't eat onions, garlic or mushrooms (or red peppers...)...🥲 Any ideas for veggie substitutes for the spinach pasta? I love the idea of making sauce out of hummus!
What is missing?PROTEIN!!! I miss Mommy Tan. Great video Rose! I need more like this. Food is getting so expensive!👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
Thank you for this♡
Team cilantro for sure! Thanks Rose, keep them coming!
That is a lot of food ! Will be trying these for sure !
Definitely team cilantro!
Sauteing onions and oregano. That's the best smell
I live in Arizona and your prices look lower than mine. Meaning that list would have cost mor than $40 US or more than $50 CAD 😔
Thank you !
Ha 😅 I can’t even buy oyster mushrooms because my store in rural WI does not carry them 😳 I really enjoyed your video and funny I made black bean and rice burritos yesterday to use up what I had which included hummus 🤣🤣
Looks great!
Team Cilantro! Thankfully, I was born with the cilantro-loving gene!
Great ideas, thanks. Your pan is so beautiful, which brand is it?
Only sprouted beans r ACTUALLY good/better for u
Looking back 3 years ago you gained weight being i fast alot and only way sometimes one time i need to get my weight up which video should i look at of yours
Love your videos. Been watching you for many years- off and on. In the past years you have changed, not a negative, A Positive! Look more fit and more healthy. Saw a health shift in you! Also just your face shows healthy! But also wonder- Have you had cosmetic work or surgery? Your face looks different from a couple years ago.. but great!
Dang! Food looks great!!!! Hungry Now!!
I don't like the smell of sautéed garlic and onions. lol I hate white onion. They are pungent. I like the taste of garlic, but not when it is cooking.
interesting! LOL
@@CheapLazyVegan I blame pregnancy as I couldn't eat or smell white onion without having morning sickness. I haven't been able to stomach them since.
Hello. What kind of wok is that? Do you have an Amazon link or brand I can search? Great video as always 🤙
Out of curiosity, did vegetable-oil get a lot more expensive in the US & Canada? In Europe it's 3-4 times the price since the war😅 it seems more affordable to buy margarine or even some vegan butters these days
Wow! Loved them all!!! :)
Is your hotplate made by Elite Gourmet? do you like it? I am currently in the market.... ;P
P.S.....if you love mushrooms try getting a field guide and go foraging! the fall is a great time to find some good stuff! Also its FREE mushrooms!!
More yummy 😋 recipes from beautiful & gorgeous Rose. Spices don't last in my house because I love 😍 them so much. Love 🥰 the video and love 💞❤️ Rose.
Budget tip use frozen spinach😀
Team cilantro😊
I made the spaghetti 🍝
You are looking beautiful and your food is looking delicious
Team cilantro
Team Cilantro
Cilantro tastes like perfumed soap to me 😝
Team cilantro! 💚
Cilantro = soap 😂
Oh the lunch and dinner can be popped into a tortilla, add an avocado to change it up a bit. 🤎
Team Cilantro for sure
"If anyone tells you beans aren't healthy don't listen to them" I love your defense of beans.
My aunt is badly diabetic and they finally took beans out of her diet but hey, meat was definitely the first (well no, she still eats unseasoned chicken)
@@sarahrodriguez6586 Your aunt is diabetic and she was advised to STOP eating beans?!!!
I’m sorry, but that goes against all modern medical and nutritional advice surrounded diabetes! 😱
Can I ask whether she’s type one or type two?
@@Colmbaz type two but I can't really say what they advice her to eat, she feels like it's torture, I only remember nopales and egg whites. Glucerna. She also eats chicken and veggie soup without seasoning and it's all I know
@@Colmbaz they said something about the high levels of potassium in beans
it's so true though!!!
Thank you!
My mind is blown with the hummus pasta sauce! Why didn’t I ever think of that?!! And those burritos look 🤌🏼
it's the easiest hack!!! :)
Hummus pasta is the best hack! I like mine with tomatoes and olives :)
I’ve never done it with just hummus but I’ll add some hummus to another pasta sauce or teriyaki sauce or whatever to make it protein
Is it supposed to be eaten cold?
My Boyfriend is Vegan now. I love your channel. I want to do everything to support him and your food looks amazing.
Am yet to cook him some of your recipes.
You matter also.
Omg that’s awesome! Hope you try some out ❤️ start with a simple one like my 4 ingredient Alfredo sauce (it’s so easy but so good LOL)
@@CheapLazyVegan I'll definitely give it a try
@@miamor5754 Thank you
I've never thought of doing burritos as meal prep. Made a batch of these and froze them, and I'm microwaving from frozen to eat - they're delicious!
Wonderful. So practical. I try to be a raw vegan, but this is supremely to do in mid-west USA in the winter. All those raw vegan youtubes made by people who live on islands and the mountains of Hawaii. So I combine raw vegan with the practicality of Rose and have come up with an excellent diet. Have been doing this for years. Love you, lady friend.
Oyster and cremini are fairly cheap here in Croatia. Cremini are the cheapest (and very flavourful and useful), but oyster mushroom are almost as cheap.
“Vacation calories don’t count at all.” I agree, Rose 😂
Save money, don't buy oil. I cook with veg. broth and water.
Cremini and button mushrooms are CRAZY expensive in Korea (where I currently live). Here, the cheap mushrooms are enoki and king oyster. Occasionally I can find some cheap white button mushrooms at one of the traditional markets, but apart from that, the aforementioned are the cheapest.
What an incredible life you have. A single King Oyster here can be multiple dollars. To fill one skillet you'd need $6-$10
Rose doesn't mess around! These recipes look amazing and it's proof you don't need to spend a lot of money to eat plant based.
I absolutely love using hummus to make a creamy pasta sauce!! It's so flavorful, quick and easy! Sometimes I use my homemade hummus to make the pasta sauce and oh man 🙌🏻☺️ it's so wonderful
Me being allergic to onions 🤣🤣 she is there anything better then the smell of sautéing onions and garlic
