The Spiderverse films were good because Sony avoided a hands on approach, Across the Spiderverse allegedly met its budget goals by underpaying their animaters, the Cloudy films were okay, the Hotel Transylvania series was run into the ground, animation legends Genndy Tartovkosky and Lauren Gaust were denied their Popeye and Medusa films, etc. Sony is about as competant in animation as live action.

It could be a lot worse, Disney could buy Paramount, and then the Transformers franchise would be as screwed as the Star Wars franchise or the Muppets or Indiana Jones or anything else Disney has acquired!
