this is why Rodimus is my favorite. It's that dichotomy between ptsd over what happened with Optimus, being chosen as leader by the Matrix and the Autobots, (and Optimus himself in the voiceover while opening the matrix) having all the responsibility in the world, having the wisdom and physical strength imparted by the matrix... but also still being an edgy teenager inside who was forced to grow up too fast, and that last part seeps out sometimes lol I feel that on days when I have to adult too hard.

The Autobots have more of a foothold on things now. He may be a leader, but maybe all of the Autobots get to shine on their own too, hence why Magnus has so many great moments. Rodimus' presence is that of alleviating tension because he is relaxed and casual too. Optimus had that, but it's more prevalent in Rodimus. The poor bot is already punishing himself for what happened, for how Prime died. But every Autobot, including Optimus himself, would have done the same for each other. Unlike the Decepticons who throw their wounded into space for ease of travel.
Rodimus accomplished way more than Optimus ever did. But he still has his doubts? He was the chosen one, the Cybertronian war hero to restore the Autobots back on top.
