I am so excited to try this throw. I learned the falling leaves stitch on another channel but the hostess only did small projects with the falling leaf stitch. Fall is my favorite season too. I can't wait to make this your throw! Thank you so much for pattern.

Another fantastic tutorial!!! Thank you. I love how you zoom in on the stitches, it makes all the difference for us beginners!!! I can't wait to make this one, right now I'm doing the Grit stitch for a baby blanket gift. I'm going to try and add a picot border. I'll email you a picture when completed.
Thank you!! I try and go close and go slow so beginners can learn and see what I’m doing. I can’t wait to see you’re completed baby blanket!
Beautiful colors. I really like the cranberry color. Thank you for telling the beginners where to place the stitch markers. It really helps me. The pattern is easy to follow and looks beautiful. Love ALL your videos.

Thank you both Amanda and Kayley!
Aw thank you! This is definitely one of my favorite stitches, so I wanted to use it with this new pattern. I am so happy to hear you’re enjoying all my patterns and understand the hard work that goes into it. My goal for this channel is to provide content for beginners, but also provide tutorials even more experienced crocheters will enjoy. I will have to tell my friend Kaylee as your kind words. She would appreciate it 😊
@@AmandaCrochets Awwww 🥰🥰🥰 yes I’m sure even experienced crocheters enjoy your content. What’s not to enjoy, you have a comforting voice , you explain everything in great detail and you’re an amazing teacher! Even people with experience can learn something new everyday. You are the best!

Lovely ! I think I will make my stripes wider I like this stitch though it gives the blanket a nice texture THANK YOU! ❤️😊
You’re very welcome!
Thank you so much for this tutorial, Amanda. The throw is absolutely gorgeous! Added to my to-do list which seems to grow longer as I continue to watch your exfellent tutorials.
You’re welcome! This was a fun pattern to make, so I hope you enjoy it as well 😊🧶
Hey everyone, Amanda, I truly enjoyed making this throw, I didn't use these colors, but I used light grey, and a bunch of odd scraps of aqua, Robin egg blue, light yellow and natural, peach, and bone to make thin stripes! Weird combo of colors worked out pretty! Thank You for the tutorial! 💜
I’m so glad you enjoyed making this blanket! Sounds like a pretty combo of colors! So glad you loved the outcome. Thanks for sharing! 😊🧶
❤pp
I was inspired by your blanket, I am making a fall blanket using the same colors but a different stitch. I really like " I love this yarn" it is relatively soft and if you i buy the skeins when they are on sale, pretty affordable.
Beautiful! Thank you for a great video. I, couldn't do it without you. Excellent instructions.
Thanks!
Absolutely gorgeous.. Gonna try this with these colors for my sister gorgeous Christmas.. I will be back.. love your way you explain .. ThankQ very much.. ( new to different patterns) sub'd
Thank you! I hope you enjoying making this pattern :)
Perfect and really so beautiful,Amanda..Love it...!! Thank you for sharing!!! :)
Thanks! 😊🧶
Thank you Amanda. This is a lovely blanket and easy for us who are new to crocheting.
Thanks, glad you enjoyed!
Thats very pretty! Can this be done as a C2C throw?
I’m sure you could. 😊
Thank you Amanda. I was looking for a stitch that didn’t have too many holes & this stitch seems to be perfect! Have a great day! 💝💝💝😜
Thanks, you as well 😊
I agree especially if making a blanket for a baby. They can get their little fingers snagged and twisted which could cause harm. This texture is lovely. Thank you so much .
Beautiful colors and stitch.
You are a blessing of a teacher. Ty for sharing.
I also named my sweet daughter "Amanda", so of course I love your name.
God bless, be safe
💜☮💜
Thank you, I'm glad you enjoyed! :)
I Love this stitch, I will definitely try this pattern. You did an amazing job explaining what You do for each row.
Ty ❤❤
Thank you!! 😊
Absolutely beautiful Amanda! Love the color choices!
Thank you!
Hi. New subscriber here. So glad I found your channel. This is beautiful ❤️👍 Hope to try it soon. Thank you for sharing.
Thank you! I hope you enjoy making this pattern 😊🧶
Great pattern! When you change colors, what do you do with the tails that are left?
Thank you! With the tails, you will use a tapestry needle and weave them in between the stitches to hide them. Once you feel they’re secure you will cut the remaining tail.
I love this stitch. Can hopefully get one done after I get my cast off 2 days before Thanksgiving. It's absolutely beautiful.
Have fun!
This is a beautiful blanket! I am a new subscriber, just wanted to say hi! Thank you for sharing this.
Thank you! Thanks for stopping by my channel. I hope you enjoy my tutorials :)
You do an excellent tutorial. You took your time was very clear on what stitches to make and the length of the tutorial was long enough to fully understand what anyone needs to make this beautiful blanket. Thank you for being such a good teacher..
Thank you so much! I’m glad you enjoyed this tutorial! 😊🧶
You are so awesome to follow. I do have one question, do you suggest a boarder? And if so, could you do a tutorial on one for this blanket? Or maybe it doesn't need one? Thanks❤
You could add a border if you’d like, but I thought it was pretty enough without one. For borders, I usually just do a simple single crochet border.
Hi Diana, I always like adding a shell stitch border with this stitch.
Great suggestion 😊
I have watched so many tutorials on crocheting and you are my absolute favorite! As someone also said how you do a close view of what you are doing is so helpful. Thank you for taking the time to make these videos.
You’re very welcome! I’m glad you find my tutorials helpful and easy to follow along. Thanks for your kind words 🥰🧶
Wow....👌👌
Thanks!
Thank you, great tutorial as always and a beautiful stitch and blanket. 🤎💛❤️
Thank you!
I like your video. You make it easy to learn the stitches. Thank you 😊
Aw thanks! 🥰
Very beautiful pattern. Thank you for sharing. Amazing!
Thanks!
If I wanted to make this blanket for a king size bed how many stitches would I need to make it for a king size bed
You would make a chain in a multiple of 3 until your desired width. I can’t say exactly how many chains this would be as your gauge and yarn might be different than mine, but I would try 304 chains and see if that’s the width you need. Thanks!
What a beautiful blanket Amanda! Thank you for your tutorial, and for seeing you again!
Glad you loved the blanket! 😊🧶
Great tutorial!! Thank you so much for sharing!!
😊💚😊💚
Thank you!
Lovely pattern, thanks for sharing.
Thanks for watching!
We are just coming in to Autumn here in Australia. Definitely going to make this one. Thank you from Australia.🇦🇺💖🇺🇸
Wonderful! I hope you enjoy this one 😊🧶
That is absolutely beautiful with the color combination. Thatnk you I’m new to your blog .
Thanks!
That burnt orange and cranberry are my favorites but the colors definitely look great together! Definitely looks like falling leaves 🍁 great job! I’m so happy you’re getting out of your comfort zone , it makes me get out of my comfort zone because like you I tend to gravitate to simpler colors, for lack of a better word 😂
Aren’t they so pretty together?! I never would have done something like this, but so glad I did! It’s nice to try new things every now and then. Makes me want to try other projects too! 😊
@@AmandaCrochets oh yes 👍🏻 very beautiful! Definitely makes you want to try new things here and there! The colors are great together! The stitch is absolutely beautiful! Love 💕 it!
Thank you 😊😊
This is beautiful! Great job! I’d run to Hobby Lobby…but it’s Sunday!

I will be making this blanket. Thank you Amanda I love the look of the pattern.
Hope you enjoy!
So pretty, thanks Amanda. Love how you always give multiples so we can change the size as needed! Didn't get my notification when this came out, need to find out why!
Thank you! I’m glad the multiples helped! 😊🧶
This is really pretty and seems to be quite easy. I am going to give it a try! Thanks for a new pattern!
You’re very welcome! Hope you give it a try 😊🧶
Love this!! Very good tutorial!!
Thanks!
I used this stitch in a blanket I made but didn't know the name of the stitch. Thank you for the video
You’re welcome! I love this stitch.
Beautiful! Thank you.
Glad you like it!
So Pretty! 🧡🧡🧡
Thanks!
New to your channel 🙋♀️
This has to be one of the easiest patterns I've seen.
And I still can't get it right 🤦♀️
So fricken frustrating, I ended with 2 chains, instead of 3.😫
I'm new to crochet, and it took me awhile to do the first row, and come the end with 2 chains.
I pulled it all out.
Keep practicing and you’ll get it 😊🧶 I believe in you!
That is so pretty! I can’t wait to make it. ❤️
Thanks!
I love the colors, my favorites. Thanks for sharing
Thanks!
Appreciate your tutorial... Do you ever do a crochet a long like like a mystery blanket where you do the pattern in every 2 weeks in a group I'm doing well with a knitting one but it would be fun to do crochet group
I did one a few years ago, but it didn’t seem to go over well, so I’ve been hesitant to do another one. Maybe I’ll have to consider giving it a try again. Thanks!
@@AmandaCrochets ❤🤩Thanks so much🤩😊 look forward to it🤩🤩 I like practicing the stitches.. I have really enjoyed the corner to corner... And looking at your fall leaf blanket..
I just like the idea of idea of a different stitch every 8 or 10 rows... I know I can do it myself but it's just more fun not knowing what it's going to be..mystery and seeing everybody else's.. Especially through covid changes changes it's a little bit of a fellowship..🙏💖🤩🦋 thanks again for a response
You’re very welcome! Happy crocheting 🧶😊
Beautiful color I love the stitch thank you
Thank you! 😊
Perfect color choices for the fall season!
Thanks!
This is my first time making a blanket, and I am excited to work on it. I am going to have so much fun with it, and it is an easy one to follow, thanks.
You’re very welcome! I hope you enjoy making this blanket!
Hi Amanda! I love this stitch pattern and I am currently making a baby blanket using this. Could you give me a suggestion as to what kind of border you would use for this blanket? Thank you so much! 🤗
I usually make a single crochet border, but for something a little more fun, I would try a shell stitch or a picot stitch. That would be fun 😊
Thank you so much for your tutorial it is very easy and you explain very well thank you
Glad you enjoyed 😊😊
Love this. Im making it now and its so easy! I need to know how to effectively bury the ends properly. I finished a beautiful granny square blanket and the ends of yarn keep poking out. Maybe a video to finish all the ends.
I’m glad you’re enjoying this pattern! To hide your ends, I usually go in between the stitches multiple times in different directions. You’ll want to keep the yarn ends with the same color to hide them even more. I hope that helps!
Thank you for a wonderful, easy to understand tutorial!! ❤️
Thanks!
Just an FYI...the cranberry color of I Love This Yarn from Hobby Lobby bleeds really bad when washed. I learned the hard way!!
Thanks for letting us know!
Really beautiful and easy. Thank you!
Thanks!
I am a new crocheter and I would really like if you would actually put the stitch marker where you were telling us to put the stitch marker. I really loved your tutorial and I thought you made it very easy to understand. Thank you😊
Thanks! I’ll keep this in mind for future tutorials 😊
Thanks for sharing. Very beautiful.
Thank you!
So basically begin each row with a HDC and a DC. And Sc, HDC, DC, in each st. ?
You got it!
Amanda , I don’t get how you did the colors to start and end the same way
I’m not sure what you mean. I mention the color sequence in my video and the full color sequence is listed on my blog. Hope that helps!
This is a beautiful afghan. I am making it now. I was just wondering what the stitch pattern is called.
Thank you! This is called the sedge stitch.
This stitch is so beautiful. I will try something soon. And your colors. Can u so a video on the colors u have? Haha
Thank you! Lol that would be a long video of yarn 😂
Wonderful crochet teacher👌🏻💕
Aw thanks!!
Love it thanks 😊
You’re welcome!
Been doing this for many years . You do a great job on it.
Aw thank you! 🥰🧶
Too bad they don’t make yarn cakes in all these colors. Love ❤️ the colors
Oh that would be amazing! I can just picture how beautiful that would look :)
Luv the colors, just beautiful!
Thank you so much!
Got the colors today, can’t wait to start it

Awesome, thank you! My favorite season is fall too 🍁
Very nice pattern but I could not figure out what you were saying was the name of the pattern stitch...Sach or Sedge ?? Could you clarify the name for me please?
This is the sedge stitch. Thanks!
I love this tutorial and the speed of your teaching. I had a little trouble seeing some of the stitches with the dark yarn.. I am gonna try making a swatch to see if I have it right. Thank you this pattern.
You’re welcome! I hope you enjoy this pattern 😊
Beautiful. Thank you.
Thank you!
Great job!! Whats the name of the stitch?
Thank you! I used the sedge stitch for this blanket.
The colors are beautiful perfect fall colors fall is my favorite then spring but where I live the last 8 yrs fall and spring getting shorter and shorter
Fall is my favorite time of year as well 😊
Nice design 🌺 👌
Thanks!
Very beautiful!
Thanks!
Hello Amanda, thank you for another clear, concise tutorial. I am enjoying working the stitches but have one question. I'm working with Caron Cakes and a size 5.5mm I hook. I'm finding the spaces between the leaves are large. Is this a tension issue for me? Im fairly new to crochet and Id love your advice. Thank you for another beautiful pattern 🙏
Hi Danielle, I'm so glad you found this tutorial helpful! Yes, this could be a tension issue. Once your hands start getting used to holding the yarn and crochet hook, your tension should even out a little more. I remember when I first started to crochet that my stitches were so tight I couldn't get my hook through. It just takes some practice and patience. You got this!
@@AmandaCrochets - Thank you, Amanda! That is helpful. I may restart. I'd like it to be neater. The pattern is beautiful!
Ma'am I am doing this blanket, but coming curved
It’s possible your tension is too tight. Maybe try going up a hook size for the chain. Hope that helps!
@@AmandaCrochets thank you so much Ma'am.
Anytime!
Beautiful as always
Thanks!
Does anyone ever post a pic of their finished project? If and when I finish my fall afghan I wonder if you would like to see it.
I would love to! You can tag me on Instagram using #amandacrochets. 😊🧶
Amanda, I don’t do instagram. Sorry.
@@suejagman9695 you can always email me! You can find this in the description box below the video 😊
Thanks, when I finish it I will email you.
First I would like to say the way you teach is so easy to understand. Second I love how this blanket is looking so far😊 I was thinking about adding a border to mine when it's done. Any suggestions?
Thank you! I'm glad you find my teaching easy to understand and that you're enjoying how your blanket is coming out. For a border, I usually do a simple single crochet border for a lot of my blankets. However, if you wanted to add a little something else, I suggest one row of single crochet and one row of the picot stitch. I think that would look really pretty!
@@AmandaCrochets I'll try it. Thank you 😊
@@sarahfoman9617 you’re welcome!
@@AmandaCrochets I meant to tell you I didn't use those colors either. I'm using a multicolor yarn. But I forgot the name. But I love it☺️
@@sarahfoman9617 I’m glad you’re enjoying it! That’s what matters 😊
What number yarn did u use?
I used worsted weight #4 yarn
Beautiful 😍
Thanks!
I love this pattern it's just right for my football blankets
Amazing!!
What is the name of this stitch?
This is made using the sedge stitch :)
What do you call this stitch
This is the sedge stitch 😊
