It was such an amazing time! Mike Carlin had those Superman humming! Great creative teams, wonderful stories & each titled helped elevate & highlight different supporting characters within Metropolis. Just a wonderful achievement all around!!

It’s the era & stories I revist the most! Just some wonderful Superman comics! I may have to make some room if this becomes an ongoing series of books, but it’s also a collection that really reflects my comics DNA!

Great idea to promote the collecting (finally!) of these Superman stories, Carl. Other than in the first few years of his existence, Superman never really sold well until Byrne revamped him and the stories more or less stayed really entertained for several years after that. So I've always said that it's probably the best era of Superman comics in the character's long history. 👍

Yeah, it’s definitely overdue & the Byrne era is really where a new reader should start but I’m glad they seem to be starting at a good point here narratively for anyone to jump onboard and read & Vol 1 gives us a nice selection of stories that serve as solid building blocks for the more famous (higher selling) stories that followed! Love that they added Krisis of the Krimson Kryptonite & the Death of Luthor!

Middle of the triangle era is when I got into comics. So glad for this omnibus, got mine pre ordered at my LCS. I wonder how many volume it will take to cover this entire era. Great video, subscribed!

I think it will be difficult to get the whole era reprinted, but I’m at the very least hoping we get one more after this to bridge the gap between the end of Vol 1 and the beginning of The Death of Superman! Fingers crossed!!
Great preview and discussion. I got into comics right before the Death of Superman and started buying many of these issues in the back issue bins as I got caught up with the character a few months before the death. I still have most of them and have always wanted to have this type of omnibus. Superman is criminally under represented as far as omnibus and collected Editions. I fear my nostalgia is clouding my memories a bit but I do recall enjoying many of these stories and this will be a first day purchase for me for sure. And I am curious if we get volume 2 and any type of Red/Blue and other mid 90s Superman omnis. Time will tell.
I’m definitely going to get this, but, being the completist that I am, it annoys me that an Omni has not been release of the issues between the Exile Omni and this first triangle Omni.

My favourite era of Superman comics, as well!! The quality of the run is so consistent, the artwork always top-notch!!
The quality also holds up nicely now 30+ years later! That’s impressive! Very much looking forward to getting this book in hand!
yes, the action comic digital gap also includes the end of the Eradicator story

They announced the Exile reprint!!! In November. I was about to spend 200 to get from eBay
