I just got my first X-men omnibus on Tuesday for my Birthday 😂It was Uncanny X-men volume 1 then I got the first omnibus volume of Chris Claremont and Jim Lee.
Did you like the Claremont and Jim Lee one? It’s on my wishlist lol
@@Milskaten The Claremont and Jim Lee omnibus is beautiful. I haven’t started reading it yet but so far I think it’s worth it. It’s a few first appearances too like the first appearance of gambit if I’m not mistaken.

An important book, a holy book. Definitely getting the DM cover too. Man oh man. The first three Uncanny X-Men omnis were among the first omnis I ever bought. What a time to be alive!

People complain about 90s comics, but at least they moved in from speaking in the third person and explaining their powers every issue.

Oh man ... My childhoods X-Men. The Hungarian version of 190-191 were my first ever X-Men comics and I was instantly hooked. I can't wait for this.
The next XMEN Masterworks; it just hits a real high point with the issues that will be collected, including the epic showdown in Central Park between XMEN and Hellfire Club. Enjoy this omnibus when it comes out, then get that Masterworks edition too.

I’ve watched this over 7 times already today Omar. You could have talked even more about this and I would have eaten it up and still wanted more. I’m SO excited about this. The waiting for a little while longer until it’s in my own hands is just excruciating. 100% getting the DM cover. My brain kept going “I remember this page”, “ooh I remember this storyline” as you flipped through it. TOTAL nostalgic trip as you did this awesome overview. I’m actually emotional about this right now seeing that this is an actual physical real life reality. Please Marvel keep going on X-Men Omnis, pretty please. This is pure joy.
Agreed I want a solid unbroken omni set of x titles from vol 1 to age of apocalypse.

Chris Claremont's _X-Men_ is the reason why I started collecting Omnibuses. Finally. At long last. Pre-ordered the DM-cover. Cannot wait for this.
Pre-orders opened at 9 am....I was supposed to be at work at 9 am....guess who was sitting in the parking lot at work refreshing the page to get my pre-order.
I know people hold things like God Loves Man Kills, Dark Phoenix, and Days of Future Past, but my personal favorite was Wolverine and Kitty Pride. Can't wait to read it again.
I find it amazing that you can just look at a piece of artwork and tell us what issue and/or artist. That's passion.

It’s not just the news you bring us, nor is it the depth and breadth of knowledge you clearly have for comics in general; it’s the PASSION you have for the books, the characters, the stories, the creators, the publishers that you feature everyday.
We are all fans of comics partly because it awakens that child inside all of us and videos like this certainly do the same thing. Well done!

I already have it on Pre-order(Not the direct market cover) . Been working my way through my Uncanny X-men omnis. Half way through vol 2. I love these classic stories. Now we just got to get marvel to put all other omnibus on hold and just give us the rest of Chris’s run on X-men in omnibus format. ....

Great overview, Omar. I didn’t need it to convince me I wanted this since vol 4 has been a must buy for me since it was first announced but the info is appreciated. Love seeing the Romita Jr. art especially. I’m just getting started reading Claremont X-Men for the first time, so I’m pretty stoked to have this.
So, when is vol 5 coming? 😉
Honestly you should upload uncut versions of all your Omni/Absolute overviews. Nothing wrong with extra content!

Steve Leialoha is alive and well. You must've been thinking about Steve Lightle who, sadly, died of COVID-19 recently.
You've sold me on UXM Omni #4, Omar. I only picked up the issues with art by Barry Windsor-Smith and Paul Smith back in the day, and hadn't been that excited about the rest. But this looks like a great book, with a bunch of nice extras. I'll go for the standard cover by R.B. Silva.
And I'm really looking forward to Omni #5. If it follows the mapping of X-Men Masterworks Volumes 12 and 13, that volume will have a ton of Arthur Adams goodness (X-Men Annual #9, New Mutants Special Edition #1, and Longshot #1-6).

Loved the shelving part of the vid. Btw I have classic placed after uncanny omni’s bc by release date of the material It does come after. Also it’s best to read classic after reading uncanny v1-3 but that’s just what I’m doing.

I have this on order (of course) but I'm still waiting for my copy of volume 3 - Marvel omnis in particular are arriving in the UK in a trickle. I only managed to get ahold of Peter David Hulk 2 this week.

Rereading this now to prepare for vol.5, so thought I would revisit your video too!
These issues came out during the prime of my comic book collecting. Some old guys talk about walking miles in the snow to go to school but when I was in Junior High, I walked miles every week to the closest privately owned hobby shop to get my newest MARVEL masterpieces. I think I'm going to hug this book when it finally comes in.

Just placed my preorder for volume 4...got the DM cover.....man I am so excited. I'm like 3/4 of the way through volume 1 and bouncing back and forth reading x-men classic.

The one set of comics I'll never part from my collection. Great run. John Romita Jr. help kept the streak of great artist working alongside Claremont going. I'm sure these will sell extremely well.

Ordered the standard edition cover partly because I really like it (RB Silva!) and partly because I've been getting the other standard edition covers and wanted to keep them consistent. Can't wait for this Omnibus.

This looks like a wonderful book. I have never read any of this but been collected it in the epics. I love seeing you this passionate about a run i know you love. I am a bit like this on roger stern hobgoblin, alien symbiote the wedding period in the 80s. What epics collect this period of X-Men. I think 12 does as it includes lifedeath 2 but not sure.
The kulan garth issue sounds a lot like the story of Spider-Man red sonja.

Still trying to track down Uncanny Vol.3 (I slept on it last time) and Excalibur, should be getting New Mutants in the post Monday. Now I just need them to reprint Onslaught and finally get around to getting X Force/Cable and Apocalypse/ The 12 and then it’s just pre-ordering X Men Omnis (if I can, not possible at the mo) going forward YUPYUP!!!!

Although my favourites of all your videos are the reading order ones, aside from the other X-Master Peter M’s wonderful Crushing Krisis blog it’s the best way to know where to go next.
I have only been collecting comics since the New 52, but I would compare your waiting forever to get UXM vol. 4 to my forever wait of Flashpoint getting an omni... Glad to see we're both getting our wishes granted, brother. (Also its the standard UXM vol. 4 cover for me.😎)

For me, this represents the end of Marvel's Bronze age (the beginning of the end being the first Secret Wars mini series). I loved the big milestones stories in issues 193 and 200 as well as the crossover event in the annuals and special editions contained therein but hated the increasingly inferior obligatory annual crossover events that these spawned in years immediately afterwards. And I also loved the nearly forgotten single issue story gems that also shine brightly throughout this collection such as the brawl between Colossus and the Juggernaut.
Omar is 100% right everything comse back in stock. Managed to get Uncanny omnis vols1-3. pre-order vol 4. Wolverine/New Mutants/Jim Lee Omnis vol1. In the span of a few months.

My copy of Uncanny Vol 3 is on the way. I need to hurry up finishing X-Men Classic Omnibus and that one so I can jump into Vol 4 (hopefully I'll still be able to afford it by then lol). I'm excited to read it. That artwork looks gorgeous. I'm hyped to read stories with Rogue as she's my favorite (at least in the animated series). This is the first Uncanny X-Men omnibus where I'm going with the standard edition cover. I just love those renditions along with the background cover. :)

I got volume 4 in the fall, and had to get vol 1-3 when they came in through a reprint. When all 3 arrived I was a little disappointed that volumes 1 & 2 had a newer spine (the font is smaller and it has a border of characters at the bottom), and vol 3 is the same as this here spine on Vol 4. I I’m tempted to hold onto those unopened and sell them when 3&4 get the updated spines. Really bothers my ocd on the shelf lol.
I think Marvel should make the Uncanny omnis evergreen. If any titles deserve it, it’s these!

This omni collects the era during which I first began "reading" the X-Men so I am looking forward to it. Didn't know for a time they had the characters "answering" the letters!

Though I have all relevant issues in the Masterworks version, I will double dip just to get the letter page part and a bonus to me that the omni is slightly bigger than the Masterworks.
