Dammit, I think I've changed my mind: I think I need the Mutant Massacre Prelude Omni. Thanks for making this video, Omar. I like to think I had a small part in its being made, since I kept bugging you about it on the Saturday Streams. You're the best, man. Now, to see if anyone will buy my UXM Vol. 5 Omni...
Great video, perfect way to make a decision IF you have neither one of these yet. Since UX 5 had been out for some time, for many fans it was not a fair choice, but we've all been over this :-) I decided to stick with UX 5 and X-Factor Epic 1.... but then of course I caved and ordered the Prelude omni. Managed to sell UX 5 and the XF Epic for close to the price of Prelude, so I'm happy. The Prelude omni looks fantastic!
I went the event omnibus route, not so worried about missing out on the x-factor stuff and dont have the temptation of another rabbit hole of having to go down.
Thank you for doing this Omar. As a completionist, I gotta go the event omni route. I already made up my mind to get Prelude the second you announced it and already have volumes 1-4 of Uncanny. Plus I'm lucky enough to have the Mutant Massacre, Fall of the Mutants and both Inferno omni's, which means I'll have the first 40 issues of X-Factor (minus the annuals and such.) And if (when?) they ever do an Inferno Aftermath omnibus, even though it would probably double-dip with Claremont and Lee vol. 1, I'll probably get that too.
Thanks for this followup video and deep dive. We need a visual flowchart to make it easier to follow! :D I have been already getting the event omnis and had i known this prelude book would come out before UXM 5 I, probably would have waited. As it is i'll stick with Vol5 as i'm not exactly the biggest fan of the XF stuff and have (most) of the Jean Grey revival stuff elsewhere so not too bothered. Main goal for me was to get CC UXM stuff in omni format so after X-Tinction Agenda omni comes out I think i'm all good for CC UXM.
I think maybe if we could get some sort of announcement regarding Uncanny X-men Omnibus Volume 6, and how the X-factor (41-59) issues, and New mutants issues (86-94, Annual 5) would be collected would help us to decide which route.
Mostly I'll go with the main uncanny chronological omnis, but I will also collect certain event books that I really liked when I was a kid. Looking forward to the xtinction agenda, fatal attractions and other x-overs during this time.
Thanks for the overview, Omar! As much as I would love to get all three, I'm just going to go with Mutant Massacre Prelude. It makes the most sense $ wise. It has all of Uncanny 5, and between this book, Mutant massacre, fall of the mutants, & Inferno prologue (that's a lot of books), I already have the X Factor issues. Now, I just have to wait for an Uncanny 4 and Inferno reprint, then I'll be all set. 😅
Hey Omar and team, thanks for the comparison, awesome video as always, I will be getting all the event omnibus, besides the volumes, still missing Inferno as I only have the prelude, hopefully we will have a reprint in the near future.
Mutant Massacre Prelude looks DOPE! I wish it had better cover options, but overall, I love it. It is such an important book as it officially completes Claremont's run in oversized hardcover format and perfectly bridges the gap between Uncanny 4 and Mutant Massacre. I can't believe we even got letters pages!
I already had UCXv5, so I went with X-Factor. Kinda sweet to read through X-Factor v1 to follow the original team, then going back to see the other side of the story through the other omnis
Please, pretty, pretty please with mutants on top do a new X-Men reading order set of videos! Please, imagine my best puppy dog look while reading this. Please!
Thank you Omar, I just made the decision that I will for the event books, I think that instead of collecting every single title individually its better to go with the event that has the main storyline.
I'm very happy to have Uncanny Vol 5 and X-Factor Vol 1... I couldn't help but buy X-Factor... I mean, I bought those issues off the shelf and it would have felt wrong NOT to buy that even with the double-dips into the Mutant Massacre Omni. But, we're spoiled for choices, which is a good thing. :)
The choice is yours. For me, I got UXM #5 with the plan to purchase X-Factor vol. 1 despite the massive amount of double dipping. Then I heard of the Prelude. I rather have one book than two as much of X-factor is found in my Mutant Massacre and Fall of the Mutants.
Thanks so much for doing this Omar! It really helps us understand what the differences are between these books. 💙👍🏼 I have Uncanny X-men vol 5 and I was going to upgrade to the prelude omnibus until you said there was a word that was censored!
Thank you! I just finished X-Men uncanny omnibus 1 and about to start omnibus 2. Reading order after omnibus 3 seems a bit confusing to me, so this helps!
For me, it’s a mix of both uncanny vols 1 - 4 and then the start of the event omnis. Only thing I’m missing is X-Factor 41-59 but if they ever do an Inferno Aftermath Omni, it’ll be perfect 🔥
If Marvel remapped the Claremont/Lee omnibus Vol.1, there are enough materials post Inferno and pre X-Tinction Agenda to make two omnibuses/omnibi to cover the gap. Or they could keep the Claremont/Lee Vol. 1 (because Jim Lee's name still sells) and make a New Mutants and X-Factor by Louise Simonson omnibus.
@@UXPose yes that would be great … I’ve always thought the Jim Lee Vol. 1 Omni was a little thin, perfect to add in those missing X-Factor issues plus extras
@@Olorin-jh3dh The New Mutants stuff are also collected in a weird way leaving 10 issues, not collected anywhere, if we take into account NM omnibus Vol 3. That part is messy. Marvel just have to remap that part properly.
That was the main reason I had already decided to go the chrono route with X Factor- that gap, then post X Factor David vol 1. Even when the chrono X Men catch up to the Lee era, they probably still wouldn't include any of the X Factor issues. The Inferno aftermath would be nice to see (hopefully before and not after a classic X Factor vol 3 which would create yet another situation like this Massacre prelude).
@@cruelangel8689 I believe X-Factor: Original X-Men Omnibus Vol 2 should cover all the way up to X-Tinction Agenda. But given that we now know Marvel is going both the Event omnis and Single Title omnis route, there will be that overlap/double dip. We just have to choose one route and stick with it (and hope the line continues).
I was going to stay loyal to UXM 5 since I love original X-Factor and was going to get it nonetheless...then I saw the spread cover under the dust jacket for the prelude and I love it. need it. want it. D:
Just secured my Mutant Massacre Prelude Omnibus this morning! Skipped Uncanny X-Men Volume 5 because of budget, but turned out to be a saving grace, as I realllly prefer having the Event Omnibus here flow into Mutant Massacre and Fall of the Mutants Omnibuses I have already. Plus, I couldnt help having that glorious Doctor DOOM on the cover! Just really wanting the Inferno Prologue and Inferno reprinted damnit!!! I'm 100% going a mix, as I've already gotten volumes of both Numbered volumes and Event volumes. At least Volumes 1-4 Uncanny and it's Events from then on out. I don't know if I'm missing anything, with Mutant Massacre Prelude into Mutant Massacre into Fall of the Mutants to Inferno Prologue and Inferno into Claremont & Lee Volumes 1 & 2 being my route for X-Men Omnibuses
On the X-Men side you're missing X-Men: X-Tinction Agenda and Days of Future Past (they fit between the two Claremont & Lee volumes), but an omni with both of those is out next month. You're missing several issues of both X-Factor and New Mutants, if you also collect those.
@@nickbaker1541 Appreciate your response and help! ^_^ I'll have to see about that Omnibus coming out! I've been unsure about New Mutants and atm not keen on X-Factor anytime just yet!
I'm thinking I made the wrong choice and maybe should have gotten the prelude omni instead but the black border looks so much better than the yellow border so I'm telling myself that that is worth it
Will you be doing a video concerning the differences (if any) between the original Uncanny X-Men Omnibus vol. 2 and the new reprint coming out Oct. 15th?
I already have vol 5, and was on the fence with Prelude, but I do think I will get Prelude in the future because of the better mapping. I was always going to get X Factor 1 regardless (arrived this week). Moving forward, I will just get the X Men events I am missing up through AoA (X Tinction Agenda, Crossing/Song, Fatal Attractions, Phalanx Covenant and Legion Quest). X Factor I will keep doing the chrono volumes as they come out. With New Mutants and Excalibur almost finished out, would be nice for them to start X Men vol 2 blue team.
If MMP had been announced before UXM vol 5, I would have been all over that prelude. So, to me, I think the most complete way to have these if you already bought UXM 5 and don’t want to sell it is UXM 5 plus X-Factor 1. I know there is double dipping with MM omni and FOTM with X-Factor 1, but since I hope X-Factor vol 2 has Judgment War contained, a X-Factor vol 1 would look strange without a matching vol 2. Ah, the decisions we collected editions collectors have to make!
@@NearMintCondition Omar, it really means a lot to me that you were concerned about where I have been! 🥹. I have a bit of a story there. I haven’t told anyone on here about what I have been through since mid March 2023. I won’t go into details unless you reach out and want to know. But, something awful happened at my job in mid March 2023. It was hell for me and my family. Luckily, I returned to work at the start of May 2023 but I was not myself. Things were ok for a while. Also, before this, I started to get a bit disillusioned with our comic book community in fall of 2022. There just seemed to be a lot of negativity. So much that I dropped off of the MMW Forum. Peter M had suggested I do that years ago and I should have listened! Anyway, in May 2024 I was terminated from my job of over 22 years. It was awful and heartbreaking for me and my family. The situation behind my termination is so disgusting ydek. If you want to know I will tell you privately. So, since around early May of this year I have had to cut back on the collected editions I buy. Luckily things aren’t selling out at a crazy pace like years ago! Also, I would get depressed watching you and Jess and the Omnibros talk about things when my heart ❤️ wasn’t in it. So I decided to not watch anything related to you guys until a few days ago. One good thing is that my copy of X-Factor vol 1 came today so I will be putting that on the shelf later today! So basically, I have been going through some shitty times for the past year and a half. @@NearMintConditionman this video was gold on letting the viewers see what route they may want. Need to watch this again to make my choice. Thinking 1-4 + events.. would need to sell my wolverine #5. One question. Are there any prior events that could come out? Seems like prelude starts event timeline. So far the only downside I see is the yellow background. Wish it was black but didnt have the bleed through but maybe the excess black is what was causing print issues? Thanks again for all you do!
Currently have Uncanny 5. Am waiting for sale on X-Factor. Will skip Prelude. I got the event omnis initially, because that was all that was available, but am going down the specific line route whenever possible.
I went with a mix of Uncanny and event Omnis. Once Uncanny volume 5 came out, I donated my event Omnis (except Mutant Massacre) to our little neighbor hood library book share. I found with the event Omnis I often skipped over the non-uncanny issues. It’s all about Chris Claremont for me!
At this point, I honestly could go either way. The clincher for me, though, would be how the X-Factor issues in a possible volume 2 will be published. What are the chances that said issues will be included in an event book? Because if the issues will only remain in the X-Factor vol. 2 book (in particular, issues 41-59), I'd rather go with X-Factor vol. 1 so that a future vol. 2 won't look so lonely on the shelf.
Some of those issues are already in the event omnibus. All the way up to Inferno. The only gap currently is the one between Inferno and X-Tinction Agenda. I laid them out in my video.
@@UXPose Yep, that gap (issues 41-59) is exactly what I'm afraid of missing out on if they don't get printed anywhere outside of a future X-Factor vol. 2. Because if that's the case, then I will have to get vol. 1 as well (despite the big overlaps since I already have the event omnis minus this new one) so that it'll look good propped up beside a future vol. 2. Anyway, saw your video. I like how you detailed the overlaps in graph form. Great stuff!
IMHO, the continuation of the numbered volumes should’ve come several years after they wrapped the events omni run. From a consumers perspective, Marvel handled the situation poorly; they chose profit releasing UXM vol.5, knowing it would sell anyways and what X-Factor’s missing issues meant to all the fans who supported the X-Omni line over the years, over rewarding said support by including them and letting consumers really choose. After waiting so long, everyone would buy UXM vol.5, and the prelude was released under this false pretense of a choice, when it was no choice at all.
X-factor on its own was never cool enough that I'd buy an entire series of x-factor omnis, but since they gave me all the issues in the event Omni format I don't mind having them. I am concerned a full run of uncanny 94-279 won't be possible via event format, though. I don't recall if the Xtinction Agenda omni will finish off that entire Claremont run. Keeping X-men collected while going past issue 280 would also be a chore, will probably have to switch back to the numbered x-men omni's there.
I do appreciate your trying to explain the differences.👍 I can’t say I fully understand, but more to the point I’m not thrilled how Marvel has released these double and triple and quadruple dipping of the same material. I’m definitely not a fan of that. They never should have made it so confusing and overlapping. If anything it just makes me uninterested to figure it out. Collecting these issues should not require deep research as well as deep pockets. I can’t say I’m sure, but I’m looking at Marvel as greedy and responsible for what to me is not about having different choices, But greed on their part. 🤷♂️
Got Uncanny 5 last year before knowing the Prelude was coming. Replacing it with Mutant Massacre Prelude because I already have the other event Omnis. Now waiting for an Omni that has X-Factor and New Mutants from Inferno to X-Tinction Agenda.
Too lazy and annoyed to switch out my UXM vol 5 omni, and I'm not going to buy an X-Factor omni for a handful of issues I have in an epic collection when everything else double dips the event omnis. Very frustrating but I'll live with it.
Gotta have my letter pages. Could this decision have been a ploy to induce comprehensive collectors to also consider buying the Mutant Massacre Prelude Omni? I suppose only time will tell unless they’re all included in the back of a subsequent X-Factor: TOXM volume.
I ended up getting Uncanny X-Men Omnibus Vol 5 only because I did a pre-order and it came before I knew about the Prelude omnibus. From X-Men Vol 1&2 and Uncanny X-Men Vol 1-4 and maybe 5 it made sense to do series runs. If there were some X-overs the omnibus would include those issues. Around the time X-Factor gets introduced it started becoming much more difficult to follow/collect (at least back in ancient times when these comics were coming out). For my use case I've decided to cancel the X-Factor Omnibus (looks like most of it is in the other event omnibus's that I already have) and eventually get the Prelude Omni. It was around this time these original issues came out that I was finding the stories a bit convoluted and more X-overs than what I could afford. It looks like the event omnibus will help with reading order from this point forward and filter out some of the filler issues. Enjoyed the video.
Whoever made the decision to not include the X-Factor letters pages, needs a slap. The material for future X-Men numbered volumes is already available, so why the need to wait so long?
I am mad but not mad enough, today, to get both the prelude and sacrifice the completist imperative of the chronological collections. The time may come yet, and I am mad enough to collect the Masterworks and X-men Epics, so sanity doesn't really factor in. At the moment, it's more financial considerations, what with September and October being almost Omnigeddon months.
I’m probably going to stick with Uncanny purely out of OCD mostly because if I went the event route then I would have X-Factor 1-40 then a gap until 60, and it would just be weird to me if there was an omni for the post inferno stuff, same kind of sentiment with New Mutants. I would rather just have a complete shelf of Uncanny considering that’s the a-list book and I’m not even sure if I’m going to collect X-Factor or New Mutants so I would rather stick with Uncanny. Considering I’m only interested in buying the Uncanny Run up to Claremont leaving it will probably be less books overall that way
I already had the X-Men: It’s Always Darkest Before the Dawn Epic Collection in my Omni run, so I just stuck with UXM 5 and got X-Factor Epic Collection 1 to bridge the gap with the event omnis. I just don’t see enough reason to upgrade and the two Epics filling in gaps doesn’t really bother me.
I wish i would have gotten the prelude, but seeing i'm already knee deep in the numbered X-men omnie's i might as well stick with those.. I am planning to get the events that i love next to the numbered titles.. because, why not, been long enough to get them collected, so i can retire the single issues, eventhough those read much, muuuuch nicer, than such a big book.
This was an informative video, but my decision was already made. I'm going to stick with what I have, which is Uncanny X-Men omnibus 5, and not get the X-Factor omnibus because it double-dips too much with Fall of the Mutants and Mutant Massacre omnibuses. I'm also not confident that Marvel will bother with Uncanny X-Men volume 6 onward, but I'm okay either way. I *might* get the first X-Factor epic collection for X-Factor 1-8 and the other stuff collected there if Marvel ever rereleases it, but if they don't, I'm not that worried about it. I'm mainly in it for the Claremont X-Men issues anyway and wanted to have his run in oversized format as fast as possible. And it still took me ten years to accomplish that. Btu I have it as of last year and I'm happy.
The problem remains that the decision was taken out of everyone's hands when Marvel solicited Uncanny X-Men Vol 5 without ALSO announcing that they would be publishing Mutant Massacre Prelude further down the line. Personally, I bit the bullet and bought MM Prelude. I don't know what I'm going to do with my copy of UXM 5 because no one in their right mind would want to buy it with the existence of MMP. It'll probably just sit on my shelf and gather dust.
If you collect both UXM and New Mutants omnis, the numbered UXM omni route currently makes a lot more sense because the majority (but not all) of NM Omnibus vol. 3 double dips with the event omnis. Admittedly this advantage could be nullified if an Inferno Aftermath omni is ever published and includes the remaining NM material. Going the numbered route presumably means you'll miss out on most of the non-mutant material in the event books (especially Inferno), which could be a good thing depending on your preferences.
@@yunoyuluvit inferno prelude was a reprint of a previously released hardcover. this was a net new omnibus that fans only hypothesized. at the time we were led to believe those xfactor issues weren’t going to end up in a standard X-men book but rather its own line.
@@theonlycaptainlasagna And in the Luke Cage, Miracleman and New Mutants vol 2 omnibuses too. Probably others but those are the ones I’m aware of. Shhhh….if we hide it and don’t talk about, nobody can be offended and it won’t exist anymore. Right. While we’re at it, let’s censor every song, book, painting/artwork, sculpture, and movie in human history too. And keep doing it every time society changes.
Well this sucks. I was about to buy UXM 5 earlier in the year, but held off when the mutant massacre prelude was announced. I’m still pissed about new mutants v2 and am hoping for a reversion in the future so I can get rid of my censored version. Now I won’t buy UXM5 because it’s less complete and I won’t buy mutant massacre Omnibus because it’s censored.
Omar, what’s the possibility that all the issues included in The New Mutants Omni vol 3 will be included in future event Omnis? If I can own one Omni in place of two (to save space on the bookshelf - although spending less will be nice, too), I will take it!
If they did an inferno aftermath Omni that would likley be the new mutants and x-factor stuff post inferno. I think that it should just be an X-factor: Judgment War Omni and just leave the new mutants stuff for vol 4 to complete that first run going into X-Force.
So I can throw another wrench into this. I don’t want want Uncanny 6 and 7 to double dip with my Claremont and Jim Lee Omni. I purchased the Marvel Masterworks Uncanny X-Men Vol 14-16 to be the placeholder of the Uncanny X-Men Vol 6 I want but Marvel will never make. And then I got X-Factor Vol 1 and eagerly await X-Factor vol 2.
Already have massacre and fall omnis that line up with uncanny 5. When the prelude was announced I did feel a bit had but I already had uncanny 1-5 and I think I'd rather stick to that and get x factor in epic collection
I'm one of the dummies who bought all 3. If I had known the Prelude Omnibus was coming, I'd probably have skipped Uncanny 5. Still would have bought X-Factor though.
Where can I get Uncanny X-Men volume 1? Just starting to get into comics and I don’t seem able to find this at a reasonable price. Will they be printing again soon?
Hola Omar mi hermano! Could You please specify whether Mutant Massacre Prelude has Letter Pages to all X-Factor issues or just 7-8? I think that in the review of that Omni You said that the letter pages are only for issue 7 and 8? To be honest I'm disappointed that X-Factor Omni has no letter pages. I have all event Omnis and Uncanny 5 so the best route for me was to preorder X-Factor. Even cosidering double dipping i thought I will at least get the letter pages there and it will line up better with all other X-factor Omnis. I plan to get possible future vol 2 to line up before PAD vol 1. PS. Another Pro for Mutant Massacre Prelude is the fact that if withiut 5 You can have all 4 volumes with the old spines :)
@@NearMintCondition thank You for checking Omar. I meant whether the prelude Omni had the letter pages not if actual Floppies had them. Great of You for checking them :)
I am a little confused how New Mutants Vol 4 will collect cable's issues since X-Tinction Agenda omnibus does not collect any of those. Perhaps we are about to see another situation where these two books cross over eachother.
Omar, how far into the events omnis does X factor vol 1 cover and would a hypothetical X factor vol 2 likely go beyond the event omnis? Great video and keep up the good work!
Vol 2 would cover inferno & beyondq into judgment war stuff which isn’t collected elsewhere but could easily be a Judgment War omnibus in of itself to go between Inferno & Jim Lee vol 1.
Vol. 2 should either take them through xtinction agenda (60-62) or right before it, so it’s about 20 more issues of xfactor + side stories after the events.
As someone that started collecting about a year ago, I only have Uncanny 1 and 3 (waiting for reprints). Is it okay for me to get Prelude to Mutant Massacre and then the event omnis from there? Would I get a full Claremont run that way? (Just talking about Uncanny and not taking New Mutants or Excalibur into account)
I started in 21 when they reprinted massacre & such in quick succession, prelude was the book many wanted to effectively complete the Claremont experience in Omni format along with having a consistent chunk of x-factor from the start.
Get uncanny 1-4 Omnis, then go to the events Omnis with prelude to mutant massacre, mutant massacre Omni , the fall of the mutants Omni, inferno prologue Omni, inferno Omni, Claremont Jim Lee Omni 1, xtinction agenda omnibus, Claremont Jim Lee Omni 2. If you really want to go crazy/collect any relevant story from that era (this is unecessary) get secret wars Omni and new mutants vol 1-3 omnis. Secret wars and new mutants vol 1 are the most essential of those for story purposes/tie ins to uncanny. This gets you the entire era in hardback format (minus random issues of X-Factor that don’t matter.)
I would love a complete order to put the omnibuses in with all x related titles. It’s hard for me to figure out where to put the new mutants, wolverine, Excalibur ect.
I'm not Omar, but I'd like to think the chances are pretty good: it's a perfect omni-size chunk of material, and along with next month's X-Tinction Agenda omni would allow almost seamless progression from the event books + X-Men by Claremont & Lee vol. 1 into Claremont & Lee vol. 2, X-Factor by Peter David vol. 1, and X-Force vol. 1
As someone who is collecting all the X-Men Omnis the Mutant Massacre Prelude Omni is entirely unnecessary. I'm sure some people just want the highlights & that is why they are getting the Prelude Omni. The better question is what will Marvel do when it comes to collecting Uncanny X-Men Vol 6, how much double dipping will there be & am I going to buy it anyways, probably. ;)
I'm surprised there isn't more controversy regarding the material which is in the epics but not the omnis. To solve this, why not combine it with the entirety of Champions and some other mutant-related from the era in a companion omni? Uncanny X-Men Omnibus Companion: Champions (1975) #1-17; Iron Fist #14-15; Amazing Spider-Man #161; Marvel Team-Up #53, 69-70, 89, 117-118, 124, 135, 150, Annual #1; Iron Man Annual #4; Avengers #163: Super-Villain Team-Up #14; Peter Parker, the Spectacular Spider-Man #17-18; Incredible Hulk Annual #7; Power Man and Iron Fist #57; Spider-Woman #37-38; Marvel Two-In-One #76; Power Pack #12; Marvel Graphic Novel #17 - Revenge of the Living Monolith; Mephisto Vs.... #3; material from Amazing Adventures (1979) #2; What If? #27
Definitely not buying all three. I refused to buy UXM vol 5 when it was first announced and was staring at the potential gap for almost a year when Marvel announced the dream omnibus of MM Prelude. Now all they have to do is to announced a "New Mutants and X-Factor by Louise Simonson" omnibus to cover the gap between Inferno and X-Tinction Agenda and I am the happiest of a happy camper.
There's a 12 issue gap between where Inferno finishes with NM #73 and where NM vol. 4 will start at #86. If you throw in another 9 issues it bridges the gap to the NM issues in the X-Tinction Agenda omni, with the final few issues in X-Force vol. 1. Judgment War will be in X-Factor: the Original X-Men vol. 2, which will heavily double dip with the event books. XF needs a similar number of issues as NM to bridge the gap from Inferno to X-Tinction Agenda, so you might as well throw them in together With the proposed omni you could have NM vol. 1, the event books, X-Force vol. 1, X-Men by Claremont & Lee vol. 2, and X-Factor by Peter David vol. 1 to have everything from the two series (up to David leaving X-Factor, at least). Alternatively, you could have NM vol. 1-4, XF Original X-Men vol. 1-3, and XF by Peter David vol. 1 and still have everything.
Should compare also With mutant massacre ohc/omnibus and the epic for the XFactor part.. seems that only the mephisto vs is not collected otherwise.. but shouldn't there be also a mephisto vs xmen which Is collected nowhere at all...
I think I will stop Uncanny X-Men omnibusat the fourth volume ( (I already have got the first 3) and then I'll go by event. I checked out the solicit and I think it's the fairest way to get a overall overwiev of the X-men world. Arrived at X-men X-tinction agenda I will stop buying omnibus because I already have got X-Men Epic Collection 20-21-22-23(I am waiting for the 19's reprint). It sounds right, more or less?

I like to think I had a small part in its being made, since I kept bugging you about it on the Saturday Streams. You're the best, man. Now, to see if anyone will buy my UXM Vol. 5 Omni...
If they were announced altogether than I'd have had a choice! Instead Marvel knew that we'd buy vil 5 and end up double dipping or selling!
🍸Salute Omar👍 Yo, U kept ur word and it is greatly appreciated. I know u do alot daily . 🙏thank u sir, u didn't hav to but u did this for us anyway 🙏
I went the event omnibus route, not so worried about missing out on the x-factor stuff and dont have the temptation of another rabbit hole of having to go down.
It’s a like a choose your own adventure book!
@@loganwayne6411 Or just make an X-Factor: Judgment War Omni…
7:39 X-Treme X-Men Vol 2 spotted
Thanks for this followup video and deep dive. We need a visual flowchart to make it easier to follow! :D
I have been already getting the event omnis and had i known this prelude book would come out before UXM 5 I, probably would have waited.
I'd much prefer the individual run route with the main uncanny volumes but they are so much further behind in comparison to the events.
I went with the MM Prelude Dm. Thanks for everything you do Omar! Looking forward to that Triangle Era video 🤞
The inclusion of the Marvel Masterworks intros makes me want the Prelude version.
I'd honestly probably just go Uncanny X-Men route if we had a timeline of the next releases. In lieu of that, may just go with the event omnis.
Very helpful and informative
I am only interested in the Claremont X-men/New Mutant runs and the essential tie ins. Easy choice for me…
The choice is yours.
I have Uncanny X-men vol 5 and I was going to upgrade to the prelude omnibus until you said there was a word that was censored!
Thank you! I just finished X-Men uncanny omnibus 1 and about to start omnibus 2. Reading order after omnibus 3 seems a bit confusing to me, so this helps!
Event omni (MM Prelude) is so much better. It's hard to wrap my head around people who choose the other way. But different strokes...
I think I'm going the classic X-men and X-factor route.
I was going to stay loyal to UXM 5 since I love original X-Factor and was going to get it nonetheless...then I saw the spread cover under the dust jacket for the prelude and I love it. need it. want it. D:
I like to sing along with the jingles at the end of NMC vids! Ding! Eh?!
Based on just this Mutant massacre Prelude makes the most sense to me
Just secured my Mutant Massacre Prelude Omnibus this morning!
15th?
As someone who barely collects X-Men. I'd say I'd go with the Prelude as a bang for my buck. I don't see myself triple dipping. 😅
Just ordered Prelude to and plan on selling vol.5
I’m going with X factor personally.
Nman! Where have you been!!? I didn’t see you at Map My X and got worried. Good to see you around.
It really has been a struggle and I’m not over the whole thing. I might not ever be. I’m going to try to tune in more but I can’t promise. I really want to, but it is hard for me right now. However, I had to comment in regards to the whole MMP situation! We all know the saga of that! Again, you don’t know how much it means to me right now that you were worried about not seeing me. I didn’t mean to worry you or anyone, obviously, but the fact that you took time out of your day to respond to me now, truly means so much. Sorry for sounding like a broken record but honestly it means so much!🥹. Reach out if you want and hopefully I’ll start watching again. Thank you, Omar. 🥹🙏

That one Mephsito Vs. issue would have made the event omni way the completely perfect way.
But then it would’ve made the X-Factor Omni practically redundant
Currently have Uncanny 5. Am waiting for sale on X-Factor. Will skip Prelude.
I got the event omnis initially, because that was all that was available, but am going down the specific line route whenever possible.
The real question will be Ultimate Spider-Man Omni Vol 5 mapping (Unknown) vs Death of Spider-Man Event Omni Mapping (known)
They can’t be waiting for Death to vanish again to announce it…
I went with a mix of Uncanny and event Omnis.
That's why I chose to go with the X-Factor omnibus instead of trying to replace my UXM vol.5.
They should do a Judgment War Omni which’ll cover that whole period post inferno going into Agenda
I do appreciate your trying to explain the differences.👍
I can’t say I fully understand, but more to the point I’m not thrilled how Marvel has released these double and triple and quadruple dipping of the same material.
I’m definitely not a fan of that.
They never should have made it so confusing and overlapping.
If anything it just makes me uninterested to figure it out.
Collecting these issues should not require deep research as well as deep pockets.
I can’t say I’m sure, but I’m looking at Marvel as greedy and responsible for what to me is not about having different choices,
But greed on their part. 🤷♂️
Conan selling how it did made them naively think they could play around with the big lines.
Taking people for granted.
@@g-roy23 hmm yes ✌️
yeah =(...omar called it a "wonderful era" that just made me laugh/cry a little
Got Uncanny 5 last year before knowing the Prelude was coming.
I have uncanny vol 5 and im keeping it and getting the prelude. Wont be getting x-factor vol 1 though.
The lack of letter pages in the numbered volume is BAFFLING
Becuase it reeks of Marvel being revisionist in how they viewed the X-Men/og X-Factor material in omnibus format.
If I don’t care much for the X-Factor stuff, should I just keep my UXM Vol 5? Also great breakdown Omar.
What are you keeping Omar?
Knowing you both.😄
I wish i would have gotten the prelude, but seeing i'm already knee deep in the numbered X-men omnie's i might as well stick with those..
@@Ythelastnerd They had already released a prelude to Inferno, so why didn't you hold out for the announcement for one for Mutant Massacre?

Not a fan of this X-Factor run so I am fine with vol 5. To me there is a clear difference in writing quality between that and X-Men.
I sold uncanny xmen 5 for near enough the price of prelude :)
My UXM 1-4 are all the old spines. I have UXM 5 with the mutant spine so I’ll be swapping out for the prelude Omni. What a sucker.

I went with prelude & x factor.
Hey what bookshelves are you using to store your large hardcovers?
All the letter pages had. Went to check my single issues.
Now I want to cancel my prelude preorder and get the XF omni. 😮💨
What would the mapping for Uncanny 6 be?
Omar, what is the chance we see some sort of Inferno Aftermath Omni to finish up on New Mutants and x-factor if we go the event route?
I'm not Omar, but I'd like to think the chances are pretty good: it's a perfect omni-size chunk of material, and along with next month's X-Tinction Agenda omni would allow almost seamless progression from the event books + X-Men by Claremont & Lee vol. 1 into Claremont & Lee vol. 2, X-Factor by Peter David vol. 1, and X-Force vol. 1
Is prelude a good starting Omni for X-men?
Yes ... Yes I am fucking mad and got all three
As someone who is collecting all the X-Men Omnis the Mutant Massacre Prelude Omni is entirely unnecessary. I'm sure some people just want the highlights & that is why they are getting the Prelude Omni.
The better question is what will Marvel do when it comes to collecting Uncanny X-Men Vol 6, how much double dipping will there be & am I going to buy it anyways, probably. ;)
Want mutant massacre but marvel led me to believe it’s not happening and so I got uncanny 5 and now I’m stuck with it
You are allowed to sell books :)
@@nickbaker1541 who would want it now though realistically
Can’t you just call it a champions omnibus?
Definitely not buying all three. I refused to buy UXM vol 5 when it was first announced and was staring at the potential gap for almost a year when Marvel announced the dream omnibus of MM Prelude. Now all they have to do is to announced a "New Mutants and X-Factor by Louise Simonson" omnibus to cover the gap between Inferno and X-Tinction Agenda and I am the happiest of a happy camper.
New Mutants Vol 4
X-Factor: Judgment War
There's a 12 issue gap between where Inferno finishes with NM #73 and where NM vol. 4 will start at #86. If you throw in another 9 issues it bridges the gap to the NM issues in the X-Tinction Agenda omni, with the final few issues in X-Force vol. 1.
Judgment War will be in X-Factor: the Original X-Men vol. 2, which will heavily double dip with the event books.
XF needs a similar number of issues as NM to bridge the gap from Inferno to X-Tinction Agenda, so you might as well throw them in together
With the proposed omni you could have NM vol.
Several other issues are not collected, namely Secret Wars II #5 and Marvel Fanfare #40 (Partial) according to the solicits.
@@UXPose yeah but swII #5 you can get on the swII collections..
To verify... Mephisto #2 is ONLY available in X-Factor's omnibus, yes?
Yes, that's correct.
Thanks!
