The mini lathes coming along nicely. Runs smoothly at high RPM's and liking the VFD settings. The Mamod project will make some interesting videos... Cheers Kevin
The lathe is looking great Ade. Not sure about the new camera angle, my sticker is invisible 😁 (Only kidding). Some excellent chucks there and tins of blue from the viewer 👍 Thanks for the update, cheers, Craig
Ade, if you remember, I asked about your Mill. And moved / tilted the head. I did talk to some USA people, and they said that, it would be a good idea to purchase one with this feature. I like your Mill's table size. I wanted it to match my new Lathe. It has an 11" swing x 30" distance center. The mini mill I have. It's okay drilling, tap and general milling. So you were very helpful for the future mill I'm going to purchase. Thanks alot... ☺️
I fitted a 3ph motor and VFD to my ML7 a few months ago and it's transformed the lathe, so easy to adjust the feeds and speeds and get rid of the dreaded chatter at the turn of a dial.
first of all I'm blown away by the quality of the work on the many lathe the outcome is fantastic bravo my friend otherwise overall very good video I like the new angle at the beginning. mostly because I can see my sticker over your left shoulder. So just let me finish saying and saying oh my family's best to your family I hope all is well be well be safe and we'll see you next week.
Steven is awesome to be such a contributor to the channel… Hey Steven will you be my friend? There’s a few things that I could use. Get an ultrasonic cleaner and it will do wonders in the part’s cleaning process
drive belt for the mamod. oil seals on a lot of motor vehicle have the same spring in them.....wash off and study carefully and find the joint. right hand thread in the spring so twist ends ant clockwise.... a few old seals for free.......ask around local garages...... never need to buy any more belts
Ade, be careful with vinegar, it's an acid and it will eat the metal. Yes you can remove scale, and rust, but too long and you could have holes in sheet metal, or make steel very rough.
Ade, today 27th June, googling for a quiet air compressor I saw your advert for the Hyundai Air compressor, well filmed, congratulations on the tie In.
Ade that looks fantastic, well done. I was wondering, can you use the mini lathe for screw cutting? I can't fathom that out now that the leads screw is driven by the stepper motor, please educate me 🤣🤣🤣🤣
@@ade63dug my Dymo printer is a fairly fancy one and found it particularly useful for printing safety warnings to go on machine tools once I have refurbished them. Typically I use it for electrical hazard warning pictograms on machine control system enclosures.
i don't no about you but with all these Chinese electrical items we use in our shops i fitted a power off switch at the shed power panel that isolates all the power going in to the shed so nothing is left on while I'm out you never no
Those Metabo’s look like they were made before the unification of West and East Germany as I have a couple that came from Rotagrip. Don’t get too excited about the Jacobs chuck as they have been made in China for quite a number of years now and the quality is nowhere as near as good as what the Jacobs’s brand was synonymous with.
Lovely channel donations, most magnanimous by who ever.
Thanks for sharing

Gday Ade, the mini lathe is coming along nicely, I had a viewer send in the same micrometer blue last week, thanks for the update mate, cheers
Brilliant video Ade. Great job on the mini lathe. The electrics are working perfectly.
Thanks for the update Ade. The mini lathe looks and sounds great, well done on the electrics and motion! Mower on order👍😁. Cheers, Jon
Thanks Ade for an interesting shed talk. 👍😀

👍very nice set up.
Brilliant work with the settings on the VFD Ade. I love the smell of meths burning too. Cheers Tony
I use citric acid crystals. Absolutely nukes limescale. I use it for cleaning scuba diving regulator parts in my ultrasonic

What 3 horse wow that’s a big one what advantages do you find
@@johnmcdyer7297 I think he used a 3 phase motor not a 3 horse. A 3 horse could tear the lathe apart!
@@jamesreed6121 thought it was a bit overpowered ha great lathe is the super 7 tho
Just read his comment again aren’t I a silly asss

Just bought an ML10, so sounds like you'll have some good projects for me coming up. Nice.

A week in vinegar is too long. Do it just enough so as not to damage the brass or solder.

No . I have no plans for screw cutting with it . the stepper is purely a feed screw now . Cheers Ade.
Get yourself a cheap electronic Dymo printer - I wouldn’t be without mine in the shop!
I have a fancy one . not shown it yet. Cheers Ade.

Hi Ade,
definitely not the correct drain plug in your Mamod and not that it really matters but its missing the canopy.
ATB
I have a source for a canopy . Happy days . Cheers Ade.
Hi Ade, if your sourcing a mamod canopy be careful as the early canopy fixings differ from the later ones 👍

Yes . My shed is isolated when I walk out the door . Winter time I have a Heater that is European made with a thermostat. Happy days . Cheers Ade.

The screw is very worrying, not correct, could be wrong thread.
Thanks Ade
