    The lathe is looking great Ade. Not sure about the new camera angle, my sticker is invisible 😁 (Only kidding). Some excellent chucks there and tins of blue from the viewer 👍 Thanks for the update, cheers, Craig

    Ade, if you remember, I asked about your Mill. And moved / tilted the head. I did talk to some USA people, and they said that, it would be a good idea to purchase one with this feature. I like your Mill's table size. I wanted it to match my new Lathe. It has an 11" swing x 30" distance center. The mini mill I have. It's okay drilling, tap and general milling. So you were very helpful for the future mill I'm going to purchase. Thanks alot... ☺️

    I fitted a 3ph motor and VFD to my ML7 a few months ago and it's transformed the lathe, so easy to adjust the feeds and speeds and get rid of the dreaded chatter at the turn of a dial.

    Ade that looks fantastic, well done. I was wondering, can you use the mini lathe for screw cutting? I can't fathom that out now that the leads screw is driven by the stepper motor, please educate me 🤣🤣🤣🤣

    • @ade63dug
      @ade63dug  Год назад +1

      No . I have no plans for screw cutting with it . the stepper is purely a feed screw now . Cheers Ade.

    Ade, be careful with vinegar, it's an acid and it will eat the metal. Yes you can remove scale, and rust, but too long and you could have holes in sheet metal, or make steel very rough.

    A week in vinegar is too long. Do it just enough so as not to damage the brass or solder.

    drive belt for the mamod. oil seals on a lot of motor vehicle have the same spring in them.....wash off and study carefully and find the joint. right hand thread in the spring so twist ends ant clockwise.... a few old seals for free.......ask around local garages...... never need to buy any more belts

      @@ade63dug my Dymo printer is a fairly fancy one and found it particularly useful for printing safety warnings to go on machine tools once I have refurbished them. Typically I use it for electrical hazard warning pictograms on machine control system enclosures.

    Those Metabo’s look like they were made before the unification of West and East Germany as I have a couple that came from Rotagrip. Don’t get too excited about the Jacobs chuck as they have been made in China for quite a number of years now and the quality is nowhere as near as good as what the Jacobs’s brand was synonymous with.
