Made something similar to that with some 90grain bullets made for the 30 carbine. Used a little trail boss powder. Speeds of 950fps. They were surprisingly accurate at 100 yards.
yeah, I've done the same with some 113 gr bullets and then switched over to the NOE 135 gr bullets for the pointier nose and higher bc. Super fun to lob those slow moving light bullets out there a ways.
No prob, it took me longer than I originally thought because I threw in more footage and did more explaining. I wanted to make the video a bit better. Glad you enjoyed it.
Nice Video Taco. Love the 300 AAC single shot rounds. You need to do this in the 500 S&W Magnum with round balls sub-sonic. Maybe in a 500 S&W special brass...Call them gum balls or something...Love you videos. Keep up the great work.
I'm doing it with the same round ball, but I'm using 32 S&W long brass and a 16 inch 327 federal adapter. I push the ball down in the case with a number 2 pencil. It only takes half a grain of powder and it sounds like a cb cap.
Very good video. Any reason you're using Unique? I would think case capacity would be an issue unless you pack the case w/ cotton or something else. I tried using a pistol powder in the past for subsonic rifle. I had unreliable ignition. Again, very good video.
I'm using bullseye powder for this one. Bullseye powder is known to work well with small charges and extra air space in the case (the 300 blk case is similar in size to some pistol cartridges). You would not want to use any filler with bullseye powder. Trailboss is another great powder to use for this type of scenario, but if you want a higher percentage of case fill. I used trailboss in the 30-06 for pretty much the same thing: ruclips.net/video/OutZ62LyVcE/видео.html
I was going to comment about trailboss also. TB has been good for 308 subs and I think .223 subs. 1680 is what I was using for my 300blk subs when I was reloading. Haven't touched my press since ammo became available and came down in price.
@@goosedeathable Trailboss is great because it fills up the case to give you a higher case fill %... If you're shooting a bolt gun or break action in 300blk, you can do some super quiet light bullet or mid range bullet subs using a faster pistol powder like trailboss which sounds AWESOME
@@FullLeadTaco i corrected my comment. I meant to put 410 (shot-gun). Like a taurus judge can shoot 410 and 45LC i was thinking it could also be done with squirrel loads from a 410 shotgun with a round ball in 45LC brass.
So 40 grains at sub sonic speeds. I get that is is mostly for the fun of it, but is there anything that this would be preferable to say a .22LR for? Only thing I can think of is you can`t really practically reload rim fires.
not too long ago, 22 ammo was crazy expensive and hard to find--nice to have options i suppose. but to your point, yeah, a 22 pretty much does the same thing.
@@FullLeadTaco cool! I'm debating if a Ruger American Rifle in 7,62x39 would be a better choice than 300blk. You think one could experiment just as much with the russian chambering?
@@TheHiddenPart the 300 blk might be slightly more versatile because it uses .308 bullets instead of the Russian larger sizes bullets. Also the fast twist on the 300blk will allow heavier bullets
Since you did this with 300blk, you should try it with 458 socom lol, load up some 457 swaged round balls from Hornady, the 147 grainers, after powder coating. Definitely need to chrono though!
Thanks for spreading the knowledge. I wish I was your neighbor.
Lol, if you were, we'd probably have a great time shooting
I found a mold for a 30 carbine 110g, use them in my 30-06 with a little Unique, quite pleasant to shoot. I even powder coated them green! 😎🌮
Ha ha, oh yeah!
jim, have you watched this video I did with the 30-06 a while back? ruclips.net/video/OutZ62LyVcE/видео.html
Quickload says the velocity should be 857 fps
nice, thanks!
You do great videos.
Thanks man, I appreciate it.

That's just to cool.. could you get a velocity reading with those ?
I haven't chrono'd them yet, never really needed to since they were just a fun load--but next time I load some up, I will try to chrono them.
Hi can use, Hodgdon Trail Boss, and how many Gr?
Even a full case up to the base of the bullet would be safe according to the Trailboss load data technique, but I'd probably use a bit less.
RUclips is starting to really suck with all the censorship.
Yeah man, and no reason other than political
Thanks man! I just about asked you about this to see if you found it yesterday.
Brandon. Good request!

@@FullLeadTaco sure is! Just got an NOE 311-127-fn and it makes a nice mushroom on ar500 steel with .4 gr of Titewad.
That’s really cool ( TACO ) and thank for not telling any one HOW to load this round
Lol
You are having way too much fun😎. And it is WAY too cold there. Loved the video!
always doing fun stuff with guns
Such a cool idea! Do you think it would work in a 277 Wolverine bolt rifle ok?
Yeah, should... Just gotta find the right size round ball or size one down a little
@@FullLeadTaco thanks, Looks like I’m on the hunt for a mold 👍🏼
neat
the pea shooter load is pretty fun
That was pretty cool now to get it to run through your AR
Lol
Lol, good one Bud
Whaaa?!?! That is awesome!!!! A real pea shooter... Great stuff man! Thanks for sharing 👍💥
no prob, thanks for watching!
I know this is an old vid but you can get no. 1.5 buck shot from ballistic products which is .310”
Cheap plinkers when you can find primers
700 fps out of a 30-30 or 308/30-06 is same as a .22 LR great for rabbits, squirrel, turtle, grouse etc
yeah, such a light, but cool purpose built load
@@FullLeadTaco I been playing with round ball loads for years
Do you have any experience with the MP 300blk 235 HP mold?
I don't think so, but do you have a link?
I'm wondering how quiet/noisy these are without a suppressor.
yeah, that would be good to test too.
Fun video, thanks!
Fun load
You have me so looking forward to reloading for the ruger ranch I just received.
lol, reloading for the 300blk is so much fun... so many cool loads are possible
What break action are you using?
CVA break action 300 blk
That is so cool and nice and quiet. For sure a good pest projectile. Good job. New sub here and hit the bell.
Thanks for the sub, and hope you enjoy your time on my channel
@@FullLeadTaco Im sure i will. Weapons and research and development are a big part of my life.
I looked like you had a bunch of sixlets in your hand. I wonder what caliber sixlets are 🤔
i wonder if a primer would be enough to fire sixlets?
Did you try shooting without a can? If so, how loud was the report? Too loud to shoot without hearing protection?
You could try it, I think they sounded similar to a 22
They look just like peas! LOL Quieter than a suppressed .22LR! Fun stuff Taco
Just a real quiet fun load... people always get a kick out of shooting the peashooter loads.
Full.Lead.Taco Do you know the weight of these “peas”?
oh hilarious! thanks for the vid, i may have to load some of those now, might even go black powder to be even more silly
Lol
Thanks a lot now I gotta spend my stimulus money on a single shot 300bo pew.

i bought a 300 blackout,after my first few shots,,,i knew i had a pea shooter,

normally you'd use pure lead with round balls, but I used the same alloy as my 45 acp bullets.

no, I don't think I ever chrono'd those loads. Kind of a fun little load though.
I'm guessing this was accomplished with 1:10 twist barrel?
Just an 8 twist, but we've shot them with the 7 twist also just fine. Just don't want to push them too fast in a fast twist barrel.
