    The 4th's speech in Genesis Of The Daleks is the so freakin good.

    If there's a second video, I'd nominate Tom Baker's Homo Sapiens speech from "The Ark in Space". Besides being a brilliant speech in it's own right, it was the moment when 11 year old me forgave him for not being Jon Pertwee.

      Imagine a scene like that in almost any drama today. It'd be tears, speeches, and enough ham to make finger rolls for a very large buffet.

    Excellent selections! I concur with all of these choices. I would also nominate Colin Baker’s Time Lord corruption rant, Hartnell’s speech in the Aztecs about changing history, and McCoy’s cafe scene in Remembrance of the Daleks.

      @Benjiesbeenbetter. Well he wasn't as dainty and feeble as Davison, who constantly moaned about having to carry Nicola Bryant. Not one other actor who had to do likewise joined in... Colin Baker, Christopher Gable, John Stratton or Brian Blessed.

    Earthshocks great moment was the Doctor using the ship's computerr to seal the bridge from the advancing cybermen, embedding one of them in the sealing material!

    Damn the first four Doctor’s were so good, so different from each other and brilliantly acted. Peter Davison was great too in his way.

    • @Benjiesbeenbetter.
      @Benjiesbeenbetter. 5 месяцев назад

      Davison was disadvantaged by the production during his time. JNT had no idea how to run the show. He was more concerned with showbiz pizazz and celeb casting. When the writer of The Awakening got stuck and was struggling to complete four episodes, JNT said "It's ok, give us what you've got and we'll do it as a two oarter instead".

    I didn’t realize till watching this how Jo’s exit must have reminded him of Susan. Best classic speech is definitely “have I the right” in genesis though.

    Nicely done. I don't have a particular order, but my favorites would include the end of Inferno part 6 when Pertwee escapes as the parallel Earth succumbs to fire, the jump rope scene in Robot, and when Tom spars with Davros in Genesis.

    • @Benjiesbeenbetter.
      @Benjiesbeenbetter. 5 месяцев назад +2

      Any scene with Michael Wisher's Davros could make the list. I know Terry Molloy and Julian Bleach are the fan favourites, but Michael Wisher was incredible in the part. His only physical movement was his mouth and his lower arm. He remained otherwise immobile, yet dominated every scene he was in.
      I think it's because of his extraordinary performance that I've always thought of Davros as an unnecessary inclusion in later Dalek stories and tire of him very quickly. Basically he spoiled me for any other Davros!

    I still remember, as a child watching the show, seeing Adric die. I cried and cried, it was so unfair. As an adult now, looking back on this, it's still so so unfair. He had a special badge for mathematical excellence. I always loved maths, was good at it. Still am today. So so unfair.

  • @SuperBartles

    The Genesis of the Daleks clip was indeed great moment for Dr Who - another fantastic scene in that story was when the Doctor & Davros are together alone after the Doctor has been forced to reveal how the Daleks later failed throughout history, & Davros is triumphant. The Doctor threatens to turn off his life support system.
    Interesting that Davros is one of the few beings (should I say humans?) that the Dr is prepared to kill (2 or 3 times)
    A bit less Sylvester McCoy & Ace would improve this list mightily.

    Most of these don't cut it for me. Well, everyone's different. But for me, any Greatest Moments set that doesn't have the moment in the Capitol where Tom Baker turns round and realises that the Vardans weren't his main problem, doesn't have anything.

      There's the 4th Dorctor's goodbye to Sarah Jane as well - they were good at the farewell scenes.
      Adric's death was pretty tragic - I remember there was no music in the credits after that, so it really was a shock (though not quite as bad as Blakes 7 brutally killing off all the heroes in the final scene. That was quite traumatic)
