Oh I LOVE that first win! Shelley Smith is one of the all time greats and the way she said "THE LORD!" just gave the answer to the player. And I love when contestants are as excited and gracious as this one was.
The only wrinkle though you didn't win both $10,000 and $25,000 together. You only won the top score available sadly. Still $25,000 isn't bad when you already were guaranteed $10k minimum had she not reached the top.
Back in the good days where you can win $25000 without winning the $10000 first. Didn’t like the Donny Osmond version especially when celebrities screwed up the game now and then.
@@TripSoul10 well in the older pyramid pre 80s no that's true, but in the 80s version you did win $25,000 if you reach the top even if you didn't reach the $10,000 top which was nice when that happened

Pyramid having the most exciting and legendary bonus round of all game shows, this illustrates the one serious flaw of that show, and that was that your 2nd shot at the Winner's Circle REPLACED whatever you won the first time around; so for doing the very rare feat of winning both WCs in the same episode, she doesn't get rewarded with anything extra. So essentially, she gets the same prize as people who completely bombed in their first attempt and then won in their 2nd. The more expected game-show-thing-to-do would be to offer a special bonus for winning both, not sure why they always had that very strange nonsensible rule.
@@LogoMan7777 If you bombed on the first WC but won only the second WC, you win $25,000 total. If you won BOTH WCs in spectacular fashion, you still win $25,000 total. So essentially if you make it to the 2nd and win it, you win the same amount of total money whether you sucked or not the first time around. You don't see the flaw in that system?
@@lobstertexas I see the fact that you won both games as a major accomplishment. On The $20K Pyramid, you had to bomb the WC twice in order to play for the top prize. If you won the first one, you won $10K and went home. If you lost the first but won the second, $15K. Lost the first two but won the third, $20K. Do you see the flaw in that system?
@@LogoMan7777 I think we agree on this. It is a big deal to make it to the top of the pyramid with two different celebs in the same show, and I was just observing how silly it was that you didn't get rewarded as such for doing both. On the version you speak of, I wonder if anyone threw the earlier WCs on purpose so they could go for the higher ones? 🙃
I noticed Stu hesitated about 5 seconds on the 5th clue. Would it have made a difference? Probably. But my gosh what a sharp and energetic contestant she was. That $100000 episode with her in it would have been one for the ages.
Loved this show---(I mean the whole franchise of $10,000 Pyramid; wonder why there are only a few on RUclips, never on BUZZR. GSN shows the 25,000 and 100,000 when they're not overloading with Family Feud everyday. Most people won't post 10,000 , 20k and Cullen's because they're inclined to get taken down. I've probably just been lucky. Otherwise, I don't know where else besides here:)
@@samturner64 Hi,Sam! Pyramid (Clark and Cullen eras)were always a favorite of mine. How many of these shows do you have? I would love to have these someday.
Of course not, on my channel, Pyramid is ALWAYS welcome! With Daytime, I have a good 10 more episodes of 10k and maybe about 50-60 more of 20k. I have a trove of Cullen's (about 20ish) and several 50k. For the 25k and 100k runs, I just have too many to count.
The original, Dick Clark-hosted *"$100,000 Pyramid"* ran in syndication for 550 episodes; so with this being episode #484, the show was pretty much "on life support" by this point.

Incredibly good guesser.
Sadly, this the was the last $25,000 during Clark's run on the PM show.
It seems like game shows of the 1980s when they do a "some of our departing contestants will receive" as stills of products use a totally 1980s wipe.
