Also I noticed that Whopperflower Albedo's sentences get longer before fighting him. Meaning that the Flower version can evolve over time.
My guess is the imposter was too perfect. Being able to copy and mimic others without people knowing. Also, being able to crate stuff with limited effort.

Also, what Albedo in Mondstadt says about being a gardener to me looks like a big reference to the fact that he created subject 3 from a plant, suggesting it's actually subject 2 speaking.
Also, if Albedo in Mondstadt wasn't subject 2, mihoyo would have never put a dialog about the traveler second-guessing it: it's a practical measure to make sure that everybody reading, not only "conspiracy theorists", can second-guess too (the same thing they did when traveler and eula realized that at some point albedo was actually subject 3)

However, in the event, real Albedo (subject 1) killed subject 3 and drawing his sword on the cutscene with subject 2. Thus, "I dont think being a gardener is so bad" would mean he could and would accept the duty of killing other fake albedo.

In the Camp, Albedo was conflicted whether creating life was something only gods be prevy to. After talking to the Traveler and pondering on his views, and the fact that he is a LIFE made by Gold. His views on creating life had changed.
That's why he talks about being a Gardener in Mondstat, he already made a decision. Whether it's the wrong decision or not, Albedo is now following the path of his Master Rhinedottir/Gold, being a Gardener.
Now, since Mihoyo practically shouted to the players Albedo will be walking the path of his Master, his fate of potentially destroying Mondstat or even Teyvat has already set it's course.

When I came back to Mondstadt and talked to Albedo I got this weird feeling that something is wrong with him again and assumed he's the first Albedo. The first Albedo wants to dispose of the traveller and the original Albedo. The Albedo we all talked to in the end of the event wants to force us to goiing to Dragonspine to get Paimon's sunsettias when Paimon wants it back. He keeps trying to force us to going there, probably because he wants to get rid of the traveller.
Dragonspine is a dangerous place, of course he'd choose that. Many cliffs to fall off from, many caves to get trapped in plus the snow and the cold that could freeze us to death. Not to mention the fatui and the abyss creatures, our enemies. He could use them all as traps with his intelligence(leading the traveller near a fatui camp, setting up a trap near a cliff etc)

If they learned that Albedo is the brother of Durin (the same dragon who waged war to Mondstadt and cause a large number of casualties) and another person with the same face that may cause some bloodshed... So this is what ı think happened. In the case of Joserf if he woke up in a place he didn't recognize and had non of his belongings nearby and was covered with blood it probably means "someone" found him and brought him someplace else cause we can clearly see his belongings still being there under that cliff he fell. As for why he was "still" covered in blood was probably it wasn't his own. It was probably durin's blood. And as for the "someone" it was probably Susbedo (Subject 2). Maybe he found Joserf dead and brought him to his camp somewhere hidden in dragonspine and resurrected him with durin's blood or if not dead just saved him from dying but when Joserf woke up Susbedo wasn't around so he left his camp and eventually was found by Pallad. When Susbedo returned to his camp Joserf wasn't there so if he had any ideas about experimenting on him also was out of the window at that point. If he did save him because he didn't want to experiment on him this suggests that Susbedo has empathy towards other human beings and that adds a bit of character to him. As for Albedo at mondstadt as you have stated in the video we don't know if Albedo could or would change his appearance. What ı got from that part was that Subject two was mocking the traveler about how he/she can't tell them apart without the diamond mark thus his smugness. Maybe albedo talked with him and came to an agreement where when he spends his time experimenting on dragon spine subject 2 can be Albedo in his absence. Besides Albedo said himself that he still had business in dragonspine at the end of the quest and ı see few ways he managed to race us to mondstadt and changed his mind about the whole "gardener" deal. Maybe said business was him talking with Subject 2 and coming to an agreement. After said business Susbedo makes his way to mondstadt while we are at the camp just outside dragonspine thus catchinng up with us. Idk the idea that we should now consider which albedo we are talking to brings such depth to his quests from now on.

Albedo in the story said that "another Albedo" wanted to kill and replace "original Albedo", and there is a thing that concern me - the last cinematic shows that Albedo unsheathe his sword and goes after "Albedo", who might've been "original Albedo" all along, this logic implies that the Albedo who we've been following is actually "another" one.

according to you and many others susbedo changed his appearance to match that of albedo, so it means he can change his form, now if all he wanted was to experience the joy of being human, couldn't he have just used a random form, or even created a new form and lived his life as a human even tho he isn't actually one?
what i am trying to suggest is that either he already had the same form as albedo, or he was corrupted by durin's blood, and couldn't think straight and instead of being reasonable, he wanted vengeance against the one who had doomed him, although it wasn't albedo's fault that he was disposed, it's easier to blame something like that on someone that is alive, so instead of being happy that he got to live life happily, he wanted to live life as someone else, which led to him trying to replace albedo

  • @somebody546
    @somebody546 2 года назад +5

I have this wild, stupid theory that doesnt make sense but i find it interesting.
So in short: Our Albedo has been lying to us
And by that I mean everything.
Ok maybe not every single detail, but most of it is a lie.
I think that he is the failed experiment and the other Albedo is the successful one.
The main reason why i think this is the case is very simple: Rhinedotter is a crazy perfectionist.
Just to mention: all these are just speculations and theories about Rhinedotter, this is simply how i think Rhinedotter is based on some things we know. The only canon thing we know about her personality is that she is a cold woman since Albedo said that in one of his character stories.
Ok lets start: Rhinedotter made countless 'human prototypes' and disposed of them bc they were imperfect or they were unsuccessful.
Our Albedo has that star on his neck, an imperfection. Do you really think that someone like Rhinedotter would be fully satisfied with our Albedo? He may have been a successful human experiment but he still has an imperfection that makes him less of a human, and even if he was perfect, she would probably try to achieve something new, for example: a synthetic human that can age.
Lets continue our talk about Rhinedotter, when Albedo said "dispose" i think that Rhinedotter actually "abandons" her subjects.
In one of Albedo stories we can learn that Rhinedotter threatened Albedo that he would leave him, abandone him if he failed to meet ger expectations.
She also made those wolfs that cause corrosion by accident, meaning that they certainly are not something she wanted and have some things that Rhine doesnt like. But she didnt kill them or anything, she simply let them roam around.
I think that Rhine never really killed her experiments, she just left them alone, left them be on their own.
From one of Albedos stories we also learned that after finding and artifact in a domain, his master Rhine left him and rold him to go find Alice (Klees mother), after he found her, she found him a laboratory and he became a captain of Knights of Favonius.
Rhinedotter abandoned our Albedo like the rest of her experiments, after finding an artifact in a domain. Maybe an artifact that can hell her to make an even more perfect human? Maybe a human that wont have that star shaped mark?
Now that I gave you a little "background" for you to better understand my theory, let me telk you my theory:
Our Albedo is actually successful human experiment i terms of making a human, but a failure in terms "perfect human" because of that mark that IS an imperfection.
After a while Rhine abandoned our Albedo and made her second human, the "fake Albedo" or subject Two. He doesnt have a star shaped mark anywhere on his body hence he is a "perfect human" in Rhinedotters eyes.
When he was talling us his story maybe he was talking about himself in a way?
After coming to mondstat he acted like he was a normal human to see of other peoppe could feel that something is "off" about him. He wanted To understand better what made him imperfect? And to maybe understand what it takes or feels like to be a real, perfect human? Fake it till you make it i guess.
The "fake Albedo", subject Two or in my theory "the perfect synthetic human" was maybe interested in our Albedo and decided to pay him a visit to analyze him.
Orrrrrr our Albedo who was abandoned after being deemed imperfect by Rhinedotter found after some years the "perfect Albedo" and wanted to take his place, so he did? And now the "other Albedo" let him be and is observing him.
Im going to be honest, when Albedo was telling his story and when he named himself "subject one" and the other albedo "subject two" my first thought was "wait wouldn't it be more logical for you to be subject two bc you came second and the fake albedo subject one because he was made before you?"
It sounds dumb but hey this is Mihoyo and they love dropping small things like these some that when we finay get answers and go back to things that were mentioned we realize that it was foreshadowing. I could wrong as hell tho ofc
    Now: why is Albedo lying?
I dont really have an answer for this but i can think of some reasons if Albedo is lying about the order in which him and the other Albedo were made. Since the reason why he would lie if he took "other Albedo"s place is very obvious.
    1) when do we lie and why? when we want to sound better to other people ans we dont want them to pity us. Maybe Albedo is doing the same thing here. He made it sound like he was a successful experiment.
    2) Albedo sees Rhinedotter as his only kin, as his mother, this was mentioned both in this event and his character stories. Lets say that you're mother or someone dear to you that you love very much has abandoned you. Would you accept it or would you try to think of valid reasons why that person would do that? Maybe you would accept it but that isnt the case for everyone. Being in denial is a very normal human reaction and can be a coping mechanism.
So maybe Albedo is denial and is not only lying to us but also to himself
    3) Albedo actually doesnt know and is wrong. In this case he wouldnt be lying, he thinks that the "fake albedo" is a "prototype human" but its actually his "younger brother" that Rhine made bc Albedo was not perfect like i mentioned earlier.
Albedo may have said that "humans are defined by their imperfections" but that isnt something Rhinedotter believes in.
I COULD BE WRONG AS HELL AND I PROBABLY AM BUT THIS IS JUST A THEORY OFC.
but eve if THIS specific theory isnt correct and doesn't make sense, i still feel like Albedo is lying about something or isnt tlling us everything.

From the first Dragonspine quest and from Albedo's nature, we know Albedo likes to do experiments and test things out. I have a theory that Albedo was merely running another one of his experiments on us. Mainly since through my play through at the end scene he walks up to the crafting bench, I could clearly see his neck and it had the mark. It was only after Albedo directly address us that the mark disappears merely for a second, long enough for us to notice but not comment not it.

I could argue though that Albedo never really is a smug-type of a person. Yes, he smiled when his cooking skill was complemented, but never his character quite as smug as seen in the last part. To validate more that he's not the real albedo, why tell the traveler and paimon to preserve food with such primitive solutions. We could see him create items through paintings or by alchemical means, yet why did he propose such an inconvenient and impractical solution? Plus, Albedo never really delved into gardening more than that last scene.

He said he doesn't know why the letter sent him there, in actuality, he knows Alice (Klee's mother) was the mastermind of the letter. WE just know he knows coz of the smug on his face that is exactly the same like he did at the winter event. Just to add a nugget on how our Albedo probably can't or won't remove his mark is in the story of the glassblower and how the mark is his core.

Excellent work all around. Never knew why people think they killed each other’s in that cutscene where Albedo draws his sword.
It just seems to me like subject two walks away to disappear yet everyone thinks he got down from that mountain and killed the real Albedo. That’s kind of a really long stretch.
Also one thing I noticed wasn’t pointed out here, is how the first Albedo we see at Mondstadt at the beginning of the quest, is subject 2.
You can tell he tried to pass as Albedo by stealing his appearance, but didn’t understand a thing Thimoteus said when he started talking about alchemy. Which is what left subject 2 to travel back to Dragonspine and steal Albedo alchemy notes.
Basically, at no point in that quest did we see Albedo in Mondstadt, that much I’m sure.

During our final conversation “Albedo” mentioned gardener. Only the real one told us about gardener earlier, in his lab. Besides, would this “Albedo at the end” joke about this mark willingly? He and the traveller both know that the mark is the only way to differ the real one from impostor. Would the Susbedo make such a risky move?

Absolutely love your take. Didn't think about the resurrection ability of Durin's blood, that was fascinating although our lack of evidence continues to gnaw at us. I wonder now if Durin will rise again in some other form now that 'resurrection' is on the cards.
I'm still questioning the time when Eula saw 'Albedo' bringing Joel to the edge of Dragonspine, unfortunately we have no other info about it. Also, Albedo said "many years later" before the resurrection took place (for Susbedo), so I'm still suspicious of Joserf's "resurrection" (albeit we didn't have a time frame for his disappearance). At this point, we can be sure he's not a whopperflower, but does that rule out the possibility of him being created by 'dragon blood and alchemy' (from Albedo's dialogue)? And I wonder if this is connected to Joel's encounter with Susbedo.
    Anyhow, love the vid!

hello @CatWithBlueHat so if you don't mind pls focus on my theory....
so in the cutscene where albedo goes to find subject two he discovers that subject two is taking care of joserf and ressurecting him. Fakebedo then sheaths his sword to kill the real albedo but real albedo drops his sword which stutters the fakebedo then they both talk to each other and things get resolved and they make a treaty like both of them can live with other humans and their is no need to eleminate each other so the real albedo stays in dragonspine researching the Fake albedo enjoys being accompanied by humans and if we think about it no one could have ressurected joserf but albedo and fake albedo. SO this might be the good ending both of them doing what they really wanted to. ALSO the story told by the albedo in dragonspine confirms that fake albedo doesn't want to destroy mondstat but only enjoy their accompany.

Thank you, i also think it's weird for joserf to remember the foxes if he's fake, but his appearance in this quest is too suspicious. It's different if he got frozen or something like Diona's predecessor that we found in Xiangling's quest, so i do think he died and got revived, although i do think Subject Two had a hand of reviving him instead of happening coincidentally.
Also, there is a possibility that Subject Two overheard our story telling contest with Paimon, and decided to joke about it if it really is him that we met in Mondstat. It was as if he wanted to tell Traveler that differentiating him and Real Albedo by his neck mark is no longer reliable.

A mystery is HOW Durin's blood made its way to Joserf since his location of his apparent demise is nowhere near Durin's heart. Furthermore, during the cutscene where Subject 2 looks down on Albedo, it only shows Albedo (Subject 1) unsheathing his sword to deal with him. It doesn't show what happened exactly to either of them and with this in mind, taking into account how Albedo (sub1) explained to Traveller that his "birthmark" is a valuable symbol to him, its unlikely that he would use it to prank us for the fun of it, even if it was to deceive his 'brother'.
Plus, that Albedo at the end had a smile on his face that didn't sit right with him. Even when sub1 smiled, anyone can tell it was a genuine. honest smile like his time with Eula and the gang at the camp. The smile at the end of the event felt more like a "my plan was a success and they all bought it" type, along with his birthmark being exposed jokingly, its possible that this Albedo is sub2.
Naturally, I could be wrong about everything but this is just my honest opinion. CWBT has presented the facts with great analytical expertise as always and I'm looking forward to the future ending of this story

He said "I dont think being a gardener is so bad"
Since gardener can distinguish the good rose from bad rose, their duty is to eliminate the bad ones. (He referred traveler as gardener since traveler can distinguish them)
This could be the real albedo implying that he would eliminate other fake albedo (he killed subject 3). He also draw the sword in the cut scene which might point out he's heading toward subject 2.

i agree with everything except joserf's "resurrection"
the most distinct difference of the two albedos is their contradicting philosophies about life, subject 1 thinks that having control over life and destiny is arrogance, and puts high respect on life itself, while subject 2 genuinely thinks playing god; or in his words, the "gardener" is not such a bad idea, that's why i think that joserf was not the real joserf but an entirely new creation by subject 2 which i'll ingeniously call subject 4...
if this is the case, i'm pretty sure it's not made of a mutated whopperflower but a different "material" or "creature" since subject2 albedo is regarded as intelligent and capable of adapting and improving his skills
this is quite a stretch, but to explain how he have remnant familiar feelings and memories of the real joserf, maybe fake joserf is made with the animals who ate his corpse i dunno if alchemy can work this way but who knows

My thoughts on the albedo in Mondstadt at the end were he's making the mark disappear and appear again right in front of the traveller on purpose with a smug face to show that the way the traveller used to differentiate between the two isn't gonna work again, kinda mocking the traveller in a way like "seriously, that's the only way you can differentiate us?" and after learning that the mark doesn't mean an imperfection, he learns from his mistake and ensures that he will succeed the next time

I strongly believe that the "Albedo" we met in Mond at the end of the story is Subject 2. Real Albedo cannot possibly eliminate the birthmark just as he wishes since it wasn't him who put it on himself and even called it his "flaw/imperfection".
Subject 2 then realized that the birthmark is a vital part of being "Albedo" and flaunted that he can actually copy it to simply mock the traveller, "Now you can't tell who's who *smirk".

Yeah, I would think that it should be Susbedo who cares about the mark, not our Albedo, because Susbedo is salty that he is imperfect. Our Albedo just explained it to us without too much of emotional attachment. And the part in Mondstadt where he said having more in his heart makes things like the birthmark trivial (i.e. Having so many people in his life that he need not care about his status as an artificial human) is rather genuine and warm, unlike the cold smugness of the Susbedo we saw in Act 1.
But the whole quest really had me on edge and having some trust issue, so kudos to the writers.

There's one thing about this theory thats holding it back from being a 99.9% solid based on Albedo story.
The story Albedo tells us about how and there mite be more than just Albedo and "Subject Two" and how a "Subject" find Joseph body, ate him, instead of him being revived by Durin blood and took on his form and what memories that the "real" Joseph held on to before dieing.
Albedo sword descriptions saids as much theres more failed subjects, that, and the fact that very sword is like poison to them. The sword could be from Redd and this is what she wishes from Albedo to save his brothers as in the description. Not kill them but help give them a purpose so that they too can also experience the joy of life.
I very much agree that the last time we see Albedo is not our Albedo but "Subject Two" and maybe the real Albedo worked out a deal with "Subject Two" so he can enjoy living as him without one of them dieing.

This is me guessing but i think Joel's father IS the subject two and the real albeldo knows that. And the real albeldo wants the subject two to appreciate the feeling of brought into this world. Since he believe that subject two can be happy as Joel's father and Joel can be happy too (i still think the real joel's father is dead) he decided to cover up the story of the star shaped mark and tricked as into thinking that is all just a prank (since we know the full story) and eliminate our suspicion on the Joel's father.( Just a guess)

The first time I met 'Subject Two' at the entrance to the Thief's cave, I already have suspicion about him when Paimon talks about using the Silver Ore as paint. He make a slighly surprised reaction and seems to deflect the subject by giving us explanation.
Edit: Also, I didn't realize he has no neck mark on him.

if you try to go back on the very first moment we met Albedo, you can see he has now mark in his neck implying that the very first Albedo we met was the fake Albedo.

My theory is that Albedo did met up with Subject 2 but he didnt kill him, Albedo said: "If i were you, i would kill the Traveller and then me" something like that(i dont recall ;w;) which maybe means that Albedo understands Subject 2 emotions and ideals as cuz they were both made by the same person with one goal to their existance so he may decided to spare Subject 2 or maybe never intended to harm in the first place(the one sence where he's looking for Subject 2 with his sword maybe just Albedo in self-defense). As such, Subject 2 did the same as not attacking Albedo aswell. They may have talked things thru and ofc made up. After that "Albedo" asked us to meet up with him after to tell some stories, tho it may be just me thinking stuff but i think that the "Albedo" that told us the story of his birth is actually Subject 2, Subject 2 and Albedo maybe are extremely similar in every way but ofc there're still points where you can still tell them apart. Subject 2's way of talking seems cold and low-key aggressive(sorry i dont know many words so im just using words that i know, they may sound very plain and boring tho ;w;) while our Albedo sounds more epressive, easy-tempered and sometimes jokes a little aswell. So its obvious that the Albedo that we met at Dragonspine was indeed Subject 2, he drew the star symbol on his own neck to deceive Traveller into thinking that he *is* Albedo tho ofc not for ill-intention, he told his story as similar as Albedo's cuz he, Subject 2 himself was also made by Gold in which he was suppose to become a pure Alchemist and a synthetic human aswell, but ofc he resulted as a failed experiment, got discarded and eaten by Durin later to get resurrected from Durin's blood. After what he's been thru, its normal for him to not take his birth story lightly, unlike a certain Albedo that we've met in Mondstadt, who seems rather comfortable to low-key joke about his birth story, does seem like our normal Chief Alchemist dont you think? Also he even tried to prank us by erasing his star mark in a short period, we also have a short flashback of the first time we saw Albedo here and thought that he was in a bad mood, its quite obvious that that was Subject 2 and our Albedo was in Dragonspine the whole time back then, quite irony as the Albedo we talked to at Dragonspine after the event was Subject 2 and the one we met in Mondstadt later was the real one. Also the irony continues as Subject erased his birth mark but then drew one on his neck when we met up with him, the same as Albedo who has the birth mark erased it when in Mondstadt. I headcanon think that Albedo came up with a small prank to trick us and somehow manage to drag Subject 2 into it aswell, in the end we thought that we were only prank by Albedo with the "erase the birth mark" prank but in reality we were prank from the beginning thinking that the man who told his story was our Albedo, seems like we're not gonna be finding out soon(tho we almost did once when Albedo was joking about his mark)

dodoking quest destroys some of this theory stating that Albedo has a playful side . so for him making bad jokes that is his playful. players can garnered lotus heads for the alchemy table to streaming essential oil and desiccant potion.

I wonder if this will hint at a in game character actually dying *coughcoughchilde* and the traveler eventually knows that durin’s blood can resurrect people and will take them there…interesting.

Honestly, I didn't notice the mark until the story pointed it out, but I was able to tell the "Albedo" met before rescuing Bennet was off, specially in the way they talked.
I have to admit that the fact that the game forces you to have certain opinions (even smaller ones) does irk me a little

Calling it now, 3.4 will bring another Dragonspine event (or perhaps Act II of Albedo's story quest?) because the previous events were in 1.2 and 2.3
