I have some exciting news to share about an upcoming playable character in Genshin Impact version 5.0. According to the developers at Hoyoverse, the new character's name is Mualani, and she will be a 5-star Hydro Catalyst user who functions as a main DPS.
Now, I know what you're thinking - a regular tribal girl who might even rival the Hydro Sovereign in damage output? It does sound a bit hard to believe. However, I want to emphasize that we're discussing in-game combat performance here, not lore-based strength. Hoyoverse has the power to make any character extremely powerful if they so choose, likely to drive more sales.
Let's dive into Mualani's kit details:
Elemental Skill & Burst: Her elemental skill lasts for 6 seconds with only a 4 second cooldown. During this time, she can walk on water much like Furina, but with even faster movement speed, surpassing even Yelan's skill. The skill also enhances her normal attacks. Her signature "Shark Surfing" ability consumes a special resource called the Night Spirit, which is consumed more quickly when she's not in the Natlan region.
Mualani can stack up to 3 unique buffs through her attacks, with the multipliers scaling off her HP - indicating she may scale similarly to Neuvillette. Her normal attacks start with a 20% base multiplier, gaining an additional 20% per hit, and can reach an extra 60% when fully stacked. Once maxed out, her next attack will clear the stacks and fire 5 homing projectiles. These projectiles grant her damage reduction if they hit 3 or more enemies.
After using her elemental skill, Mualani will generate sourcewater droplets on enemy hits, which extend the skill's duration and restore her HP, much like Neuvillette.
Constellations: At C1, her homing projectiles gain an additional 100% HP multiplier when fully stacked. C2 allows her to generate those useful sourcewater droplets even when striking enemies under her Night Spirit state. Higher constellations further enhance her normal attack damage, elemental burst, and grant full HP scaling on all her normal attacks.
Signature Weapon: Mualani's 5-star Catalyst weapon provides a 20% HP bonus and a 48% normal attack damage increase. The main stat is likely crit rate or crit damage.
Overall, Mualani seems poised to be an extremely potent Hydro main DPS, potentially rivaling or even exceeding the current top options. Of course, we'll have to wait for her closed beta testing to get the full details and numbers. I'll be sure to provide updates as more information becomes available.
