How The Archons Hide Their Secrets? [Genshin Impact Lore and Theory]

Nahida’s story quest part 2 opens a lot of mysterious tales about the world beyond and the world before the reign of Celestia, and today, let’s shift our focus to the central pieces of the board and ask the question: what do the Archons really know about Celestia?
Because as shallow as this question seems, each of the archons have their own way of coping through their silence, or sometimes, lack thereof. So, I want to investigate further into all of the four; what have they said so far about Celestia? How willing are they to open up? And how much do they know about its inner workings?

Is it weird that I trust Venti the most out of all of the archons? Aside from Nahida, who only knows the factual history of the cataclysm through Irminsul, Venti has been indirectly informing us about Teyvat’s history through song and story. The events listed in the gnostic hymn that he clearly narrates, for example, has been slowly unveiled to us in the story and very clearly in the Caribert Quest. Yes, he acts very sus, but like Nahida, he knows that the best way to preserve and talk about the ACTUAL history of Teyvat is through music and fictional stories/myths. I truly believe that he wants to tell us everything, but feels he has to mask how he tells us because of the fear of Celestia that he shares with Zhongli and Ei.
I don't trust him at all because books/legends and etc not always telling the truth. Yes, he cares about humans a lot but something off about him
He and zhongli is clearly celestia lap dogs, cant wait for abyss princess lumine to execute them for being a traitor for humanity
@@whitecat3448 Stories, songs, riddles, and those are the only way for a God to tell us about something historically significant without it being susceptible for Irminsul deletion.
I think that the fact that he usually tell us stuff in that form is his own kind of honesty. He’s telling us directly what we asked, but in a way in which whatever higher power who might be listening doesn’t find out.
For me it's the opposite 😭 he's too sus for me and I feel like the only one we can trust is nahida
@@fernandosiahaan906 venti does NOT like celestia at all what 😭😭 bro speaks vehemently against it in his voice line. Zhongli legally cant talk ant it or else he/liyue prob dies. Only archon who is stated as one who would never go against celestia is the hydro archon in the trailer
Nahida who knows nothing: what if I destroyed this gnosis and awoke the heavenly principles?
Dottore who clearly has insider knowledge: oh she insane fr
This comment made me laugh out loud lol. Maybe it’s the idea of DOTTORE calling someone insane.
The fact the Venti is still not sleeping after the Dvalin incident means there will be something in the future.
He woke up just in time when the traveler started their journey
Thisss
Honestly? I think we can trust all the archons we've met so far except Venti.
Zhongli has no issue announcing himself to us whenever he has something to hide. Lying is quite literally anathema to him.
Ei is less a schemer and more of a... blunt object, so there's really no reason to suspect her of duplicity.
Nahida is a brand new baby god that just got out of her cage and literally has no secrets to hold.
Venit though? Deception comes naturally to him. He might not hold any ill intentions towards the traveler but he's not above manipulating us and others to achieve his personal goals.
oh nahida has many secrets we dont know yet...
What if Zhongli was contracted not to tell anyone?
Ei yes but makoto though. maybe that is why she off herself.
obviously the tsaritsa knows, that is why the twin and schneznaya has the same goal but a different way to do it.
Do you Venti in game?
I’m the opposite. I trust Venti more than the other Archons. Nahida informs us about what she knows out of ignorance of Celestia’s true power. Ei is clearly motivated by fear to not tell us everything she knows. Zhongli uses his contract as the reason why he can’t speak while leaving the obvious “why did he make that contract?” question unanswered. Venti is motivated by fear, but I think he tries to tell us about what he knows through song and story. I think he dodges the direct questions because he fears the wrath of Celestia. His narration during the Gnostic Hymn cutscene almost matches the story of what may have happened to the Abyss Sibling based on what we’ve seen from the Caribert quest specifically.
@@callmegeniusok true but she does know she has those secrets
My pet theory has been that Chapter 7 will be "Mondstadt". Either Celestia or Abyss/Kh'anhria or both will "open up" there and Venti will be pivotal in setting up the finale. It matches his flare for the dramatic too.
I really hope the 7th or the last chapter will be about Mondstadt, i also hope for them to hold any Mond expansion until then tbh.
I've been saying that for quite a while as well, specially considering that in the Travail Trailer Khaenri'ah is labeled Chapter [White noise] despite being shown after Snezhnaya. The refusal to give it a clear label tells me that something will happen between Snezhnaya and Khaenri'ah, and since Venti sus, a whole non-prologue chapter dedicated to Mondstadt makes sense.
😊000000900
@@Darkedor (SPOILERS for all 3 dain quests, and last sumeru archon quest)
oh shoot oh yeah, tho im not thinking the same answer DANG there might actually be something happening between Snezhnaya and Khaenri'ah because that would be the "end" of the travellers journey, and in nahida's words something happened at the end of the abyss twins journey and their path was changed
The fact that they use "???" makes me believe.. well mondstadt is introduction and it is first in chronological order and Liyue is chapter 1 and is second in chronological order and so on and so forth, meaning the numbers state a chronological order. So maybe they added "???" because we might be taken to the past but we are still in the present which is why it doesnt have a number? because it is neither next nor behind in the chronological order. Cause we keep seeing memories through the twins eyes and they keep getting stronger, first with a glace at the abyss twin from an out of body perspective for 1 second in mondstadt and then a whole conversation in liyue with jaded colors and static-like and now a whole day in sumeru from the twins perspective so maybe at snezhnaya the vision get so strong they just get sent back into the past memories for a whole nations worth.
so my brother say that in khaenriah they whould be just like pyro archon problem where one of them want to figth celestia the other to peace and then we go to figth our sibling then dain and then the unknown god if thats whats happening, here is my theory if the timeline were corupted either do what his sibling is doing repeat the cycle like living in khaenriah over and over or do what scaramouce is doing like rewrite the story that way no one knows who traveler is the timeline has been fix they remember the traveler but they don't remember their name and travel arive migth be in monstatd and our main character lost who they are and our outfit probably change
Everyone in the archon party making fun of Venti for not having a story quest 2
Venti: They don’t know.. my act 2 has the secrets of Teyvat ☕️
omg hebi? didnt expect to see you here
Potential third weekly boss for Mondstadt maybe?
And considering every Archon's 2nd story quest involves a weekly boss, it would mean that Mondstadt would be the only region (so far) to have 3 weekly bosses.
@@ehmusibotuncleraymondsiol6464 I think so, Andrius is different from the other weekly bosses. Not in a domain, his icon in the map is just like the other world bosses.
W. i need more venti content im desperate
Speaking of Venti, if you guys remember the Irodori festival, he and Yae Miko had a conversation that we never knew about as they just changed the topic easily.
Not even an interaction with Ei.
If you ask me, venti is the most suspicious between the archons
Hoyoverse has some inspirations from Three Body Problem, which makes sense as it's the most famous CN sci fi novel. In Three Body there's a concept called the Shooter and the Farmer, basically imagine ourselves as turkeys living in a farm, everyday you observe at 11am a hole will open in the sky and food drops down and everyone gets fed.
After observing for a long time you've collected enough data and declare as a scientist to your fellow turkeys that this hole where food drops down at 11am is a law of the universe, some kind of Heavenly Principle. But one day the law failed, the hole didn't open, instead a giant door opened and a humanoid being started grabbing turkeys away, turns out turkeys know nothing, their "science" has never been real. Outside of their world, the barn, are beings called humans who are celebrating something called Thanksgiving today.
Teyvat is basically a farm, everyone living in it will never know the truth, we as players will also never know the truth until we are allowed to see outside the farm. Everyone is only acting based on their beliefs, even if their beliefs are based on "science" and "logic". Even Nahida with her access to Irminsul knows nothing beyond Teyvat, the Heavenly Principles and everything else are beyond her.
Sounds a lot like Bertrand Russell's bit from "Problems of Philosophy".
Man, I'm gonna read that book now. Thanks!
@@huismands Hope you have a good read, the series is a trilogy starting with Three Body Problem > Dark Forest > Death's End
@@GuyWithAnAmazingHat Thank you!!
Tomorrow is thanksgiving as I'm reading this lol
My personal thoughts on each archon are as follows:
Ei: a strong ally and a surprise tool that will help us later in the story. Probably around when big stuff happens on a world scale.
Zhongli: he is merely an observer now. He knows everything because of experience, but because of his NDA, he can’t say anything. And so he will resign to simply watching, and presumably silently rooting for the Tsaritza.
Nahida: she knows plenty and has revealed plenty too, however, she is too weak to be a big end game player in the plot.
Venti: also knows everything, and maybe even more, and is clearly biding his time until the big change happens in Teyvat. Definitely end game important.
Focalors: probably will try to stay neutral in the coming divine conflict. Unless I am completely wrong, in which case, that’ll be interesting.
But in my opinion, I think all the archons will have something big to do in the finale of the Teyvat Chapter.
I would absolutely love a fight with the heavenly principles vs the 7 archons i’d be a so badass
I wonder if in the future Nahida will somehow grow in power and retain a form similar to rukkhadevata, and therefore be more useful in endgame?
@@razzledazzledorito6552 future banner
Venti definitely knows something big is coming, and he is waiting for it. Historically, when Mondstadt is at peace, Barbatos goes into a deep slumber to preserve and protect himself from erosion, only waking up when something big and bad is happening in Mondstadt, like the Lawrence Aristocracy. So why is he awake now? He knows something's up and he's waiting to protect his people.
At this point Nahida is used as a plot bot (which is okay, since they are executing it well)
Zhongli is an observer currently
Venti is that one guy who just watches the scene, but will step up if something big happens. There is a reason why he choose to be awake now, from his long slumber
Ei and Murata will be the big guns later in the story.
Focalors is the intermidiary, she may side with Celestia for now, but will fight against them after a realization
Tsaritsa is the final boss before the final final boss.
At the end of the mondstadt archon quest venti gives a LOT of information about visions, explicitly saying he shouldn't be telling the traveller this (calling vision holders allogenes) and the fact that this hasn't been brought up directly since then is very interesting to me. I believe that venti and zhongli both agreed to the same contract with celestia/the heavenly principles/whatever made the contract, but only venti is willing to break it, since preventing him from speaking about what he wants contradicts with his philosophy of freedom. I think he is worried about whatever his repercussions will be, or what the repercussions will be to anyone he divulges information to, which is why he is so fickle and avoidant, but I think if it came down to it and he thought it was the right time he would definitely reveal Big Things to the traveller. it just hasn't been the right time yet, maybe the traveller doesn't know enough for venti to feel like they're ready for what he needs to tell them? or maybe he's very guilty about what happened at khanriah like zhongli seems to be.
Yeah, about Zhongli and Venti, there's a small spoiler in the 3.6 World Quest that suggests something about the "methods of compiling and recording memories" in Teyvat (spoiler alert)
A line of Zurvan, the First Pari: "In a world where things are being forgotten every hour of every day, what we engrave on the ground is far more reliable than what we sing to the wind"; maybe something about not trusting much on Venti and relying better on Zhongli?
Or maybe believe physical evidence (engraving on the ground) more than hearsay or words from others (song in the winds)
wait that actually makes some sense
Venti if you mention something important: "Ehe". Strange that we haven't asked him about events 500 years ago
that's hella suspicious
After reading ei voice line about vision she clearly states she is constrained about talking about them & Nahida is also a little sus cuz she gives us a riddle about visions & asks us to figure it ourselves which sort of implies she's hiding or maybe she doesn't know that much, that being said, she's much more reliable than the other archons for sure.
It is possible she is hiding things, but it's also possible she isn't sure enough yet (the riddle is hers as well as ours).
if she doesn't know much, how does she give us riddles?
Most of us already know about Venti's "Hello" voice line ("Then allow me to join on your quest ONCE AGAIN") but an interesting thing is that he mentions almost the same thing at the end of Mondstadt's Archon quest: "Traveler, as you sat off on your journey ONCE AGAIN, you must remember that the journey itself has a meaning".
Probably this proves that this is not our first journey and the other archons may be aware of this as well.
correction, bunch of other stuff arent stopped by the menu. Something I can remember on the top of my head are seelies (both on and off their pedestals), some lights of domains and the flow of water
Does Paimon have connections to Focalors too then? The Hydro Hypo's rolling attack also still moves when the game is paused.
@@pozzsicle I personally believe that whatever happen in the Paimon menu isn’t actually tied to the lore whatsoever and is just sort of the pause button of Genshin, so to me at least it doesn’t really matter
@@farahest agreed her time stop menu doesn't work in domains
@@farahest Thank you for the correction! I'll edit the comment to avoid confusion.
Venti's second story quest is going be a huge deal, I suspect. Great video again, Aster!
if we have dvalin as mondstadt's weekly boss and NOT as venti's story quest weekly boss, then what if venti is the weekly boss in the act 2 of the story quest?
I think Zhongli is more tight lipped than other archons due to personally and prior role as the god of contracts. Even in simple conversation, he adheres to sense of hierarchy and authority. For example, back at the last lantern rite, he was quite strict in adhering to Hu Tao as director and his superior. I don't think he did this to hide his (former) entity. I think he did this because he sees her in a role of authority over him. If we extend this to Celestia, I think he will honor his contracts with them and in general as a higher authority - even if he doesn't agree with some of their actions.
In one of his voiceovers he says this: as for whether your own heart shines like gold let me wait and see. Also his gemstone' description: "if you betray this trust, you taint my blood". What about Hu Tao, he view himself like a mortal and plays this role very well, don't need to look too much in this
But wasn't he just being polite? Cause in the latern rite, when Xiao tried to call him by his appropriate title Zhongli told him to just call him "Zhongli" completely disregarding any type of seniority and being lax enough to joke about it with Xiao
but zhongli is still the god of contracts?? he was long before the gnosis even existed it has nothing to do with it
@@crazygirls9000 but he renounced his godhood and is living as a mortal man.
Just like guoba lost his and is now just a cooking companion
@@cosmefulanito5052 he renounced his archonhood which is the job of being an agent of celestia and he's now playing the role of being human and making some facetious comments but he can't exactly change his species??? It's very clearly completely symbolic
Also Nahida is not under "contract" with Celestia... They might not know she exists due to their lack of involvement after the Cataclysm with the world. Nadiha was born to sustain a need for the world of Teyvat but wasn't promoted to an "Archon" by Celestia. The other Archons are testing how far they can push now that Celestia is quiet for 500 years and they meet someone that won't be affected by the laws of this world. Nahida on the other hand has no personal fear of questioning everything.
Pretty sure Celestia knows and even indirectly acknowleged Nahida bc she had the Dendro Gnosis. It's literally their connection to Celestia. There is no need for Nahida to be reborn as an Archon since the Teyvat existed just fine before Archons were even a thing. It's Celestia that wants there to be seven Archons.
but she has a gnosis ? so technically THAT FLOATING CHUNK gods does know abt her
@@MercyfallsWith the new information from 4.2, we ca suspect Celestia gave out gnoses so that it would not have to touch them with a 10-foot pole. They are much more than just cell phones to call Celestia. And probably not useful as cell phones at all.
Venti is the most suspicious of the current revealed archons. Like the video states, Nahida has the knowledge but lack of experience to deal with Celestia. Ei really doesn’t know anything useful besides what could be in Enkanomiya, since Makoto would be the one with the knowledge of Celestia. Zhongli at least is honest in that he is binder by a Contract.
The one that I have no idea over his stance on Celestia is Venti. He always looks afraid or concern over anything relating to Celestia, which is concerning considering the amount of times he has gone to Liyue to bother Zhongli… while he was still ruling over it. Yes he help Xiao, but still I would not go annoying someone that had a reputation of being ruthless… so what could scare Venti, who is an Archon related to the being of time to the point of deflecting the topic of Celestia?
Maybe something that can kill time.
i think quite the opposite, venti clearly fears celestia more than likely because of ''heavenly principles'' which take away freedom from the world quite literally, NO ONE and NOTHING must go against them, may it be good willed or otherwise, and that probably why, the god of wind and freedom is scared of them, because he knows what powerfull beings are willing to do to keep that power
@@darkcust4478 didn’t think about it in that perspective. Though it could very well be a possibility.🤔
Venti bro has been watching everything going on in Teyvat even before he took the human form, always travelling in air, going everywhere
Even though venti is clearly hiding his true knowledge, I think it's for the traveler (and anyone else who asks about celestias) own good.
In fact, I think all the archons, except nahida, are hiding info about celestia for the travelers own good. I think we are underestimating celestia's power.
Also what is up with that one manga panel? the one where Vanessa asks about celestia, venti's thinks about this, cult-like army with a red sky...maybe he has more trama than we think.
But why? Why would it be for our own good? even if you say Celestia would be angry, Celestia is asleep for 500 years now surely he can at least tell us WHY He and the other archons can't say anything about the matter
@Harry ShadeI'm not asking him what he can't tell us, rather why he CAN'T tell us? like whatever it is let him keep it to himself, just why they all are hush hush about it all?
Fyi celestia being asleep for 500 years is part of nahida's bluff to trick dottore. So that's not confirmed yet.
So they're hiding something cuz afraid of celestia is still possible
@@mitab1 There’s no confirmation that Celestia is dormant, that’s simply what Nahida said as her bluff to Dottore and that was specifically the Heavenly Principles,
Celestia as an organization could still be watching and just hasn’t made any overt signs in the past couple centuries
@@mitab1 I'm pretty sure Celestia hasn't been asleep for 500 hundred years ,instead they have been quietly observing. I believe this since Nahida has a gnosis, which is a connection to Celestia, so Celestia have acknowledged Nahida so there aren't dormant.
Zhongli is the most dangerous archon in Celestia’s eyes because he has been writing down history in stone, as it cannot be altered by the Irminsul. So it would be in Celestia’s best interest to keep him quiet. He knows the truth of the world and the “secrets forgotten”. He has alluded to having met the Traveler before.
You can literally say the same thing for Venti and the Hexenzirkel
They both use stories to write down history or events that has been altered by Irminsul
So does venti 😭 bro makes new songs and ballads everyday do you know realize how much he wrote since the day he became an archon and what he witnessed so far?
even stones erode, he said this himself
Venti however knows every song from past and future and as Nahida told us if information is hidden in clever ways, Irminsul can’t erase it, so that means Venti has complete unfiltered knowledge of Teyvat from past to future
and Venti is a part of Istaroth who is a shade, so if Celestia had anyone to be wary of it would be Venti
Venti second story quest comes out: the entire lore and theory community lose their minds and can’t sleep
When it comes out watch hum troll us about it being a wine stealing job.
🌸🌹I am one not to extend trust causally, thus I but utter, one can trust neither Archon unconditionally🌹🌸
I always get the feeling that Venti is the one who knows the most about celestia.
Just a little thing I wish to add about Nahida’s willingness to share information. I belief that if she receives information that she finds suspicious, she might want to investigate it first before saying anything to us in fear of some misinformation being told to us. Belief in misinformation was an issue with Sumeru before, especially when concerning Knowledge Capsules, like Dori tells us in Cyno’s Story Quest, misinformation in Knowledge Capsules are accepted with no hesitation. And we do see Nahida hold back some information from us, Dottore talked to her about the False Sky (and with Nahida immediately telling us about Descenders seems to suggest that there is a connection between the two), Nahida doesn’t tell us about the False Sky at all. Would it be because it’s knowledge is heavily questionable, or because we just simply haven’t asked information about it? (For the latter point, if Descenders do relate to the False Sky, then wouldn’t that have been mentioned as well?)
Only little Buer can be trusted. Morax keeps secrets, venti ks scheming and Ei is clueless regarding outside world (Miko is scheming). Nahida takes every step possible to help us.
I don't trust her because she spies on the Traveler through her dream powers.
@@Nakaska that's the reason why fbi is trusted by the government.
oh hell nah, I can't help but distrust her since she spoke with the doctor and gave away the gnoses. I feel like she's been actively avoiding mention of information the doctor gave her so that the traveller doesn't even think to ask about it. I feel like this lines up with the idea that all the Archons that existed prior to the cataclysm are on the Tsaritsas side. In the case of Ei, it was Yae who was actually in charge and she's sus herself, and nahida wasn't originally on the tsaritsas side until the doctor told her whatever it is he did.
Well, Morax have his own reasons for it + his gemstone' description is very interesting. He trust traveler but not enough to reveal his secrets.
@@hypercube9531 she can't be trusted because she traded wisdom with the doctor for her gnosis? then zhongli can't be trusted either because he traded his gnosis for the terms written in the contract between him and tsaritsa. she was the only one who searched irminsul for us for the information regarding our sibling. also, she did shared information she gained from the doctor, which was their knowledge about the decenders.
10:00 also don't forget that the chapter trailer video from WAY back leads us to believe that what ever the pyro archon tells us is so huge we match INSTANTLY into the next destination
I mean the traveler is also never fully open about themselves, being from another world and such. Everyone seems to be lying, and possibly for a good reason
I'm waiting for the day Venti just decides to pour the whole tea pot in our laps
*Venti's story quest part 2 comes out*
The lore: *blows up*
After lantern rite this year, I honestly believe that Zhongli is trying his hardest to push the traveler towards some of the answers but can't say anything himself due to some contract. He accompanies us on journeys and tells other peoples tales in hopes that we will read between the lines and see what he is trying to say.
He has told us about the horrors of the Archon War via Havria (and that history can be changed), the danger of erosion via Azdaha and with lantern rite, started to clue us into the tale of Guizhong.
Interestingly enough, he hinted that there are more sides to that story and that the researcher who was suspicious almost of how Guizhong was able to be killed was mentioned as the closest to the actual truth. I really think he wants us to know more about this but can't say himself due to some contract surrounding her death.
Venti is the only character in the game talked about the allogenes, which is Genshin in Japanese. He even said this is a secret that only archons are privy to. I wonder why he talked about this secret while avoiding other questions for Celestia and Khaenri'ah.
Venti gives hints and clues about endgame lore
Oh no......The five aranara, that goes by the name 'Aster', has changed their profile picture! They're evolving!
Has anybody else noticed that so far, every archon is connected to the original seven? Venti and zhongli are part of the original seven, ei ruled next to one of the original seven and was with her at their tea parties or whatever they did together, and nahida thinks she's just one of the original seven but powered down and lost her memories (which was a theory before 3.2 that fell apart when you thought of the timeline)
And if the theory that focalors killed the original hydro archon is true, that also leads to the thought aswell, with her maybe being a god that was angry at her loss and killed out of revenge and took on the ideals of justice
@@Joshioli88 but it isn't? Didn't thr 3.6 world quest say the previous Hydro Archon sacrificed herself?
It's more like for each of the archons that were said to be not of the original seven, the story ends up saying they actually were part of the original seven, but that the confusion is that they had a dopelganger that was the original archon and then some timey-wimey stuff happened and that turned out so that actually, they were the original archon all along.
@@Joshioli88 after the world quest, this theory was shattered. And now it is not relevant.
It's possible that Focalor is somehow related to the previous hydro archon, but she definitely didn't kill her.
Forbidden knowledge alert
focalors have 2 separate personalities
One is gone
And other is ruling the world
Maybe when Venti's SQ 2 comes out, he himself will be the new weekly boss. Idk, I'm just hoping for some sort of corruption arc. 😂
Something I noticed, primarily with the first Zhongli story quest, but also with how the other archons interact with their nations, the trait that a god embodies (contracts, freedom, etc) is also what binds them. Venti can never truly be the god of his nation, he is restricted from directly intervening on anything short of a threat to the nation whole, as it is a land free from rule and to do so would impose himself onto his people. Zhongli must uphold a contract, never able to break it; not even out of kindness or to aid a friend. Ei will never understand her people, always striving for eternity leaves her blind to the passage of time, and ignorant to the importance of time to those with so little. I haven’t had time to really study Nahida yet, but I bet this theme will hold true for her, too.
I mean metaphorical wisdom (The Akademiya) literally locked her in a cage for centuries. Feels fitting to me, but may not be super accurate because I haven’t started the Sumeru Archon Quest yet.
With nahida being a child locked in a cage for centuries. I’d say the irony of being the “new” god of wisdom. She basically has no experiences to be considered wise although she is intelligent
Recently I've seen people discussing the plausibility of Khaenriahns being Vishap people. As a means of explaining their particular bloodline and eyes. As a highly adaptable race I can see the potential. First the Vishaps adapted to become like humans and then later to become more like the abyss aka the heralds and such. Perhaps there's only partial truth to it but Khaenriah being an underground kingdom seems fitting. There's also a real life Norse story, pardon I cannot recall the name, about dwarves. In particular the same name as the Dragon king and Alberich are present in this story also including a cursed sword named, Dainsleif.
This could go a long way towards explaining why the Khanriahns got different treatment by Celestia especially knowing that they also fought against the abyss. Knowing the corruptive nature of the Abyss and Vishap adaptation its quite possible the Abyss Order is merely a strain of those infected with Forbidden Knowledge and even they may not truly be entirely responsible for their actions. At least not any more then Dvalin was under the influence of abyssal corruption.
Honestly, I love the lore of genshin, but I'm not sure if I'll be able to wait 3 or 4 years more to find out what happened in Kanriah or if we even go to Celestia. I've been playing this since 1.2, and it's honestly been fun. I made some friends and learned that I'm an emotional person lol(almost every archon quest made me cry). But I've now reached a point where I'm honestly ready to move on from the game. I'm still willing to play the game for some time, but I can easily see myself playing another game already. I always thought that I'd be able to play this game up until Kanrieah came out, but it's now starting to become harder to even see myself playing this game in the far future.
the last time i was this early we still had 120 resin
This was actually a really nice video to listen to. Despite new content coming out, I honestly have a horrid memory, so going back through some of these things helps a ton. I completely forgot that Ei was separated from the gnosis OTL
There's theories going around that the end of our quest is in Mondstat, so with Venti not having a second part of his story, it would make sense. It makes me wonder, though, why Mond? What is it about that location that might have so much focus? Thinking back, maybe it has something to do with past actions of Venti. After all, he might have been the first Archon to give his people freedom and to nearly take himself out of the picture. He doesn't seem to interact with his people like the other Archons do, so it makes me think he's "shirking his duties." Maybe he's afraid of Celestia's punishment, thus he hides his true powers. Maybe that's why he slept for so long. We don't know much about Celestia, so what if he's hidden himself from them all along and is waiting for just the right moment to step in?
I have a feeling that venti also wants the fall of celestia as it is opposing to his ideals and releasing him from the fear celestia but thats a personal theory
I'd trust Ei considering she kept fighting for like 500 years in the realm and seems to actually be trying to better herself (even if she still refuses to tell us about some stuff especially pertaining to celestia tho that seems common amongst the gods). Zonghli is only an issue because he can have some random contract he cant talk about and Venti probably hasn't said a single true thing ever. Idk about kusanali since I havent finished sumero yet.
We never asked Venti about any meaningful thing
It feels like Nahida has developed a very special relationship with the traveler causing her to open up, heck she shared the Traveler's body twice; at one point Nahida stated that as a reward that she would answer any and all questions. -- I doubt she would be nearly as open with information to anyone else.
The other Archons met have a good relationship with the traveler, But it's clear that the archons are Not all-knowing despite being gods, and it seems like maybe they who aren't the original 7 actually just don't know much at all, esp. about Kh'Aenria or Celestia, etc, at all. Morax/Zhongli is the only one we know for sure knows at least one thing that they are specifically hiding by contract.
Venti may be hiding something or not.... Remember how even Nahida can't remember that which was deleted from Irminsul? Possibly as a result of Khaenri'ah; the purged removed some knowledge from even the other archons. If Celestia needed to ensure some secrets were kept, then the most secure approach may have been to remove record of the information, so even the archons would not remember. The Unknown god's records could have been removed or changed within Irminsul leaving only their laws and a vague knowledge of the heavenly principles.
Venti lies yes, but he never withold important information from the traveler, if he doesn't want to speak about it yet there is a reason, the traveler is probably not ready yet, remember the wind brings the seeds and accompanies them but the seeds are ultimately cultivated by time. Venti will tell us what he knows when the time is right
Me waking up from my casket when i hear that aster has posted a video about archons
It's always a good day when Aster posts
It’s like Nahida said during her Archon quest, if you are from Teyvat then Irminsul will record it. Jhongli may well be a descender and Jhongli’s memories do not get affected by Irminsul. I’m not going to say he’s not a descender until I get more info. Anything is possible in this game.
"sinner" and "unkown god" colluding.
Even if Zhongli hides a lot of secrets and related to contracts I trust him more than dendro archon and Venti for some reason.
Anemo archon since the beginning he has been protecting the traveler and their travels
I feel like Nahida knows the consequences of giving top secret information, it's just that she doesn't care as much because if Celestia destroys her, the Irminsul will have another copy of her which again is a blank slate that "doesn't know the consequences"; so it's like she found a loop hole and is abusing it.
Rather than following their ideal the Archons are ''forced" to follow them. Not in the sense that they are threaten but rather it's like an instinct for them.
Venti even thought he's inaction cause a few problems he still stand on he's interpretation of freedom for him and he's people (He gave up is gnosis to be ''free'' from celestia)
Zhongli said mutiple times that he will never break a contract and we saw that he stand by it (He gave up the gnosis to uphold a contract)
Ei go as far as discarded her body and was willing to put her nation in a 'stasis' to uphold to the eternity she seek. Even if she now try to find another possible way that still her main focus (ok i don't have any interpetation for Ei xD)
And nahida 2nd story quest is the thing that brought this idea. Apep say
" ''The truth'' the shackles that the God of Wisdom cannot escape". Meaning that whatever the price to pay if It can learn truth the God of Wisdom will pay it. And we saw it in the actual archon quest. (she gave the gnosis in exchange for truth and knowledge)
No matter the price, as absurd as it seem the Archons are willing to pay to uphold to their Ideal almost like....an obscession
@Harry Shade I didn't say it was strange, juste that Apep called nahida's obscession ''shakcles"
Can somebody tell me where has Venti supposed to have lied to us? Why does everyone always say to me that he is always lying? What are his supposed lies?
He told us a few things that doesnt make sense and he lie pretty much frequently to us. Like in the last GAA when he made some kind of plan with Alice to send us there. He pretended that it was for vacations but he obviously knew about all the Fatui stuff going on there and it was probably the reason why we went there. When we asked him he pretended to know nothing.
Venti is sus but I trust him with my life.
Zhongli is trustworthy, his reason no to tell anything is valid.
Ei is clueless, I’ll only trust her to take care of my enemies, lol.
Nahida is smart baby, but she is a baby, it felt wrong to sus her or depend on her, lol.
Clueless Waifu is best Waifu
Shes clueless but she's willing to fight for the traveller
Venti is my archon. I trust him if only because I vibe with his sussy energy.
For all four current archons released, I think Nahida is the one you can trust most. She's on the same boat as the traveler, not knowing anything that's going on and went on in the past. This cluelessness leads her to try and uncover what she doesn't know about the past and present just like the traveler. She'll be on our side until the very end and will very likely sacrifice herself for our survival and for the sake of learning a last piece of knowledge on how it feels like to die. Venti feels like he's a double agent for celestia but wants to side with us, but he can't expose his true allegiance. At the end, I think he will reveal his betrayal to celestia and will pay a fatal price for it. Zhongli feels like he's on our side and wouldn't mind being killed by celestia but has his hands tied due to a contract of non-disclosure he made that needs to be fulfilled. At the end, he will be forced to choose between breaking a contract or opposing the traveler for the sake of a contract. Either way, he will forfeit his life. Ei fears celestia and tries to not be on their radar. She even resorted to hiding her consciousness inside a sword which in turn is hidden within a supposedly indestructible puppet body. She feels like she wants to side with us but will ultimately side with celestia out of fear. At the end, we will be forced to kill her.
Anyway, knowing Mihoyo is obsessed with tragic endings, all or most archons will die. Also, Paimon will die. Definitely. And her death will break the traveler permanently. It will also break you. Imagine going through the menu and other features of the game where she's supposed to talk to you but she's no longer there. Even if you try going out of bounds, there's no longer anyone who will try to stop you and you're the only one who will decide to turn back. "Let not explore that area for now. That's what Paimon would have wanted." Also, you will try eating food made from slimes in honor of her and regret not trying it out when you had her. It will taste sweet with a bitter aftertaste, further reminding you of her absence. See you at the endgame.
Dont
Zhongli is the only Archon who didnt show hostility towards Celestia. In one of his deleted voicelines he said "Celestia,i havent been there in a long time" in a very nostalgic tone as if he misses being there
this video is honestly a banger pop off sis
Yet another thing that makes me very excited for Focalors. Especially because Celestia appears to be hovering over her nation.
I'm very curious about her personality and relationship with Celestia. And want to know more about previous hydro archon too
Venti: hehehe
Zhongli: contract
Ei: this is all I can tell you
Nahida: don't you want to ask me about it? I've hired Scaramouche to help me search Irminsul for more answers.
with Nahida, even though she didn't experience these events, it is stored in irminsul. But she is grown from a branch of irminsul, so I don't think she's as emotionally disconnected from these events as we are in reading about world wars...
It's probably more like she "plays an extremely immersive VR game" that shows her what happens
Ooo the title is super interesting
Genuinely shocked to read about all the distrust towards Venti, I trust him with my life above all other archons.
You changed your profile picture again? Girl you switching faces faster than Scara changes identities.
The problem is what will happen when celestia designated traveler as teyvat public enemies? which archon can be trusted? i still betting for nahida lol.
Expect some John wick shite where the Archons don't go after us bur snekily help us.
Tbh I won't be surprised if Celestia actually like us, considering we were doing the archons job and thy would have all the right to get red of the archons and make us the new archon of teyvat, seeing that we keep fix shit around the place, also maybe Celestia were the ones who called us to this world in the first place

I don't trust this bard at all, he's more suspicious than Zhongli
@@whitecat3448 nah zhongli clearly doesn't care about the mc, venti at least seems to trully worry about his nation and friends
@@darkcust4478 not true. He said some interesting things in the past, but half of this fandom doesn't pay attention to his words at all
@@darkcust4478 What you mean he doesn't care? He does he literally trust us to Witness this world and be a record that wo won't be so easily forgotten.
comments like "Zhongli doesn't care about MC" (Perilous trail, first and 2nd story quests proves otherwise) one of reasons why I want quest focused only on Zhongli and his past but don't think it's going to happen anytime soon lol
Whereas the first Story Quests showcase the personality and nature of the Archons, all the second acts have some connection to the Cataclysm, so it seems intentional and suspicious that Venti, who has connections with Vennessa and visits to Celestia, has not yet received one.
Azhdaha, after or during the Archon War, experienced erosion (amplified by the mining in the Chasm) that Zhongli claims is a "natural order" "imposed" by the Heavenly Principles. Ei's sister died during the Cataclysm but left her consciousness to guide her. Rukkhadevatta met the same fate but left another part of her consciousness in Nahida.
Shallow dive? You said shallow dive? This was beautifully 4th dimensional archon chess.
WELL VENTI ALWAYS FEELS DISTRESSED WHENEVER HE HEARS SMTHIGN ABT CELESTIA
I trust venti..
Sus but you can feel the comfort, you need to reach your journey end to really understand him..
Nahida tells us willingly and freely, also, she lost her memory and zhongli says something about a contract that he cannot tell us about traveller's twin or anything related so that means Nahida tells us freely and willingly probably cuz she does not remember the contract but also we don't know if Nahida was included in the contract
That profile pic made me think been Aster was going to muffle her voice for this entire vid
Quick Mini Theory on on the 3.6 world quest, more specifically, a certain name that stood out to me; “Gnade”.
I believe this is the name of Sandrone’s robot and is the main reason she is even in the Fatui harbingers in the first place.
Let me explain…
1) “Gnade” was an abandoned ruin machine that was potentially one of the strongest creations during its time, using the energy resource that the fontaine explorers wanted to utilize (forgot the name).
2) It seems to have been broken out as shown within the area where we fight Killjor and his buddy friend, most likely by the fatui.
3) Sandrone at this point has shown very little expertise in making machines, with her only potentially useful trait being the katherynes (doesn’t justify the 7th placement, though)
4) “Gnade” seems to appear more advanced than the typical ruin machine, yet Sandrone is known to not have owned the ruin factory in the Childe story quest (that was Dottore). This can imply that she didn’t make it herself, but most likely has the most control over it compared to the other harbingers.
TLDR: Gnade big funny robot butler.
Well the hydro archon knows not to make a enemy of the divine, the pyro archon for some reason, shares her secrets with the travler to eventually prepare the story for tsaritsa rebellion against it, I think it pretty much summarize every archon opinion and trustworthiness on the subject
Love Celestia and Khaenri'ah content, thank you for this delicious morsel!
the archons that i think knows the most are the Tsaritsa Zhongli and Venti. who of them knows the most i am not sure but it might actually be that venti knows more than either of them.
I love venti but the trust i have for him is Small
love thhis upload so much!!!!
I'm I the only one who realised that asters description says this is one of her channels for world domination help I'm scared now
I think we can trust them all.
Nahida seems to be doing a lot for the traveller and provided a lot of information, if that's a good idea or not in relation to Nahidas safety, we'll see.
Ei has suffered due to celestia and knows just how powerful celestia really is. She lost her sister and her closest friends causing her to take a completely different way of enforcing eternity to her sister. She clearly wants to avoid any more conflict with celestia.
Zhongli is merely leading by example and holding his ideal high. He a man of his word and even if celestial wasn't any kind of a threat, he wouldn't tell us anyway because he just doesn't come off as someone who would break his word/contract. And as mentioned, he doesn't lie to us about it, he straight up says he can't say anything.
Venti clearly suffers from PTSD to this day. Going through what he must have done through and all that he has lost too, is it really a wonder he turned to the booze. Along with his coping mechanisms of brushing any talk of celestia off with song or jokes or even just changing the conversation, he too fears the wrath of celestia and doesn't want to pass on anything that could provoke an attack from celestia
I wonder what the other archons are hiding when you really think about what will the hydro archon be hiding when we meet her
Well informative
nahida is very open about the celestia because she isn't bound by the contract that Morax, Raiden, Barbatos, etc that restricted them from sharing to others.
Venti kind of has to lie and deceive the traveller, I mean he cant exactly tell the truth when the gate to celestia is right underneath his statue in mondstat.
Not to mention that storm terrors lair is the original capital of his nation which is now in ruins just like khaen'ria.
Here's an idea, do we really know that Celestia is the one made a contract with zhongli? becuse it could be someone else, like our sibling, the tsaritsa, or someone we don't know entirely,
This is a really good point! The last time I visited the wiki, it said Zhongli’s contract is with a “third party” and doesn’t specify who that third party is. Though Celestia is a likely identity, I don’t think we know for sure yet.
he said that he signed it before it all being, What is this thing that started? We do not know, but the most thinks that it's before the destruction of khaenri'ah.
@@Hunter635_ maybe he's talking about thier rebellion against Celestia? that they signed the contract to overthrow the heavenly principals long ago and now their plans are now in motion
@@mitab1 but with who?.. I do not think that the contract was with the cryo archon, because from the way he talks about the contract, it seems somewhat old. he said "I have always honoured the contract", it looks like a contract of hundreds or thousands of years.. and it seems that the traveler is not the first person to ask him.
@@Hunter635_ maybe it's our sibling? or someone else we don't know?
I think I’m going for trusting Venti, and the Pyro Archon… why? Could somebody roll the subtitles on the Natlan chapter? Read it, and that’s my reason why
Yae might be as useful as the archons too due to her connection with Sacred Sakura and the ley lines. Sacred Sakura is able to predict the future and Yae has the ability to control this tree
Not to mention, this tree might have some power from Istaroth and obviously the power of Makoto
venti is def very suspicious 🤨 especially because under his statue in monstadt is the words "gate to celestia", yeah he's hiding something. and the fact we havent got a part 2 of his story quest as well !! and how venti says "then allow me to join your quest /ONCE AGAIN/", he knows something we dont
he is older than irminsul he came to this world after its creation
Interesting seeing Ei and Zhonli's fear being based on being forgotten and mentioning how if the traveler remembers them they'll live forever. Perhaps the punishment from celestia is not merely being killed and destroyed, it's being erased from history - perhaps likewise to what happened to Rukkhadevata but instead of it happening only to the archon as an individual, the whole nation gets destroyed and erased. Just how no one knows much about the nailed civilizations. This further makes Khaenriah even more interesting as the cataclysm is something everyone knows of, and it may indicate that either Celestia left the memories of them untouched as a warning to the other nations or considering Celestia being silent and playing into the theory of Celestia is empty and everyone there died, it could mean that celestia was destroyed while fighting Khaenriah and that's why the memory of Kheanriah persists.
Also I personally don't really see the archons as perfect divine beings, I see them much more as people than gods. They're just the most powerful creatures of teyvat and while their raw strength, long livespans really make them godlike to the rest of the creatures of teyvat, they've got so many flaws and human-like characteristics. The real omnipotent gods in genshin are Celestia's descenders, while the archons are more like the greek gods, which were shown as people with godly powers more than omnipotent and omniscient gods like in the big monotheistic religions that are dominationg today's world.
Zhongli's one is not fear but respect for the contract....what do you except from god of contracts?
It doesn’t seem that zhongli is afraid per day he just has a contact and he values that above all (because he tries to get past celestia by metaphor) that brings up a question why isn’t he afraid as much as ei or venti
so i have a theory what if the abyss traveler was in old time an archon and the other traveler cant remeber it or something i say it becous the traveler says at the begining "when we wanted to leave..." and the fact that one of the siblings is a decender and the counter part is not
Venti has always mysterious and multilayered that he knows what Celestia is like, his dislike for it was also shown in the webtoon (that never continued) but I refuse to believe that Dvalin is a Vishap! His way of speaking with us has always been a play on words for us to figure out for ourselves just like every lore event drop he's been in, he only steps in when necessary.
Unlike Zhongli who would have us plan his own funeral for him and save his nation. He is the most tight lipped about anything regarding Celestia and I personally trusted him less after that, I understand why and the man did love theatre with the most attention grabbing way possible.
It's interesting to talk about Ei.. Every archon, every being has gone through trauma of some magnitude and haven't we all just wanted to hide away from the world..? I still think Ei has two sides to her even without Makoto.. The warrior and the child scared of the unknown but will fight back if cornered. It's not surprising she knew little but until Nahida, we learned that archon's didn't give visions (which made alot of funny comics irrelevant and just a past idea).
Nahida has all the knowledge but as we've learned, it can be altered and I'm sure there could also be a way to insert it as well being that our twin is considered part of Teyvet with all its laws. We aren't effected by the ley lines so I doubt the legitimacy within reason to what she says because she too is also effected by it.
Will you ever do a video on the original cryo archon
The more the Cataclysm had an affect on each Archon and each nation the more I personally trust them to do what needs to be done when the time comes.
Ei and Nahida both have genuine reasons for have having issues with both the Abyss Order and Clestia. I'd bet my last Mora when the time comes both of them along with the Cryo Archon will back us up no matter what. Especially Ei as she actually has had negative repercussions that affect her today. Nahida a little bit less so but still very much has to deal with the huge fallout the event caused.
Venti and Zhongli both seemingly have had far less personal consequences within themselves and in their nations caused by the event. Yes Venti was poisoned by Durin and had to take a nap and the Abyss invaded in the Chasm but other than those two events both of them seem virtually unaffected by the massive event that supposedly shook the world. The Cryo Archon is apparently straight up starting a rebellion against Clestia. At least according to the Story teaser that's the case. Whatever happened to her must be insanely problematic for her to go that far.
I don't fully trust the first two Archons we met they could sway to either side. What side they pick could be the difference between us getting answers and finally getting what we've been looking for. Or us getting set back to square one. But allies are allies until proven otherwise. Thus they have some of my trust.
The ultimate question of why Kanrie'ah was destroyed and what they we're up too could change absolutely everything about my view point but this is what it is for now.
Nah. We can trust Venti and Zhongli. Don't Forget Zhongli willingly gave his Gnosis to the Tsaritsa in a contract so he's on board with her rebellion.
Venti is the god of Freedom. Celestia is the literal Anti thesis of his ideals.
From what I understand, khaenri'ah was eather planning to invade the other nations using abyssal monsters, or get unlimited source of energy, or both, witch led them to open a path way between teyvat and other realm(maybe the abyss realm) witch led to, abyss monsters folding through to teyvat killing khaenri'ahns and none khaenri'ahns alike, seeing that their plan failed, they started fighting back the monsters, and when those monsters attacked the other nations, Celestia called the archons to deal with the problem, but when some archons died, Celestia send in the sustainer of heavenly principals, nad then the nail, and from nahida's story quest act 2 we learn that the nails were made to fight against Forbidden knowledge and the abyss, but due to the damge they couse on the land, Celestia doesn't use them lightly, meaning the cataclysm was really bad,
Also in the pari world quest, we were told that khaenri'ahns start getting a "dark sickness that turned them into monsters" witch could mean that Celestia didn't turn khaenri'ahns into monsters, but the abyss did, maybe Celestia made them immortal so they don't carry that sickness into the laylines doom all of teyvat,
@@arnowisp6244 If both Zhongli and Venti had to pick between supporting Clestia and keeping their nation or rebelling against Celestia for all the things they've done and costed them personally. It'll be a toss up on which side they'd choose they may not like Clestia but neither of them have personal reasons to fight against them either. At least not that I know of of course I could be wrong.
As opposed to Ei and Nahida they both would join for more personal reasons not just pick the winning side that would benefit them the most.
@@ViralwingX why would Nahida and Ei fight for eather tsaritsa or Celestia? Like what are their reasons?
@@mitab1(Huge Disclaimer) Of course I could be majorly over thinking this. I haven't gotten to Nahida's new story quest or the Caribert Archon Quest. So maybe I'm missing some information that you guys know about. If that's the case oops please disregard everything I've just said before and after this. Feel free to call be stupid too for making ideas without all the info.
From everything we've seen thus far the Cryo Archon is collecting the Gnosis to rebel against Celestia. What exactly are her reasons for doing so? We don't know. But since every Archon seems to not really be on Celestia's side of things. We could expect the Archons that we've met so far to either side With or Against the Cryo Archon in her rebellion against Celestia. Considering none of the Archons thus far seem to really care about their Gnosis which is their connection to Celestia. We can safely assume that they don't care too much for Celestia.
The ultimate question though. Is . Which side will they chose when everything goes off? Celestia or the Cryo Archon. Of course they could do nothing and just not be involved. Just let the Cryo Archon rebel alone and suffer the consequences. Considering Celestia's power to just End nations remaining neutral seems like the best course of action otherwise every Archons nation could be wiped out.
Considering how much messed up stuff Celestia has caused to happen I can definitely see how each Archon could side with the Cryo Archon but at the same time considering how terrifying Celestia is I could see them siding with Cesltia too, even if they agree with the Cryo Archon Celestia's power might have them too afraid that they themselves or their nation could be next. So they don't take the risk instead they just stick to the status quo.
None of that takes into consideration the Abyss Order. What happened in Kanrie'ah. Or even weather or not the Archons were in the right to destroy The nation. Or if were they ordered to do so and did it reluctantly. Nahida's predecessor died due the events of the Cataclysm as did The first Electro Archon I could see how that would spur both current Archons to rebel against Celestia.
He means himself have step down from the throne
