Not really. John's vest color wasn't green and stitch position was different, his RDR1 shirt is baggier and u can find beta shirt/rdr1 shirt in game files, His hat didn't had white stitch in RDR1.
Now that's the John Marston I'd want to free-roam with! The other one just makes me want to restart the game and play as Arthur since he looks like him anyway.
The problem with playing as Arthur is that you can’t get access to new Austin, can’t get legend of the east outfit (without cheats), some weapons will only be buyable in chapter 6 where Arthur is already sick and also dead eye will be fully advanced in chapter 6.
I'm quite happy with RDR 2 on my PS4, but seeing this mod is making me considering getting for PC, I always felt John resembled more of Arthur than RDR 1 John weirdly enough, great work
Sometimes I hate it when modders have to fix things that the community want the devs to fix it just shows that the community cares more about the game and the characters than the people who made the damn game but other than that it’s a really great mod

I can honestly see why most of John’s iconic outfit is different between RDR and RDR2, seeing that its a 4 year difference between the RDR2 Epilogue and the start of RDR, but did they really have to make the gloves the wrong size?
I think the gloves are more accurate to how they would be in the real world, But the old ones definitely look better. I think the current clothes are fine due to the 4 year difference, John looking the way he does though isnt. He still has arthurs throw up noise too, They definitely rushed him

It has been a rough and honest years for John and under the sun does numbers on hard workers. Not many can understandably relate.

from what i can tell the working theory is that for some reason, they basically canned the proper John model right at the last second, in favor of giving us Arthur Marston, because they couldn't get hair growth to work right, since there are files in game for John's proper hair at different lengths.

We are all actually witnessing the "downfall" of R*. Everything, that made R* so unique and thus successful, is being written off currently. There's nothing to look forward in terms of RDR3 or GTA, it's downhill from here. It will simply not feel like R*.

If they did remake rdr1 then they need to have an even more upgraded version of rdr2's euphoria cause rdr1s ragdolls were insanely good and they also need to keep shimmy and climb mechanics with even more from rdr2 and MAKE SHOOTING 2 LEGS LIKE IT WAS IN THE ORIGINAL.
@@Aclipso kinda a side note I love the death physics/animations in both games, rockstar seems to have taken influence from old western films and their over the top deaths (pretty much leaping over railings when shot) and it feels really satisfying when you get a slow one, where they take a second or two to fall over

I agree a looser shirt would be awesome, but that isn't possible currently as the looser shirt models clip through the open vest model, and the only shirt which doesn't is the cassimere, which is a shame. Hopefully it can be fixed with later versions of OpenIV though!

As someone who's played since release I've personally seen John face slowly get morphed into Arthur's aswell as countless glitches arising in storymode where as on release I played through the entire game and only had one small bug. This is exactly why the main creative directors left after rdr2 story released, they probably hated what take 2 had turned their company into and jumped ship as soon as they had the chance, mark my words Rockstar is going to go down the same path as Bethesda and EA

This really does make it clear just how much John feels off in the actual game. Just looking at this, I can't help but think "Now *THAT* is John Marston!" It'd be so damn cool to get to play as John in the epiloque if it was like this. I gotta revisit the game when I finally manage to upgrade my PC. (Currently playing the game on Playstation)

For all of the things they got right in RDR2 I thought John Marston's appearance in the epilogue was one of the biggest oversights of the entire game. It made me want to rush through the end game just to get it over with 😕
@@Barbozo89 Well this has nothing to do with New Austin but in Mexico the original ambience will play the longer you stay there sometimes you'll even hear dogs barking. It was hell for me to get there without cheats but I explored it all and heard the OG music. I'm not even lying when I say it brought a tear to my eye.
The first time I played RDR2 as John Marston, I felt like he seems like Arthur, but it was because the hair, the other times it seems like himself, that was two months after the launch of the game. Then, few months later now JM was practically identical to Arthur, the difference is color of the hair and the voice, but even the dialogues were equal, then I saw a video where JM in the firsts versions of the game JM was the real model but suddenly his model were removed and used the Arthur's. This video was impressive not just for restore the appearance of John, but because even the way he hold the guns and shoot, even clothes, I never realize of that!
random thing i wish you could do i rdr2, take off your shirt, either remove off hand holster, (i think looks dumb) or give john or arthur traditional draw, ( or calvelry dray like hosea and micah) open vests, and remove the satchel (don’t like the look of it)

I don't understand that people do not understand how clothes ages. Everyone who wears a white shirt know that it yellows over time. That's what happened with John's shirt in Red Dead Redemption 1. It's not as white as it was in Red Dead Redemption 2 due to aging.
to give rockstar i tiny bit of benefit of the doubt, i think they only made johns vest look a bit blue because they wanted to actually look like denim like it was supposed to be in the first game, its a denim vest yet the shininess and the dark color made it almost look like leather

Retexture made it look closer to RDR1 also RDR1 Vest,shirts,pants are not same. RDR1 Vest has gray color and different stitches, RDR1 Gunbelt is darker, RDR1 Shirt is baggier, RDR1 Pants are baggier too and didn't look like skinny jeans.

The first time I played RDR2 as John Marston, I felt like he seems like Arthur, but it was because the hair, the other times it seems like himself, that was two months after the launch of the game. Then, few months later now JM was practically identical to Arthur, the difference is color of the hair and the voice, but even the dialogues were equal, then I saw a video where JM in the firsts versions of the game JM was the real model but suddenly his model were removed and used the Arthur's. This video was impressive not just for restore the appearance of John, but because even the way he hold the guns and shoot, even clothes, I never realize of that!

random thing i wish you could do i rdr2, take off your shirt, either remove off hand holster, (i think looks dumb) or give john or arthur traditional draw, ( or calvelry dray like hosea and micah) open vests, and remove the satchel (don’t like the look of it)

had to make my rdr online john marston look like he was 100 years old just to get the scuffed up look and stubble that was just right, for some reason making him look young just doesnt look right, thats why i always preferred john from the first game, anyways great reskin!

The reason the shirt is grater in rdr1 is cuz it's an old shirt. So I think ur kissing the point. Most of these details make sense to think would naturally come between rdr1 and rdr2 since time passed

Thing I think most people don’t realize is John is wearing a new white shirt simply because it’s more accustomed to where the game takes place more (colder climate)
I don't understand that people do not understand how clothes ages. Everyone who wears a white shirt know that it yellows over time. That's what happened with John's shirt in Red Dead Redemption 1. It's not as white as it was in Red Dead Redemption 2 due to aging.

to give rockstar i tiny bit of benefit of the doubt, i think they only made johns vest look a bit blue because they wanted to actually look like denim like it was supposed to be in the first game, its a denim vest yet the shininess and the dark color made it almost look like leather
The gloves are my biggest gripe. Why are they so massive? Like something Mickey Mouse would wear.
Rockstar might not wanna fix the game (even though it looked fine in the pre-release screenshots) but at least modders can make John the way he’s supposed to be

Retexture made it look closer to RDR1 also RDR1 Vest,shirts,pants are not same. RDR1 Vest has gray color and different stitches, RDR1 Gunbelt is darker, RDR1 Shirt is baggier, RDR1 Pants are baggier too and didn't look like skinny jeans.

Has anyone stopped to consider maybe this isn't supposed to be og John because og John is 4 years older and from a previous game with lower end graphics, maybe Rockstar wanted to overhaul his appearance since they have better graphics now AND he's younger in the epilogue so naturally he would look slightly different than he did in rdr1, I think the reason rockstar hasn't "fixed" him is because he's already just the way they want him to be
You know this would make sense if John didn't literally look like Arthur with scarred face and black hair, scuffed clothing and John stealing Arthur's voice lines.
