Hey Arito, I found your channel today and I been binging your videos for hours. I’m just getting into building pedals and your videos are super thorough and helpful. Can’t wait for another upload!
Hi Blake, thank you so much!! I really appreciate your kind compliments and am so happy to hear that you enjoy my videos! My uploads are pretty sporadic, but I'm hoping to change that and have a consistent schedule. In the mean time, please enjoy the archives!
Ok cool... started writing this @ 6:30 and without looking at the comments. I prefer the stock. MOD I guess you changed the high pass cap and maybe you added 2 diodes close to the output "hard clipping". ..... suggestion. I am a metal guy and what I'd like to hear about overdrive pedals is the "chuga chuga thing" lol. How pedals clean the low end especially at high gain settings on tube amps (no or low gain on the pedals). Enjoyed your vid. Keep them coming ;)
Thanks for watching! And thank you for sharing your impressions and guesses about the mod! Unfortunately I don't have the skills or high gain amps to do any metal tones🤣 But, great to hear you enjoyed the video!
Thanks for interesting puzzle, great nerdy idea 😀 I probably like moded version more. I'd say it has more lower mids also in clipping. So I'd say you modified C24 to higher value, 1u or maybe more.
Hey Arito! Cool concept. 1. I like both sounds, but would use them in different applications. Stock sounds better with a clean amp because it is more open and full range. The mod would likely sound better in front of a dirty amp. 2. Stock has a more open, natural 'flatter' and wider range, which is great. And the mod has more midrange, more like the SD-1 3. I have no clue LOL
I feel that the mod its less transparent. A little more agresive and more mids. For personal taste, i like more the stock sound in this case, but for a lot of people could be the oposite situation!
I gues you have changed the c30 for a lower value, maybe made de c22 a litle hogher, and c22 a lower value , and dont be suprise to mod the d9 and d 12 , but normaly these diodes dont change too much
