@@aritoSure thing, thank you very much. Brian Wampler has about 7-9 changes for the OD-3, he’s bumping up C22 to 1uF which I feel is way too high so I didn’t do it to mine. Kinda like you mentioned, having the 10K trimpot for R11 helps dial in more treble than stock which I feel helps even it out a bit more. 👍🏽
@@RasCuban33 Yes, that trim pot you have sounds like a great idea! I made a point not to research other folks mods before I made the video, but sounds like Brian Wampler has a really extensive mod!
@RasCuban33 hi, Excuse me, what does the c8 do? If I remove it or put it in a switch, what would be the change in the sound of the pedal? thank you so much
Great video, great job teaching. I’m very interested in this. I want to learn to repair my pedals and amps, and now I know about moding. I’ll check out your other videos too.
Thanks for watching! And thank you so much for the kind words, great to hear you enjoyed the video! Definitely check out my other videos as well, let me know if you have any questions. 😃
Really interesting stuff! I just stumbled upon your channel today for the first time. Do you have any resources to recommend for beginners trying to understand pedal schematics like these?
Thanks for watching! And thank you so much for your kind compliments! Great to hear you're interested in getting into this geeky stuff, welcome to the club! 🤣 As for resources, I've accumulated my knowledge over the years, and don't really know of a single site/channel I can point you to. In my experience, the best way to learn is to start modding or building pedals yourself, and in the process, you'll naturally have questions. Researching and looking up answers to those questions will slowly build up your knowledge. 😃
Thanks for the great video! I'm wondering if you've ever tried the Keeley-suggested mod of removing removing the d6 and d7 diodes for a potentially more open sound? Thanks again!
Thanks for watching! Great to hear you enjoyed the video! I've never tried that mod, but it definitely makes sense since you've already amplified and clipped the signal in the previous stage, that FET stage with only 2 silicon diodes will clip and compress the signal even more. So, removing them should open up the sound. Instead of removing them, another thing you can try is to swap the diodes with LEDs.
Great explanation. My favorite Boss overdrive.
Thanks for watching! And thank you for the kind words, I really appreciate it! The OD-3 is a great pedal, I feel it deserves more recognition.
I'm simultaneously learning about electronics and music, and I couldn't be happier
Thank you so much! I really appreciate your kind words! I hope you enjoyed this video, and please check out my other videos as well. 😄
I'm consuming your back catalog as we speak 😊

Thanks for the follow up video - always like your content.
Thank you for the kind words and support in checking out my videos! I really appreciate it, and am happy to hear that you enjoyed this video as well!
If you go back to the Fender store, I would like to watch your follow-up. Thanks again for creating this king of content!@@arito
@@danrussell9357 Thanks! I haven't been back there yet, but will definitely make a video if I go, assuming that they allow me to shoot in the store!
Very informative, these were the mods I did to mine and I’m happy with the outcome.
r11: 10k trimpot set for treble
c13: .022uf
c8: wire into switch
Thanks for watching! And thank you for sharing your mods with us! Looks like you have a great mod going on there, I'm sure it sounds really nice!

Hi let's say I don't add a pot but just want a bit more treble, should I increase or reduce R11 ? Thx
