  • Here's another Gem from the archives!
Roger went down to SAE in Miami to do a broadcast round table for their students. We have interviewer Dan Daley, Eric Schilling, DJ MUGGS, Alan Parsons, Desmond Child - all South Florida locals at the time.
I went to this interview and was sitting just off camera. I had a lot of fun watching it and then I got to go with them to South Beach for dinner afterwards. I MEAN dad is cool and all, but what 20 year old wouldn't wanna hang with DJ MUGGS of Cypress Hill!! I told him i was moving to LA soon, sorry we didn't connect Muggs lol.
I just edited the dad bits out for this channel - the tape I received from their archives did cut off in mid sentence.
If you would like to support our efforts get your drum samples and EQ articles here! We are excited to hear what you make with them.

Imagine visiting Disneyland and seeing Larry Carlton playing guitar. Roger was just the most fascinating guy. What an incredible life. And with his love of recording experiences on video, what an amazing RUclipsr he would have been! Thanks again, Cimcie. These videos are pure gold.

The ideas Roger had as a young Teenager and his desire to see "What Happens" really shows how he succeeded in making his dreams come true. Nothing better than doing what drives your passion and getting paid for it and most importantly acquiring life long friends along the way! I can't imagine how cool it would have been to hear Frank Zappa and Roger Nichols "Talk Shop" and try out their suggestions! Besides hearing such groovy tunes, we also learn some gnarly things too Cimcie! Thank you so very much for wanting to include us Fans! MOO From COW-lumbus

Yes!! We hope this inspires people, kids, everyone to keep trying things until it works. Thanks to him and my mom i don't believe there is any problem that does not have a solution. Including my short marriage! I believe everything is fixable, maybe to a fault.

Your father was one of the few people on Earth that Alan Parsons would sit in silence and listen quietly to.

Did he also engineer Parsons music?

bahhahahhaha. could you imagine what he would have done if he had stayed in physics? We have thought that a few times.

I remember being at an early stage planning meeting with a load of students who wanted to put on a festival weekend at the local university. I was a lot older than them and thought it was a crazy idea but part way through the meeting I realized that they would likely succeed because, just as Roger says at one point in this video, they were too young and inexperienced to know that they couldn't do it so they tried and were successful.

I'm not a big fan of clicks and pops on vinyl records either! Great video.
