    In my previous CSGO sticker tutorial I demonstrated a fast method of creating a holo mask for holo stickers. In this video I follow the guidelines of Valve’s official documentation in order to create the mask using GIMP.

    Quick note: If you painted an area in your image black in the red layer you don't really need to take it into consideration when editing the green and blue channels because it will not have the holo effect anyway

    I've realized that i missed the fingers of the chicken while editing the Red layer due to a mistake in the selection, which caused the base texture to appear in the fingers instead of them being holographic. Sorry about that!

      I'll be working on one soon. But in general my existing CSGO tutorial should be helpful. Besides the move from the SDK tool to the Workshop Item Editor not a lot has changed

    Hello, thank you for the tutorial. Do you have a link where I can download the spectrum?

    • @viperskins
      @viperskins  Год назад

      Thank you :)
      You can either go to C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Counter-Strike Global Offensive\csgo\materials\models\weapons\customization\stickers\default and use the holowarp_default.vtf file (If this path doesn't exist then you need to extract the pak01_dir.vpk under the csgo folder using the GCFScape tool).
      Or you can simply go to the sticker documentation (counter-strike.net/workshop/workshopstickers), scroll down to the holo section and save the spectrum picture.
      But if you just want your sticker to use the default spectrum then just add $holospectrum models\weapons\customization\stickers\default\holowarp_default in your vmt file

      @IncanusxD Год назад

      Thanksss. This spectrum with only one line and larger width (the one in the counter-strike documentation) works the same way as yours who is splited in 4 lines?

    Hey viper I made a sticker and ended up wasting my time because when I tried to submit it in the workshop it says bad holo mask or holo mask is missing do you know this issue?

    • @viperskins
      @viperskins  2 года назад

      So you get these errors when you try to submit the sticker?
      1. Have you provided a holo mask during the submission of the holo sticker?
      2. Before submitting the stickers, did you check them in the SDK tool and saw that they work properly??

    • @Salen0243
      @Salen0243 2 года назад

      @@viperskins Yes I'm getting this errors when submitting to workshop and I have also provided the holo sticker and checked in SDK tool and it was working and it was showing properly in the SDK tool but the problem was with holo mask.

    really good video once again, bringing knowledge no other videos give that simply, 1 question (again XD) in the new holo spectrum that is 2024x2024, its divided by 4 equal parts, that means that the greys we apply on the blue layer are divided by 4 as well? meaning from pure black to 75% black is one tone, from 75%-50% and so on, so you can play with grey gradients as well? i dont know if my comment makes much sense XD

    • @viperskins
      @viperskins  2 года назад

      Thank you very much!
      Regarding your question I basically did what you described: divided the spectrum to 4 and roughly chose the shades of gray to be in the ranges 0%-25%, 25%-50% and so on. You can definitely use a gradient, in fact it would be interesting to see how the holo effect behaves in such cases.
      In this video I made the spectrum this way for simplicity. The resulting holo effect wasn't the best I've come up with but I believe it was good enough for demonstrating the concept. But there's a lot of room for experimenting when it comes to the spectrum and the blue channel values

      Regardning the grey values in the blue layer, I always had the info that more white means seeing the spectrum with more detail and saturation, while darker tones make the holo more subtle.
      But now that I saw this video I realised this is only true if you use the default spectrum, because that one has a less saturated/detailed greyish color scheme at the bottom. This cleared so much up about my struggles the past couple days, wow.
      One small thing, wouldn't the sharp transitions between the 4 horizontal gradients on the spectrum in this video be visible when looking at the sticker from above???

    • @kuriosagamisou1330
      @kuriosagamisou1330 2 года назад

      @@DonVitoCS2workshop now that you say that, I do see a crips line across my sticker when i inspect it in the sdk tool using the different lighing, i will experiement on it by using smooth transitioning from 1 gradient to another in the holo spectrume file instead of the 4 horizontal gradients that seperate themselves instantly, thanks for pointing it out mate.

    why does my sticker look like it's placed on P250, it has a dent in the middle and number 50 top left corner
    is it some SDK setting or how do i remove it

    • @viperskins
      @viperskins  Год назад

      On the weapons there are default texts and patterns. The P250 has the text "SIC SAWER P250" near the barrel. When you apply a sticker these texts and patterns will appear on top of the sticker. So the 50 that you see is part of the last word in the phrase I wrote above, P250.
      There's no way around it and you shouldn't worry about it

    • @bogoman
      @bogoman Год назад

      @@viperskins is it normal to see the p250 texts and shapes even when the sticker is not placed on any weapon, it feels like the texts are bugged and stuck on the sticker
      i dont think it looks like that on anyone else's stickers

    • @bogoman
      @bogoman Год назад

      @@bogoman Oh I misunderstood you! I thought you meant that you see the text when you apply the sticker on the P250.
      Yeah the SDK tool is not the best tool you'll ever see. If you see some very illogical stuff on your sticker try restarting the tool. Best of luck :)
