I’ve been listening to PF since 1971. I am 76 years old, 77 next month, and I can remember when this album came out. I was blown away. Never heard such music before. I saw them live twice. In Hamilton Ontario Canada and Syracuse NY, USA. Time flies. I was young and dumb then. Now I am a wise old grandfather of 4. My road ahead is getting shorter and shorter. I can reflect on my life now and I’ve done 100 dumb things but God got me through every one. I thank Him for where I am now in life. Pink Floyd will be played at my funeral. Some things I’ve learned in my travels through life are, be good to people, give them a 2nd chance, help people when you can, be faithful to your spouse and love your family unconditionally. If you’re listening to this music and reading my post, you’re probably a person I would love to know. Maybe we’ll meet on the other side (the good side I hope). Peace out, Tom. P.S. RUclips "Rumpus Band" then go down to the 5th song. You'll be blown away. A kid band singing Comfortably Numb. I just discovered them.

We are far apart geographically but very close musically. I'm 35 years old, I grew up listening to Pink Floyd. I never had the opportunity to see them together but I had the opportunity to attend a concert by David Gilmour on the Rattle that lock tour and Roger Waters on the Us and Them tour, it was an achievement for me, a moment that I will take with me for a lifetime. It would be a pleasure to make small talk listening to pink floyd with you my friend. Thank you internet, thank you Pink Floyd for providing moments like this. Greetings from Brazil!

I understand. I never got to see them live until the Momentary Lapse of Reason Tour! It was awesome, but still regretted that I never saw the original lineup play! They played the Animals tour in my city, but I was too young, and really knew nothing about them at the time! (1976), Then it was 3 years later before they did the Wall concerts, but these were only in New York and LA, California, and being a high school senior, from Louisville Ky, did not have the money to afford this!

I was. 11 when I first heard them coincidentally in a library in 1975. Back then, people could choose a vinyl record in public libraries, , and there were headphones for everyone and chairs. and I just sat there and heard the great gig in the sky by coincidence. Someone else was listening to the dark side of the moon. When I heard that, I was completely overwhelmed, and Pink Floyd became my favorite music for my entire life. I saw them 1980 in Dortmund, in one of 7 concerts in a row of The Wall. because the show was so big, they choosed the biggest hall in Germany and they only played in that hall. When I look back, all of the bands I saw back then, have been great. The best thing I did when I was a teen. I knew it was the right thing, and today I am glad I saw all of these Bands. Ac DC with bon Scott, van Halen, queen on "the game" tour Nazareth 2 times, Saga, and a lot more. Pink Floyd is the one, I never want to miss. I am glad that I did it.

So i just stayed around listening from outside along with a bunch of other guys. Then half the way through the show a kindly man opened a side door and we got inside. There were no seats except for some above the stage and i could hardly see half of it as the PA speaker column hid the right side. But it was much better than nothing.

Gilmour’s opinion about Roger, as stated in Rock Compact Disc Magazine, September 1992, is as follows:
“He had developed his own limited or very simple style. He was never very keen on improving himself as a bass player, and half the time I would play bass on the records because I would tend to do it quicker. Right back to those early records; I mean, at least half the bass on all recorded output is me anyway.
Well, I think it’s been said, but it’s certainly not something we go around advertising. Rog used to come in and say, ‘Thank you very much’ to me once in a while for winning him bass-playing polls.”

Saw them three times around this time, Rainbow, Brighton Dome, and Earls Court. Things I remember; the band was very unassuming no real spotlights just play the music, a bootleg of the Rainbow concert was on sale in Brighton a few weeks later, the light show was phenomenal for its time like three football stadium lighting gantries on pneumatic lifts, first time I saw fireworks at a concert, no extra musicians jut the four and I think the Blackbirds backing, Earls Court had surround sound and we were sat in front of one of the speaker banks - never want to hear Malcolm Muggeridge that loud ever again. Always an event but always the music first.
