This video was so helpful. I’m getting a 125cc tomorrow and I just watch another video and it make me scared but this has made me confident thank you so much
Thank you! I just got a 2013 piranha 125 and I took it out to a field. I tried for 2 hours and couldn't get it to go into 1st gear (keep in mind this is my first bike), the one time I did get it to go, it popped a wheelie and almost threw me off. Thanks for this video, your a life saver!
I am a beginner rider but I have this bike thanks for giving me some pointer's on how to drive the thing you gave me a little more confidence to not be scared of the bike..
Some ssr 125s like mine have 3 choke settings on, middle and off. When its dead cold choke is all the way on(up Direction), after it starts up immediately move the choke down to the half setting then after 15 seconds move it to off. Also has 3 settings for fuel off on and reserve.
This will be useful when i get one of these bikes in about 2 weeks. I was never into this stuff until my neighbors got Honda's. I don't want to spend a lot of money so i looked up some pit bikes and found out that these little bikes are a ton of fun. Also chi town all the way.
Max speed media i just got a 2014 pit bike for my birthday and i have experience on regular dirt bikes so this is an easy fun toy to mess around with indeed
@ Austin James I got the Black and White helmet from motorcycle superstore. It's a Vega Viper Jungle. It has some sick graphics and was amazingly on $40 !! They don;t have that model anymore but they do have some other cool ones to choose from.
Seat height is 29" . It's not too small for you. My kids are 5'11 and they ride them. If you want more info about the specs, look here: www.ssrmotorsports.com/store/pitbike/sr125.htm
Sean Logan It may be a bad CDI unfortunately. If you have fuel and even spark the CDI may be bad if it won't kick over. It's the little black box under the gas tank with a connector plug on it.
hey thanks, yea im getting a spark, but it turns out the fuel i was using had oil mixed in and i grabbed the wrong can (my dumbass), So i guess im gonna be cleaning my carb today haha, but thanks, i was also afraid either a fouled plug or faulty timing! thanks!
A good thing to practice is putting the bike into first gear and let go of the clutch slowly and then the bike will start rolling and you should practice just walking the bike like that. When you are ready then slowly pull the throttle while the clutch is out. IF YOU ARE DOING THIS FOR THE FIRST TIME THEN DONT HOLD THE THROTTLE WHILE WALKING THE BIKE BECAUSE FIRST TIMERS MIGHT PULL A WHEELIE
This was the best explaining video and on the left side of the shift do i press down the shift couple of times to be on first gear or it restarts the shift to be in 1st gear again when i ride my dirt bike again good video
I have a similar bike just semi auto and was wondering if when I shift do I just reach the top speed in 1st gear then let off the throttle then shift up (my bike is 4 up)
Yes also if you are holding the clutch you can rev really high and the let go of it, this is how you rev match. It is better for your bike and also *faster*
Hey this is a very good tutorial. Thanks. Because im about to buy my very first dirt bike. and i like this one alot. Is this a good first bike for a 40 year dad? haha.
Hi I just got the 2015 ssr125 pitbike and wanted to know what the setting "Res" means on the fuel petcock... and how to use the three settings on the choke. Thank you.
Im about to get a 140cc pit bike and I heard a lot of riders talking about switching gears without the clutch and only by letting of the throttle and apparently that's one way riders switch gears on a dirt bike. Would it be just as normal on a 140cc pitbike ? I was thinking because it's smaller and stuff maybe the gear box isn't as durable and wouldn't last too long if you switch gears only by letting off the throttle and using no clutch.
Do you have to pull in the clutch when you want to brake, because if i watch people doing wheelie on other bikes they never oull in the clutch but idk about the ssr.
just wondering I'm probably gonna sound like an idiot but do you down shift on the corners and let go of the accelerator? and if your coming to a stop in third gear do you down shift all the way down to first?
+Jaiden Bradford Downshift before entering a corner and during a normal stop you can downshift as you decelerate to first gear. In a quick or panic stop you would pull in the clutch and apply both front and rear brakes. Once stopped you would then put the bike in first gear.
I'm used to my quad where first gear is down 1, neutral is half a click up and all other gears after 1 are 1 full click up from one another. Is neutral all the way down a click for this bike?
Where did you buy yours from? I'm looking for the best price, but it seems like everyone sells them for the same price. Also, if I want to ride on local trails, should I get the 125TR edition, or will the normal 125 work fine?
Hello, im new to these bikes so I have a question, when I hold the clutch and change gears and it goes till the 4th gear, do I start going down to the third and second... then go up again? and do I keep choke and fuel valve on after starting it up?
Only use the choke to start the bike when it's cold. Let off the throttle briefly, pull in the clutch, shift and back on the throttle. All this should take place in a mere second. Once you practice, it's just like breathing. :)
The Yamaha TDR 125 is a much better bike than the SSR. It is in a whole different class. It is a dual sport and the SSR is just a pit bike. I would imagine that the TDR 125 would be a great little bike!

This video was so helpful. I’m getting a 125cc tomorrow and I just watch another video and it make me scared but this has made me confident thank you so much
If I get one in summer it's just gonna be like learning to ride a bicycle again 😂 😂 😂
Same your releasing the glitch too fast

Never commented on a video but this really helped
Most helpful video I’ve seen so far thanks so much for this, now I actually know how to ride it

Yep
Excellent video helped me a lot. Thanks :D

how did u like ssrs are they cool bikes for begginers to just have fun ?
Max speed media i just got a 2014 pit bike for my birthday and i have experience on regular dirt bikes so this is an easy fun toy to mess around with indeed
yes. These are a blast to ride and pretty fasy too. Bonus.
Excellent video! Very informative, now i know how to work these :) Love you guys
Don't forget to say that, every time you apply the breaks for a full stop, you also need to pull the clutch full, otherwise the engine will stall!
I love this video!!!! It is very helpful, this video must reach 10k!!!
The best video I've watched on this thank u
Excellent Tutorial. Very simple to follow along.
@ Austin James I got the Black and White helmet from motorcycle superstore. It's a Vega Viper Jungle. It has some sick graphics and was amazingly on $40 !! They don;t have that model anymore but they do have some other cool ones to choose from.
How tall is the seat hight from the ground because i want to get one but think it might be to small 5'6

ok tyvm
Kevin Hilts do you know if the sale is still going on at pitbikesgonewild.com it says they are 499$
That sounds right. There is shipping which is extra. Call them to find out exact prices.
Mine started this winter here in Michigan. 8in of snow and 20 degrees. Had to choke it and started after 3 kicks. I have a Nibbi carb though.

Sean Logan You bet!
I have to say this... I broke both my arms by using the front brakes, if you have to use it, then just be careful!!!
Bilal Ahmed why did u break them??
Ha fuck sake
+Marty284 Ouch!
I nearly died on a dirt bike
Bilal Ahmed exactly that’s what I thought🤦♂️🤦♂️
i want to see you guys making a wheelie tutorial.
A excellent tutorial on how to ride 2 thumbs up
Thanks Marina! Glad you like it.

I had this bike. I am 220 pounds and this thing pulls like a champ. The top speed I got it to 45-50 mph.BTW, I ride a Honda crf 250r
Cool. CRF 250R is a sweet bike!
This was the best explaining video and on the left side of the shift do i press down the shift couple of times to be on first gear or it restarts the shift to be in 1st gear again when i ride my dirt bike again good video
On saturday I'm going to do that thanks very much
Am from the uk this help me out a lot thanks
Thanks dude, This helped ALOT
I'm thinking about getting this dirt bike.. So I just wanted to hear your opinion on how it rides and how fast it goes
A great demonstration
Thank you this helped me a lot👍🏻
That helped a lot good job fr
good tutorial and cool bike! sounds nice. im planning on getting a head for mine. how many teeth does the camshaft sprocket have?
I have a similar bike just semi auto and was wondering if when I shift do I just reach the top speed in 1st gear then let off the throttle then shift up (my bike is 4 up)
Yep. That would be fine. Have fun, ride safe! :)
if you hold in the clutch, can you give as much throttle if you want without the bike rolling or moving further?
Descend XVI you will burn the clutch. Put it in neutral if you want it to rev freely.
Yes also if you are holding the clutch you can rev really high and the let go of it, this is how you rev match. It is better for your bike and also *faster*
Sweet video love the bike but here did you get them from? Thanks.
Hey this is a very good tutorial. Thanks. Because im about to buy my very first dirt bike. and i like this one alot. Is this a good first bike for a 40 year dad? haha.
like your video man. but where can you buy the bike and what does it cost ?
very good video its help so many
God bless! Spread the word!
Love the video. And I am 5"10 do u think I'm an OK height for this bike
Lots of good info thanks :)
awesome tutorial
Thanks buddy!
These things are crazy fun

Really you guys from Chicago
Excellent video thank you so much
Hi I just got the 2015 ssr125 pitbike and wanted to know what the setting "Res" means on the fuel petcock... and how to use the three settings on the choke. Thank you.
Res is fuel reserve. You would use that when low on fuel. Choke is opened, closed and partial open.
When would you want it partial open?
If it's not warmed up yet.
Thanks
Im about to get a 140cc pit bike and I heard a lot of riders talking about switching gears without the clutch and only by letting of the throttle and apparently that's one way riders switch gears on a dirt bike. Have you ever had to change the clutch cable on your ssr if so can you make a vid on how
Nope. Haven't had to change it yet! We have adjusted them but that's it.
Do you have to pull in the clutch when you want to brake, because if i watch people doing wheelie on other bikes they never oull in the clutch but idk about the ssr.
Can i ride this on the grass? And its not for racing but its fast though and awesome video man.
Sure you can ride it on grass!
And also , do you know anything about the fully automatic ssr's ? Like Bein able to rev it with out it moving ? And do they have gear shifts on them ?
U can't rev them and u can't shift on them
Great video! Lots of good info! How tall is Brandon? I'm 5,11 wondering if this would make a good street bike for store runs ans such
I don't know where you live but where I live you can't ride them on Public streets you need blinkers horn turn signals and break lights
just wondering I'm probably gonna sound like an idiot but do you down shift on the corners and let go of the accelerator? and if your coming to a stop in third gear do you down shift all the way down to first?

I'm used to my quad where first gear is down 1, neutral is half a click up and all other gears after 1 are 1 full click up from one another. Is neutral all the way down a click for this bike?
From what I knew, neutral is all the way on the bottom. N 1 2 3 4
Ok I'm really new to dirt bikes but what happens when your in say 2nd gear and you brake does it automatically downshift or do you downshift manually?
Manually
Heyooo umm if you hold the clutch when trying to start it it might kick over faster:)
It was in neutral so it doesn't matter.
can u please do a totourial on how to ride the automatic I might get one one but im a beginner and don't know how to ride
Not much to an automatic bike
Would a 5ft kid fit in it
Never give gas when your startign a 4stroke with choke. XD anyways good video.
Anarchy Gaming why is that
47 degrease is not cold. Where I live it can be under 10 degrease in summer
In Fahrenheit bud
Oh. I am only 12 after all
+Ed Poole that's all good:)
Where did you buy yours from? I'm looking for the best price, but it seems like everyone sells them for the same price. Also, if I want to ride on local trails, should I get the 125TR edition, or will the normal 125 work fine?
Hello,
im new to these bikes so I have a question, when I hold the clutch and change gears and it goes till the 4th gear, do I start going down to the third and second... then go up again?
and do I keep choke and fuel valve on after starting it up?
And when im done do I close the fuel valve?
Abdul Aziz ElTobgy
Yep
reserve is when u run out of gas and give u extra gas, it's the opitsit side
when adjusting the carb would you want it opened or closed?
Dang that's fast good vid
do you need keys to turn on dirt bike with kickstart and the other way?
What happens if you are in first gear and you don't have the cluck in do you stal?
Thank you guys for helping me oud
Where did you buy the black moto cross helmet ?
Do you have to always use the choke or only when its cold? And when you shift do you keep on accelerating or do you un accelerate? Please answer
Only use the choke to start the bike when it's cold. Let off the throttle briefly, pull in the clutch, shift and back on the throttle. All this should take place in a mere second. Once you practice, it's just like breathing. :)
Alright thanks and one more question sorry that i have another question but what do you think is better a demon xlr 140 or a SSR 125cc
Quick question. I have everything down. Except when I'm doing a U turn. Am I supposed to clutch in or? Thanks!
Jonathan Gonzalez just shift into 1st or second and you’ll be fine
whered you get the graphics? I want these exact ones cant seem to find the right model i have a 2013 ssr 110
+Mattaya Brown They came with the bikes but the red has stickers.
This was helpful thanks
You bet. Thanks
So the initial ride off is the only time u slowly release the clutch?
Yes. If you release the clutch too fast without giving enough gas the bike will stall (turn off).
***** lmaoo, i am guilty of that
+Brabantse Boef nederlanderrrr!!!
+Brabantse Boef ja man geweldig kanaal heb je. Heb jij ook een pitbike dan??
+Brabantse Boef jammer man! Je kan toch ook 2 hobby's hebben
I am new to dort bikes what are the gears for and what do they do
To shift down gears do you just do the opposite of shifting up
Yep
I two stepped mine
I have a question, do all ssr bikes shift up ? or can some go down ?
Thanks I'm surely going to get one
Will you damage a ssr125 semi automatic pit bike if you don't shift gears as of using the first or second gear to The highest speed For a long time?
You can damage the trans or gears and other parts by over revving any vehicle for an extended period of time. So yes.
I'm going to use one of these in hot weather and since I'm new, will I still have to use the choke? or is that just in cold temperatures
Leave the clutch on when you start it but after you start it just turn it off
is a TDR 125 any good because im getting a bike my self and i ride dirt bikes alot but i dont actually own one
The Yamaha TDR 125 is a much better bike than the SSR. It is in a whole different class. It is a dual sport and the SSR is just a pit bike. I would imagine that the TDR 125 would be a great little bike!
Well I've been using my choke opposite 😂
JinglePoops same
Lol
Same!! Lmaoo
@@treyvaillancourt7584 for some reason my bike only starts with the choke off and when I turn it on (up) it just doesnt work
I've never rode before and I'm getting that bike, should I get manual or semi automatic? I don't know how to use a clutch
Get the manual. They are quicker then the semi auto and easy to learn to shift. It will be fun.
i have a question when u stay in one place could u released the clutch without the bike moving ?
If you release the clutch with no gas in any gear except neutral you will stall
@@O-Dub with gas ? Will the bike start moving?
@@O-Dub or do I have to twist the throttle and then hold in the the clutch ?
1:50 is your fuel filter backwards??
+Oliver Bradburn Nope
Max Speed Media ok
Is the ssr 125cc pit bike a good bike like will it break web after a couple of weeks
Clean the carb on it mine will start at 30 degrees use to would take choke and a lot of kicking mine most time don’t even need choke
After the fourth gear do you stop switching gears? please respond
Yes. These only have 4 gears.
thanks for this video
Hi I have a question I jus bought a pitbike 125cc and my clutch get stucc sometime what u think it can be?
Change the clutch cable
Dude I live in Illinois and have a ssr too
Thanks. Will it be an okay height for just to ride around the streets? Im about 5.8
Yep
