That's my only flaw so far that irritates me about canon every time I try to take a one handed macro photo it wants to switch modes...day in the life of a man with big hands🤦🏾♂️
I turned “shutter sound” on because I hit the vid switch enough times and needed to know I was indeed taking photos. The switch has zero resistance and can flip with a light breeze or sneeze.
Never had this issue in 3 years of the R5 and now the R6ii but it happens all the time on my Fuji which has locks on all the buttons except exposure compensation. (Which gets bumped a lot)
It's not as bad as you make it! When you get used to the controls, you won't touch them by mistake. Off/On switch however is in the wrong spot and position for sure!
Why they don't take a queue from Fuji and now Nikon and just put back a shutter speed and ISO dials. I'll always shoot Fuji because of this. Well, the 40 MP images form the X-T5 are nice as well. lol!! And yes, I am a full time pro. 38 years.
Never even thought of using a lock and at the moment in using the old 6D and out in the nights doing astro photograph, also I have taking dragonflies in flight etc all the old 6D is build like a tank and its done the job for me but also it's the weight of a tank so I will be looking at the R6ii for astro landscape and it's a good all rounder
Great advice. Learning to use my day old R6. Could not figure why the LCD screen looked like it did. Then I noticed it showed audio levels and realized I switched to “video”. I did this because my 5D mark 3’s had the power button on the left side where they now have the switch for video. I agree on taping the mode button but I still use custom settings. Anyone know if is there an internal setting to let me go to C1, C2 or C3 without using the mode dial?
Euhuh? Looking at the Lock button on the main power on dial in the right?? Shooting Canon on high pace sports for 15 yrs now, never had any issues like these ... What you do with uour camera? Dangling at your belt out in the open?
@@Michael-fw5ef I preferred the higher-end lenses for contrast, sharpness, and how they handle sun flares. It's great for the price but It really depends on what you are using it for and your personal standards for a lens. The 50mm 1.2 is an amazing lens but it is expensive.
haha. every time I have two cameras and pull it out of my bag with my left hand it goes to aperture priority. Using it in tandem with the R5 I turn on movie mode.
I think that voids the warranty. Also, might want to tape down that wretched hot shoe mount. Ridiculous design, and Canon wants $500 to tighten the damn thing. Been shooting Canon for years. But I’m working my way out of the brand as fast as possible.
As a pro i use everything but canon. The only camera company I refuse to buy a body from. Hell my work bought one and it has a shutter count of like 200 and collects dust.
I’ve been shooting for over 10 years and never had that type of issues, and always had canon.

@@conbeserker5146I think that was a joke my guy.
Ive had that problems on my little R8 and on all crop sensor bodies
Waiting for the day when canon will be bold enough to make a photo-only camera again
Yes Please.
Sure. There are people who'd rather save some money on video capabilities of the camera for better photo capabilities at the same price.
I beg this a lot. As I beg some smartphone company do a flagship smartphone without a fancy camera just cause we have a pro body :D
There is lol
won't ever happen.
There is a lock function on my R6, just choose what to lock and save your tape! You need to read the manual perhaps?
Yes. this has come to light:)
@@ThePhotographerGuysavage
RTFM! read the f.... manual.
We all know nobody is reading the damn manual 😭
you don't know about Humour 😅
Where do we purchase the Canon tape? Also, is there a template for exact placement on the R6 II? Lastly, thank you for filming in American.

I think the canon mk iii tape lists for around 600 dollars
@@kalshnikovkidThat’s ridiculous, you can get it for $200 discounted online, just not Canons own web store…

Never laughed so much on a gear video before 😂 here for the comment section
The mode dial is pretty firm, I guess a lock feature could be a good addition
I turned “shutter sound” on because I hit the vid switch enough times and needed to know I was indeed taking photos. The switch has zero resistance and can flip with a light breeze or sneeze.
Used to make exactly the same with my 5D2, strange that they came back to wheels without locks
My dial has never moved accidentally, not that I recall anyway.. 15yrs of Canon use.
I like how you didn’t notice the “Lock” mode on the switch, you can program it to lock basically any function
haha. It doesn't lock that dial.
There was a lock on the EOS760D and I didn't like that. Very difficult the change that dial by accident. Even more with the video switch.
I heard that the professionals insert Kodak film instead of an SD card

Do people actually stumble so much that they need a mode wheel lock?
only when using more than one camera. Happens when I grab the second one out of my bag...

Wow! Wondered if this could be applied to any canon or if it's only for this specific model???

There is literally a lock mode right next to where you place the tape lol😂

I have never once accidentally messed with any of those. IMHO a lot of canon complaints are blown up a bit too much

is the RF 50 1.8 lens good enough for the R6 II or do you have to buy L glass to use with the camera?
I haven't used it but I'm sure it's a great option. I've used the 35mm 1.8 and that was a decent lens.
