Death is what gives life savor. This game rides that edge between the two so finely that it soaks the game with rich pathos.

I understand that Pepsi & Coke have had actual armed conflicts between mercenary groups in the past (Philippines in the 80s or something like that) and they weren't the only ones. It happens more than you think.
On a similar note its mentioned in Cyberpunk lore that the central America war that Johnny was in was a sponsored war, it was funded and for the benefit of American corporations.... much like many wars we are involved in today, the Gulf war etc.
You say that these types of events in cp2077 are unrealistic but just because they are not publicised or they are spun with heavy bias that doesn't mean they aren't real.

Cyberpunk was, is and was always meant to be a dystopia, a warning from Gen-x to not take the world in this direction. You may have noticed that there is no happy ending in any cyberpunk story; books, films or games. There is no happy life in the world of cyberpunk, hope always gets crushed.
You may have access to advanced technology but there is no soul, you are a product to be spent, a thing to be used and discarded and that's at any level of society, rich, poor whatever. No matter how powerful you think you could get the ever consuming city and its despair always wins!
This is not a future you would want, it is a future that corporations in their folly are tying to make.
Well said! It's the very definition of dystopia. It was interesting to me seeing all the thought pieces and video essays on how great the world of cyberpunk 2077 is.
My own video was trying to put it into the perspective that it's all the good parts of this game about the future that we subconsciously desire. It's more about the narrative dissonance of the game too. This is my first real 'video essay', so perhaps I could have worded it better, but maybe in another video, for another game!

got the game from day one, yea it was very buggy bla, bla, bla, - the story and mission interactions voice acting and the feels, was always great from the start...
There is an opposite solar punk reality where everyone is almost happy and technology is Chanelled for good usage and ease of life yet cyber punk is focusing on todays society life style and its path twards evolution mean while not evolving at morality and not mature enough to understand the root solution despite all of the technology advancements the polarized common human subject made as poor and rich still plays a cruciaal role in defining the social credit ( known as street credit in game ) and is impact on the quality of the daily life of each character.but no matter where our character in gmae V strarts her/his journey whether a corporate officer at arasaka or a street kid she will end up in the same fate no matter what the choice option is . But we can't deny by climbing the corporate ladder via making connection with some what higher style people we have the luxury option of living as a mental construct (engram) in arasaka company and selling our soul and letting go of our pesky human ego goals and dreams becoming a project weponizing , experimenting ,and controling the absolute freedom that is granted to us by universal life force . all aside we also have each charecter belief system and coping mechanism, poverty and corruption, and exaggerated cyber religion ☯️. That's exactly what it is though, my opinion. You're right, there are other aspects that make it good, but this one stood out for me. Just thought I'd make a video because I was bored!
