Great explanation of how the system works. I have a Banshee Mk.10 and I am absolutely loving it, I dropped my first 250 pound Hog with 1 shot. I have put everything from factory ammo to really hot loads of 200 gr. Nosler sporting hollow points traveling @1400-1450 FPS. without a hickup and the H1 buffer weight..easy quick double taps.
That's really cool I always assumed it had a proprietary upper receiver that worked with the barrel/BCG and I didn't know you could just buy those then build out the rest of your rifle/pistol around it... Great video brother keepem coming!!!
I bought a CMMG radial-delayed bolt carrier and barrel kit to build a new upper for my AR pistol. I figured I could shoot the cheaper 9mm.... Then it wasn't much cheaper.
Any system that can delay unlock will reduce port pop like you said but also reduce parts wear. M4's that open with much higher port pressure compared to a rifle length M16 break bolts, cam pins, extractors, extractor springs, and ejectors and ejector springs much sooner than an M16. The length of the gas system delays unlock until the pressure is reduced and thus the bolt velocity is reduced. With the radial, it appears that a good portion of the energy is imparted in forcing those lugs to rotate, which ends up being enough time to slow down the bolt dramatically, as well as keep more of the gas inside the barrel for longer. Would be paired well with an A5 system i'd bet.
Great video, I recently picked up the Banshee 300 MkGs. Anyway you can do a take down video of the bolt? Not all are comfortable with disassembling one, thanks.
Would the radial delayed blowback bolt/barrel kit work with a mil spec lower and CMMG 9mm ARC magazines, and if so, which CMMG upper would be the best to use?
@@OreGear is that a mil spec upper? The CMMG website mentions using an upper with an enlarged ejection port but doesn’t specify which of their uppers would work the best.
@@JWM850 the reason why I didn't buy a CMMG Guard was because they have that horrendous eyesore known as a forward assist. It's rarely needed on a standard AR, useless on a pistol caliber. I built my own using their bolt & barrel combo with a long discontinued Foxtrot Mike's build kit. The upper needs to have a cam pin relief & I took about 1/8" off the bottom of the ejection port to be sure it would eject cleanly. My build predates the release of the Banshee line and was about half the cost of what they're currently asking.
I may roll something like that into a Q&A style video because there’s not too much to say about it. Unless someone is into aircraft mechanics, they probably won’t find it terribly interesting.
@@OreGear as someone who’s only worked 16s this far, I would find it interesting to hear about 15s. I know 15 guys can’t help but brag about how great they are😉
FINALLY! A correct explanation by someone who actually fully comprehends how the system works!
My compliments!
Awesome breakdown on operation.
The very best explanation and demonstration of the CMMG radial delay blow back system so far
Thank you for taking the time to create this video. You really deserve more viewers. This was the best in depth analysis of the cmmg rdb system.
I appreciate it
This video was even better than CMMG’s video on the same subject. Thank you

Great video. Really appreciate your bolt in barrel demo
The banshee system is amazing. Definitely should be the go to pcc set up.

Yeah me too...
I've been all in on 10/22 Chargers lately.

I've been on the waiting list for months now lol
Great review man
Does this design work with a rifle round like the 5.56 or 308?
Great video, I recently picked up the Banshee 300 MkGs.
Anyway you can do a take down video of the bolt?
Not all are comfortable with disassembling one, thanks.
Disassembly is identical to a standard AR15 bolt. I could make a video, but there’s probably a hundred videos on it right now
Is the CMMG setup compatible with the Fostech Echo trigger.
The 9MM system is great. Have one with a tri lug obsidian 9 tucked.
Hey man what do you think about CMMG as a first AR? I was kinda looking at the Resolute 300 series in probably 5.56 and can't decide if I should bite
How does the discount code work with the invoice number thing on MI?
How is the recoil compared to GHM9? Which one of them has softer recoil?
It’s going to be pretty similar. Without shooting them side by side, it’d be hard to say.
Would the radial delayed blowback bolt/barrel kit work with a mil spec lower and CMMG 9mm ARC magazines, and if so, which CMMG upper would be the best to use?
That is what I’m doing with this build. We have a mil spec lower using the converted AR mags and a Sharps Bros upper.
@@OreGear is that a mil spec upper? The CMMG website mentions using an upper with an enlarged ejection port but doesn’t specify which of their uppers would work the best.
@@JWM850 take a look at the Aero Precision XL upper receiver. Works really well in my 9mm build with the CMMG rdb barrel and bolt kit.
