@CMMG Newton's 2nd and 3rd laws and greater bullet mass? Although that wouldn't apply specifically to 9mm, 10mm and .45 ACP do end up having more muzzle momentum than 5.56 NATO. In my experience with 3 PCCs and an 8" Banshee in 9mm, all of them had a softer recoil impulse than my AR-15 in 5.56. I will say that despite having half the barrel length and marginally less weight, the Banshee shoots the softest.
Love this AR pistol been having the 9mm 5 inch barrel for 1 year and a half and let me tell you that blowback ain’t no joke it shoots so fast it’s like a you shooting a automatic pistol never had a jam since I had it
Is the recoil delayed only by the friction of the bolt lugs’ rotation? As the round count increases won’t the friction become reduced causing closer to instant recoil? I think I’m misunderstanding something. Would anyone with better comprehension please explain this to me better? Thanks.
Think of it like like a screw, it takes longer to move because it has to rotate. Normal blowbacks are like a nail, moving straight back. Because it takes longer to move at first, the bullet has time to exit the barrel and the pressure drops causing less pressure to push the bolt back.
I think most rifle-round systems in the AR are all gass-blowback designs. Would be interesting if they could make a radial delayed that would survive the higher impact of the rifle rounds. :)
@@ShadowRhapsody81 I don’t think it’s a matter of surviving, the bolt on an AR is a very similar design after all, it’s probably more an issue of slowing down the bolt enough.
What weight buffer is recommended with a CMMG BCG for .45? Still 10oz or can you get away with a lighter one? Also, somewhat off-topic, are barrel nuts universal on the AR platform?
The barrel nut varies depending on what handguard you plan to use but the thread is standardized. The CMMG RDB system will use any AR barrel nut. I used the ones that came with my railed FF handguards.
It's not a gas key exactly. It is there to help keep the BCG aligned in the upper, and is blocked off on the front to prevent it from being inserted into a firearm with a gas tube.
@@christopherfisher128 comparing one type of system to another doesn't work m There is a video comparing mp5 with cmmg 9mm in slow mo and cmmg has significantly more recoil compared to mp5. Also even the roller delayed blowback in something like 762x51 kicks like a mule not as smooth as gas operated system. And radial delayed probably won't even work with 5.56mm only for pistol calibers
Depends on the verzion. The 9, 45, and 10mm are all bespoke top/bottom matching settups. The 5.7x28 though, they offer in both matching top/bottom that uses fn magazines, and a "conversion kit" with custom magazines that works with any mspec m4 lower.
@@ShadowRhapsody81 You can, for example, switch the 9mm upper between Glock-magazine and AR-magazine lowers, assuming the AR magazine has the 9mm follower/spring kit installed. Personally, I like using the AR lower better, as the magazines feed a bit more reliably.

None of these animations are correct. The bolt does not lock. The bolt immediately moves rearward, just like with a blowback system. It just moves slower until the carrier has fully moved back against the cam pin.
We didn't claim that it locks. It does rotate in the barrel extension as shown, and the barrel extension engages with the chamfered lugs of the bolt. That little bit of rotation is what delays the action.
@@CMMG You don't claim it locks. Everyone else that buys it and tries to explain it says that it locks. And all of the animations I've seen show it locking. They show the carrier moving before there is any movement in the bolt. I think everyone is taking an animation of an AR15 bolt and carrier, modifying the picture to show the wedge shape on what is normally the locking lugs, then playing the animation. Obviously you know it doesn't lock. You designed it. I am curious if you ever tried a gas delayed blowback system like on the HK P7? I know you've tried gas operated, but did you try gas delay?
Yeah but your fucking lead times are ridiculous! 20 weeks? I'm about ready to trade someone 2k small pistol primers for a 9mm 5 inch barrel and bolt kit.
I really thought there was something more to it, kinda disappointing TBH. Also shows how pathetic straight-blowback AR-pattern PCCs are in that the bolt doesn’t even rotate.

Did you get it already??

Have a BCG/Barrel kit on order since Dec thru OP... Waiting anxiously for the kit to be delivered to finish a build!
NICELY DONE ! So there is no need for a Gas Block and a GasTube when running this system, correct?
Correct. The bolt and chamber do all the work

Probably yes, afteral G3 and FAMAS work on a similar principle, but you would need a fluted chamber or waxed cases of the cartridges to work reliably.
