If the spring is longer, but used in the same space as a shorter spring, your rate isn't affected, but you have a higher preload. The relation between spring OD and number of coils, and multiple springs are a bit counter intuitive. However if you think about how the spring actually works, it make sense. There is an equation that I use sometimes, I actually have a parametric model I made, so I can just plug in the numbers in fusion 360, and it scales my model to whatever dimensions you input and also gives you the rate. The most interesting thing I found after making the model is that coil springs twist as they compress, which decreases the number of coils, but increases the diameter, which allows the rate of the spring to remain constant. I believe torsion springs have a similar effect. The equation is described here: www.engineersedge.com/spring_comp_calc_k.htm
Oktay Yildirim Try to explain that to our politics. We have been fighting for years to change our legislation, mostly about semi automatic .308 rifles for hunting. Meanwhile, we can own .300blk, 6.8spc, 6.5 grendel... Ah, 7.62x39 is legal, they consider it a “hunting” caliber.
IMHO They're not particularly incoherent or, even badly laid out. Since Congress isn't a panel of firearms experts nor such expertise a part of it's primary function, they've assigned the task of classifying and categorizing various firearms to the ATF while setting various levels of regulation to different types of weapons and suppressors. Now, the way they do this gives large amounts of bureaucratic power and lee-way to interpret the various legal definitions of weapons to ATF bureaucrats. And since this kind of cushy sinecure deskjob is exactly what gets staffed through nepotism not competence, it will invariably lead to a internally conflicting clusterfuck full of special exceptions made based on the current political atmosphere instead of facts and the intended purpose of the weapon.
I love my cetme G3, one of my sweetest rifles and can shoot 308 out of it all day long without shoulder fatigue. It is the 60 year old conversion with original wood grips and stock but has very little wear considering it's age and the amount of ammo I have put through it.

I definitely do like the looks of this gun and I would choose it as a secondary backup. Makes sense to delete the bayonet long when you consider who they're building the gun for. PVT Snuffiego *absolutely* is going to snap a bayonet on there if the lug is present and at all accessible. At which point, he's going to swing it around, and everyone will laugh until the bayonet comes flying off (because, without the forward attachment of the muzzle ring, it isn't actually fixed) and someone loses an eye.

In my experience, a heavier weapon helps mitigate recoil, whether it is a rifle or pistol. So maybe the slightly denser feel to it will mean more pleasant shooting?
I understand about the FAL having a different spring system, because of the Rat tail they have. I have several FAL,s in all configuration. But I also have several roller locks G3 and Cetmes. C,s And L,s I have G3,s with a similar collapsing stock and since the recoil spring doesn't actually go into the buttstock, but terminates there. Ian, is the locking wedge inside the bolt a different angle? that's the other thing that is usually changed on a roller delayed blowback when you change the barrel length.

Would this configuration have "tilt" issues as the recoil spring is not in line with the cartridge?
Works fine with H&K guns.
@@civicsr2cool True. I used a 7.62 G3 in the army, a thoroughly unpleasant gun to shoot (and clean). The HK21, on the other hand, was great fun.
i guess not,as the bolt runs on tracks anyway
@@pedrodaguiar5865 this isn't an H&K though
Pedro, I have an HK 91 with an SG1 stock /dual buffer. It’s comfortable to shoot now, but it sure does get dirty lol
I had no idea SBR were 922(r) exempt! Thank you!
Thank you , Ian .
the roller delayed guns never cease to amaze me... so simple yet effective... and this one is extremely sexy on top of that :)
That LC is awesome. Definitely something that I need in my life.
I wish I could afford one of these for a reference collection
What a beautiful rifle. 😮🙏
Both the L and LC.
Oh if only I had the money to afford one of marcolmar's gun
HMG has their CETME Ls for $999 going on now
@@cercaz still out of my financial range unfortunately, only reason I have my cetme 308 is because I got it for 175.
I would be interested in you taking both rifles and doing some test firing. Let's see low-light and night firing. Then swap the flash suppressors and repeat. If that weapon turns out anything like an M16 series weapon, the prong flash suppressor will have a lot less flash!
Great video. Take Care and be safe, John
Greetings from Spain !! I love when you review stuff from my country, we are not so prone to appreciate guns as you americans do! BTW, pronunciation is closer to Thet-meh than to set-mee!
@Alexander You are right! I forgot about that
Coolest gun ive seen in a minute .
This one looking AESTHETIC AF
The "move the spring up and forward" was likely taken from the AK. That's been a space saving feature since it's inception.
I love the way the weapon sits on the magazine. I doubt it is intended as a display feature but I appreciate the happy accident.
Man that gun is good looking, like a mix of Sturmgewehr, Stoner 63A and M41 Pulse Rifle
Always remwbered the instructor telling me about the AG3, always keep the gun on Safe at all times.
The stock of a MP5, the reciever of a FN FAL and a barrel of a STG44.
Easily one of the most gorgeous looking modern carbines. I want one
The fore-end looks similar to Magpul fore-ends, especially on the shotguns.
I was on holiday in Tenereffe and the airport security was armed with these
I enjoy the fact that you weighed your rifle.
I like how it started looking like FNC at the front.
This thing has like a cool retro modern look to it. Reminds me of the rifle from the Resistance series for the PS3, which was like a modernized WW2 era rifle
In my experience, a heavier weapon helps mitigate recoil, whether it is a rifle or pistol. So maybe the slightly denser feel to it will mean more pleasant shooting?
It slowly grows on me.
Love my black LC, love shooting it!
Have the undersides of those bolt carriers been modified to allow better travel through the magazine feed lips? Looks like it.
Huh. Getting some strong G36/G3 vibes here, the history of the CETME and HK really can't be denied
There isn't any need to change any of the parts like they did in the LC.. still scratching my head why...
I think this is my new favorite gun.
Olympic Arms AR pistol had to do something similar.
I found that out from a video from a great channel Forgotten Weapons.
3:12 I feel like auto exposure setting is wrongfully working in full... and it feels weird
What a good looking gun!
Reminds me of the Swedish AK5, FN FNC.
It would be really nice to see a video on the FNC btw :)
THIS is why I watch 'Forgotten Weapons'...I have NEVER heard of the CETME LC, until now...and, it LOOKS like one HELL of a BAD ASS weapon...now I just have to watch the video to see if it REALLY was BAD ASS, or, just LOOKED bad ass.......
Its actually used by spanish National Guard (Guardia Civil) but the "demostration series" that had HK style square handguard instead of the later FNC style handguard. Because demo series had no quality reductions.
“You expect a smaller rifle to be lighter. It’s certainly handy, but not necessarily lighter.” My exact feelings about my AK-V. Love that gun, but she’s a bit porky.
Steel stamp and plastirubber grips - the kind of gun the SA80 was meant to be.
SA80 was meant to be an AUG.
You can see the design heritage that lead (via a twisted path) to the MP5.
Mp5 actually was a 9mm Cetme prototype... First HK G3's were actually made on Cetme factories like the 7,62x39 versión that Cetme made for HK trials.
Such a cool looking rifle
I wonder if the charging handle extension was used in the origional model as wiggle room to tweak the bolt carrier mass during the design phase
I know there was the LV & LV/S rifles (i.e. a scoped variant of the standard CETME L), was there a scoped variant of the CETME LC rifle?
I don't like the style of rear sight, but overall LC looks really good. Big fan of that shade of green- speaks 'I'm a working tool, no nonsense'.
Logical evolution. Nice.
What a beautiful rifle.
That looks like an awesome competitor to the M4. Needs a railed handguard though.
From an engineering standpoint, I like the LC bolt carrier better; it might be a bit more difficult to machine (not entirely certain), but it's certainly more compact.
Probably a toss up. That tail piece doesn't have to be milled out so that saves one step.
@Jona v.K which is fitting, since the G3 family traces its history back to the CETME Modelo 58; Just keeping it all in the family.
GOD WHY DOES THAT GUN LOOK SO GOOD?!
Ian, is the locking wedge inside the bolt a different angle? that's the other thing that is usually changed on a roller delayed blowback when you change the barrel length.
And the video ends with 3 minutes of Ian bragging about his parts kit.
I'm not even mad. :D
Not a bad looking rifle. AR mags, and 5.56 are nice. But chop the sights off and put a rail on top. Use AK or AR grips. and a few other minor touches and that would be a keeper.
Could you just imagine what is like to play with unique firearms all day as your job? I know there's a lot more to the content than just that, but still. Gun Jesus is God.
Thanks for the info. I have a the standard one, Runs good.
I am not sure why it hasn't struck me before; these are the guns which the rifle and carbine in 'Crysis 2' are based on aren't they? There is something about the shape of the trigger guard that finally made the penny drop!
Gorgeous weapon system
That is the most Toy looking deadly weapon I have ever seen
