- Firearms generally have a very specific use in mind...and that is absolutely the case today...where we look at the Ruger PC Caribine 19116 model in its first trip to the range. I put the first 100 rounds through the PC Carbine to see how it performs and what my impressions are of this firearm. Future videos will go into detail with additional field use and buildout options.

Got my Ruger PCC from a dealer for a great price, then put in the Tandemkross extractor, heavier recoil spring and retainer clip, buffer plate, and trigger. Took everything apart and cleaned thoroughly - got out all the factory grease and oil. Also put a Discovery LPVO on it. My range session with 50 rounds of 115gr FMJ went without any issues. The trigger feels lighter and virtually no travel. Took two shots to get sighted in, then bug hole groups at 25 yards using a rest. Frankly, better accuracy than I expected. A fun rifle that won't break the bank.
Interesting to see and hear that some have reliability issues. I purchased one a year ago as a porch gun for our homestead in the Montana mountains. We’ve run easily 1000 rounds of a mix of ammo with the Ruger mag and we’ve had 0 malfunctions. Haven’t done a thing to it. Just ran it out of the box. It’s become my favorite little ranch rifle. That’s our experience… for whatever it’s worth.
exactly the same for me, even with PSA and korean glock clone mags.
once I switched to glock mags haven't had one single FTE, I'll definitely be upgrading to the mcarbo ejector
I have a PC Carbine and the extractor is the soft spot on this model. I replaced the extractor and pins from Mcarbo and she been perfect since.
Agree, i got the same problem with my PC carbine, changed it to Tandemkross eagle tallon, works like a charm after that.
I just got mine love shooting it but yes 3 failer to extract the casing
@@LuisCastillo-xb7oy Mcarbo extracter is so much better than the original
@@sbenoit540 ok just orderd the extractor, pins ,shock buffer, recoil retainer and flat trigger upgrade cant wait
@@LuisCastillo-xb7oy Sweet!
I got the one with the standard polymer front grip, which I actually prefer. The little rifle fits and so far performs flawless. Typical Ruger.
🇺🇸⚔️🍕🍺👍
A couple of years ago after about 500 rounds my ejection started getting sluggish so I installed an ejector and pins from Mcarbo and its been flawless ever since.
I have the Ruger PC carbine and the Beretta CX4 storm. Both are great guns. Keeping them both.
I tried my uncles pc carbine and I gotta say I fell in love. Super smooth, super accurate. Super comfortable. Thinking about trading in my mini 14 for one
I am definitely enjoying it. It's a great rifle... It's been fantastic
I was taught to clean my brand new fire arm before I range day it. Sometimes they either load it up with oil and gunks quick with dirty ammo, or not enough oil. Both can cause miss-feed/extraction. I do it every time and I’ve never had a miss feed/extraction. Really hope it’s not a manufacturing issue cause I’m looking at one. Lol
I personally found that with my PCC tactical failure to eject or feed came from the front bolt holding the receiver to the upper loosening up. I got home tightened the bolts on the receiver, and I haven’t had a problem since.
Great video.
Once I added a good red dot…I was placing hits almost over each other once zeroed in.
I started working on a red-dot with the PC Carbine...it's awesome...I am very happy with the results
Good video, being somewhat of a novice myself it's good to see and hear someone who has many of the same issues as me. I'm pretty sure I'll be picking one up soon. I like the idea of not having to have different types of ammo to deal with. Keep it up.
Thanks... Yes that's why I try to illustrate the things I think about or what I'm contending with... I figure many people are feeling their way through these decisions in a similar fashion. Hope I helped!
This gun was the start of my trip down what I call, "the lego gun highway".🤣🤣🤣 Which is basically anything with a forward m-lok rail shroud like it. This sucker is best fitted with a bipod and shot either from a bench or prone. She is heavy, but man she is accurate as heck and more fun than spending this much $$$ putting lead into dirt should be.🤣
My 10 year old granddaughter and I went to the range a couple of weeks ago and after she shot the .22’s, she asked if she could shoot the PC. Well, she put 200 rounds through it in nothing flat and it performed great. The only problem was my thumb was killing me from loading mags for her🤣
It's an awesome rifle...I love it...really great to hear your granddaughter shot it well!
Gotta get a Maglula, pard. Like Sootch says: "Saves our thumbs." 😉
1st 50 rounds with Federal 115 gr were flawless. Second 50 with Remington 115 gr (2) FTE's. Ammo, break-in or extractor, time will tell. 1 to 4 LPVO up top & offset red dot (sweet). Two Ruger, 15 round mags have "exploded" when hitting the concrete @ the range (I would expect more from Ruger).
Great video, really enjoyed it. I love my two PC carbines. Just got a Holsun 510C reflex optic & will test this week. Also upgraded all pins, ejector etc to MCarbo parts works alot more reliable than before which minimizes the ejector malfunctions
How has the 510C treated you? I'm definitely eyeballing it
@@OuterLimitless2the 510 is tried and true. It’s a perfect fit for PCCs, I have zero complaints with the two I have. Also, my friend who shoots 3 gun competitively, uses one on his PCC.
MY RUGER PC CHASSIS CARBINE UPGRADES: ->all MCARBO upgrades inside and out ->TAMDEMKROSS recoil spring ->MAGPUL QD sling, 1/4" sling, MBUS sights, pistol grip ->TACCOM Delrin mag well extender, ambi. lever style safety (replaces button safety) ->HOLOSUN AEMS circle/dot sight
NOW I'm ready for Steel Challenge competition. BTW, I have NEVER had a failure with ANY kind of ammo or casing metal in 1,600 rounds.
Knives and guns 👌👍✌️
My charger runs like a champ!
Great guns...I love mine. Glock mag seems to be more reliable for mine. Thanks for watching!
Mcarbo has the internal upgrades. I spend about $100 for a 500% upgrade.
You need the extractor , bolt pins & BlowBack pillow thing.
This rife is a dirty beast after you replace the extractor.
It CAN NOT miss fire.
Thos failure to feed issues brings back bad memories of the 10/22🤣
good stuff. makes me want to go out shooting again soon. lol
Heck yeah! This PC Carbine has been awesome...I really do like it!
I had four or five malfunctions with the first 100 rounds (block and mayoral mags w fmj cartridges just like you were using). But I haven't had any more malfunctions over the subsequent 200 rounds. That being said if issues crop up again the mcarbo upgrades will be in this guns future.
For being a novice you did well. May I suggest that you bench fire using a sandbag for stability try not to rush the shot
I have done some bench shooting. Mostly with bipod...less the sandbag, but I would definitely have the ability to shoot from the bags in the future. I can see it would certainly be a very stable platform to work from. Thanks for the advice!
Try Federal American 124 grain ammunition. The lighter 115 grain seem to cause FTF in PCC platforms.
Thank you for saying that...I was totally going to go down that road and try a higher grain count. Fantastic comment and I appreciate it!
I've put 200 rounds of Sellier & Bellot 124 through mine. I've had 4 FTE's so far. I've just changed the recoil spring. If it continues to malfunction, my next step is the extractor.
Try swapping the mag adapter to Glock mags - mine is 100% with Glock mags.
Same
Mine runs 100 percent with the standard mags and I have a bunch of them super reliable and I have a Glock just honestly never switched because I bought the gun it came with 3 mags and never had a single issue over 2k rounds . I own like 10 of the standard SR mags
I got the 40 smith and Wesson version of the PC carbine I trust it with my life
Also mine doesn't have that hand guard just the standard fluted no m lock
I use Glock mags run like a champ little heavy 16 inch barrel
Aftermarket Tandemkross extractor will help.
I need to do something! This is foolish if it fails to eject 3% of the time!
@@OuterLimitless2 I started with about 2 failures every 3 clips.
Change the extractor made by mcarbo and you won't have that issue of ejection or feed issue
I am sorry if i missed the answers to these questions in the video. What ammo are you using, is the gun lubed (it should work without lube, but if whatever lube is in there is gummy in the colder weather, that might slow things down), did you happen to notice if it was always on a the last round of the mag, and is the gun used and/or do you know when it was manufactured? Supposedly the first iterations of the PC carbine had a bad extractor. I don't know if that carries over to when they made the model you are using. There is obviously something going wrong with the cycle of operations around the extraction/ejection/cocking cycle. Did you happen to notice if it was always on a the last round of the mag?
The big stick makes it fun with over 30 shots.
I would need pre-ban...
50 rd Korean drums and Beta C mags with a binary.
Rock N Roll!!!!
My Ruger has approximately 800 rounds through it using glock mags with zero malfunctions. However my father's Ruger does have feeding issues even with Glock mags. Not sure why....
Wow, ran about 800 rounds in it with zero failures to feed. Using the Glock mags with S&B.
In gonna switch to Glock mags very soon
Maybe it in broken in? I never had issues with mine jamming
I need to get out and hit the range again and burn 100 rounds with my PC.
What weapon light are you running?
I have the olight GL M for now. Light plus laser is a cool combo
@@OuterLimitless2
Wow…I have the same light. I recognized the light mount on your PC. I use it on my BB rifle for fun.
Thanks. I want one. The question is, which model? There are so many!
I suggest it depends on your local laws. I would get the pistol grip, collapsible stock, and threaded barrel with max capacity if you can.
I love the classic look of mine. It is bone stock, using Glock mags.
I got a 19117
Try the Glock Mags and hopefully that will help you with the jams
I will likely be switching to Glock Mags. Thanks for the tip!
Likely not the mags because I own 12 SR 40 mags and they have never failed in my PC carbine all stock about 1500 rounds of 40 smith and Wesson of all different fmj and hollow points I love it man it's my home defense I have been shooting my pistols so much I haven't shot it about 3 months I'm taking it out ASAP! Mine also dosent have the m lock style rail just the standard fluted barrel that's badass!
Being low at 10 m is correct if it has been factory zeroed for a longer range. You dropped one shot the group was good.
does anyone know if Ruger p85,P95 mags work ?
It aint the extractor...either ammo or not cleaned and lubed prior.....possibly magazine....and or break in.
Thanks
Great grouping with only the iron sights
Thanks! I'm very much a novice but improving every day!
@@OuterLimitless2 where would you recommend buying online for shipment to my local store?
@@stephenwilder3525 I guess it kinda depends on who stocks these and will ship to which states. I would do your research to make sure the company is reputable but also ensure they don't have any strange restrictions
@@OuterLimitless2 thnx
These guns are very accurate.
Security 9 mags suck in the ruger pcc
Well get a selection of mags, ammo, and do a proper test. I have mine in the MAGPUL stock and 2k rounds with zero jams running MAGPUL G19 magazines 😎
Nice jacket. What is it?
ruclips.net/video/qQC1Xg-HjzA/видео.html
Hope that helps
what spacers did you use!? thanks
Did you see my video about the sling adapter? That shows you how I have this set up currently
@@OuterLimitless2 yes, watched all the vids you have of your pc. thanks!!!
@@vomsteezy92 awesome! I hope it helped!
Can plus-p be used in this rifle??
I'm not certain... Wish I could help!
Thanks for looking into it.....
I believe so, you’ll have to Google it.
Wish they made this in a lever or bolt action.
A lever gun that feeds out of a tube requires flat nose bullets because they are stacked on top of each other. It would have to be a magazine fed lever gun because the round nose bullets might explode in a tube magazine.
@@Mike-xi4zt Yes you are right, we of experience realize this but many do not. Bolt action rifles can be run very fast for those of us who grew up using them. The reliability factor is highly valued by many of us, if the gun is quality built.
what jacket is that
ruclips.net/video/qQC1Xg-HjzA/видео.html
Helikon Gunfighter
You should switch to a glock magazine
Its great until you slam a magazine in too hard and accidentally bend the extractor. Its a simple 20 dollar fix than its back to being great again.
It runs better with Glock mags.
Considered pistol-caliber long guns in general based on the value and convenience of having rifles and pistols shooting the same ammunition and this Ruger specifically because it's a good brand until I realized they're all mainly only fun, range plinkers I wouldn't go to battle with.
I don't know if this would be a battle rifle, but man it's sweet. To me it would make a great bug out option for general needs...self defense, hunting. Flexible and versatile being a takedown model. I do like it.
@@OuterLimitless2 Glad you're happy with it. Glock mag adapter is big.
I would bet my life with this in a self defense situation.
Common problem failure to feed with this rifle. Very frustrating. I ve tried almost everything. Next is hot loads . If that doesn’t work it’s going up for sale.
Mine seems to be breaking in. I'm experiencing with 124 grain vs the 115 I was running.
Have you got the pc fixed or is it still giving you problems?
Are you sure n Maine? Oregon? I’m in Colorado and just ordered the 7 with threaded barrel
9 mm hunting????
Flectern camo? where did you get that jacket?
