Thank you for these helpful videos! I just installed the LaserGRBL and I'm patiently waiting for my engraver machine to arrive :D I love your laugh btw
On light burn you can adjust brightness and contrast, I accidently discovered this... click on the picture, then right click. A window will pop up and near the bottom it will say "adjust picture." Click on that and rhe adjustments can be made there
I'm not sure you can compare them: Laser GRBL is just to convert a picture or anything else and engrave with a laser. You cannot draw with this software. From what I know LightBurn is not free...
I’m very new to engraving. I literally know nothing. I just want to engrave words on bamboo candle tops. Is there something for that! I currently have lightburn. I don’t know what to do. Will I be able to even do this?
@@brakthehun thank you. I’m trying to engrave but it’s not doing anything. Nothing is showing up on my candle tops. Is there a dummies for lightburn 🤦🏾♀️
Nice video! I’m new to engraving and still learning my machine…Can you tell me how to keep the transversal lines from engraving?? I have read some suggestions but they are just too detailed for a beginner like me! I have the Ortur Laser Master 2 using both Lightburn and Lasergrbl.
@@brakthehun that’s correct! Between the moves in the white space, if I’m engraving words, there are lines. In addition , around an object, there is often a shaded border.
@@brakthehun yes, after about 30-45 seconds which I believe is the default settings. Weird part, I don’t recall this happening initially. I’ve only had my laser for about 3 months and I am still very much a beginner still learning.
I've converted an old unused 3D printer to a small laser engraver using a diode laser, but i'm having issues getting LaserGRBL to recognize it. I can connect and burn with it using Lightburn, but LaserGRBL times out every time, it detects it's connected to COM3 so I know it can at least detect it's presence. The printer runs a variant of Marlin so i've set that in LaserGRBL but have had no luck at all.
Hey Tony I am really enjoying your videos, but I am having issues when I go to engrave anything it comes out in reverse, I have tried to read on how to fix it and it is just all too confusing, do you have a video that shows how to change settings on LaserGRBL to where it won't do that?, I can normally figure things out pretty well but this program has me so confused. Thanks for any help.
@amanieric it is but I did look at grbl and ran the test version of lightburn the difference between them is night and day and if your not interested in the upgrades after a year which I cannot figure out them to be worthwhile it's a 1 off and lightburn offers more than grbl. Just my observations so far.
@@michaelwillson6847 Yeah, the price is the only issue. I'm yet to understand how the updates thing works. If I'm satisfied with the current functionalities of it do I even need to buy the updates or without updates I can't be able to use it
good video. I don't version you were using for this demo (probably 09.20 or 24). I believe in 1.0 the adjustment feature was added. Pick the photo and RIGHT MOUSE and pick "ADJUST IMAGE"
I don't quite understand all the functions for lightburn and I don't know how to open gcode files to burn. So I stick with lasergrbl and use easel for all the settings. Lasergrbl can see my gcodes that I generated.
Thank you thank you. I just got a laser. And your vids are straight forward. THANKS for the comparison.
Thank you for these helpful videos! I just installed the LaserGRBL and I'm patiently waiting for my engraver machine to arrive :D I love your laugh btw
You can adjust brightness, contrast, and much more in Lightburn under the tools drop down then adjust image, same place the trace feature is.
Great video thanks I will use both. I like light-burn as a works space.
You have a way to adjust the brightness, contrast ... right click on image, adjust image . And you have more options
So......I still need both
Great video, a lot of effort has gone into making it. Thanks
Hello, thanks for the video. Is it possible to make grids to test diferent materials on LaserGRBL?
I believe there are files.
I just try things but that's OK.
@@brakthehun thank you, anyways

Excellent comparison, I mean once you mentioned lightburn is $40 I was decided 😅 thanks
GREAT JOB ON THE VIDEO
It’s now $60
Why not use Shape Properties for images? Gamma, Brightness, Contrast, Enhance and others are there
I was not aware. That is useful. Thank you.
Hello - How to reset GRBL configurations (My setup for my Sculpfun S9 is wrong)
I think you messed some people up when you started going to Light burn and talking about Lasergrbl functions.
Another thing to add is that Lightburn only allows you to license 2 computers
I'm not sure you can compare them:
Laser GRBL is just to convert a picture or anything else and engrave with a laser. You cannot draw with this software.
From what I know LightBurn is not free...
Agreed. They can both stream to grbl controllers. They are both for lasers,, but they are very much used for different things.

How much difference is there in the software from 2021 to the 2023 version?
Not too much. They added some infill options for tracing and some presets for popular brands.

cant i use it on arduino, or deferent motherboard.. diode module laser or co2....thx
There are many boards you can run GRBL on.
You can use any of these boards to control a diode or a CO2 with almost all GRBL boards.

Do these softwares also work on windows 11?
