As a newbie to laser etching I am very excited to try your custom buttons because my laser moves to the right side and very close to the edge to begin burning. I will be checking back fairly often. Thank you very much!
Hey, thanks Tony! Really great of you to share your work and skills with us. It's especially helpful to people like me who are starting out. Appreciate it!
Thank-you. My wife received her machine and software this week and has been struggling with lining stuff up. This has solved that issue first time. For those struggling with the import - just right click the toolbar and choose import - ignore the bit in the video where an installer is run
Thank you for offering your work for everyone's benefit. I hope this helps: Save a lot of otherwise crucial steps by abandoning the imperial system altogether. Measure everything in cm and mm so that all you need to do is move decimal points in your head. It also adds the benefit of instantly knowing **exactly** fractional increments, as in .33, .5, etc. Best of luck. Thanks again. Edit: Works almost perfectly with Atomstack A5 Pro. Just be sure the low power dot turns off after it goes home. I had to turn it off with the built in on/off button (the larger bulb icon). Your buttons are a BIG help. I was getting ready for Lightburn's camera overlay. Not any more. Also, no need for the Windows (10) install procedure. Just add them with the right-click procedure used with the additional included buttons.
Hello Tony! Your video has been a great help to me. I've just started to learn about navigating around lasergrbl and was stuck. Your custom buttons will be a fantastic help. Thanks - Andy in Victoria Australia.
Thanks a lot ... I found the way to add custom buttons ---- To install custom buttons just download this file, start LaserGRBL, right click in custom button area, select “import” from menu, and select the downloaded file. you don't need to extract this file.
Thank you Tony, this will really help. I just got my machine and was thinking, "there has to be an easier way to check this..." and then I found your video! Thanks again!
Im interested in your buttons, and I was wondering if your next project would be to add a algorythim to have an option for inches or mm's. That is the only reason I don't use LaserGRBL exclusively. Thanks for the buttons.
@@dalestone6856 cant remember, this was 5 months ago that i commented that. It was somewhere in the video or description though because i have them now.
Thank you for the video. This looks like a great solution. I was attempting to download your custom buttons, it is showing (all of the links) that it's only 18kb, and 7-zip is saying it cannot read it because it is not an "archived" document. Didn't know what I was doing wrong in getting those files so I can add them. Regardless, thank you so much for taking the time and doing all of that work, plus sharing it.
Hi, you can’t open the file or unzip it. You have to import it into lasergrbl. Right click at the bottom where the existing buttons are and choose import.
Thanks. You are the only one who knows how to do this. Thanks again. Oh, so the picture size is of not real value. Only the size or area of the wood or item you are engraving. Correct? Thanks again
Hi your video is so clear that what i needed! Thank you so much. Could you share me file of custom buttons or could let me know where I can download the file? Thank you!❤
Tony, Thank you for the great video. Question: When I turn my laser on to find my centering, why does the laser come on FULL POWER and starts to burn? Isn't it suppose to come on at low power so it doesn't burn an image around your project and now I've wrecked my project I haven't even started to engrave yet.
That was awesome explanation. Could I get the buttons file please. I’m have a big issue I suppose. I need to define the working area ( I don’t want my machine to crush at the edges). Any proposal??
The best way to prevent edge crushing to install limit switches. Alternatively, you can set your work area smaller than the actual work area of the machine. I have a machine that is 30" X 30". I am using a 24" x 24" sheet of MDF as the waste board and set the machine work area to 24" x 24". As long as I don't do something stupid like click the homing button to see what that does;😏 I shouldn't have any edge crashing.
I have the Atomstack S20 , on the controller i have the center and run contour options but i encountered a strange bug where the machine tried to cut after traveling about 10 cm offset from where it did the contour . Fortunately it was a linear cut attempt and nothing was ruined . The bug was reproductible but i put it on the fact that i feeded GRBL a single drawed line in a bigger white bitmap .
Hi Tony, Really interesting video, thank you, easy to understand. I'm trying to download the button program, however, it's saying that it's not a valid archive, I've downloaded it several times but to no avail. I'm running Win 10 Home, 64 bit. Are you able to shed any light on it, please? Thank you. 👍
Hi Tony, I am really learning a lot by watching this video, however when I went to do my first engrave/burn it came out backwards like it mirrored itself, I have tried to research this issue and I am not seeing alot on it, the only thing I have found are articles on how to configure laserGRBL... well needless to say I can't make heads or tails of it, do you know how to fix this issue or what I need to do?
Hello Tony,i own a Falcon2 22W laser. I want to cut a drawing i made in Autocad. I made a PDF bij printing. Then i go to Inkscape to convert this PDF to an SVG. Then i put this SVG into LaserGRBL. Each time i try i become an offset on the X axe of 237 mm and on the Y axe of - 82 mm. Do you have a solution to fix this problem? Iam looking forward to your responce. Best regard, Theo
I'm confused with this entire video because the " set zero point (G92) button is right there... the globe with the location tic button. So basically move your laser to where you want it using the arrows on the left side, then lock in your zero point by pressing that globe button. No?
Hi, a great video. I'm new to laser engraving and downloaded your custom button file but it isn't a .exe file it's just a .gz file so it won't open and run for me. Can you please explain how I get those buttons into my Lasergrble please. Thanks Martin
I have a question. so you know how in Lazar grbl there’s a rectangle bounding box is there anyway that let’s say I imported an SVG image of a star that the laser would go on low power and trace out that star so I know exactly where it would be when I engrave it? Or could you make a button like that because I have no clue how to do this stuff. Also I love this video I subscribed and gave it a thumbs up.Also is there a way to make a button that would put a dot at the bottom center top center middle left center and middle right center kind of like a plus sign. to help with aligning.
Hi Tony, great video. I have an Ortur laser master 2 pro and use LaserGRBL. I have placed my image on Laser GRBL and I have one letter that is out of bounds so it won't engrave that letter. I need to move my image to the left so that all letters are within the engraving area. How do I do this? Thanks much for your help. Tim
thanks Tony. Thats a really cool program this is sure to make this all alot easier. I definitely want to keep up with your videos so you have a new subscriber now. By the way how would I go about making a grid for my work area like the one you have? I am using LaserGRBL as well with an Atomstack A5 Pro engraver. Thanks in advance.
Thank you for the info, I would like to know how to enter my size, but I want to be able to change the second size, to what I want ,instead of it automatically entering a proportional size.
After you edit your image and click next the re are X & Y image size boxes. Unselect the "LOCK" and you can set individual X & Y values. Hope this isn't too late to solve your problem,
