I have to agree with the rest of the comments. A complete novice to laser engraving and most of the tutorials assume that you are an expert with computers and I was getting swamped. This is exactly what I need and far superior to anything else I have watched, thank you.

I have watched so many Lightburn videos and I keep getting lost. Then I watched one where the tutor had changed his cursor by adding a bright yellow highlighter around it and finally I was able to follow all the moves for the first time. Especially, as you point out, the menus can be moved anywhere you want, by the time I found the cursor it was moving somewhere else. My old eyes and old brain need all the help I can get if I’m going to learn this thing. I’m glad I found your playlist. I’m going to go thru the list in order and not get confused by someone else’s way of doing things. Perhaps I will manage to create a few gifts this Christmas.

Hands down the best 101 video that I've seen! Including the videos from the "company". I appreciate all of the people out there making videos to help us out, however this one really should be at the top for those of us who are beginning. I learned more during this video than I did in hours of watching other videos.

I’ve watched nearly a dozen of your videos over the last few days, since I received my xTool D1. I can’t believe the time and patience you’ve put into doing all of your tutorials. I am absolutely amazed and very very greatful of everything you’ve put together in your store and forum. I did my very first laser burn last night for my fiancé of the 3 cats for Mother’s Day and she absolutely loved it. Can’t thank you enough Rich. Very appreciated.

I’ve had my laser for two years and I immediately paid for light burn because everyone said it was the best. But I’ve been so frustrated with different things for instance I would bring an image in trace it to see if the line at the bottom was going to burn into the image, then go into gimp to crop it then export back to light burn. All I’m saying is I’ve learned more in 30 minutes than I did in two years. I’ve subscribed to the channel and will watching more videos and this one over again

I have to agree with everyone. Best videos I've seen. So many have loud music, they don't pronounce words clearly, or blasting through it like everyone knew what the speaker was doing. It was a perfect speed, covered things without blasting you with too many options. I'm hooked. I can't wait to see the rest. I'm intrigued by the art library. I have so many designs now and now nice way to find them. So off I go. THANKS a million!

This video is amazing, I am so glad I found it on RUclips, I've had my laser for almost a year and have learned more watching these videos than I have in almost a year of watching others. Thank you.
Quick question on the line and fill selection is there any way to keep the line after fill setting to something slower at all times, mine defaults to 6000 mm everytime, I ask this knowing that I can change it from 6000 mm to what I want, but sometimes I forget to and after a a fine fill it goes wild and jostles the whole laser. Thanks again.

Thank you Rick! I really appreciate the comments! ✔ To your question... Yes Sir, you can. Draw a square, and then on the Cuts / Layers tab, double click the layer to bring up the cut settings editor. Enter the default speed and power that you always want to start at, and then at the bottom of the window, click the box that says, Make Default for All. Hope that helps you!

OMG finally :-) i found someone who explains things that a new person can work out. My husband brought my a laser cutter last year in April but its been sitting their doing nothing because i couldn't work out how to use Lightburn or even the laser cutter and i contacted the company i brought my machine from for help and they sent me to their closed fakebook group and their youtube channel and gave me a book to download to read. Well none of that helped me i thought it was so i did my first cut and the first cut tuned out wasn't cutting and then when it did looked horrible and i gave up because all their info i couldn't work out.
But you have made it so i can understand and now i am off to have a play with lightburn and have some fun Thank you

This is the BEST video. I am a newbie and still have so much to learn, but you have taught me so much already in this video alone. I will defiantly be following and watching for more of your videos !

This was sooooo helpful. Now I can buy Lightburn and know I won’t have such a high learning curve. Thank you so much for going slow. Thanks also for sharing.

This is incredibly clear and straightforward, thanks very much. Now I'm going to look for a video in your pile that talks to line versus offset fill and raster versus screen fills. But this was by far the best starting point i have found with light burn

First off, great tutorial video! The sales person I spoke to seemed to think I needed Corel for the graphics side and light burn to control the laser functions, so I bought both programs. Had I caught your video 24 hours ago I could have saved $$$. Thanks again for the video!

I'm only halfway though and wow what a awesome video. I'm amazed at how powerful some of these software programs are but basically zero information on how to use it. Lightburn should pay to have you provide this information

    Thanks for your video.
I'm a scrollsaw wood crafter, and last year I strayed onto the dark side and bought a laserpecker as I often get asked if I can engrave some of my work, I went for it mainly because I wouldn't need to learn to computer 🤣
I've just ordered an atomstack x7pro, and I'm now feeling less alarmed about being able to use it when it arrives as I can see similarities between lightburn and inkscape which I have bumbled around over the years.
Expect I'll be checking back in a lot when it arrives, thanks 😊

I’m new to laser and Lightburn, but I’m not totally new to graphic design software. I think I saw the guy making the acrylic for the light base. I was definitely talking to him through the screen while he was doing that! 😂 I’m no pro, so I’ll be following along with your Lightburn series. That’s for teaching this in a way that’s logical to me. 😊
