Hey Rich, You truly are the best! When you get into something like lasers , its a very specific interest and It not like you can just go down to your local laser shop and find a community to learn from or to resolve issues etc. For this reason your channel is invaluable, and the fact that you actually respond to us all is just amazing!!! Thankyou !
Just started watching while waiting for my laser. You said you were at IBM in the 70s in the PC division. More than likely you knew people my dad worked with or even worked with him. Crazy small world.
Thank you for all you do..I registered earlier today and look forward to dive right in; unfortunately I can't do much during the week because there is a place I have to go to that keeps my paychecks lol...

Thanks for the video, i saw that your mode selection in lightburn is totally different from mine. Mine only has Line, Fill and Offset.. Do you perhaps know how i can add more modes to my lightburn. I'm using Algolaser DIY KIT 10W..
Rich i have tried from several of your videos to down load and print the Lightburn shortcut sheet. Whether I print regular or mirrored it prints in reverse. How can I get a clean readable copy? Thanks.

Rich, too new to ask intelligent questions yet, so I will spend my time absorbing what you are showing, and thanks again for all the time and effort you have expended in helping others. Just retired as well and looking forward to Laser usage and CNC as well.
A very succinct tutorial on Lightburn libraries. As usual Rich you've captured the essence of the subject masterfully. I believe you are by far the best Lightburn educator on RUclips. The LHG forums are a really great resource for info too. I check it out frequently and try to answer questions whenever I have something to add. Thanks for the video!
Thank you for doing this video explanation. And appreciate how genuinely patient you are in explaining the what and why along with the important HOW. Keep the excellent work up. I'm going to put to use everything you explained.
Thanks for all of the great information. I went to download the cut & engrave library for my laser engravers but couldn't find them (Creality Falcon 10W, Two Trees 5W). When I hit the lottery I'll be able to buy a higher end laser.
Hi rich. Looking at your forum I notice you say the first Atom stack cut file library is not suitable for the M50. Well I have an A5 M50 Pro but it's fitted with a B40 (5.5) watt laser. Which cut file library should I use?
Thanks very much Rich!! Minstrels will write songs about you! I'm 5 days into my Laser CNC journey and feel like you just teleported me about a year down the road! If there was a Mount Rushmore of Laser expertise....you'd be on there! I have a Jinsoku LC-60 A (Sainsmart) which seems to be an excellent machine for the money (time will tell) and there's not much on the forum re: Sainsmart products so I may be able to start a post re: those machines. But its effectively the same power as the Ortur Laser Master Pro...5.5 watt output. Hopefully I can add some value! Thanks again!
@@TheLouisianaHobbyGuy hey Rich! It is a 5.5 watt on the LC60 A…just curious if you’re planning a review of that unit? Seems to be great so far, but one issue that you might be able to point me in the right direction….when I engrave a ‘grid’ or a ‘template outline’ on my spoil board, the ‘Y’ axis lines are perfect, but ‘X’ axis lines have a little up and down irregularity?? Not wavy, more like short vectors that subtly change direction ( +\- like 0.5 mm) not wildly off but has to be a way to tweak? All my images and graphics seem to be perfect and unaffected, but weird why ‘X’ axis straight lines aren’t straight. Thanks in advance for giving this a read! And for your amazing channel/forum/assistance!! Best, John
@@johnsherwood3213 The only thing I can think of would be a hardware issue. I don't see any eccentric nuts on mine so I’m at a loss on what it could be. I’m not having that problem at all.
If the material name is a manufacturer for the libraries on the forum, they are the manufacturer suggested settings converted to a library for Lightburn by me.
@@TheLouisianaHobbyGuy Yes, thank you, but I may have misunderstood. I want your help in choosing the right device for my device SCULPFUN S30 Pro. Because my language is very bad, and I use Google Translate. I searched the forum and got tired, but I did not find the material settings. I hope you send me a link that will make things easier for me. Thank you again.
New Subscriber here, also to the Forum, So glad I have found your channel, as I am new to lightburn, and Lasers in general. But I have so many questions, Like i was wondering why you cannot set different materials and their settings etc, and found your video which explained it clearly and precisely, which i respect, 3 videos so far and i have learnt more than any other of the lightburn videos out there. You sure seem to be a fountain of knowledge. And will save this being just another hobby that goes by the wayside through boredom, with what seems like endless possibilities for projects and ideas. So Thank You.
Wow! Thanks so much for that! I created this channel to help a few friends and it's grown into a full time hobby for me. So many people drop out of the hobby before really understanding all of the possibilities and the joy it brings! It's a good feeling to know that my simple lessons have made tens of thousands of people happy with the gifts they received from Makers like you! For some, it's even lifechanging! Thanks for the sub! And welcome to the obsession! 🤪
Newbee here. You are awesome. Wish I had found your information a month ago but your information is so helpful, Just can't say enough. Great that you explain in such detail and that you do it live. How about that sharing of the Libraries etc. So cool! Thank you!
Thank you for putting this together - I've been using my ownself-built materials library for a while. This video gave me the push I needed to start using the art library too!
Unrelated, but your comment about working for IBM in the late 70s jarred some memories. I operated many of the IBM machines in the early 70s (sorters, interpreters, reproducers, 407 accounting machine, etc. and punched/verified 1000s upon 1000s of Hollerith cards. Probably few of us left that knew what those holes meant. :)
Can you imagine seeing a modern cellphone back then Wayne? It amazes me how many things from Star Trek and the Jetson's have become reality in our lifetime! I saw they just launched a Jetson's like drone car recently!
@@TheLouisianaHobbyGuy And Dick Tracy's watch. Our shipboard hi-tech was a Sperry/Univac 1500 with a teletype as a keyboard, and IBM keypunch/verify machines. 90% of my work on the keypunch was using the numeric keys, so my muscle memory still reverts back to the placement of those keys which are reversed from today's numeric keypad on the keyboards. It messes with my brain. Oh well... I'll stop waxing nostalgic. I really appreciate your videos. I have an Aufero Laser 1 on its way and want to learn as much as I can before it gets here and this old brain needs your kind of detailed explanations.

I just finished it Doug, but it will only be free to owners of the LaserMATIC. I still have to work out the distribution with the owner of Roly Automation.
Thanks for sharing your years of knowledge and hard work. I just got my new xtool d1 pro 20w/IR combo also got the rotary attachment. I joined your forum and look forward to trying my hand at making one of your designs. Thanks again for helping take some of the "work" out of it, so I can get straight to burning stuff. lol

Hi Rich. Appreciate all your laser related videos. I'm very new to the laser world. Just bought an Atomstack A10 Pro diode laser. Problem now is, if I were to put my machine on my right hand side with the control unit on the bottom left, the laser printed image will be upside down. Is there any hardware/software related ways to adjust the orientation of the image without changing the position of my laser machine? Tq in advance.
Thank you so much for your amazing videos. I just registered on your website. I just purchased a laser and am currently working to get all of the ventilation and electricity issues worked out. But I’m learning so much from you. ❤
What would be the closest library for the jtech 24w diode to run on my onefinity elite foreman, cause I am confused you're calling the ortur 20w a 5w...this makes no sense to me.
I am a technology challenged lightburn and diode laser beginner. It appears that you are working in the PC world, but I use a MacBook, so it took me awhile to start downloading the art library. Problem #1 was I was in the Library and not the Art Library, so I could not get things to work at all. Also the commands are a bit different because I do not use a mouse. I was able to download several Art library pieces into my lightburn program. Now I have to figure out how to load some programs that I purchased off of etsy and try to make them work. Thanks for your time. It will take me awhile before I understand any of this, but I just keep trying.
Etsy files are usually png, dxf, svg, bmp or pdf Timothy. Once you save an extract the zip files, choose one format, I like svg, and click, File --> Import to bring it into Lightburn.
I'm thinking of upgrading my x tool d1 (non pro) from 10 watt to 20 watt, any thoughts? Also, where can I find cut files for a 20watt diode laser? Thanks
Hello out there, I'm hoping someone can help. Im trying to get a clean vector from a drawing in lightburn. it turned out very spotty. A lot to clean up. Am i doing something wrong??
Some images cannot be traced well in Lightburn Linda. You can try and select the image, then click File --> Save Processed Bitmap, and then reimport the bitmap and try and trace it again. Otherwise, use a file converter like Convertio: convertio.co/image-converter/
Thank you for responding. I'm new to all this. Exciting but hard without a background. Decided to use the pencil tool and trace the drawing. Worked out well.

Hi thanks for the video, later today ill try make acount on your forum, i have a question, my laser is atomstack a5 pro 40w with LT-80W-AA-Pro-Kit 12V head, do you by any chance have any recommended settings for this module?
I'm 72, I was sitting on my butt. Decided to start making stuff. 3d printer, laser cutter. I want to get a small cnc but I won't get one until i can solve the chip and dust issue. I'm thinking about an enclosure and using a shopvac that connects to the cnc enclosure, and then vents outside, like my laser does except that I might settle for a shoe instead of an enclosure. My point is that I'm doing stuff, trying stuff, creating at least little things, rather than just watching TV.
Thank you for all the work and efffort that you have put into these videos and your files. I am just getting started in the laser hobby and i am looking forward to exploring all of the possibilities. I purchased a Atomstack A5 M50 pro laser to get started with and i am looking forward to seeing what it can do...and what i can make it do. When you get into something like lasers , its a very specific interest and It not like you can just go down to your local laser shop and find a community to learn from or to resolve issues etc. For this reason your channel is invaluable, and the fact that you actually respond to us all is just amazing!!! Thankyou !
Wow, thanks Kennie! Comments are important to me. I feel like y'all are my friends even though we haven't met.
Thank you Rich. Truly a wealth of information and resources, beautifully presented
It's all about sharing Julio!
At last someone who is worth watching who actually knows how lightburn works 😊
Wow! Thank you so much! I appreciate the comment! 👍
Thanks again Rich! I review most of your vids from time to time especially before starting a project I haven't run in a while.
Great to hear!
Just started watching while waiting for my laser. You said you were at IBM in the 70s in the PC division. More than likely you knew people my dad worked with or even worked with him. Crazy small world.
Wow, interesting! I don't recall the last name but we really didn't use them. We all used nicks or first names; mostly nicks.
Thank you for all you do..I registered earlier today and look forward to dive right in; unfortunately I can't do much during the week because there is a place I have to go to that keeps my paychecks lol...
Awesome! Welcome aboard Jill! 👍
Lmbo😂. You were just talking about having your desk organized and I have just spent the last half hour looking for my stupid drillbits because I can find everything else but them so I get it. You’re right.!!!❤😂😂😂
🤪🤪👍
OMG you are a god sent for creating such a wonderful website! Thank you for all your hard work.
Thanks for watching and commenting Sam!
Do you have a puzzle with double lines that you share. I didn't find one in you free download library?
No, I don't use that method anymore.
If I've got 90W CO2 laser should I start with library for 80W or 100W would be better?
Either one would be a good starting point.
Thanks for the video, i saw that your mode selection in lightburn is totally different from mine. Mine only has Line, Fill and Offset.. Do you perhaps know how i can add more modes to my lightburn. I'm using Algolaser DIY KIT 10W..
That was on an older version of Lightburn.
Rich i have tried from several of your videos to down load and print the Lightburn shortcut sheet. Whether I print regular or mirrored it prints in reverse. How can I get a clean readable copy? Thanks.
You can try and print it directly from the Lightburn website Tom.
Thank you! Just a quick question... are there now libraries for the Creality Falcon 12w? Thanks again!
Not that I know of.
Rich this was fantastic I was making the mistake of clicking open instead of saved you are a fantastic teacher and within the next couple days you have one my support I will soon become a patron thank you so much
You are very welcome John! I'm glad it helped. 👍
Thank you for all those years working on this Rich. It help me a lot to work with that software and save me time with the configurations. You ROCK 🤟 🤟
Glad to help! Thanks for watching! 👍
Thanks Rich, for all this hard work. I am a complete noob, waiting for my first laser engraver to arrive. Your resources are invaluable.
Glad to help Mark.
Just discorvered this channel and the forum. Brilliant resource for someone like me who's completely new to this hobby. Subscribed and looking forward to waqtching the other videos on the channel.
Welcome to the obsession! 🤪
Rich, too new to ask intelligent questions yet, so I will spend my time absorbing what you are showing, and thanks again for all the time and effort you have expended in helping others. Just retired as well and looking forward to Laser usage and CNC as well.
Excellent Chuck, thanks!
Many thanks George! I appreciate the support! 👍
Thank you for doing this video explanation. And appreciate how genuinely patient you are in explaining the what and why along with the important HOW. Keep the excellent work up. I'm going to put to use everything you explained.
Awesome! 👍 Thanks for watching Steven!
Thanks for all of the great information. I went to download the cut & engrave library for my laser engravers but couldn't find them (Creality Falcon 10W, Two Trees 5W). When I hit the lottery I'll be able to buy a higher end laser.
They're in my forum.
Hi rich.
Looking at your forum I notice you say the first Atom stack cut file library is not suitable for the M50.
Well I have an A5 M50 Pro but it's fitted with a B40 (5.5) watt laser.
Which cut file library should I use?
Any 5W optical output library Andy.
I have an LC-60 John, and it's a fine machine! Pretty sure the diode is 6W, slightly stronger than the OLM2 Pro.
Best,
John
@@johnsherwood3213 The only thing I can think of would be a hardware issue. I don't see any eccentric nuts on mine so I’m at a loss on what it could be. I’m not having that problem at all.
thanks dear so match sorry my English not good i read what u do its very good and so good helper , but martial for s30 pro same any model 20watt
Any one of them that says 30W.
Thanks for helping me get a great start to learn how to use lightburn and my aramark laser!!
Awesome! 👍 Thanks for watching!
You are the best Rich. You spent a lot of time all for us. Thanks you so much in name of all other. 👍🏼
I appreciate that Sam, thank you!
This is one of the most satisfying hobbies I have ever had, and if spending all this time creating videos saves just one person from dropping out, it's worth it!
So cool! Thank you!
You are so welcome! Thanks!
Thank you for putting this together - I've been using my ownself-built materials library for a while. This video gave me the push I needed to start using the art library too!
Glad it was helpful David!
Thank you this was so very helpful. I do have a question thou. If I make my own art files what do I save them as is there a specific format to save them as (png, svg, jpeg etc) and 2 will I be able to save them in the art files like you did the ones in this video? TIA
You can save any file on the work bed into a library, it becomes a digital Lightburn file in whatever format it was.
This should be helpful in saving the settings that work. Thanks for another great video on how to create libraries.
Glad it was helpful!
hi, love your work and videos. i tried to sign up for your forum but it kept telling me i needed to enter a valid email which i had done, in fact two different ones. following the directions in this video to click on the contact us link, i did just that. i was greeted by a paragraph, in all caps, stating that you could not help me. i found this disappointing. is that the final answer?
We have over 58,000 members on the free forum Joe, with more every day. The signup process works. Can you imagine how much time I would have to spend answering questions and SPAM messages if I could monitor that contact address? You can contact a moderator if needed, KnightRid is the board mod.
I just received the Roly Lasermatic MKII 30w this week. I'm a newbie. I don't see cut and engrave settings for it in the downloads. Will that be coming soon or is it something I don't need to worry about?
I just finished it Doug, but it will only be free to owners of the LaserMATIC. I still have to work out the distribution with the owner of Roly Automation.
@@TheLouisianaHobbyGuy Great news! Thanks!

Thanks for sharing your years of knowledge and hard work. I just got my new xtool d1 pro 20w/IR combo also got the rotary attachment. I joined your forum and look forward to trying my hand at making one of your designs. Thanks again for helping take some of the "work" out of it, so I can get straight to burning stuff. lol
Awesome! 👍 Thanks for watching!
Thank you very much for this clear and engaging explanation! Until now, I didn't quite grasp the functionalities of the Library and ClipArt. Excellent work, and a big greeting from Spain!
Glad it was helpful, thanks!
Such a great community you've built - thank you! 😊
My pleasure!
Sounds like your origin is off in the machine settings.
Thanks rich. How do I set the correct origin setting sir?
Check the documentation that came with your laser.
Thank you so much for your amazing videos. I just registered on your website. I just purchased a laser and am currently working to get all of the ventilation and electricity issues worked out. But I’m learning so much from you. ❤
You are so welcome Shelly! Glad to have you aboard!
What would be the closest library for the jtech 24w diode to run on my onefinity elite foreman, cause I am confused you're calling the ortur 20w a 5w...this makes no sense to me.
Read further to optical output. At the time these were published, it was Ortur that called them that. not me.
Hi Rich, is there a Library for a 22w Diode?
Yep
Thanks so much for your time and efforts - so helpful when just getting started!
Happy to help!
I'm thinking of upgrading my x tool d1 (non pro) from 10 watt to 20 watt, any thoughts? Also, where can I find cut files for a 20watt diode laser? Thanks
Not a fan of xTool, so no real thoughts on it. If you like it, upgrade it. 20W libraries are available in my free forum.

Sounds like a fun project. Let me know how it goes!

Hi Rich. New to lasering and was wondering if you have a library for Foxalien 4040xe machine? I couldn't find it on your forum. Thank you again for all of your help
