At the start of the episode Jennifer acted like if she never really broke up her relationship with Mariner back in Season 3 episode nine in the frist place since Jennifer was the one who broke up her realtionship/friendship with Mariner after the misunderstand incident were Mariner had an unauthorized interview with Victoria Nuzé. At first I thought that the reason why Jennifer acted like nothing really had happen between her and Mariner because deep down she must still feeling guilty for wrongly accuse Mariner for something that she didn't do for once until later it was revealed that Jennifer only trying to force Mariner to talk about their breakup.
*SPOILER WARNING* She acted like that to push Mariner to break them up. "I was messing with you." And yeah that was and asshole thing to do and was called out on It by Mariner. Altought Mariner also had to apologize for ghosting her.
See my initial assumption was either that she went through a wormhole that messed with her perception of time and that made her think they were still dating. Or that it was an Andorian cultural thing that made her think that they were still together because for Andorians a huge screaming match and a one year absence of all communication does not equal breakup. Or third option that she was pretending one of those two things was true to sort of weasel her way back into being Mariner's girlfriend. Never did it occur to me that she was just fucking with her.
Honestly I kinda instantly assumed Jennifer was messing with Mariner, we never saw Jen act like that when they were dating, it was very out of character. It became especially clear when Mariner explained how she just ghosted Jen. Definitely not a healthy way to deal with a breakup, Jen definitely crossed a line, but I think it makes sense personality wise for both characters. Jennifer liked Mariner for being toxic and rude, and Mariner liked Jennifer for the same thing. It makes sense that Mariner would eventually want to apologize for ghosting, she is growing more mature by the episode. It also makes sense that Mariner would forgive Jennifer for pulling this little social manipulation, because that's basically what Mariner used to like about Jennifer, and Jennifer did really apologize at the end.
@@Bobsmith-xq2pr mariner was totally justified in ghosting! dont you remember why they broke up? the crew blamed mariner for that bad evaluation from the news reporter, and even jen wouldnt hear her out at all. she totally broke mariner's trust in their relationship. mariner stayed friends with everyone else because they went out of their way to apologize, but jen never did. it was entirely on jen.

Honestly, I've always seen Commander Ransom as a questionable leader ever since Lower Decks started; he's made plenty of questionable decisions. I sometimes wonder he's still in Starfleet , or sent to Starbase 80 himself.
He’s just Riker with his insufferable jock setting turned up to 11 without the benefit of a Betazoid love interest to teach him empathy. Yet I’ve never seen him make a sexist remark. Seems he’s self-aware enough to know he’s just one inappropriate comment and HR complaint away from Starbase 80 at all times.
@0:15 That's incredibly heartfelt for a Vulcan. She must really be glad Tendi's back.
Underwater Dry Park sounds like a question for Cetacean Ops.

Pretty toxic if you ask me

Two negatives don't make a positive! 😂😂😂
"Ransom's bad, man!" And "Better we get our hands eaten than him!"
Also Ransom: Allowed Mariner to punch all his teeth out during a mission.
An underwater dry park does sound amazing

Wait... Admiral Milius?
As in screenwriter and director John Milius?

True, but you gotta give him credit for giving the lower deckers more than a chance to prove themselves which they have in return
Again he thinks Jett likes danger so he puts him on dangerous missions.

Ransoms flaw is that he just dosent seem to realise other people dont like danger as much as him

I wanna find the fuck out too
I thought they were a cute couple and I was sad that they broke up but I understood why because they weren't right for each other
Too bad we can't regrow hands and limbs in THIS century. Sigh...
