It was a great season finale, but they did leave it open for a 7th season (and more) if they want to make some more money and make the fans happy at the same time.
Wil's enthusiasm, gentleness, and genuine affection for the shows and what they mean to people are so touching. And I absolutely love Lower Decks. I hope to see them all again in animation or live action for many years to come!
Just really sucks they canceled this show. other than SNW this is the best Star Trek show out of all of them other than Prodigy, which they canceled also
I cannot deny that the SNW episode Those Old Scientists has a special place in my heart. I saw it for the first time five months after my ex and I split up (though we were force to continue living together because the rental market is insane), and I had other work and health issues. Watching that had me feeling happy for the first time in over a year. The fact that feeling lasted only about eight seconds because the family dog, who was laying next to me, started barking at nothing, which startled me, took nothing away from the moment, and the episode is one I go back to when I need cheering up. It is simply everything that is right about Star Trek.
I'm so sad this was the last episode of Lower Decks. This show was the best!!! It was my favorite Star Trek series. I would have loved to have seen more seasons of Lower Decks. Mike did an incredible job with this show!
Paramount/CBS should never have cancelled this show. It’s perfect. Not to mention, TNG, VOY, and DS9 all got over 170 episodes. We got around 50 for LDs. And I know that TOS was only 70-80, Discovery was under 50, Picard was 30, etc. But all those are live action; this was animated. Production costs couldn’t have been extravagant. It just would have been nice to have it go on indefinitely, or at least beyond 5 seasons. I mean, how many times has Futurama come back? Just disappointing to see it go…there was SO much else they could have explored and so much character development to still hit
I'm going to miss these guys! Still can't believe paramount cancelled Lower Decks before its time. I really hope it makes a comeback in the future, its honestly some of the best of Trek
Jack Ransom mentoring over Beckett made him really worthy of becoming next captain of the Cerritos. P.S. I hope that he won't end up like other Captain Ransom did.
This series was amazing. I wish it hadn’t been cancelled but I’m grateful for the five seasons we got. Thanks to everyone who worked to make this great show.

I still think it would've been hilarious if Ransom had been part of that crossover with Strange New Worlds, to see Jerry O'Connell play opposite his wife, Rebecca Romijn, and the hijinks, would have been amazing

Got so much love for lower decks & Wheaton. I was so excited when lower decks was announced and oh my I was not disappointed in the slightest. A large segment of the fandom doesn’t believe Mariner and Boimler were portrayed as strictly “platonic.” Or at the very least, the way they were written definitely didn’t have that vibe.

This is so heartbreaking. Paramount really needs to be held accountable for ending this show prematurely to prop up shows that no fan has asked for. This is such a destructive act of betrayal. Lower Decks! Lower Decks! Lower Decks!
What annoys me is that they obviously expected another season and had set up for it but made it vague enough that it could be a plausible final episode. Im glad they did it without a cliffhanger.

With the mutliversal finale, they set it up to potentiall create one of the most insane and awesome shows in scifi history if they come up with a cool spinoff. There's so much they could do with a Star Trek Multiverse. Now Starbase 80 makes DS9 look like a rest stop in Iowa, there are so many cool things they can do with it.

Cancel this show was the Biggest Mistake Paramount did in a LONG WHILE.... Absolutely not understand it.. a Cartoon that cost less cost in production then a Live action and loved by so many just gone...
I mean, I don't get it. The show is universally loved. Literally everyone on the show wants to keep doing it, and the show-runner says he has stories to make it last for several more seasons. But it gets canceled anyway? I just don't understand what goes through the minds of TV executives. If it wasn't for Strange New Worlds still being on the air, I'd cancel my Paramount+ subscription.
Hopefully they will be doing a series of movies now. Star Trek has a LOT of catching up to do with all the Star Wars programs out there. We NEED more Star Trek, especially more adult animated shows like this!!!

I’d love to see them in a new series. I thought maybe their mission could be expanding federation space into “uninhabited” regions. Setting up new colonies n stuff. Maybe escorting fleets of colonist ships. Maybe called ‘Upperdecks: Colony Class. I’m bingeing all the LD series. That way I won’t remember individual episodes and in a few years from now I can binge again and not recall most of the plot. MORE LOWER DECKS TEAM PARAMOUNT ! MOOOOOORE! Also the funny Star Trek is good.
