Wonderful to see Patrick Stewart, Michelle Hurd, Jonathan Frakes, et al give Sonequa Martin-Green her due as the courageous, empathic presence she brought to this character.
I've watched every Star Trek Discovery episode since it first aired in 2017. It has been a fantastic experience seeing such an amazing show over the years. I've loved all the stories, characters, and appreciate all the thought, meaning, and heart everyone involved has put into it. Thank you for creating and producing this wonderful show.
I started with TOS and there wasn't a finale. That's sorta good in that the episodes were in syndication and played every afternoon right after Ultraman (SF Bay Area ~1975) and there was more to know about an episode seeing it twice. Remember back then, no recordings, no on-demand, etc, so we'd act them out or argue what-ifs, etc, and name things like the Cosmic Carrot (can you guess what that refers to?). Back in the slow media days, there was much to savor and worlds we built around each story.
I cried SO many butterfly tears watching this episode. My entire body, was covered in goosebumps. This is what I've waited for my entire life. I'm heartbroken yet so grateful that I received this show into my life. I cried!!!!!
Dr Culber is one of the best Doctors in all of Star Trek. He exudes a warm to his patients and making him a medical doctor as well as a psychologist is brilliant as he’s also empathetic to the crews emotional issues and someone they can also talk you.
A phenomenal last episode. It was everything I wanted it to be. I am sad Discovery has come to an end, but this finale episode did right by it. As a fan of Disco from the beginning, I am satisfied.
From one who started watching Star Trek in 1971 as a six year old, have loved every Star Trek series and every episode. This series was magnificent and the series final was incredible. Sad it is over, but eagerly waiting for future series and more adventures. And... Looking forward to Strange New Worlds to return!
One of the absolute best Ready Rooms. Thank you Wil, you are the best. Thank you Sonequa and Michele and all the rest. I will miss seeing more new episodes of Discovery, with such an incredible cast. Here's to more Star Trek in the future that continues to push the boundaries and to see more strange, new worlds. Live long and proser!
I wasn't ready for it to end. I'm still not. The feeling of loss is profoundly grief like and I just have to remind myself that there will be more Star Trek to look forward to.
Until this episode I had no idea Ready Room was still happening - I was used to them being shown to me alongside the episodes on Paramount and I was really missing them! What the heck, Paramount Plus? I guess while I'm at it: please do not cancel Lower Decks.
Discovery is always going to hold a very special place in my heart - I'm so very glad it ushered in a new era of Star Trek! Can't wait for more Strange New Worlds and for Section 31!
I'm so sad Discovery is ending. I thought nothing could come close to TNG until this series. It took the depth of TNG and pushed it forward to explore deeper into the human psyche, culture, and scientific imagination. I really hope they revive it. That said, amazing last episode!
We NEED a series that talks about the Temporal Wars!!!!!! Bring back allllllll the fan favorite characters, promote Harry Kim, and bring back alllllllllll the nostalgia!!!!!!
Thank you Star Trek Discovery Cast and Crew . All of you were the reason for the re-emergence of Trek, and what a wonderful Trek we have right now. Once in Trek, forever in Trek.
Discovery opened the gates for another era of Star Trek. We might not all agree on whether one thing or another was right. We often look at incongruities or other issues in these shows. At the end of the day though we are living in an era that has been informed by the generations who have grown up dreaming of a making the Star Trek world a reality. I hope I get to see the world build by the children who have grown up with Discovery. I hope they dream bigger than we have thanks to the stories, the cast and the world presented in Discovery and the world of stories it helped bring about.
As all of the Star Trek series have been innovative and ground breaking from the beginning, Discovery has continued the tradition of reflecting current day culture and mores by presenting us with morality plays. One doesn't have to agree with the writers' intent, but it does give one pause to think about how one feels. I think this series was a courageous step forward in many ways, teaching us that inclusion for all is the only way forward into the future. I shall look forward to re-watching the episodes from the start. Well done to all.
It was a good way to conclude the season and the series but it left it even open ended enough for a hope for a well what we saw with the Next Generation a series of movies. I would very much enjoy seeing a Star Trek movie with the cast of Star Trek Discovery. Even a huge plot twist with Dr. Kovich was a surprise and I'm sure his Red Directives could make for great movie material.
I really liked the way this show ended. I liked that it tied it back into the Shirt Treks. I like that it did the classic trek thing and flash-forward 30-40 years after the final mission. But Michael's mindset at the end of the episode, not the coda, really made me want another season. I wanted to see her with these "eyes wide open," as it were. I also thought Kovich was going to be a Q and not Agent Daniels. I was pleasantly surprised I was wrong. However, I wish he had specified and said "NX-01 Enterprise" and not just "Enterprise".
True, but it did have 30-40 years of service after the wedding and before going off into the big black yonder - we could always end up with it making cameos in ST: Academy
love this show from start to finish it would be great to see a movie come out of it . going to miss it oh hold on streaming i can binge watch . live long an prosper cast an crew of Star Trek Discovery
Initially, I was disappointed with Discovery, and it wasn't until Season Three that I finally began enjoying what I was watching. Now, I'm willing to look and see what is coming next.
Star Trek Discovery is finally over. The last season was their best IMO. Progenitors and their technology from TNG was the perfect plot. And the idea that even though they created all the sentient life in the galaxy they themselves who stumbled upon the ancient technology billions of years ago were made from another species who were themselves created by an even more ancient civilization in an endless cycle of ancient civilizations forever lost in time creating other lost ancient civilizations and so on. Crazy stuff. And that ending, of the realization of that tech being too powerful for the Federation of the future to responsibly handle it, so it was put beyond the event horizon of a black hole was an inspiring ending showing the true potential in humanity humbling itself and doing the right thing for the Galaxy. Something we appear to be so far from today. But are we? I thought the whole thing was genius. But the one thing that bugged me was, that something deeply Star Trek was missing in such a grand story - Q. The Q Continuum should have at least been shown, even if just for a second. Even if just to downplay the whole saga, like Q saying something like "Oh look, slobbering babies discovered their toddler older siblings, how quaint *wink". I think that would have been the stuff 1990s Star Trek fans would have craved. Besides that, that final season of STDiscovery, was probably one of the best Star Trek stories ever told.
Until now I thought that the series finale of DS9 was the best of Trek finale. This beats it by far. Very well handled. It was good to see Burnham's hero journey be complete. Bravo.
I love this series, excellent in itself and as the kick off to modern Trek. The diverse ensemble is memorable. I hope this isn’t the last will see of them. I’ll miss Discovery.
The Finale was everything I was hoping for. Too bad it had to come to an end. What an awesome series! Love Discovery! True Trekkers adapt and take every new series for what it is. Just as the people do in the world of Star Trek. Acceptance of what and who you are is true Star Trek!!
I loved the series, beautiful ending, though I hate when shows end. I hope we will get glimpses of our friends in the other shows. 🖖 Love your pride pin Will!
Don't get me wrong, I enjoyed the final season and thought the final episode was certainly worthy of a series finale (even if the "finale" part was kind of tacked on, but at least Paramount let them do it) I think the biggest reveal was Dr. Kovich. I never saw that coming. Once the camera started panning around his office/holodeck space/whatever that is showing various historically important Trek items I thought, ok they are going to reveal who Kovich really is and it's probably someone we know from some other show but I never thought it would be Daniels. I thought, maybe Future Guy (temporal war etc.) or even a much older Archer somehow, but Daniels. Nice reveal Discovery, nice lol And thank you to SMG and the entire cast of Discovery and everyone involved in the show (from day one to the last day, over 7 years now) for bringing Star Trek back to TV and being the vanguard of this new era of Star Trek. You should have gotten a 6th season, but we roll with the punch's right guys? It's OK though, we'll see Captain/Admiral Burnham and the crew visiting Tilly at SF Academy on Earth in 2025 :D
just watched Series Finale of Star Trek Discovery....it was really, really good...they got the recipe right and this was the best most consistent season in my opinion
We are living in a new age of Star Trek, and I'd even say a good one. I've enjoyed all the shows that have come out for the most part. But I wouldn't call this the "Golden Age of Star Trek". Maybe Silver? Maybe it doesn't need a moniker? Yes there are multiple shows running (or at least there were), but we don't have any films in theaters that impact the prime universe. And the publishing world of novels and comics has just become it's own separate thing off in the corner with no real influence on the franchise. I'd say the true "Golden Age" of Star Trek was when we had TNG films in theaters as DS9 and Voyager were on our TV's and the novels coming out were at their peak.
I had this same reaction. But his is not "the" golden age, but "a new" golden age... I'd say he's not saying this new age is better than the old, but it is a new good age
I am a star trek fan period. Good or bad I'm strapped in for the ride. From the original series to now. She has become one of my top 5 in order Sisko picard kirk Burnham Janway New Pike and Archor.
Started off Shaky, ended like a pro by the last season. Such a good ending despite hitting that 4 season mark instead of the old 7 seasons one. Wish we could have seen so much, but where it is now, there's so much open for additions of new series and even novels and comics! What a wonderful show!
The ending was beautiful however part of me wished that calypso didn’t tie into it. I could totally be wrong but not to many people watched it. Also I feel so sad for Zora and Burnham that they won’t see each other again and I wish that Discovery could’ve kept the refitted form despite calypso.
True, but it did have 30-40 years of service after the wedding and before going off into the big black yonder - we could always end up with it making cameos in ST: Academy
Thank you so much for Discovery and it’s great cast and directors! This was an Awesome Addition to the Trek Franchise and I’m still so sad that it ended so abruptly
Having watched every iteration of Star Trek since the TOS re-runs started running in syndication in 1970, I feel that Discovery's "Life Itself" is the best-written, best-executed & one of the most affecting finales in the franchise's history. Is there a further future where Zora teaches those who come aboard her about IDIC?
My only tiny disappointment with the finale was that Moll was left with no resolution of her loss of Lock, who Michael had promised to save. She just disappeared from the story after they came back to Discovery.
Not necessarily. Moll is going to be recruited by denials and probably become a temporal agent . The progenitor made it clear that even tho they recreate the shell, the person who passed away wont be the same. And that power is too much even for one person or one race. she made the conscious decision for her to gried and move from there
She wasn't the first female black captain. In Star Trek 4 The Voyage Home there was a black female captain. It's when the whale 🐋 probe was heading towards earth. That was back in 1984 or 85.

I definitely did not like the last few minutes of The' Final Episode, sure nice montage . I watched Short Treks Season 01 Episode 02 but even with the connection made I found it lacking. I hope there is a new connection where Zora actually gets into a new Star Trek Future. And, as for L'ak when we're told that his body can be re-created but his essence cannot be don't tell me Dr. Noonien Soong and his transfer technology was completely lost, after all he used it for his wife. Also, if you can borrow from many Sci-Fi tropes, Zora could make her own body. Well, I'll wait for a new series expecting Zora. That thousand year wait seems so empty.
Many thanks to Wil, Sonequa, Michelle and everyone involved in both THE READY ROOM as well as STAR TREK: DISCOVERY! 🖖🖖🏽🖖🖖🏻🖖🖖🏿🖖🖖🏼🖖🖖🏾🖖
I'm not crying, you are! Discovery means so much to me. I'm sad to se it end, but I know it's impact will be felt for years to come.

As a fan who started my Trek with TNG this finale of Discovery was a beautiful nod to it and the other series as well...well done
Same. I started with TNG, circa season four, and it's by far my favorite of the current Trek shows.
Not done, you still have Strange New Worlds, Section 31 and Star Fleet Academy.
I started with TOS and there wasn't a finale. That's sorta good in that the episodes were in syndication and played every afternoon right after Ultraman (SF Bay Area ~1975) and there was more to know about an episode seeing it twice. It would have been more impactful, if I was actually invested in any the characters, as I was with previous Star Trek television shows.
I cried SO many butterfly tears watching this episode. My entire body, was covered in goosebumps. This is what I've waited for my entire life. I'm heartbroken yet so grateful that I received this show into my life. I cried!!!!!

How freakin' adorable is Sonequa Martin-Green?
Wonderful Ready Room, as always. Thank you, Wil. And thank you, Discovery - it's been a great ride!
I like to thank the cast and Crew for giving us five seasons Star Trek Discovery. Captain Michael Burnham is iconic.
The ending was absolutely beautiful. This show leaves a monumental legacy. Thank you for it. ❤
Thank you Ready Room - wonderful tributes for the hard work BTS for cast . 👩🚀

The accolades for SMG are richly deserved.

Such a great interview!!!!!
Discovery is by far one best Star Trek shows ever created. Paramount seriously needs to fire the person who suggested this brilliant show be canceled
This being the series that got me into star trek as a whole i will miss it.
You need to do a segment about all the props and Dr kolvic office
I’m going to miss watching Star Trek Discovery
Absolutely perfect ending!
Thank you for bringing Trek back to TV.
Save Discovery! Save Lower Decks! Paramount, whoever chose to cancel the shows made a big mistake. Please bring them back!

Yes it is!!!
the best season was its last.
Love The Ready Room!! and Wil Wheaton!!!
"All these characters got to fall forward" -- to grow, to "change fundamentally." Yes, that meant a lot.
I LOVE STAR TREK DISCOVERY.🖖🏿
Agent Daniels from Star Trek Enterprise which I thought Agent Daniels died
Timey wimey! (And timeliney winey!)

Weepscovery ended well.

Thank you so much for Discovery and it’s great cast and directors! This was an Awesome Addition to the Trek Franchise and I’m still so sad that it ended so abruptly
An ending of all endings, no matter how many series may follow!!
Okay; bring on Starfleet Academy.
I want to know what the Red Directive mission was that left Discovery and Zora on its own for 1,000 years.
Having watched every iteration of Star Trek since the TOS re-runs started running in syndication in 1970, I feel that Discovery's "Life Itself" is the best-written, best-executed & one of the most affecting finales in the franchise's history. I thrilled at the main story, at the heroics of Tilly, Stametz, Rayner, Book, Culber, Burnham & Saru; choked up at the wedding; and teared up to see Burnham & Book as an old married couple with a grown son. I look upon Zora's mysterious mission as extending beyond "Calypso," as Starfleet's longest serving ship and -- in fact -- representative. Is there a further future where Zora teaches those who come aboard her about IDIC?
Somehow never heard of Calypso, guess I'll have to go find that and figure out what went over my head in the finale.
I cried butterfly tears
My only tiny disappointment with the finale was that Moll was left with no resolution of her loss of Lock, who Michael had promised to save. She just disappeared from the story after they came back to Discovery.

That Madge Sinclair she later played Georgie’s mother Captain Silvia Laforge
You idiots need to learn what lead means go look it up
Just stop it. You know what they mean
I love the show, btw where did you get the LLaP hand sign pin.
Funny they touched on this, but it would have been great to have more small missions for Disco. It would have allowed us to get closer to the crew.
Discovery was a great series!
I am not a nerd. I just like the show.
