It's really a shame a large number of people only see him as that guy with John Mayer. His talent is too great to be relegated to that.
💯
If I'm allowed to brag, I discovered DRH through his short-lived band Brand New Immortals, and I genuinely had no idea of his collaboration with John Mayer.
@@bangslamwham88 thanks for putting me on! Ima give it a listen asap!
Yep SkrapDiggy, thats happens when you dont know his work... if you like him just google his work and you will looks past hia work with John, its so easy to do so.
David really has wonderful voice. actually he is great singer
yes he's awesome
I had the honor to see him singing the intro for Slow Dancing live, and I'm glad it took JM a long time to come back to Brazil, so I could see them both together with Steve and Pino. What an experience!
"I'm going to be in service to the song". Excellent excellent!!!!
I saw David play with JM a few months ago in London, very talented guy. Also very cool that JM fills his band with guitarists who are on his level (David + Isaiah Sharkey)!
Word👌🏿. I love Isaiah
Sharkey is miles ahead of JM tho they compliment eachother so well!
WOW! DUDE! BRO!
The “Atlanta” EP is one of the best albums I’ve ever listened to. Over 15 years later, I still love it! Such an inspiration for musicians
these interviews are super valuable, thanks for making them!
The Bittersweet was a great album. Would love to see an interview with Chad Franscoviak. Mayer has always surrounded himself with great people!
The Bittersweet pretty much changed my life (at least musically). It's still maybe my favorite album of all time.
I always loved him as part of the band, but I got to see him live performing his own songs on Rio and it was amazing, one of the best nights of my life. His voice is so amazing. I love him ♥
See. All about relationships baby. Absolutely powerful.
I'd pay serious money to see Follow For Now again! I saw them about half a dozen times back in the early 1990's and they put on a mind blowing show!
I saw them twice! WHAT a great show!
Came to share the love for Follow For Now. One of my favorite bands from that Atlanta scene. That dope run he David does on Misfortune. " Have you ever se-ee-ee-ee-een a gir rr rr rrl!" in my brain almost 30 years later. Where you at Enrique, miss you man!
The Dion a Ferris album was epic. David made that album so dope!
To Mr Mayer, Mr. harris ,Mr Jordan,Mr Paladino , all of the amazing men an women the gifted musicians who have been so illuminated by a amazing humble artist who has been my inspiration and the warmth of the existence of pure desire there is t nothing is missing humility and the edge of our desires are one.and i thank you for sharing and showing the purest love i Zana76 🌟
I'm not a fan of how the interviewer didn't mention DRH's solo work in the beginning, only the other artists he's worked with. This man has done some great work *besides* the stuff he's done with other artists. Acknowledge that.
i just discovered him yesterday. i love his voice. why is he not a superstar by now. everyone should be listening to him.
Discovered your dads @$$ years ago but you don’t see me bragging about it on the internet
I am one of the 10,000 who have the record. I got it as a promo from a friend who used to work at a record store. Great album and very underappreciated.
i saw him and john in washington dc last month and his voice blew me away !!!!! incredible
Love this guy great musician, guitarist, singer!
DRH, what a great soul! I dig this dude. He seems so genuine. great interview.
I just met him this weekend. He is a good guy. I'd totally see him again. His opening act, Justin Kawika Young, was also great. And I met his fiancee, who happens to be the one and only Colbie Caillat!
Amazing interview. Love this guy! And really dig the interviewer vibe.
I saw then with Follow For Now in like 91 or something... they fucking KILLED IT, and I've been a fan ever since!
DRH is an awesome singer-songwriter period.
The interviewer is hilarious. I feel like I'm watching a skit at times!
Haha thank you!
Nah he’s not hilarious, he is openly enthusiastic and humble, which is beautiful and kinda rare...
He sounds like john
he is definitely picking up John's inflection
You mean John sounds like him.
@@easysinmusic216 john has been john from the start
@@AyYoSteve I dont think you guys know JMs story. He came to Atlanta and use to ask David could he open for him. He learned allot about songwriting from David. Research JMs early days in Atlanta.
@@easysinmusic216 I find this weird because I've seen someday I'll fly numerous times and I dont see any mentions of it. Also, from early dorm videos john has been who john is. However, I will now keep in mind how much influence DRH has had on him. Thank you!
The song he talks about with India.Arie is called “Life I Know” of her 2013 album “SongVersation” and it is absolutely beautiful go and check it out.
"I'm the man that knows the man".
That's awesome man..
Robbie sick man....yeahhhh dude..
enjoyed the vibe of the interviewer. easy on the feels.
Thank you!
That's awsome man.
Be hungry. Don’t be a dick. Be the man that knows the man. That’s a life well lived. Well done, David.
That's the most organic thing ever!! hahahahaha
:)
Damn he sounds like John Mayer when he talks..!
I think Mayer sounds like him. I’m not I diehard fan of JM or David so my information is very scant but the first thing I realised was how John sounds like him. A lot of thought put into the words he says.
This guy went to my high school. 20 years before I went. Now I see where all the hype over John Mayer came from. No doubt this guy has influenced John, and honestly, John is good. Great even. But this guy lives that acid jimi rock blues groove vibe life! Having listened to Mayer for years and only now discovered him, I feel like this guys got to be Mayers influence. I also feel on some level he was ripped off. He is that Mayer vibe, the Mayer vibe was ripped off of him. He definitely doesn't get the clout he deserves
John Mayer never ripped him off. They did shows together before they both blew up and had the same influences growing up. John was a bluesman from the start but eventually chose to do his own thing (pop blues/ soft rock blues). John although being influenced by a lot of blues guy, never ripped anybody off if you think about it. He just chose to create his own unique finger print in music where as this guy stayed to his bluesy roots. Simple.
Far out DRH is humble, he's accomplished his philosophy cause that's the sort of dude I'd want in the room
Watched him live tonight in San Diego with John Mayer. He is fire!!! Played gibby les Paul es with bigsby
2:16 Steve Jobs just chilling bottom right. No biggie.
fr
That’s awesome
yusss
SO SICK! DOPE! bro.
DRH legend
Anyone know the song he did with India Arie that he's talking about around the 5 min mark?
Steven R I’m trying to figure that out now
Only ran across: the life I know
This interviewer reminds me of Kendal from the show “Succession” lol
There's a few moments where he reminds me of Carson Daily if you know what I mean...
Why is Kendal Roy interviewing David Ryan Harris?
Interesting low key diss on Richie Sambora - Anyone know any details?
Can we like talk about David instead of fanboy about John? Pls
Elmo sorry bro... Enrique is the man on drums for FOLLOW FOR NOW!
Not on the album. I think they only had him on one song.
Man this interviewer reminds me of Harry Mire
With his beard, david looks like robert downey jr in trophic thunder
Follow For Now!
is that the Steve Jobs??? 2:14
Yeah
Wish jammcard wasn’t so elitist
There’s a lot of us that have worked outside of La or Ny and managed to make it without being in the limelight
I gotta ask you bro
That guy is not a dick! :)
Didn't know Steve Jobs was in John Mayer band. @2.16
Shiva Ashutosh haha yep it was quite the super group
Crazy right?
Is it just me or am I missing something but this guy asking the questions is “trying” too hard with the whole bro thing. Relax man.
It's a real shame that David Ryan Harris is unknown outside of the US. If you ask me he's probably America's best kept secret. I've yet to hear anything from him I don't like.
