What was your favorite episode of season 5?
First We Feast hehe idk
Performance ENHANCE my taste buds~!
Alton Brown!
Alton Brown, he's a consummate professional and hell a human.
Alton Brown easily.
still unbelievable he showed me love 💓
Page 50 on god
that is really cool!
damn you KNOW he comes back to this video every now and then
tell us about your day!
his comment for you was so sweet and sincere.
"yeah. just tell us what's on your mind"
Why does john mayer look like a teenager and an old man at the same time 😂
THIS COMMENT NEEDS MORE LIKES
Good genetics, he's got a boyish look.
because he is
his lips
Because he has thick hair. If his hair was thinning or receding he would look more his age.
"To my taste, a peanut M&M it's not an M&M with a peanut in it, it's a peanut with a little bit of M&M around it."
Word.
Who tf asked
Agreed and on the subject, tf is up with reese's pieces? Wheres the damned chocolate??
you need to edit this shit again
Based
YES!!!
His ability to tune the uke while listening to him talk is underappreciated.
That's not that special, this is an example of people who know he's a good musician, but don't know jack shit about music so they can't actually compliment him
@@metal_musician4458 why are musicians always trynna put others down, like just let the guy be
Yeah, but the thing went wildly out of tune after the first try.
@@Ecmusicproductionschannel it was never fully tuned; about a half-step off
Still funny as shit tho
@@metal_musician4458 way to gate keep like the absolute chad you are
John Mayer gets handed an instrument and instantly starts tuning it, love that
Whenever anyone who can actually play the ukulele is handed a ukulele by a non-musician, we assume that it's out of tune, and we are invariably right.
Not trying to diminish Mayer's artistic or personal value at all, but there is virtually no way any musician who can put two notes together properly with a polyphonic instrument that goes out of tune easily and is tuned easily (so for example, not a piano) will not immediately tune it before playing.
@@bloodySunday77 I mean your statement is right but by saying this you are not diminishing Mayer in anyway.
Its so nice to listen to him because he talks about everything w interest and focus.
Agreed completely 👏🏻👏🏻
It's almost like he already has the answers filed for every question sean throwed at him.
@@jofelmorata I've noticed this a lot with John. He is incredibly intelligent and it's clear he's thought a lot about a lot of things.
I think the right way to describe him is mature, knowledgeable & experienced...? Juxtaposed with his younger self's persona it definitely seems that way to me. He's like... the best version of his younger self that his younger self wishes to be.
It's very odd in a sense that it makes him seem older and youthful at the same time, like, he's still very much a 22-year-old, just an older and wiser 22-year-old, but Idk😅.
Wrong! Peanut M&M a 100% better!
Me: Justin Bieber isn’t that good of a musician
John: Justin Bieber is a really good musician
Me: Justin Bieber is a really good musician
More like, I don't like his songs, but I can understand why others might.
He's talented but his lyrics are hit or miss
John was actually saying he sucks he said a (professional musician) can hum melodies... lol you gotta read between the lines
@@mikenaugz88 Da fuq? He clearly said that Bieber is good at coming up with melodies. You're just hearing what you want to hear
@@GameplayKuningas Sure.
John is so poetically articulate. He's also much more likable than I expected
John is the one of the most beautifully articulate communicators. He is on a plane where only he can live. I’m so envious of his genius.
u just said something rlly articulate yourself, don't compare just let urself b ur own form of the geniuses u see in the world
Agreed with max. But also agree with you lol
perfectly put.
Honestly after this show is over, Sean deserves totally his own talk show, hes such a good versatile interviewer, he let the guest talk but provide question that are almost like engineered to be just awesome. Him and his team are top notch.
WHAT??????? Is this show really over? Seriously?
@@VictorLimak he didn't say that
This is on point! He really is such a versatile interviewer! The way he handles these celebrities is what catches my attention the most! Hehe awesome guy!
But this literally is HIS OWN talk show. As I write this, this video has been viewed 6.5M times. And the FWF channel has nearly 11M subscribers. Also, I just googled it -- in the 6+years since Hot Ones began, Sean has amassed a net worth of $40M -- just from Hot Ones content. I think he's probably good.
Nah, major media outlets wouldn't let him conduct interviews like this. They feed off of controversy and purposely try to fluster and frustrate interviewees into saying or doing things that can be easily twisted to fit a controversial narrative, all for the sake of ratings. That's why you get interviewers who cut in and interrupt their guests mid-answer, approach answers with stuff like "so what you're saying is ____", and put guests in a position to say something that can easily be taken out of context. Sean is good right where he's at because he still gets to conduct interviews the way *he* wants instead of being forced to conduct them in a way that better serves the network and their (in my opinion) evil aspirations.
I feel so bad for hating on this guy for so long. Awesome dude.
Good that you changed your perspective! He’s a very well spoken guy that doesn’t take life and being a celebrity too serious
i mean, " how dare you", 😂😂
Me too. I just saw him with Dead & Co. I’ve never done a 180 so quickly.
Don't think he cares either way.
@Uncle Ruckus he had a massive ego
Loved this! For a guy denigrated as a pop artist, off humor and serial dating with bad too public breakups he's not what I expected. He's down to earth, intelligent, introspective, insightful, funny and deeply dedicated to his craft. It was a very enjoyable interview.
So, I binge watched some of his concert videos. He truly has mad guitar skills, he's a natural lyricist, nice voice and pleasant eye candy looks. He has become a force to be reckoned with.
Thats why the women love him so much
He has charm
18:51 I love this part
"ohh, it's taking out its breiefcase. Popping the latches. What they got in ther-" "ohhh...stainless steel medical devices"
I dont get it
He’s describing being in a torture scene
When he talked about the 1 to 4 cord progression, he basically hummed psycho by Post Malone
well psycho is a great example of I to IV.
because that’s what he did😐
He was
No shit dumbass
@@ssoossaa you beat me to it 😂
Since watching John’s tribute video for Bob Saget I’ve been on a John Mayer binge. He might be the most well spoken person I’ve ever seen. Its staggering. He can throw a gorgeous sentence together like no other
“one last obstacle”
* john starts looking around for more wings*😭😭😂😂
As a guitar player, watching John talk about "guitar face" is almost too entertaining. 😆
I admire his ability to communicate so well with his words..
The total vibe of this interview in particular it’s just on another level for so many therapeutic reasons I can’t even pinpoint one. So well done
It's scary how easily Mayer eased on in to Jerry's spot in Dead and Co. He's easily one of the best guitarists of all time...
Another dope ass, perfectly thought out and paced interview. These are truly a work of art. This show deserves an award for sure.
He handled those wings like a damn champ
I love how John Mayer shows up in a t-shirt, ripped jeans, sneakers and a $350,000 watch. 🤣🤣
Not just any jeans those are Visvim
Jeans are probably AT LEAST $700
That's his thing. The man has an extensive watch collection
His clothes are not cheap either ;)
HELL YESSSSS HAHAHA WITH THE ROLEX DAYTONA
You know, I think Hot Ones is more than just spicy wing celebrity interviews. They understand very well how to get an interviewee engaged and genuinely connected. Most talk shows are just scripted bullshit that gets fed to them so they can plug their new thing, but Hot Ones takes things to a real personal level with their well-researched questions and interesting subjects.
Jimmy Fallon or Ellen would just make this some dumbass thing about "haha guitar funny face" and "wow you're so sexy, John", but Sean made it real. It was an actual connection. Thank you Hot Ones
This turned out to be one of my favorite interviews on hot ones… not for the reaction to da bomb, but for the entirety of the interview it self. Probably the best interview ever
9:08 John Mayer: Elk meat
*Joe Rogan claps in the distance*
Here for this lol
I'm actually surprised john Mayer hasn't been on the jr show
caveman lovesmoke it’s disappointing
@@balddonaldcerrone7930 seriously!
I thought the exact same thing! He should have him on JRE
"I'm a big defender of letting young people say stupid shit" hah! I love this quote. This is a great interview.
Not the biggest fan of John Mayer's music but man can he perform on stage. A real guitar master. Seems real personable too. What a wholesome guy.
He's just a great guy and apparently has one hell of a pain tolerance. I've tried the last dab and his reaction was impressive.
You always learn so much during John Mayer interviews. About him or otherwise. Don't miss any of them. Love it. Love him
John Mayer is the one and only person in the world that motivates me more to go and pick up my guitar and play without end.
For some reason, I keep coming back and rewatching this every few weeks.
I absolutely love his guitar faces… he’s so in the zone!!! Fantastic
22:20 - Anyone else like how Mayer automatically did a quick tune on the ukulele? No hesitation, he just had to do it.
I watch this show religiously for like 3 years now, and I just now finally watched this episode and it's really crazy because I went to the dead show for the first time 2 years ago. Best show of my life. Wasn't really a huge fan until then. My whole family had been trying to force it on me my entire life, but the whole experience was amazing. I have never felt so welcome at a large gathering
Proud to say that I've always loved this man and his music 🎉
Me too! Always
This was a great interview! I've always loved John's music but he seems like a pretty decent guy as well
The way he speaks reminds me of the way John Cusack speaks in all his classic movies. Fast, fluent, and casual while being completely serious about what he's saying.
I enjoyed getting to know Mayer better, your show is the best way to get to know celebs beyond the hype and media mis-representation. Thanks for the gift of a deeper connection. Have always loved his music and admired his mastery of it.
This awesome musician just got upgraded to next level in my book. First interview i’ve ever actually seen by him
I love him so much, such a talented musician
Mayer is so cool. Coming from a guitarist, as a lot of more pop-ey sounds but he has such an amazing grasp of the instrument, just look at him live with his abundance of bluesey breaks, the riff in Neon. Some of my favorites to this day.
John's musical insight is some of the best like you might agree or disagree with them, add your own take to it, have different thoughts/opinions about it but will always be on point (too much on point sometimes lol) without any biases or hidden agendas just simply straight and resourceful
John mayer is one of my fav. music artist and he's so humble
Also he has a great watch collection
just love it
17:57 - wtf, is that just some editing mastery or unbelievable coincidence?! He's in key AND IN TIME WITH THE BACKING MUSIC.
Came back to this and I must say it's one of the top episodes
I don't really know much about John Mayer but I already love him after this. Seems like a fun guy to hang with.
This was 5 years ago, and just now I am discovering John’s music: everything at the right time, they say
John, best person alive. What a interview... amazing.
One of the better episodes. And for the record, John Mayer played at JassFest (Aspen/Snowmass) a few years ago AND genuinely had the best guitar riffs I have ever heard in my life. Thousands were mesmerized and YES the guitar faces were genuine as well. Amazing entertainer, kudos on Hot Ones as well sir!
It took me a while to get used to Born and Raised, but I love it as much as Room for Squares, or Sob Rock. I just love John Mayer. Thanks to the middle school homie that showed me John's acoustic neon video back in the day.
John is seriously such a good interview. The guy is a genius in so many ways.
Most underrated, Genius, Great guitarist and master of watch collection
He was a good interview...totally willing to talk. Good show
Watched this one again today!!! My very FAVORITE interview!!!!!! 🤓🥰👍
I don't know who I have the most respect for. John is a class act that I never seen coming and Sean is a entertainment genius. I never heard of this show till about a week ago. Can't stop watching, learning, appreciating and seeing some of these stars in a way I never thought possible. Best frickin show ever!
This should be mandatory watching for all musicians. He dropped a lot of gems
21:45 that rainbow Rolex Daytona goes so well with the tie-dye shirts he wears.
I’ll never forget my first time seeing John Mayer amazing!!!
Still watching this almost 2022! Love this interview. Just hit me this was pre corona 🥺
I have so much more respect for John after this. So awesome.
He did so so well!
so glad i came back for this one!
Great fun and wonderful! Thank you John Sean and Hot ones team!
What a great interview. A hell of a great guy.
He spoke my mind about the nickelback thing. Finally someone said it!
heck yes!
They're still not good
Watched this so many times. Lol so needs a part two.
So intelligent. So interesting. So talented. Been a huge fan of Mayer forever.
One of my favorite episodes ever!
One of my favorite hot ones episodes, and I’m an AVID fan of you Sean. You really do ask amazingly thought provoking questions that forces your guests to dig into the recesses of their brain they haven’t used in a long time. Excellent at your craft sir!👏👏👏
“I have a medicinal pillow *eye roll* 🙄
The ladies love it” 🤣🤣🤣
@John Mayer 😂 I've found gold!!!!! I love your song Shouldn't Matter!
How many times have you wacthed this?
YES
The way John dodges the drop of sauce that comes out of the Last Dab bottle when Sean puts it down just has me dead 😂😂😂
Hands down the most informative and interesting episode ever!
This is by far the best John Mayer interview I've ever seen
One of your best. Thank you.
I've avoided this one and I'm not sure why now. What a fantastic interviewee.
I love that when john was playing the uke at the end, it got noticeabley better when he started doing the guitar face
My favorite singer all-times Mr.John Mayer
The way this show makes me appreciate other’s humanity👌🔥❤️
love the chappelle line on being more musical than a lot of musicians!
Love his self awareness when it comes to his two musical niches
Some great questions, & answers!!
Love his guitar face. You see the passion.
i love mayer so muchhhhh
Watching This After The Final Tour Of Dead And Company... THANK YOU JOHN⚡️🌹⚡️♾️
Awwww, John making the Guitar-Ukelele face, I'm forever happy now xxxx
one of the best episodes by far!
John is busting the realities of success open with absolute honesty. He's learned that giving produces receiving more. I love the fact that he essentially says yeah I'm an a****** if I do too much I'll be a major a****** that's why I have to ground myself but I can go back and be a little bit of an a****** and then come back and reground myself.
The sound edits are so epic!
such a wholesome,interesting and lovable creature....so,soooooo interesting to watch❤
Great interview
Sean finishing up the interview.. damn. That is by far the most emotion I've heard out of him, JOHN MAY-ER.
This is a great quality interview
This show makes me feel so old (I’m,50) because I don’t know who a lot of the guests are or maybe it’s because I’m in the U.K. I love being introduced to them though and a lot of times guests I historically don’t like have changed my mind and now I do. This show lets us see the real person underneath not the media trained version and that’s down to Sean and the team it’s excellent. This guest is one of the most charming and obviously extremely talented people I’ve seen. I particularly liked him talking about Justin Bieber and what being famous does to people like they are set up to fail. I’m not a fan of Bieber but I think he’s written some great songs but now I will think twice before beliebing any negative media about him. Thanks as always Hot Ones team for educating and entertaining an old man you really can teach an old dog new tricks.😅😅😅
he's just amazing!
Brilliant, in every sense!
He doesn’t just take a bite off the wings, he clears the whole thing and does it so calmly! Wow.
I've been binged watching this show, actually tried some of the sauces, my favorite so far is the Queen one with black coffee. It's so good.
