John's take on young adults "Just hearing themselves play for the first time" (as in not necessarily obnoxious) is such a generous attitude and true in so many ways and we all need to remember how awful we were when we first found the confidence to express ourselves. He used music as a metaphor but it is universal.

@@poolhall9632 I think a lot of people think of him as just another pop artist. If you dig deep into his catalog you find he's such a stellar songwriter.
@jooohan I used to go see John in small clubs in Atlanta before the original release of Room for Squares.
I think he got a little overwhelmed by the fame and it took him a while to figure out the balance of his overwhelming talent and his ego.

11:03 as a long time fan of Conan, I am SO happy to hear that he likes this part of his career better than any other part, because his podcasts I think have been some of his best work. Some of the hardest I've ever laughed in my life have been through this podcast. And he seems so relaxed and happy in this medium.
About 3 months ago I had a thought in my brain. It was "Is Conan still on TV? He isn't. What the hell is he up to?" It led me to this podcast and NOTHING has made me laugh and cheer up like Conan and his Chums doing their thing. This episode has been great really had never heard Mayer speak till now!

6:15 I get the impression that John has that same kernel of unshakeable confidence within himself that Conan mentioned during his Hiking with Kevin episode. He is way too observational throughout the entire interview about what is going on, but Conan meshed really well with him. Great episode.

Judging by the links and style of case design I'd say John is wearing a Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Selfwinding Flying tourbillon finished in titanium with a smoked sandblasted blue dial that he owns now the watch itself is worth $280,000 dollars and along with other Aps Rolexes patek Philippes and more his watch game is just so on point it hurts.

This was not a good interview... the whole 1 hour thing is basically a bunch of unnecessary jokes and they didn't really let mayer talk. Whats the point of even having him as a guest if its not gonna be an in depth interview lol.. he didnt ask him anything about the next half of the tour... anything on a new album... anything that would require real deep conversation.. he didnt ask. This was a waste of time... give mayer the chance to talk about real things worth talking about.

When John Mayer talked about the Spotify Algorithm reminds me of the RUclips Ad Algorithm. I keep informing RUclips that the Medicare Ads are either irrelevant or inappropriate (many of them are scam). And yet what Ads do I get - the Medicare Ads that I inform the algorithm are irrelevant or inappropriate. Sometimes multiple Medicare / Medicare Advantage Ads. Several times I got several in a row!!!! Useless.
