Literally just fitted my exhaust there and this video really helped. I won’t say that I couldn’t have done it without this video but it probably shaved about an hour off the install time. Cheers mate
I appreciate you! My wife and i just got our black widow for the same version mt o7. We were excited until we realized we don't have the tools nor do we know what tool we need 😂 i came across your video. Hopefully this video will be all we need.
Thanks for posting, helped me a lot as I’ve not got much mechanical experience but managed to do it fine with the help of your video, the only thing I struggled with was putting on the silencer but I got it in the end and managed to do it by myself
Just fitted the 300mm Tri Oval Stainless Carbon Tip Silencer on my '23 mt07... my god, the sound recordings don't do justice to this exhaust! It's incredible until 5000rpm, and the popcorn... my god! Worth every penny!
Great I appreciate this guide a lot. Fitted well today to my MT-07. One question is it normal to hear little puffs in small speed/rpms. It's from the front but have see any leaks... Similar like the echo if riding next to same pillar wall? In higher speeds I hear nothing but the great noise of the exhaust and wind.
Dude, I am so grateful for this video. Exact make and model of both exhaust and bike so you made my first proper job on my bike way easier. Thanks a bunch :) A question: after starting it up, it all sounds great and it seems everything fits nicely and no exhaust is leaking out, but when I took it on my first ride I feel as though I hear the engine ticking sound much louder than before. My first thought was that something went awry with the gaskets and air is leaking out at the cylinders, but I can't really feel anything when I place my hand near that area and rev the engine. Could it be that the heat shield and the way the other pipe was formed muffled some of that natural sound from the engine, which is now just more obvious to the ear? I looked up the torque specs from an akra pipe as well as the M8 bolts and tightened it to ~22nM (I think translates to roughly 16ft/lbs). Have you had any client talk about this or notice it yourself? Thanks again for the vid, was such a massive help!
Thanks for showing this. If you have a minute I have a quick question.I can’t find much info on an M4 slip-on for a 2024 model. Would I simply have to cut the pipe to make it fit? I’m trying to save money. Thanks
That’s exactly what I’ve done - just got myself a 2022 model to retire my GSXR600 as my commuter. Will change to a black Widow after I’ve done 1000 miles
Hey man! That's just great! Really nice guide! I wonder how did it work through the year? Is it still ok? Any changes? The reason I'm asking is really because of a price - it's twice less comparing to Akrapovic or SC kind of pipes. Thanks!
Thanks for the install! Did you put the gaskets flat side to the exhaust port and lip side connecting to the header pipe? I just noticed they are different each side and want to make sure
Great video! This weekend I am about to change the exhaust system of my MT07, what I am a bit worry is about the Exhaust Studs, I do not have a dynamometer, so I can't tight them up with the optimal pressure, so I need to do it manually, so my question is, should I give it like an inch or so after I feel the stud tight enough? I don't want to overtight them, but either have them very loosen...
uhhm, it's all feel and experience if you can't rely on a torque wrench. The exhaust gasket are designed to be crushed as you tighten the bolts down, creating a tight seal. So make sure they are pretty snug but don't kill em, and not so loose that there is a leak or that the bolts can come loose and fall off.
Also the kit comes with a sealant, so you can apply the sealant and tighten not very strong, since the sealant will take care to keep the gas flow inside the pipes
Hello, I just purchased my first motorcycle and would like to install this same exhaust on my 2024-MT07. Do you have the link where I can purchase this exhaust? I live in Northern California USA.
Hello. Will I need to do a remap of the engine when mount such exhaust? I don't want the engine to work badly after the modification of the exhaust system.
Hello, I have a question about my bike. I have a 2022 Honda rebel 1100dct. Someone hit my front tire while it was parked. He broke my handlebar wind guard and pushed the bike about three feet with his bumper, the bike didn't fall. It was caught on a dash cam. I rode it home and everything seems normal. Should I take it to a shop and have them check it. I know nothing about fixing a bike or what could go wrong with it being hit like that. O haven't taken it back on the freeway yet. Im a bit nervous to do that.
Header nuts to 12 to 14 foot pounds. Under the plastic piece by the rear foot peg, you can just unclip the wire so you don’t have to twist it like that.
Awesome video! I have the same bike and same exhaust that I will be installing soon. The description on the black widow website states the following: ‘Accepts your original lambda (02) sensor keeping your bikes engine management system, so no changes or modifications are required to your bike.’ In your opinion, could my bike become damaged on some level if I neglect an ECU flash to accommodate the change? Many thanks!
Ideally you would add a fuel management system or Flash Tune. But it might run ok without. Some bikes can handle it better then others. Are you local? I'm an FTECU Dealer.
@@motomecha530 Thanks. I will see how the bike runs once I’ve installed the system. For optimal performance, I will more than likely need to have adjustments made at some point. I am not local, I live in the UK. I appreciate your input and love your channel. Keep up the good work!
Anyone else have an issue where the midpipe fits too loose on the y/splitter? It’s not on backwards, everything lines up properly but no matter how tight I get that clamp the midpipe is loose on the splitter. Far too loose for provided firegum/rtv to make up for the gap. Worried I might’ve got a wrong/defective part
Okay so I have one question… My friend was helping me install my 200mm system on my 2021 MT-07, and when we got to the step where we secured the muffler tip hanger clamp, we realized he had put the spacer in between the brackets. When we tried to remove the spacer and reposition it, the nut seemed to be completely stuck on it as if it were stripped even though we hadn’t fastened it all the way. We’ve tried removing it but have had zero luck. It’s completely stuck. Should I just order a new hanger and bracket?
Literally just fitted my exhaust there and this video really helped. I won’t say that I couldn’t have done it without this video but it probably shaved about an hour off the install time. Cheers mate
Awesome! Super glad it helped out!
Just installed an M4 on my MT 07 and this helped a lot man thanks. The wobbly attachment and grease tip was a life saver

Brother, best instructional video I have ever watched. Just bought a 24' mt07 and I'm currently searching exhaust options.

Did you use the glue that came with the package
@@justin.lacson Yes, it's quite efficient to insulate the pipes joints!
Thanks so much for the video. A real asset for putting on my LV One Evo.
Welcome! Hope it helped!

Check the torque on the exhaust flange bolts at the head.

Thinking about getting a MT07 as a 2nd bike, they look fairly easy to work on. Great video very informative!!!

Great video! Just installed the same setup on my ‘15 FZ07. Do you happen to know the torque specs on the 12mm nuts you removed at the 4:23 mark?
Hmm off the top of my head it'll be about 20 ft/LBS, it's in the service manual...
Thanks for the install! Did you put the gaskets flat side to the exhaust port and lip side connecting to the header pipe? I just noticed they are different each side and want to make sure
They were symmetrical
Excellent photography.
Thanks!

I want to know when you use or if you use the Holts Fire Gun, thank you for your help
I have, yes. Good stuff!
Buen trabajo tio, muy buen video.
did you use any jointing compound or anything in the joints or did they fit well enough not to have any leaks?
I used some jointing compound yes, but this one fit pretty darn tight.

Sorry, no
I just did the same🎉
What type of grease do u use on the gaskets and on the O2 sensor?
Anti-seize
Hi what kind of grease did you use on the exhaust gaskets? Thanks
It was multi purpose Super White Lithium Grease.
when and where do you use the installation paste it came with?
thanks
On any of the joints.
Hello. Will I need to do a remap of the engine when mount such exhaust? I don't want the engine to work badly after the modification of the exhaust system.
Yes ideally you would install a fuel management system or flash tune it. The best option would be to dyno tune it to get the best results.
Is ecu flashing required, I’m looking into installing an exhaust but I don’t know much about the tuning aspect of it
It should run decent but flash tuning it would be preferred. I also do flash tuning fyi. If you're in the SD area hit me up!

Did you get a check engine light from changing the exhaust? Cause after i did it, i got check engine light
