Yeah it all works. I've got a 2019 07 and it has the throttle restrictor, it looks as if they have added a back piece to catch it so it won't re-close if you cut too far. the way I just did it was loosen both bolts, left bolt out and you can move the restrictor out the way fully, then tighten the right one up. you can't put the left bolt back in but if you save it somewhere it always helps. never know when you need to.

The bike in this video is the learner version (called LAMS in Australia and NZ), there’s two distinct MT07’s for learners and full licence holders here. The MT07 HO high output is 689cc, while the learner legal bike is 655cc. I’m not too sure if that’s how it translates to the EU also- maybe the EU just gets the 689cc version with restriction?
@@zeroyon4562 - Thanks for your comment. I actually think it's a decent idea to limit learners (although here in the USA we just encourage Darwin's natural selection) but the difference between a normal MT-07 and the LAMS version seems like a waste of effort to me. I would think a 250 could easily get a learner in more trouble than they could handle. My FZ-07 is perfect for running errands around town, but still a bit light for much of a road trip.
@@ralphwaters8905 Here in NZ, the old rules put a limit to 250cc on learner and restricted licences. Learners couldn’t exceed 70km/h until they had their restricted licence too. Then it changed to 660cc and 150kw/tonne. Australia is the same. I’m pretty certain the MT07 and MT03 are the most popular lams bikes, most manufacturers seem to do a LAMS specific bike like the triumph 660cc street triple. Harley have a Indian built 500cc, KTM do a 390cc bike, and the list goes on. We’re spoilt for choice now. It’s actually a good thing they changed the rules IMO, it took the likes of the Aprilia RS250 and other 2 smokers, and the 45hp 4 cylinder bikes like the CBR250RR off the table. They were proper weapons back in the day. Starting off on a 600 or literbike seems crazy! I know it’s a commonly asked question on forums and videos, “is this R6 suitable for a learner??” I guess it’s good if you don’t want to have to upgrade later though. But bad otherwise.

Hi mate, new subscriber, awesome vids. Quick question: I'm trying to de-restrict my LAMS 2018 Ninja 650. Do you know how I might go about it? I can't find a straight answer for my model, as it used to be that older models just have a throttle restricter via 1 screw, and just removing a black box from the ecu. Any tips to point me in the right direction would be great. Cheers!
Yes I do. the Ninja 650 has a throttle stop screw, remove it and you have full throttle range. Second thing is the secondary throttle plates are controlled by the ECU which requires a flash tune to open them up.
First, have you tested yours on a dyno or are you quoting figures from Yamaha or somewhere else? Second some dynos read higher than others. Third the lams bike that comes to Australia has a smaller engine size. 4th no two bikes ever have the same power figures. 5th our figures tend to be conservative because you guys a want to see the same or better regardless of what power figure I measure. 6th we are not in the business of posting exaggerated figures to make ourselves look better than anyone else, we prefer to leave that to those who feel a little insecure . Our reputation speaks for it self. Hopefully that clears it up for everyone who keeps asking.

How much would the de restriction cost if I brought the parts?
Does it need to go on the dyno?
What stages would you recommend if I wanted to revert it back to lams?
Cheers
@@damianraica1971 no Dyno required.
ma queste modifiche vanno bene anche per la full power?
I have the airbox restriction on my MT07 and I am going to remove that restriction this winter because of new license, I try to figure out how to get the box out, I have watched mutiple videos including yours but none showing how its removed, is it hard? You mentioning "relativly easy" but everything is relative right? ;)
Thanks in advance
is this the same on the 2022 tracer 700??
i try the airbox mod and it feels like i lose torqeu down low when i put the snorkel back it has more torqeu i did not tune it but i know the f1 mercedes engine has inlet tubes that can get longer and shorter for more torqeu so it feels like with the big opening its not filling the cylinder as well this can be deu to air speed that with the the tube the airspeed is higer
I've tuned 100's of these lams versions and not one has less power anywhere. However if you don't do a full derestrict which in this case includes tuning it to match then you may well experience less low down power. Do it once , do it right.
That coffee scene was kinda wird🥴😂😂
anyone know where to find just the intake pipes for the mt07 HO? like the ones he shows in video
order from yamaha dealer or online
Hi!! Whete can i buy the snorkels for the air filter?
We have velocity stacks and or HO snorkels in stock. Go to Dynobike.com.au and click shop.
Does this work on the models from after 2017, because my yamaha dealer told me they can only de restrict models from 2017 and before.
Yes. It's all the same.
Hey mate great video that is much needed on RUclips first of all, secondly what is the actual name for the coupler/restricted stack that was replaced with HO version? Struggling to find it
I also couldn't find it is there a link for where i can buy that from
Good luck, can be found on
www.yamahapartsonline.com.au/parts/
search oem yamaha parts for model found under intake, ref 8 and 9

My bike is restricted in the throttle and the air filter. Will I notice any change in the power if I derestrict the air filter but not the throttle? Or will I have to derestrict the throttle aswell to get more power?
fantastic vid dave !
Was this bike originally an EU "A2-compliant" machine that was restricted to 35 kW or 46.9 HP?
I know it’s a commonly asked question on forums and videos, “is this R6 suitable for a learner??”
I guess it’s good if you don’t want to have to upgrade later though. But bad otherwise.
I the EU you get the full displacement, the euro 3 A2 version ist only restricted with the throttleplate. I don't know about the euro 4 restriction, only had the old one. The Airbox is build the same way at the top but I don't know what the diameter at the outlet pipes is.
Hi what would one of these derestrictions tunes set me back if i brought it into your shop?
$950.00 less if you go to the online shop dynobike.com.au/product-category/lams-flash-tunes/?_make=Honda
@@Dynobike1992 Do you have any mods to carry out on the Tenere 700?
Thanks for the info
Is the process the same for a 2021 model
@@rickycoulter7794 yes
ah darn it, its for a lams bike, I thought the full power versions had these restrictions too:p
Dave I'm in WA where can I go to get this done
You can buy all the parts from me. Go to any bike shop for fitting. They can send the ECU to me and I'll write the tune. Or you can buy a Powergate tuner and write the tune yourself.
I thought a stock mt07 was like 75 hp. Hp to the back wheel is actually around 45? I didn't know you could lose 30 hp just from a chain lol
Yamaha does not claim 75hp from the lams model, they are 2 very different power outputs
@@Dynobike1992 In Europe, the MT-07 is sold with 75 HP, you can get over 90 with this basic mods and some electronic mod to the power tables
Keyser Sose could you provide a link or something where I can read about this? I live in the United States and I bought mine here so I believe it’s 74-75 hp stock so I’d like to see how I can get that 90hp
Update: purchased a fz07, installed full akrapovic exhaust and DNA air filter then tuned it. 70hp to the back wheel and 55 ft lbs of torque
@@EdMorph same man. What mods i gotta do to get 90hp?
Awesome jop man, those information really helps.
Awesome!!! What brand are the air pipes?
Genuine Yamaha HO model intakes
i have a 2018 mt 07, the dealer says it is restricted in 2 ways. through the intake rubbers wich you replaced in this video. and also a electrical restriction. any idea what this electrical restriction could be??
CPU controlled stuff like engine braking.
Therew are no other restrictions other than those shown in the video on the Australian lams model
If you're in Australia or New Zealand you can order the tune here dynobike.com.au/product-category/lams-flash-tunes/?_make=Kawasaki
Love the video. But am I missing something? My 2016 FZ07 is 100% stock making 75hp how did all those mods only make 65hp?
@@Dynobike1992 sorry I meant no disrespect. I’m going off numbers from Yamaha. I did not realize that they are different based on location. I bought mine new from dealer and they said 75hp in the United States
@@ryanfisher806 you do realise 75hp with the HO 07 is at the crank !! So you’ll have about 67 or so hp at the wheels, A2 07 has 30cc’s less
Is it the same procedure for the xsr700?
Yes it is
will you see gains if you do all the hardware without flash tune?
Yes you will
i bought a mt-07 as my first bike! i posted the first time i ride the mt-07 if people want to see...

why are these restricted and is that true in all countries etc?
