I put a Power Commander 6 on my 2021 Honda CMX1100DCT last week and the difference is really something. Runs smoother and has a pronounced increase in performance. It cost a pretty penny but was worth it in my book.
Another great video, thanks for being so detailed! So many videos on this app that gloss over all the details that go into what an install, leaves us all scratching our heads.
Thanks Alan I appreciate it. That’s why I started making videos. I got more vids now on other mods as well and more to come. Thanks for visiting the channel.
I am ordering the power commander 6 for my 2022 MT-07. I am adding a Yoshimura R77 exhaust. Installation should be the same as for your 2021, I would think. Will this unit come preprogrammed enough to overcome the factory setting for running lean?? Great video and thanks.
Curious on the choice of Carbon vs Titanium choice. What drove you to the carbon. Any difference in sound between the 2 ? Thanks mate for your cool videos 😎
I purchased a power commander 6 for my 2022 MT-07 and downloaded the one and only tune they had and to be honest it kinda feels the same. Am I supposed to do something else?
Is the one and only tune the stock exhaust one? It’s hard to tell without seeing the numbers on a screen at a dyno but when you ride the bike long enough and know it’s tendencies very well you will have a keen sense of when things have improved.
Did you tune it yourself? the website for power commander doesnt have tune map for akro carbon exhaust. Do you mind sharing your tune map? Did you keep baffle in for the exhaust?
I kept the baffle in and run the Yoshi tune per instruction from dynojet who sells the powercommander. Give them a call if you have questions about the powercommander. They were extremely helpful when setting mine up
Hey B-rad! I just bought the Akrapovic Carbon for my bike. From what I can tell, you can choose from multiple tunes for the Power Commander. Did you use any specific tune? I'm planning to run the exhaust with the baffle in which I assumed was what you did.
So what are benefits of it please? Would you list few for road riding? Also is there HP gains? I saw end part of the video but wandering how much different it is really. Great tutorial!
Vick, thanks for the comment! The answer to your question is that i am actually running the full yoshimura exhaust system tune with stock airbox. I called Dynojet and asked because there isnt tunes out yet for the 2021 model Akrapovic exhaust. They informed me that the full yoshi tune will work just fine because it is also a full system. Their customer service is outstanding and i highly recommend you give them a call with any questions. The yoshi tune works great for the mean time untill their R&D catches up to the 2021 models. Hope this helps!
Great video. quick question though. I have the same exact setup as you that's why I purchased the PVC. Where did you get the map as there's nothing on their website for the akra exhaust and K&N. thanks
I called Dynojet because of this dilemma and was instructed to use the full yoshimura tune for it is very similar being a full system. You can call them too and I'm sure they will tell you the same. Works great!
B-Rad, thanks for your videos it helped me a lot I just wondering I got the same bike but I just got my power commander 6 .what map you fine for your setup
They updated the power commander to 6 now. nothing really changed though. I personally do not think it's worth it. You need a separate 02 sensor port tig welded on your exhaust system to use it. In my opinion, it's not worth the cost for the gain you would receive.
Hey man, I have a powercommander 3 that I put on my 2007 gsxr 1000 when I got it new (also full Ti M4 GP-style exhaust, & BMC race air filter). I can only use the 3 button manual adjuster, never adjusted them high, but modest. All of a sudden it seems to cause the injectors to tap loudly when first starting. I tune the 3 buttons down to zero/middle, and it seems to go away. Anybidea what causes this after 16 years? (I also just changed oil, coolant, & plugs). Subbed!
@B-rad The Builder thanks for the reply. I watched a few more videos about the ticking sound, and a few said to check the exhaust system, and make sure everything is tight. I was able to tighten all the header bolts about a full turn. I also drained some oil out, even though it was fine according to the manual (check while warm). I went back to the way I always checked it (cold) for the last 15 years. Now it seems to be OK, even though the ticking didn't really sound metallic. It may have been because of the acoustics of the titanium, idk. I hate vehicle noises, and I'm not the only one. I read dozens of comments about others being paranoid about every little sound as well, lol. The bike only has 8k miles on it, so I doubt it's something more serious internally. Thanks again for your time!
@@4rch3er19 thanks for commenting back. I like hearing what people find out about their issues so I can learn too. I agree noises are very annoying and create what should be an enjoyable experience riding to a nervous breakdown haha. Peace ✌️
In ny you cant pass inspection with a aftermarket exhaust, say i put a power commander & full exhaust on then when its time to get inspection could i put stock exhaust back on with the power commander still installed, then when i get home put aftermarket back on?
Hey do you feel like this thing smooths out the engine at all? I have a 2022 and I notice it's really herky jerky switching from on/off throttle, especially at low rpms. I've heard a lot of people attribute this to a fueling issue. I was hoping something like a power commander would address this.
I would say no it's about the same with the power commander. Maybe only a little better. You would yield better results with a flash tune because they can adjust more using that method.
@@kingjoules2581 when you disconnected the wheels my assumption is the sensor got confused with its counter parts leaving. It might take a while for the computer to auto reset otherwise what I would do is disconnect the battery and reconnect to manually reset.
@@BradTheBuilderChannel Sure thing buddy. I'm gonna order my MT07 tomorrow morning after work so I'm really excited to see a power commander install on this model since I'll be looking to get a full Akra exhaust when I get it.
good tutorial, but i've never drained the fuel out when taking off a tank for a fuel injected bike. Ive done it with a carbureted bike but I did not syphon it, I just removed the hose and pointed it into a container.
Not sure if you were asked this but why power commander and not ecu flash? Seems everyone has an opinion on this. Just wondering what your reasons were. Love the channel and how you describe things in detail for a newbe like me.
I’ve been asked so many times haha. Should probably make a video on why. An ECU flash is also a great option. You will have more tuning options with an ECU flash. With the flash you will have to uninstall your ECU and send it in to flash unless you have your own flasher which is $400. Then you wait for it to come back. If you install a new mod such as an K&N air filter you will have to take the ECU off again and send it in to get reflashed. With the powercommander it’s a piggy back system than can be taken on and off to return to stock if you want. Makes troubleshooting issues if they arise much easier. I can also download new fuel maps in a matter of minutes versus having to send it in. I can also fine tune fuel adjustments if necessary. Dyno jet who makes the power commander also has great customer service and have always answered my questions. They both have their benefits but I like the option of taking it off to return to the stock setup. Once your ECU is flashed you will need to know all the factory settings in order to reverse it back to stock.
@@BradTheBuilderChannel That's what I was thinking. I like the fact that I can change things at home and not have to send it away every time. And messing with the ECU just freaks me out a little bit. Thanks for the info!
Excellent video young man. It was challenging but you’re learning about your bike and others. Keep us updated. Just curious but will it power wheelie without using clutch in1st or even second gear now?
Thanks wattsmichaele! Absolutely will do. It will power wheelie no problem in 1st and 2nd. 2nd is a touch more challenging. Bump the throttle let off quickly then hammer down and the wheel comes right off. The torque this thing has is insane.
@@wattsmichaele my bone stock 2022 mt 07 will power wheelie with just the throttle in first and second gears. Easily comes up in third with a little clutch.
i have a factory stock mt07 from 2021. the stock one will do it :D it has 68nm torque, in the low rpms, it can lif up the front with third gear clutch.
NIce vid. I have same bike with an Akra. Contemplating the power commander. My only concern is all of the electrical connectors... I hate those things but U make it look easy. Quick question, I have a sound heard best in 4th at about 4k rpm. It almost sounds like an air / exhaust leak (fluttering/fluffing sound). I've checked and don't have one. Can't hear it in the higher revs, probably due to the sound of the Akra. Just trying to figure out if this is a normal sound. I almost feel like it showed up after baffle removal or 1st oil change. Any chance you have a similar sound?
Jonesy thanks for visiting the channel! Honestly either the flash or the power commander are great options. Akra has yet to put out the akra specific tune out yet but was instructed by dyno jet who makes the power commander to use the yoshimura tune which works fine still. If you want more flexibility with the tune get a flash otherwise get the power commander. Both good options. Its is a lot of work to put it in but once it's in it's in. I like the option to return to stock if needed and that's why I chose the power commander. To some people that doesn't matter but it did to me.
@@BradTheBuilderChannel No mods to the stock airbox. I feel the sound is coming from the left side of the bike, kinda where the airbox would be. I need to check that.
No it does not pop on deceleration. It’s normal if your getting gurgling sounds which occurs on the stock system as well just quieter. If your getting pops/backfires on deceleration then there might be a fuel issue.
I called them and have been using the yoshi Map. They told me they should be very similar. It is frustrating they haven’t put the correct map out yet though. I might have to give them a call again
@@BradTheBuilderChannelI recently used your install video for the PC6 and it went flawlessly!! However, I’m having issues with finding and uploading the yoshi tube. Dynojet email and customer service was horrible. Any help?
@@BradTheBuilderChannel So I can bring the unit to my pc upload the file on to the PCV and then hook it up? When I start my bike it will have the map fully loaded on to the bike? Another quick question does the wire come that long cause I see some PCV units and the wire to hook everything up isn't as long as yours. Thank you the quick response !
@@ShipyardWelder yes exactly. you can install the tune before you even hook the unit up to the bike. Im not sure about that. The wire I got was what was included in my kit.
Of course. A tutorial could be made for that as well. I’m running a yoshi tune though because there isn’t an Akra one yet per instruction from dynojet. I wouldn’t install a $400 plus unit and run no tune!
@@BradTheBuilderChannelan you make a quick video of how you uploaded the tune. I can collectively say that we’re having issues with getting the Yoshimura tune.
I have the power commander V as well. When mapping, there isn't the exact aftermarket parts when looking on the maps. Do we just pick the map that is closest to our aftermarket parts?
I had to download a map onto the unit. Very easy to do off their website. Download their software from their site (dynojet.com) then drag and drop the file/map into the software
Version 6 is out now and 5 is discontinued. I only saw a stock tune available for the PC6. Are the other tunes behind a login? I wonder if the PCV tubes will work on 6. Hmm
I’m not sure if the powercommander v tunes transfer to the 6. I know it’s unfortunate they are going through an update now. The install however will be the same. Call them! Their customer service is great and see what they say
@@BradTheBuilderChannel I decided to go with the ftecu kit and I got a map from 2wdw. It seemed like a good idea because of the PCV to PC6 transition. I liked your throttle body vid too. I feel like I can do it on my own now!
How do you like it? Are you able to disable the fuel injection cut off? That’s the main reason I went with the flash! Also I think I said this in another of your videos, but you have to do the R6 throttle tube. It’s my favorite mod I’ve done. Only $30 And pull out the snorkel! More flow!💜
I freaking love it! I am not entirely sure if you can disable that function on with the power commander however I haven't noticed the issue on the 2021. I have read in the forums and know what your talking about though. Thanks for the tips!
I don’t have a dyno. Not sure on exact amount. Reach out to dynojet on specific year and they will tell you. They dyno it and make tunes for the power commander specifically to whichever exhaust you have.
Wow very smooth install, you should be a mechanic man! Do you notice an increase or decrease in fuel efficiency? Im getting this done soon to my 2019 Mt07
MTMatt thanks for the comment. A mechanical career path may be in my future. I really haven't noticed a big change in fuel efficiency. If anything it so subtle that you wont notice. I've had people ask me if it adds horsepower too but I couldn't answer that question truthfully without having it dynoed. The 2019 and 2021 disassembly should be fairly similar especially once you get the plastics off. Best of luck and thanks for visiting the channel!
@@BradTheBuilderChannel but with the full exhaust and power Commander it has to pull harder? The mechanic today told me it would add torque and HP forsure, how much hell have to Dyno to see. Is it worth the money for the power commander 5? Any air filter upgrades?
@@mtmatt8958 oh it pulls way harder. It's not even close and I haven't touched the intake yet. Air box mods will only make it better. To me it's worth the money but it comes down to what you want to do with the bike. Some people prefer the flash but i like that the power commander can be removed and returned to stock for trouble shooting purposes in the future.
@@BradTheBuilderChannel 1 more question for you me. B rad, can you control engine brake with this power commander? Or do you need a flash to adjust that? Thanks man
hey, whats the Part Number you have on the back of the power commander? i called dynojet and they said that the power commander i.have is not the correct one for my bike. I got this bike used and it came with it. the part number of the one I have is PN:22-065 they said that the one I have is for the mt07 years 18-20. mine is a 2021, and they said that the ECU changed for.the 2021 mt07, and thats why they redesigned it so it can talk to the ECU the way it should. now, I noticed this when I tried to add their tune on the website for a 2021 full exhaust and I got an error message. I then tried the map.tune for the 2020, amd it took it. not sure what to do.
Here are your options: OPTION 1 Remove the powercommander it came with and purchase the correct one. I have a how to video on how to install the unit. They have a power commander 6 now as well which is even more updated. OPTION 2 Remove the powercommander and run it with no tune IF and ONLY if it has the Akrapovic full carbon racing line exhaust because both the revzilla website and Akrapovic.com / and their rep said you can run with no tune. ( I would get another powercommander or flash tune the bike asap though) OPTION 3 remove the powercommander and flash tune the bikes ECU. There is a few companies out there that do it. It is also a cheaper option and some people say it’s better than the powercommander even. I hope this helps but either way that old unit has to go. I wouldn’t risk it running as is if it’s communicating wrong to the ECU.
@@BradTheBuilderChannel thank you very much!!! I do have the incorrect one. I'll be pulling this power commander today. Dammm, I wasnt planning on this, oh well!! Thanks so much!!!
Brent, I talked to my personal dealer about this. The warranty for these bikes works like this. Unless the issue that occurs is directly traced to the modification, it is covered by warranty. The power commander is a good option because it's a piggy back system that can be removed from the bike in case of an issue returning the bike to stock besides the exhaust. Hope this answers your question.
@@BradTheBuilderChannel It does, thank you. I pulled the trigger on an Akra carbon and K&N filter. Debating whether to spring for this and combine the installations... That air filter is under there too! (EDIT) Also, what are you using for your Dynojet map? It looks like the website only has maps for other exhausts. Have you dyno'd it yet? Thanks for such great videos man!
Still on the soft side I would say after ~4000km, after all u don't buy a mt07 for it's suspension but it's engine. Also the 21 model comes with LED light which makes riding at night a blast.
For it being the cheapest naked bike out there I'd say its pretty damn good. You can always change the suspension too. It is definitely on the softer side though.
Nope you will not ruin your bike without a tune … especially new bikes …. If you want more power you would need a tune but other than that you won’t destroy you engine if you didn’t tune it ….
That is a good option as well. I prefer piggy back system so I can return to stock if I wanted too. Also if problems arise I can trouble shoot by taking the power commander off and running just the stock ecu to see if it clears up. Once your flashed your flashed. Most company’s that flash allow you to send it back in free to get retuned say you change your exhaust or air filter. I don’t want to wait. I can change my tune in a matter of minutes not weeks.
Your bike will not run as lean from factory. Long term damage is possible but not likely it will affect the bike tremendously. I currently have the same exact bike as brad, color and everything. I have a “Amazon special” exhaust on and don’t have it tuned. Low end power went down a decent amount but the sound is amazing. I plan to get a power commander just mainly for the bike to run as lean as possible but it is NOT needed.
Hey Brad, what are you using for your Dynojet map? It looks like the website only has maps for other exhausts. Have you tuned it yet? Thanks for such great videos man! EDIT: Talked with Dynojet and they suggested the Yoshimura R-77 | M22-099-002 EDIT2: Finished. But my check engine light came on. Not sure what to do.
Just as a follow-up for others. The check engine was no issue. I ordered a CAN-compatible OBDII and a Euro5-to-OBDII adapter and read the codes and only had P0113 - Intake Air Temp High. Reset and reread, no issues. Let it run for a few minutes and no CE light so I think I'm good to go. Man, this thing sounds MEAN! I love it. Thanks again for all the extra work you put into these videos.
why??? why not just get a remap?? for that it costs £500, a remap of £150?? plus no plud in shit or anything so I'm lost why on earth? but I'm in the UK so different to the USA how much do they charge you for a remap??
It's like hell to the naw! When I get my mt07 someday I'm just going to leave it stock. What ever major maintenance that I require on the bike I'm going to let people like you a mechanic to do it. I could only do oil change, and air filter that's it. Everything is like I"m going to lose parts if I did that. I feel the motorcycle is fast enough for me even my little cb300f.
Nothing wrong with that. For street riding the MT-07 is a beast! Honestly shocks me that some people recommend it to new riders with zero experience. In stock form it can EASILY power wheelie in first gear, lift off the ground in second and clutch up third "If you know what you're doing". I started on an YZF-R3 and the jump to the MT-07 had me shaking with adrenaline! That was after 10k plus Mile's and multiple track days. @@tylerwilliams1882 Dude! You making me so jealous. Just reading what you're saying just really made me want that bike so bad. I'm just in a little contemplation in whether I should get it used in FB marketplace, or finance it new at the dealership. I'm so looking forward in getting MT07.
@@ilive4d80s6I'm not trying to make you jealous at all! Just trying to let you know its an amazing bike! You could go with old or brand new and it will still be amazing. Just don't believe everything everyone says about needing to upgrade in a month or having to put thousands into suspension. The bike is about a perfect package and the suspension while not the best adds to it's playful nature in my opinion, just don't try to ride it like a supersport! PS. The alien looking headlight looks way better in person and the stock exhaust actually still has a Crossplane bark if you get on the throttle.
What I'm getting out of this is that replacing the battery or getting a jump from a car is extremely demanding, Yamaha has f*cked up here real bad. 1-2% of the riders will do this PC thing, but the battery? Come on.... On my Hornet it's child's play, all you have to mess with is two allen screws and the batter is right there.
@@SuperHodge08 That's not how it works. If you buy that exhaust and mount it on your bike you can't operate it on public roads anymore - police knows that and will look out for it. Also your bike has to undergo an inspection every 2 years called "TÜV" where they check if your bike matches the emissions from factory. It's a lot easier and less hustle to get an approved exhaust which may no grant any extra performance but still looks and sounds good. So in short you either get busted by a police patrol or by the inspection (which you could prevent by remounting the stock exhaust).
@@Lukas-jm7cx all my friends have always had "illegal exhausts" no pull overs, no problems. Cops don't know what's stock and whats not because all they do is ride harley davidsons so luckily they see sport bikes and think nothing of "that foreign crap"
SuperHodge08 Your Police Officers must be pretty dumb then. In Europe its super easy to tell, if a part is legal or not. No E-Mark, no additional Papers: illegal. No E-Mark, but additional Certificates: legal, but only if the part is mentioned in your registration Papers. E-Mark: Completely legal, as long as it meets noise or emission regulations and was not modified by someone.

So what are benefits of it please? Would you list few for road riding? Also is there HP gains? I saw end part of the video but wandering how much different it is really. Great tutorial!
Thank you for this video convincing me that this mod is way outside my abilities to perform. I would have sureky been very sorry if i attemped this.
When you are uploading the new map, does the bike have to be turned off?
Thanks for the video absolute mission of an install
Great video! My only question is I can't find any installable tunes for the akrapovic exhaust for the 2021 model. How did you install a tune?
I ended up using the yoshi map for mine per instruction from dynojet
Your welcome too! Thanks for checking out the channel

Did you install a aftermarket air filter?
@@JoseRodriguez-ml1sx nope I left mine stock. I like where it’s at but I have another thing I can do if I want a little more out of the bike
You should have unrestricted the air intake system while you were at it.
Do you reccomend the auto tune? On revzilla it only shows the Power command 6 for my 2022 Mt07 any thoughts?
Subbed!
I’m gonna be honest with you man I’m not sure on that one. Your best bet probably is to call dynojet
I’m shooting from the hip here but the fuel injector springs might be getting weak. Trading them out for new ones might correct the issue

So what tune did you use because i dont see one for the akra on dynojet website
I used the yoshi tune per instruction from dynojet when I called them about the same issue
@@BradTheBuilderChannel sweet thanks
Hey do you feel like this thing smooths out the engine at all? I have a 2022 and I notice it's really herky jerky switching from on/off throttle, especially at low rpms. I've heard a lot of people attribute this to a fueling issue. I was hoping something like a power commander would address this.
I would say no it's about the same with the power commander. Maybe only a little better. You would yield better results with a flash tune because they can adjust more using that method.
"It's INSANE!!!"
I'll put this in my watch later list but I can already tell the title is a hyperbole
When doing the dynojet, did you find the tune specific to akrapovic or what did you use
I had to use the yoshi tune for now until the Akra Akra one comes out. This is what dynojet instructed me to do when I called about the same issue
@B-rad The Builder Thank you!! Used this video to help me install mine last night!! Super helpful 👌
Questions need second opinion! Happened after changing wheels. ABS light on & speedo zero. Checked fuses, line clueless
@@kingjoules2581 when you disconnected the wheels my assumption is the sensor got confused with its counter parts leaving. It might take a while for the computer to auto reset otherwise what I would do is disconnect the battery and reconnect to manually reset.
Also the wheels have a little disc on them with a magnet that spins to tell how fast the wheel is spinning. Do the new ones have that?
Beautiful video man
I appreciate the comment and thanks for visiting the channel. It really helps support the effort I put into the videos. Peace!
Yep that is something I learned later. You do not need to empty the fuel out of the tank

Hey B-Rad, do know if the process is pretty much for the same for a 2024 mt 07 ?
Excellent video young man. It was challenging but you’re learning about your bike and others. Keep us updated. Just curious but will it power wheelie without using clutch in1st or even second gear now?
Thanks wattsmichaele! Absolutely will do. It will power wheelie no problem in 1st and 2nd. 2nd is a touch more challenging. Bump the throttle let off quickly then hammer down and the wheel comes right off. The torque this thing has is insane.
Great news! Thank you.

Now on the side of the noise I have not experienced that. Have you messed with the intake at all with mods?
@@BradTheBuilderChannel No mods to the stock airbox. I feel the sound is coming from the left side of the bike, kinda where the airbox would be. I need to check that.
Awesome video! Thank you
Thanks plesnivi. Glad you like it!
Any advice on an alternative install location? Ive got a dash cam and USB charger under my seat which takes up most of the space.
Does your Yamaha mt-07 do poping when deceleration with full exhaust
No it does not pop on deceleration. It’s normal if your getting gurgling sounds which occurs on the stock system as well just quieter. If your getting pops/backfires on deceleration then there might be a fuel issue.
Ok thanks 👍
Can you show how to install the tune itself?
Was there any low rpm off-idle jerkiness before or after the Power Commander mod?
Mister B-rad , where did you found those akra carbon fuel maps Sir ?
I called them and have been using the yoshi Map. They told me they should be very similar. It is frustrating they haven’t put the correct map out yet though. I might have to give them a call again

@@BradTheBuilderChannelI recently used your install video for the PC6 and it went flawlessly!! However, I’m having issues with finding and uploading the yoshi tube. Dynojet email and customer service was horrible. Any help?
So do you just hook a usb cord from your laptop to PCV and send the map ? Does the bike need to be on or off when sending a map to PCV?
Yep use your lap top and the usb. Bike should be off. You can tune it with the unit fully unhooked as well like if you just got it
@@BradTheBuilderChannel So I can bring the unit to my pc upload the file on to the PCV and then hook it up? When I start my bike it will have the map fully loaded on to the bike? Of course. A tutorial could be made for that as well. I’m running a yoshi tune though because there isn’t an Akra one yet per instruction from dynojet. I wouldn’t install a $400 plus unit and run no tune!

So with that exhaust do you have to tune it

@B-rad
Use the yoshi map. That was what I was instructed to do by dynojet because they haven’t mapped the Akra yet
Did you have to download a map for the power commander? Or was it just plug and play?

They sell the quick shifter as a separate connection the PC. Check out dynojets website and you should see the accessories to the PC. Peace ✌️
Big job
Maybe i missed it, how many hp and nm after the upgrades?
I don’t have a dyno. Not sure on exact amount. Reach out to dynojet on specific year and they will tell you. They dyno it and make tunes for the power commander specifically to whichever exhaust you have.
Do top speed run.
Best of luck and thanks for visiting the channel!

hey,
whats the Part Number you have on the back of the power commander?
i called dynojet and they said that the power commander i.have is not the correct one for my bike. I got this bike used and it came with it. the part number of the one I have is PN:22-065
they said that the one I have is for the mt07 years 18-20. mine is a 2021, and they said that the ECU changed for.the 2021 mt07, and thats why they redesigned it so it can talk to the ECU the way it should.
now, I noticed this when I tried to add their tune on the website for a 2021 full exhaust and I got an error message. I then tried the map.tune for the 2020, amd it took it. not sure what to do.
I’m checking now. I’ll circle back with you asap. What exhaust system do you have on your bike currently?
My part number is PN:22-099
Here are your options:
OPTION 1 Remove the powercommander it came with and purchase the correct one.
( I would get another powercommander or flash tune the bike asap though)
OPTION 3 remove the powercommander and flash tune the bikes ECU. There is a few companies out there that do it. It is also a cheaper option and some people say it’s better than the powercommander even.
I hope this helps but either way that old unit has to go. I wouldn’t risk it running as is if it’s communicating wrong to the ECU.
@@BradTheBuilderChannel i have rhe akrapovic carbon full exhaust system
@@BradTheBuilderChannel thank you very much!!! I do have the incorrect one. I'll be pulling this power commander today. Dammm, I wasnt planning on this, oh well!! Thanks so much!!!
I wish I knew the new top speed after installation
Does this affect the warranty?
How's the suspension on these newer ones?
Still on the soft side I would say after ~4000km, after all u don't buy a mt07 for it's suspension but it's engine. Also the 21 model comes with LED light which makes riding at night a blast.
For it being the cheapest naked bike out there I'd say its pretty damn good. You can always change the suspension too. It is definitely on the softer side though.
Is it absolutely necessary to have a power commander if running a full exhaust? Could I possibly damage the engine permanently?
Nope you will not ruin your bike without a tune … especially new bikes …. If you want more power you would need a tune but other than that you won’t destroy you engine if you didn’t tune it ….
So why not get the original ECU tuned ?
That is a good option as well. I prefer piggy back system so I can return to stock if I wanted too. Also if problems arise I can trouble shoot by taking the power commander off and running just the stock ecu to see if it clears up. Once your flashed your flashed. Most company’s that flash allow you to send it back in free to get retuned say you change your exhaust or air filter. I don’t want to wait. I can change my tune in a matter of minutes not weeks.

Is a tune necessary if I install the same exhaust on my 2019 Mt07?
Your bike will not run as lean from factory. Long term damage is possible but not likely it will affect the bike tremendously. I currently have the same exact bike as brad, color and everything. I have a “Amazon special” exhaust on and don’t have it tuned. Low end power went down a decent amount but the sound is amazing. I plan to get a power commander just mainly for the bike to run as lean as possible but it is NOT needed.
